Description of Work: Bought the angies list daily deal for the A/C. When they came out to look at the job, we discussed the age of my furnace and that this would be the best time to replace it and get in to an efficient furnace. Sounded like a good idea so they took care of everything. There was some complications in the install and we had talked about what seemed like the best fit at the time, but during install, the tech found a significantly better solution and we avoided having to have pipes running visibly through a bathroom. The guys that came out to do the install were great. Very polite and experts at what they were doing. They also did a great job cleaning everything up when they were done. One of the smallest things that we appreciated just as much as everything else they did was provide us with a little stuffed "lion" for our boy who was 8 months old at the time. |The electricians that came out were just as great. They added an additional plug in the garage and the work they did was very professional. Funny thing about those guys, as they were in the garage and working around all my junk, they apparently noticed my wheelbarrow that was broken which I lost the bolt to be able to fix. Apparently they found it and without me knowing, went ahead and fixed it! I thought that was really awesome of them to do. |All in all, I feel I got a great deal to upgrade our house to be survivable in the summer and less expensive to heat in the summer. Great group of guys that will be first folks I'll call if I should have any heating/AC service in the future.

Description of Work: The service provided by this company was done over the phone since they could not come out to the house (all technicians were out on call). The tech on the phone talked us through the process the restart are heating system. He was very knowledgeable and evev though he has never been to our house, he could understand our problem. We successfully got the heating system up and running so that we had heat right away.

Description of Work: We contracted with Black Lion to replace a working, albeit aged, furnace and AC system. We started by going through CostCo where Lennox was on display via MM Comfort in the Seattle area. We got the Lennox quote at $18k for a 97% efficient furnance and 5 TON AC unit - also efficient. The quote from Lennox was bundled, no line item break outs and when I asked a question on what the cost would be if we went from the furnace quoted to the 95% efficient model, I got no response via two email attempts. Black Lion has an ad that runs on the radio in the morning commute outlining their openness and transparency. I checked Angie's List and they had a good rating so I called. They came out and did a similar review of the house and quoted $13k for comparable Bryant efficiency / function / features that we received from Lennox. Big difference in experience on top of the cost delta. The representative was willing to mix / match as many furnance / AC unit types I could ask for, including several accessory items like wireless capability, humidifier, air purification, etc. We scheduled the replacement and like clock work, the Black Lion team showed up and got to it. I was very pleased with the work and am familiar with the technology and requirements of heating / cooling. Details matter to me and they did not disappoint. I asked why the placed the ventilation pipe where they did - I got a specific answer on distance from intake is a code requirement. Check. The questions continued and each one they had fact based, logic with no ambiguity on response. In the bonus category for me. I have a 4 year old son who is very curious and loves tools, building, etc. I was a little hesitant bringing him to the garage at first. Four ~30 year old mean working in industry are not always known for correct grammar and consideration of young ears. All were very professional, respectful, and considerate. At the end of the job, they cleaned very diligently and I am now left with a super quiet furnance (I literally went into the garage 3 times last night to see if it was working it was that quiet) and a very clean area round the furnace. Great job Black Lion.

Description of Work: Removed & replaced aging and broken furnace. After meeting with owner Ben and getting a description of options and associated costs for replacing old furnace (condensation unit was completely corroded), Ben was able to get a crew in to do the work the same afternoon. By nightfall, the replacement was complete and we had heat again. Ben and a colleague returned the following morning to be sure that everything was working well, and that we understood the new thermostat and furnace. New installation looks great, works much better than the old furnace (whole house is as warm as desired), and all the crews were professional, personable and kept the place very clean in a rather tight hallway. I would recommend Black Lion for any heating issues.

Description of Work: They removed and installed a new 50 gallon Rheem Water Heater. |There was a problem when the water heater they brought to install. It did not fit due to the furnace heating ducts. They tried a few others they had on their truck but they didn't work. They had to leave to pick up another style of Rheem water heater. They did all of this very professionally. |

Description of Work: These guys were great. There was an electrical problem that was not their fault, and is being corrected. Their furnace install was top notch.

Description of Work: They installed a ductless heat pump. The electricians showed up on time and got going on there part of the project. Then the heat pump installers arrived and did there part of the installation. The entire project was complete by 1:30 PM. They did a great job.

Description of Work: They were excellent. They returned my call for an estimate promptly (unlike two other companies). They did the work on time (came at the time they said they would) and installed the hot water heater, and cleaned up everything. The workers were polite and did what seems like a good job. Also was able to connect a furnace annual maintenance at the same time, a real plus to have both done in one trip. It saved me time which I liked.

Description of Work: Black Lion installed a central AC unit and the necessary fixtures to enabled air conditioning in the house. we went with Bryant middle tier for better sound damping. we were kept in the loop at all times. the work was done neatly and on time. I would definitely go with them again in the future

Description of Work: The technician called me if he could come early as he was running early, which was welcome. Was quite professional and did his work without any hassle. I had another problem with a missing bolt, which he mentionedhe will come back later and fix, but never did. Other than that, no complaints.

I did not check with them about the efficiency of the water heater they offered through their Angie's List special and didn't learn that until the time of installation. The water heater in the special is not an efficient model but the price was certainly exceptional! |A few days after the installation I was getting a slight gas odor. I called them and they came out the next day to fix it. I'd recommend them.

I selected them over another highly rated business after reading the other business had to routinely charge to get people up to code since I had an old furnace. No extra fees except the tax the have to collect. |They scheduled the service right away, were friendly and professional, arrived on time, and did a great installation. I am very happy with my new water heater!

Description of Work: He replaced the vent on my roof for the gas furnace and hot water heater. Patrick was great. Offered to help me move large boxes out of the way so he could access my attic. When he was done he showed my all the parts he replaced and explained what he had done. The service was so impressive I arranged for him to return the following week to do a furnace tune up!
