Update! STILL BUYER BEWARE! Hemley Septic is no longer the old Hemley Sepetic! This experience lasted from May 2022-Aug 2022. But is finally behind us. We had not had any problems with our septic system since we bought our home in 2013. However, we were selling and needed to get it inspected. We called Hemley and the inspector said it appeared we had roots in the line. Derek from Hemley showed up and my husband was with him the entire time. Derek and his partner were knowledgeable and professional answering all questions. We all assumed this might be a problem, however, after a few pokes with the hose they cleared 40’ of laterals east and 25’ and 20’ west. We were all surprised at how easy it was to get it cleared. My husband asked Derek if he wanted to recheck flow through the septic tank. Derek said no, it was fine and we were good to go. Derek said HE would file the report then left. My husband however did a follow up check and ran the water for 15min, turned it off and watched it drain quickly. Our line was cleared and we thought we were good to go. We moved forward with having sod laid. THEN THE PROBLEMS BEGAN. A month later NO REPORT filed. We called WAY TOO MANY times trying to get that done. Finally it is filed and says deficient! REALLY??? The woman in the office says we need to replace our septic system!! She was never at our property! We were told the complete opposite from Derek on site. It appears that Derek does not file his own reports. Some girl in the office does. She read roots impacted and suddenly she thinks she knows what took place. Did she check with Derek? Apparently not. We called WAY TOO MANY TIMES AGAIN to try to reach Derek just so she could hear from her coworker and the person who actually did the work what actually took place. She was not interested in what was real. Her only interest appeared to be making sure she was not wrong. We finally get Derek’s phone number and he remembered our site and yes we were fine and HE will refile the report. WELL IT IS REFILED AS DEFICIENT again. We make WAY TOO MANY PHONE CALLS and this office worker says she is not changing the report! WHO IS SHE, she NEVER came to the property and has just decided to dig her heels in. Apparently she can never make a mistake! Talk about the wrong person to file reports for something they were not involved in. BIG MANAGEMENT MISTAKE! Our calls are never directed to the owner for any type of resolution. We emailed saying we would appreciate their coming out with Derek and a county inspector and if the line is not good we will pay for the visit. If the line is good they will refile the report and leave our property in the condition it was in when they arrived. We never heard back on what seemed a very reasonable option to resolve this. This is too much aggravation to have to put up with while trying to sell your home. DON’T TAKE THE RISK, just because Derek knew what he was doing and did a good job doesn’t mean your work is done. The BACK OFFICE DOES NOT CARE, is not interested in listening, does not relay calls, is rude and makes HEMLEY the WRONG COMPANY TO WORK WITH. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! This disaster has been going on for over 3 months on something that was resolved on the day they showed up and were paid in full! THEY DON”T CARE ABOUT DOING WHAT IS RIGHT. Hemley’s did NOTHING to make this right. However, the health department came out and checked the system, saw there were no problems and provided a letter of approval. NONE OF THIS HAPPENED because of input from Hemley. There are other BETTER options for having your septic worked on, using people that actually care is a great place to start. BUYER BEWARE.
