I am greatly disappointed by the product and the company?s service. LeafFilter North has not completed what was promised in their contract. 1. Downspouts not cleaned and realigned. The contract specified they would clean and realign all downspouts. They attempted only one (1) of sixteen (16). Their website ( http://www.leaffilter.com/about/leaffilter-installation/) specifies that installation will include ?Step 2: Clean and Realign Downspout.? After partially attempting to clean one downspout, they advised that the bottom was blocked and they simply didn?t continue. Their promise was not completed. 2. Homeowner Inspection Certificate not received. Their website specifies their final step is ?We will walk the perimeter of your property along with you to inspect the completed work and to answer any question or concerns you may have. You will then receive our Homeowner Inspection Certificate that guarantees a satisfactory installation.? They did not complete this inspection with me so I did not get to approve the installation. I would not have approved if I had been given the chance. I have never received a Lifetime Transeferrabe Warranty 3. Subcontracted Company and no response to complaints. LeafFilter was not the company that came to install the product. I was never told that they would use another company to do the job. If I knew I would not hire them. I called the day of the installation to complain that the job had not been completed properly. My first call reached a LeafFilter salesman JB, but he hung up on me. My second call reached a regional manager. He promised that he would personally come to check the work. He did not show up at the scheduled appointment time. He called after the appointment time had passed to eschedule. He did not show up for that appointment either. There was no call, no explanation after that. LeafFilter North has not followed through on their promises. 4. Improper installation. The product was installed poorly in comparison to the workmanship promised on their website and promised by the salesman. There are gaps between the guard system and the roof. There is damage to the roof in several places. They made poorly measured cuts to the fascia board exposing the wood to the elements which will cause rot. Please see the attached are photos of the poor product installation on my property. 5 Product failure. The system has not worked. I?ve since found another customer complaint that echoes my experience: ?I know the guarantee says "nothing but water" in the gutters, but it should say "Not even water" in the gutters" ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/leaffilter-redmond) LeafFilter gives a ?lifetime guarantee? but their installation was never completed properly so the system didn?t work from day one! The promises and claims of this product and the LeafFilter company have fallen short. Attached are photos that show how the leaves sit on top of the gutters to block the water get into the gutters. I have come to the conclusion that I have spent $13,509.59 on the supposed to be the number one gutter system that was installed improperly by LeafFilter North (through a subcontractor) that has not responded to my complaints. I am devastated to discover that this company, their product and their promises are fraudulent. Please learn from my lesson! I wish I could insert some pictures to show how bad the installation was and why this system is not working.

The initial install went cleanly, or so we thought. In less than two years we began seeing that the leaf protection system was failing by our standard. The filter was not "blowing off and staying clean" but was constantly clogging as the leaf debris from the cedars and trees in our neighborhood fell upon and washed down the roof. We had a whole section of the gutter detach and another section fell and almost struck my wife on her head. In both cases it took a few phone calls to get someone out here. the crew that they sent were amiable enough, and they replaced all the screws holding the gutters with longer ones - it seems that the wrong size screws had been used during the initial install. They also caulked the screws holding the filter to the outer edge of the gutter, claiming that would help prevent the debris from catching and backing up. One year later, water continued to pour over the side and in response to a call from us we were informed that their warranty covered that the gutter would not clog. The fact that the gutter was not clogging because most of the water was simply cascading over the side was not covered by the product warranty, Dur to the path the water was taking all along the gutters we had trails of dirt as the small dirt on the roof would wash over the side and stick to the gutter. It looks terrible and neighbors have remarked upon it. They did send someone out to clean the screen and he left us with an extendable telescoping brush to "lightly brush the filters". Well, for the last two years I was brushing the debris off the gutter regularly, 3 times a year, and the screens are still clogged. This fall, after the foliage dropped we had the roof cleaned using compressed air and paid extra for them to blow the screens clear. At this stage, 3 months later, the rains are cascading over the sides of the gutter in both heavy rain and light rain. I am about to find estimates from other companies and I am not going to be putting up a leaf guard of any type. Turns out every warranty I have seen does not cover the ability of the product to continue to impair the functionality of the gutter. the warrantees only cover that the product will not allow dirt to clog the gutter. For the extra $3,000-$4,000 I can have the system cleaned out 10x and not have to worry about the ugly look of the dirt streaked gutters or about the damage being caused by miserable products.

I had the Leaf Filter system installed by another company that no longer provides service for Leaf Filter. I then had a leak with water coming behind one of the gutters. I called the national company and was given this company. After 3 phone attempts, finally got someone to come out. They installed a "sheild" which did not solve the problem. 3 more calls and then came out again and "caulked" the area. That seemed to work for a few months (summer so no rain so really don't know). First big rain of the fall and it leaked again. 3 more calls and finally got a phone call back. owner tried to problem solve over the phone, I texted him photos at his request and never heard back. Time to move on to a company that may actually solve the problem without the run around.

The job was not accomplished and as such I cancelled the order. We had this service scheduled for 10 September 2013, with a show up time between the hours of 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. The company did not call the day before, as advised, to confirm the installation. At 3:00 PM I called the 800 service number to see what was happening with the installation. The company representative advised me that there was apparently a miscommunication and the installers had arrived at my house at 9:00 AM and realized the ladders they had were not of sufficient length and departed without even knocking on the door to let us know they were here. No one from the company contacted us to advise us of this problem and I really question if they showed up at all. The operations manager did contact me and apologized for the mix up and requested a new installation date to be set up. I declined this as we had already cancelled plans to meet this installation date and we felt that we could no longer trust this company. As a side note the initial bid for the 80 feet of gutter guard installation started at $2700.00, before fair discounts, and we ended up on an agreed amount of $1266.00 after several price reductions. Be cautious of this company taking advantage of you.

The salesman was very forthright with everything, very good job of selling the product. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for. The install went as planned, they were very clean, polite & professional. Very pleased with the job!

Leaf Filter is the top rated gutter system according to a Consumer Reports review in 2010. It is too bad this company has to resort to such a phony sales pitch to sell their product. When the saleman started, the price was around $8,000 for gutters and the gutter protection system. I was never "quoted" that price, but I showed him my quote from Leaf Guard which was half that. He said something to the effect that Leaf Filter was good but not cheap, and I was looking at double Leaf Guard's price. I sat through his lengthy pitch. Every time I said it was too much, there was some sort of discount available that would deduct $500 - $1000 from the price. The first time I said no, it was just too much for gutters, he made a call. It was obvious that I was supposed to overhear the call, because when I got up while he was on the phone and went into the house, just when I came back out he was saying "so, is there anything more we can do for Janet?". I again walked around the back of the house, not paying any attention to him on the phone. When I returned again, just as I was coming around the corner he said "so, is there anything more we can do for Janet?". Of course there was - that call got me another $1000 or so off the price. But the price was still too steep, so he made another call. How lucky that this guy was just about to place a Commercial order that I could "piggy-back" off of. That would get me another $1000 off the cost. But I would have to agree to give them a review and put up a sign in my yard advertising they had installed my gutters. And oh....since he had to get that Commercial order submitted right away, I would have to accept within 45 minutes. Now we were down to $4200 (without sales tax). At that point, I said ok and signed the paperwork. This was a Friday and he scheduled the installation for the following Monday. As soon as he left, I knew I had been had and I quickly called and cancelled the order per the 3 day cancellation period. I also sent them a letter of cancellation per their contract. Sunday I got a call from the regional manager saying since he had already ordered and received my gutters, that he was willing to give them to me at cost if I would accept. That would knock another $1000 off the price. So, the price started loosely at around $8000 and in the end I could have got them for $3200. And I probably could have negotiated it down further. BUT. This is how I feel: When I have someone come out to give me a quote, I expect an honest quote the first time. Why would I do business with a company with so little integrity that they would try to sell me their product for so much more than it is worth. It is really too bad that with such a good product, the company has to try and take advantage of people.

Their service was great. I have used their product before and like it. They gave us a fair price and did a good job.

After I got an estimate from another gutter company leaf filter came back with a cost that was half of their original estimate and scheduled the installation for that week. Installation was completed in 1 day. So having multiple estimates for basically the same type product saved me quite a bit of money.

In the end, it turned out great. There were a couple problems originally. We called them and they came right out and fixed any issues. Overall, their service was very good and they had a competitive price.

They were very prompt and professional with the installation. They cleaned up after themselves.I have not had any problem and I am very pleased with the product and the contractor.

I thought they did an excellent job and did exactly what they said they would do. Some of the parts he removed from the gutter to place the new leaf guards were tossed on the lawn. But, that was fine, we got it worked out. It was pouring down rain when he was working. I have nothing bad to say about them and would definitely use them again.

Not much of a story, it went well. As this is not the rainy season we have no experience on how the system works.

They had excellent customer service and also an excellent pruduct.

They were fine and they did good job. They came over, talked to us and did it. I wasn’t at home when they put it in. They cleaned up after themselves. They worked with us. They were okay and were a good company. The price was good. The quality is good and I haven’t had any problems so far. They were here when they were supposed to be. I think they came within a half hour or 15 minutes when they quoted. If I had a different house I might use them again in the future.

I joined Angie's List while at the Everett Home Show, saw an exhibit for Leaf Filter, talked to the staff there and the next morning had a surprise phone call from the local Leaf Filter company. The new franchise owner, Dan Southland, made an appointment to come to my home to see what repairs needed to be done before installing LF gutters. We agreed on the total job: installing fascia boards all around, removing a fallen 40'+ fallen gutter, replacing entire house with new gutters equipped with Leaf Filter screening, and full clean up. One workman volunteered to do a minor repair found around the chimney if I would buy the supplies. I dashed off to the hardware store and bought what he needed. The crew arrived in the early afternoon, later than planned, and they phoned to ask if that delay would be a problem. The truck to transport the 40'+ gutter was not available. The delay didn't impact me and they apologized several times. The LF crew worked for 6 hours straight, setting up a mobile workshop in the driveway, and getting right to work. Some new workers arrived and others left during the day but the work didn't stop. They cleaned up completely after they finished. I paid them after the job was completed as requested and I looked it over (from the ground). The owner, Dan Southland, came by during the day to supervise. I don't anticipate having to hire them again once LF is installed but I have recommended them to neighbors and friends. * I heard a strange noise during a rain storm and went all over inside the house trying to locate what sounded like a water leaking somewhere. It turned out the sound I heard was only rainwater passing through the gutters and descending into the downspouts! That's how long I had had clogged gutters. Now I have a rain barrel to collect rainwater to use in my shrub gardens. I am very pleased.

The installation went fine. Two employees did it from the roof in a couple of hours. Lead person was courteous and knowledgable. After 6 weeks the gutters seem to keep tree debris out of the gutters. However the wind does not blow the material off the filters as suggested by the contractor. I do it with a leaf blower from the roof and have done it about 3 times in the past six weeks of fall heavy tree needle and leaf fall. My roof is low pitch so this is possable without much risk. This is not ideal but still safer and easier than cleaning gutters from the roof of a two story building. I believe when the pollens fall in the spring the mesh screens will need to be brushed once or twice. The contractor agreed. One issue I have with this is that while this may be a good system it is still a lot of money for a small amount of materials and not too much labor. I have only had about 1/3 of our gutters done to see if after a year or so I think they are worth the money. So far I am pleased to have solved the most unsafe portion of cleaning my gutters. Since my gutters and downspouts lead to an underground drain line I am also pleased to have stopped tree material from entering and plugging up the drains.
