We woke up one owning and the alarm for our septic system was going off. We are new to septic systems and were scared to death. We contacted Evergreen and they were there the same day. It was difficult to get into the access hole for the pump as it was half under cement. They emptied the tank and then pulled the pump confirming it had seized. They needed to acquire a new pump but told us we would be fine until they were able to return in 2 days. Life was able to resume as normal in the home. They returned as promised with the new pump, wired it up, emptied the tank again and confirmed everything worked. Spending $1500.00 unexpectedly just prior to the holidays was a huge hit for us. This after only one year in our home. But there is no choice but to fix it right.Evergreen Sanitation did that. The guys we dealt with we're all wonderful and I would certainly recommend this company.

Arrived on time. Overall did a very good job examining our system and pumping the tank. There was a miscommunication as I had asked as to whether they certify septic systems as our county wants. Was told yes and they would submit the paperwork (this is the worker talking to the office)....after a few weeks when I did not hear anything I called and found out they are not able to do it for my county. I do not remember the exact amount of the pumping but it was within what I had expected to pay

We had the most frustrating experience ever with a service provider, thus our giving a grade of and quot;Fand quot; for overall Experience and Professionalism to Evergreen Sanitation, Inc. Angie's List members also need to be aware that Evergreen is just one of several septic firms operated by Tandem Service Corp., Inc. I also want to make clear that the actual job of pumping out the septic tank was done in an acceptable manner. The area I will be focusing on, and want to warn other, future Angie's List members about, are the business practices displayed by Evergreen/Tandem Service Corp. with regard to our experience. I had called and scheduled an appointment for 10/18/12 with Lyon/Eastside Septic - a septic firm we had used in the past and one of the companies that are associated with Tandem Service Corp. Later that same day, I called Lyon/Eastside/Tandem back and cancelled the appointment, as I had found another, highly rated septic firm on Angie's List I decided to try instead. The person I spoke to at Lyon/Eastside/Tandem confirmed the cancellation. I made an appointment with the new firm, Lakeside Septic for the same day, 10/18/12. On 10/17/12, the day before the scheduled appointment, a person called and said and quot;we can pump your tank this afternoon.and quot; We said no, we can't do it today, and besides, the appointment isn't until tomorrow. The person on the phone said, and quot;O.K., we'll see you tomorrow.and quot; The problem was, the person calling was from Evergreen Septic (a Tandem Service firm) and we had cancelled our appointment with them and we didn't know it was Evergreen calling. The next day, 10/18/12, the Evergreen driver shows up before Lakeside and starts the pumping process. When my wife asks if they're part of Evergreen, the driver tells her that there are several companies that are part of Tandem and that different companies are dispatched to the various jobs. About a half hour later, Lakeside shows up. I called Evergreen and they didn't acknowledge their appointment had been cancelled weeks before and instead attempt to shift the blame to us citing their phone call of the previous day as if that gave them the green light to show up, in spite of the previous cancellation. They also stated that it was customary in the industry that when two firms showed up for a job, the first one pumping is the one that gets the job. Evergreen did reduce their bill so, financially, it was a wash between Evergreen and Lakeside. Additionally, as previously mentioned, the actual pumping job was done in a satisfactory manner. However, this experience has totally soured me on Evergreen and I will never use them or recommend them or any of the other septic companies operated by Tandem Service Corp. At best, their business practices are questionable and at worst, their practices are flat out deceptive.

I called Evergreen On Site and they were able to come out the next day. The workers arrived on time with a copy of the "As Built" drainfield drawing. They immediately evaluated my drainfield to locate the problem. They were able to isolate the problem quickly and provide an estimate. The crew foreman was very professional and extremely knowledgable. Since I was unable to get any other company to give me a bid, I accepted their bid. They returned the next day as promised and repaired all of the faulty components in the septic / drainfield system. So far the Septic system has functioned normally and no other problems have been experienced.
Description of Work: My septic drain field was not functioning correctly and gray water was overflowing from the D-box. I tried calling several companies listed on Angies list, but could not find anyone willing to look at my septic drainfield problem.

We were told in an email that they would start as soon as they received our payment. We have new construction and paid them a $950 deposit which they cashed on June 18th. Six weeks later they still haven't done anything. * After 2 weeks of hearing nothing, I started contacting them. "He's gonna start next week."* Next week: "he's awfully busy, but it will definitely be next week." * Next week: "he went out and inspected the property." I wanted to know how he could have done that without contacting me. Our property is fenced with a padlocked gate. They simply didn't respond to my question.* Next week: more of the same* This week (today 7/23/12) I phone the office and was told the person was on the phone and should be off in a minute or 2. She then took my name and asked what the subject was. I told her that I wanted our money back and to please contact me immediately. No return call. I guess the next steps, after posting this on Angies list:(1) file a small claim action(2) find out which dept. issues their license and file a complaint(3)File a complaint with the BBB. And yes ... I'm an idiot ... I was a member of Angie's list before I hired them, but failed to check to learn of their bad ratings. :-( ========================================================================================= Update: I received a refund check from the company today 7/27/12, as long as it doesn't bounce ... we're done. ========================================================================================= Response to Evergreen: No e-mail was received on either date. When I didn't receive a response from them ... I phoned. I have no idea why they would work on a "less costly" option, since I was never given any option. I was never contacted by the designer. The "design process" could not have been started without first contacting me ... which they said would not begin until after they received payment.

Response from Evergreen Sanitation Inc
First, we did contact Member via telephone the same afternoon as this complaint was lodged. She was issued a refund for the full amount that same day and the check has since been cashed. Per Title 13 of the King County Public Health code, a designer is required to determine how many employees will be using the system to calculate wastewater flows. Member was questioned via e-mails on 07/06/2012 and 07/17/2012 as to how many full time and part time employees she anticipated would use the system. Both times the question went unanswered. We were working on a less costly option involving the use of a holding tank, knowing that the business was a non-profit and trying to take that into consideration as well during the design process, but the customer never supplied the necessary information. At any rate, the design fee was refunded in full, despite the work already done on the project.

Called Evergreen Sanitation, got a quote over the phone, plus a list of extra fee's that may be charged. They were able to send a truck within 3 hours. Jeff, the service guy was great. I knew that I had a "Gravity" system, a 1,000 gallon tank, and exactly where the tank was and the lids, so he didn't have to waste time hunting for them. He had the lids off and tank open in no time and got to work. There was a very thick layer of sludge, which took some work to get it all out. Jeff backflushed the system (an extra fee) and got everything working again. I was happy to pay what I did, and the back flushing was only $67.50. After calling a few of the recommended Septic pumping companies on Angie's List, who all had a wide arrange of pricing, I decided to go with Evergreen Sanitation, recommended by a friend who was in the Sanitation business, but has since moved to Eastern Washington.

They seemed to be okay. They knew what they were doing and they came up with less expensive process and instead of replacing the entire drain they were able to do a patch on them. So they saved me about $7000 to $8000. With the knowledge that I don't have and what they did I would say that they did very good job. Price wise I have no way of comparing and because it was an emergency situation. I would use them in the future.

A week prior to pumping, we had the septic back up into our house. The problem was a clog in the line from the house to the septic tank. I called my plumber first who was unable to make it out that day and he referred us to Evergreen Sanitation. We've used Evergreen Sanitation before to pump our septic and another time when we had our septic alarm go off. A call to Evergreen was answered promptly (this was on a holiday in the midst of a snow storm) and the woman who answered talked with me about the problem we were having and determined it was unlikely our septic system itself and correctly diagnosed a clog between the house and the tank. After calling two roto rooter services, we ended up opening our septic tank ourselves and found a clog right at the tank which we were able to remove. Decided to have the system pumped as it had been 2 1/2 years since the last time and the tanks were already exposed. I called Evergreen to schedule the pumping. Again the call was answered promptly, very friendly and service was scheduled with a choice of morning or afternoon and an estimate was given over the phone. The technician arrived promptly, was very professional and friendly. I described our earlier problem as he was removing the lid to our main tank and discovered that the water level was very high and our main line was once again backed up! We came very close to another septic backup into our home. He diagnosed the problem as a clogged filter and cleaned the filter. Told us that we probably wouldn't have any more problems with it but would need to make sure the filter was cleaned each time we had the tank pumped. He provided a thorough inspection of the system and said everything looked great. Tested it by having me flush toilets to make sure it was working before he left. He told me that the filter we had currently (basically a sock filter) was a fairly poor filter and suggested we may want to replace it at some point. He gave me an estimate as well as some literature on the filter so I could investigate it further. No pressure at all and I appreciated the information. Will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Pumped both tanks in our mound system septic (just over 1400 gallons). Cleaned the filter, inspected the entire system to ensure it was working properly and tested the system after pumping.

We weren't sure when our septic tank needed to be pumped, having just bought the house a year ago, but I wanted to have it done and know where we were in the timetable. I called one company and they got back to me once, but never did call to set up a date after that. So I called Evergreen Sanitation this morning, and by this afternoon they were here. They pumped the tank, took care of the job, and were neat and efficient. I'd call them again.

Our septic pump alarm went off at 6:00 AM today. After some research, I found documentation from the seller of our home that this company performed an inspection almost 1 year ago. I called them at 6:20 AM to find out their business hours and was pleasantly surprised to have someone (Joy) answer the phone. The business hours are 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. I had a conflict this morning, but Joy was able to schedule the technician this afternoon. She called me back with an update at 8:00 AM and then called me a second time that the tech was on his way (estimate 40 minutes away). The tech arrived very promptly based on Joy's estimate. Randy came in, took a look around at the pump, then came into my garage to look at the timing system. As soon as he saw that the power had been turned off, he knew this was the issue. He turned the pump back on, setting it to manual instead of timed and went back to see the pump was working. He checked it again in approximately 5 minutes and was satisfied this issue was resolved. This took just a little over half an hour. Joy had quoted me $225 for the tech, which would cover the first two hours, and included all the labor and work (materials would be additional if needed). Randy said he would only charge me half that rate.
Description of Work: Technician came out to investigate the pump alarm. He discovered that the timer had been shut off, so he turned it back on and made sure the pump was working to his satisfaction before he left.

Overall, Don't use him. Use HIL Septic. They did the job for 20K LESS thank Evergreen Onsite was going to charge. The guys who were working on my place said they couldn't get another crew out for days. And then an Evergreen On Site truck rolled by. They waved, it stopped. They all talked for a while, "Oh, yeah, it's going to be spendy!" "Oh, call in Bradley, he'll come out and deliver the bad news." (Very unprofessional.) And, if those guys were right there with the equipment, and had 20-30 minutes to talk and make fun of their designer, why couldn't they look at my lawn? It was just a warning sign all over.
Description of Work: I only spent $400, but the estimate they gave me to replace my drain field (After they dug up my lawn and left it there) was $28,000.00 (YES, $28K). The first crew came out and just cleaned my septic and said, "You've got broken valves, call in the next guy" So the next guy came out and dug up a few holes beyond my porch. He found raw sewage from approximately 10 years of non-connected septic. He and his friend with a bobcat dug four holds 6 feet deep in my backyard looking for a drainage field. I think they could have made a little less of a mess. But they found nothing but broken pipes. (Previous owners abused the system for 30 years.) They left the holes and said to call in "Bradley Anne" -- a nickname they gave the designer. They said, "Once you've called him in, you're spending the big bucks." Brad called, came out, looked at it for a few minutes and said, "It's going to need a pump, and a control panel, etc. etc. We're looking at $28K" Oh no we're not. I went to Angie's List and found HIL Septic. Ivan came out and did the job without a pump. Without a control panel. Grandfathered in my gravity field and replaced my entire septic system for ONLY $8400.00 = 20K in savings from Evergreen Onsite. I'm SO glad I had Angie's List. It was spiriling out of control.

Our pump alarm went off, meaning the pump wasn't working. I called two area companies and never got a call back. I then called Evergreen, got someone right away, and they scheduled an appointment the next day for pumping. After pumping, they scheduled a repairman early the next morning (Sunday) to fix the pump. After an hour, he reported that the pump was okay but the wiring had rusted and was arcing. He fixed the problem, didn't charge for any labor or parts, only the call out. Very nice people from phone to service.

They were very responsive. They came out and located the septic tank and assessed the situation. Then they turned it over to a branch of their company called Evergreen Onsite, and they came out and gave the bid. The process isn't complete. I had questions and I called on Friday to see if I could speak with the person who came out, but they didn't come in on Friday. The thing that put me off a little bit is that they are asking for part of the money up front. I have been told that you don't need to pay anything up front. I have some questions for them and I'm a little bit unhappy that that person wasn't available last Friday. We are dealing with a situation that requires using very little water and everything is all muddy. They came when they said they would come.
