Description of Work: The person who came home measured 90% of the windows, asked where my wife is etc before finishing it off. He said he cannot continue the measurement and *will not* show me what products they had and offer unless “all decision makers” were home. He was condescending and said it was a waste of his time. He expects customers to make decisions to spend $20,000+ on the spot because we’d be “wowed” by his presentation. That was completely unprofessional and if anything he could’ve asked me that 30 minutes earlier when he came home. I had one such experience a few years ago (different company) and wasted 5 hours of my time with my spouse before the high pressure sales guy left the home. He would’ve done exactly the same to us. Description of Work: Recently my wife and I had 2 - 36” x 48” windows in our garage and laundry room replaced by Harley Exteriors. This was not the first time we have had Harley Exteriors replace windows. Back in June of 2012 we had a 10’ x 6’ window replaced, two - 8’ sliding doors replaced and three - 36” x 48” bedroom windows replaced. Our experience was unbelievably great on both occasions. The installers were on time, they kept us informed as to the process and made sure that if we had questions they were answered. They finished the installation quickly and in less time than we were told it would require. They left our home clean and dirt free. Additionally, during the last installation of the two small windows, the installer pointed out to me an area above the laundry room window that could potentially be a problem if not repaired. I would highly recommend Harley Exteriors to all my friends and family if they are planning to replace any windows. The quality of the windows are great and the installation team and sales staff are first rate.

Description of Work: They installed 2 sliders and kitchen window over sink area. They were professional, courteous and neat. The only problem was they were not the style we ordered and had to come out and reinstall the correct style of windows at a later date. The bottom line is that I would recommend them to others and use them myself again in the future.

+ 0 moreWe filled in cards at the Home & Garden Show. Five companies called us immediately, and we interviewed four different companies in one week. All offered free estimates (their prices were all high and about the same) and said if we signed today we would get 10% off because we went to the show. We originally chose another company, but Harley offered us a more competitive price. We actually liked Harley's window design best and felt most comfortable with the salesperson. The salesman, Rob Silva, was professional and courteous. He listened and responded well, giving us the information we needed to make our decision. Their contact people kept in touch with us before the work began, scheduled the date and answered our remaining questions. Justin, Jordan, and Jim removed and disposed of the old and installed the new windows and door quickly and professionally, and cleaned up in seven hours. They did a very good job. The windows look beautiful, and we would definitely use their services again.
Description of Work: Replaced three medium-sized sliding windows, two large picture windows, sliding glass door, and four sliding windows in the basement. Replaced all ten windows with sliders. All old windows and doors were aluminum, replaced with vinyl.

+ 0 moreIt started off ok, but then the salesman became kind of pushy. He gave us a "Home Show discount," but in the end, it seemed like the initial prices were inflated, so the end price was not that great. AND after we spent about 3 hours laying out the plan, he told us that we could only get that price if we signed up right then and gave him a substantial down payment check. At that point, the high pressure got to us and we signed up. We had another estimate the next day, saw that Harley's prices weren't that great, and canceled the work. All in all an unpleasant experience. The salesman that came was not one of their regular salesmen. He said he was filling in as they were so busy.
Description of Work: We got an estimate for replacing nearly all of the windows in our two-story 2700 sq ft house. We wanted to change one large window into a French door. Add one small window to a bedroom. Replace the sliding door and greenhouse window.

+ -1 moreTheir representative, Shane, met with us in our home and provided estimates for 3 different sets of windows we were considering replacing. He provided us with his personal email address in case we had additional questions. I emailed him with some questions and he responded by phone within an hour, and visited us again to finalize the deal. Work was to begin in about 3-4 weeks. About 3 weeks later, we were contacted by Robin, who would be in charge of the installation. She was always friendly and helpful. She coordinated with our roofer, since some of the windows are just above the level of our carport, and there have been issues with the seal of the carport's membrane roof just below the window level. The installation crew was on time, clean and friendly. We were pleased with the quality of the installation, particularly with the large basement window, in that they had to replace some rotten wood adjoining the window opening.
Description of Work: Harley replaced 12 old aluminum-frame single-pane windows, including 1 large (approx 4' x 4') and 5 small picture windows, 1 large (approx. 3' x 5') basement window, 4 large openable windows (each approx. 2' x 5'), and 1 small openable window (approx 2' x 2'). All windows were replaced with their Olympic vinyl double-pane windows.

We had some minor complaints about split siding, but when we contacted them they promptly came and took care of the problem. We were missing a special lock for the sliding glass door and they have scheduled a date to return and install. Once the lock has been installed I believe that we have received an excellent product and the experience was a good one.

+ 0 moreSlow and sloppy. I began working with Harley in June but the windows weren't installed until the end of Oct. The initial estimator didn't account for potential structural issues by replacing a window & a door with 2 sliding doors which required someone else to come out. A few days before the installation, I was informed that the windows had never been ordered due to confusion about the concrete cutting. This was resolved & install set for early Nov. Upset, I asked the president of the company to call me but he never called. A week later, the install date was moved up a week to the end of Oct. Day 1, they only worked 4 hrs & had to rush to complete the rest of the job. The installers were sloppy & badly gouged the interior wood trim on almost the windows. One sliding door, they damaged the trim (which was replaced) and ruined the wall paint. On the exterior, caulking was applied haphazardly and now I have to have the house painted around all the window/door openings.
Description of Work: Replaced 12 windows and a sliding door in the house, converted one regular door to a sliding door, and one bedroom window to a sliding door. Some concrete cutting was required which required hiring a concrete cutter.

THE JOB WAS COMPLETE IN TWO DAYS THE INSTALLERS WERE CAREFUL TO KEEP CARPETS AND FLOORS CLEAN AND PROTECTED WHILE THEY WORKED AND ALL MESSES WERE CLEANED WHEN FINISHED. I NEVER KNEW THEY WERE THERE. EXCEPT, OF COURSE, BY MY NEW, BEAUTIFUL WINDOWS.
