+ -1 moreI cannot thank Active Septic Solutions enough for their help. I had sewage backing up into my showers. They showed up the same day and fixed the problem within 24 hours. They also made sure I really understood my system, the cost of repairs and set me up on an annual maintenance plan. I couldn't have been happier.
Description of Work: Our septic motor burned out and we needed it replaced and our tank pumped.

+ -1 moreOriginally did not get a return call, but just called the owner back and received a pretty quick phone call back from the employee. At that point everything went very well. Was offered the opportunity to do some of the digging to keep costs down. Very reasonably price and very good service once we connected.
Description of Work: Repaired and re-routed pvc pipe going out to drainfield. Re-situated motor. Did a full inspection for the county.

+ -1 moreAfter noticing air bubbles gurgling up in our downstairs toilet, I contacted Active Septic on Monday night. I emailed contact information as requested and was told to expect someone Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday afternoon no one showed up, my calls weren't answered, my voicemail wasn't returned, and my email wasn't returned. Wednesday about 10:30am a technician called to see if I still needed service. I didn't. I realize that sometimes things come up. A call would have helped me manage my family schedule better, especially because with septic problems, we weren't using the plumbing. C for responsiveness: the original call was handled well, all other contact was not. D for punctuality: no one showed up when they were scheduled to.
Description of Work: No service was provided, I went with another company.

+ -1 moreOverall I don't feel competent to say whether work needed was performed adequately or not but in May the alarm again went off, didn't stop and no toilet had been running. We called a different company that said the float was rubbing and needed rehanging. Maybe my best suggestion would be to be home when work is done and supervise it and learn what this all means so you know if they really do the work or not. I found it strange that an estimate to do the work was $130 but work done was only $40. Did that first estimate only cover the service call charge and the work would be free? Was he giving us a good deal the second time because he'd forgotten to come back before when authorized? Could a rehung float be rubbing and set off an alarm in only two months?
Description of Work: We'd been switched to this company for our maintenance agreement when the installer stopped doing this work. Active been out routinely in 09 and 12/2010. At that last inspection he wrote that the pump needed rehanging for an estimate of $130. We were not home when routine maintenance was done so phoned to authorize the additional work. He didn't come do it. Then in March the alarm went off. A toilet had been running so we were told to wait 24 hours. It didn't go off so he was asked to come out. He looked inside and said it was almost drained enough for the alarm to shut itself off and so nothing needed to be done. I then reminded him about the rehanging of the pump float he'd said needed to be done in Dec. and he went back to look inside and said it did need doing and apparently did it. ( I have no idea what to look for to see if something like this needs doing or is done.) He billed us $186, $130 for a service call and $40 for the additional work.

+ -1 moreHe also mentioned that because of standing ground water that I would need a drainage system installed. I will be having them back in July to do that work when the ground is dryer. They have some communication problems however. The owner was contacted a couple of times and did not return my call promptly. I also had to ask the techs helpful to please not smoke.
Description of Work: Fixed the pump and the disconnect. Something near the pump which tells the pump to pump was not working.
