No service performed. I wasn't interested in their product. I'm writing this review to warn consumers of their unprofessionalism and harassment.

We purchased windows after viewing product at a home show and meeting with sales representative in our home. We were extremely impressed with the product, knowledge of sales representative, and cost. However, the real impression was made by the installation crew. It has been years since we have experienced such pleasant and punctual contractors. They were very professional, considerate of our property, and did an excellent job removing and installing all windows. If this weren't enough, when they were finished and left, we could not even tell they had been there. There was not a single piece of garbage or material left anywhere. We will use Harley again when we tackle our next remodeling project. Very, very excellent company!!

The salesman came in and was very thorough in his sales pitch. He showed us various types of windows and went over the pro's and con's of each type. We the bought windows that day. We were told it would be 4-8 weeks for our windows. I think they were ready in about 3. The installers came in and were very professional and efficient in their installation. We love our windows and couldn't be happier. Also, the financing portion went very smoothly.

Our salesman, Jason, was most friendly and took a lot of time to explain and demonstrate the various options and features for our window replacement project. We chose to purchase the Custom Design brand which were the most energy efficient of the products demonstrated. Vlad, the window installer, did an excellent job installing the windows. The installation took about 3 days in early January. There were a total of 22 windows of various sizes and two sliding patio doors. The old windows were removed, and all debris was hauled away. The area around the house was kept neat and clean. We have waited 3 months before writing this letter to gather electric usage for a three month KWH usage comparison. Our house is total electric. While the KWH usage does not appear to be much different from the previous year (6.6% lower), we have noticed that the windows do not sweat, the house is quieter, and there are less drafts. We believe that once we have a complete year's data, we will have a better idea of the full effect the new windows have on our energy usage.

At end of first sales call, we informed them that the estimate was too high. We got a call back a week later offering us a reduced price. The salesman returned and we gave him a deposit of $5000 so they would honor this reduced price for a year. It was our understanding that if we did not go with them we could get our money back. We then got another estimate and were advised that the glazing on all of our windows most likely had asbestos, a hazardous material which requires expensive abatement procedures. The state has specific requirements for work done on buildings with asbestos ... see their webpage http://www.lni.wa.gov/TradesLicensing/LicensingReq/Asbestos/default.asp We could not find Harley Exteriors on the list of certified contractors http://www.lni.wa.gov/Safety/Topics/AtoZ/Asbestos/contractorlist.asp We have decided that we cannot replace our windows because: 1. We are concerned that the brick exterior of our home might be damaged during the demolition. It is our understanding that we would have to repair at our own expense. 2. We are concerned that the marble window sills which are on all of our windows might be damaged because of their age . Again, we believe that all repairs would be at our expense. 3. We are worried about the hazard of disturbing the glazing on the old windows. We did not make an appointment for measuring when the company's measurement contractor called. We called and cancelled our order and requested a refund. It is our understanding that no measurements were done by Hartley, so we believe no windows were ordered or manufactured. Hartley exteriors did not do any work and we believe there is no reason not to refund our deposit. My last contact with the company was when a woman called to say that her boss asked her to contact me on May 13. She told me they would not refund my deposit. She seemed to misunderstand the three day recision requirement because she told me that it is illegal in the State of Washington to refund a deposit after three days. She insisted that I had to get my windows replaced and that would be the best thing for me, not a refund. The woman on the phone was extremely insistent and I believe was very rude . I believe they should provide me with a refund. I think it is simply the right thing to do...... no service was povided and they should give me a refund. I do not think that it is wise to replace my windows because of possible damage to my home and/or causing a health hazard.

The meeting with the representative, who I wont name, went very poorly. He arrived late, and comes off as pushy and crude. He is insistent on forcing you to sit through his rehearsed sales pitch of a product that I explicitly stated I was not interested in. Which is annoying, but I understand a business trying to make a sale, so that I can forgive. What I cannot abide by is what he did for an estimate. He pulled out a yellow legal pad of paper, and made up a bunch of numbers on his calculator, making a big show trying to make everything seem official. He offered the job at roughly $8900. Which, in my opinion is outlandish to install 3 windows, and about 10 sq ft of siding. When i declined, he pulled the old used car salesman approach. "well, what can you afford?" "If i told you i could save you about 25% would you still be interested?" My wife and I look at each other, confused, and she asks Jason "what do you mean?" He proceeds to take the legal pad back and make some more phony calculations on it, scribbles down $7200 or something, draws an X with a line next to it, hands it back to us, and smugly states, "All I need is a signature there to lock in those savings!"... so confident that we are so foolish to accept his con. When i refused again, he threatened that if he leaves that price will disappear with him. This guy was a complete joke. I strongly hope that he is not indicative of the entire company. The lack of professionalism, pushy salesman, and disregard for what i was looking for as a customer is what leads me to write this review today. I asked for an official bid, printed, neat and tidy, and he tells me "Oh no we don't do that". Okay buddy... Nice try... this is the kind of salesman that takes advantage of the uninformed, or elderly.

Meeting with Harley Exteriors went very smoothly; we had several estimates, we listened to pitches from Sears, Champion Windows, among a few others, but were convinced by both the quality of the Harley product, and the reputation of the company. Todd, the Sales Representative, was both personable and very knowledgeable. Scheduling the installation was a breeze and super fast. We called Harley to inform them that they'd won the bid and met with Todd again for a final measuring on the evening of October 19th. We informed him that we'd like the windows installed as soon as possible. The windows were custom built and installed just 36 hours later on the morning of the 21st. I didn't think that fast of a turnaround, for such a high quality product, was possible. It took the crew but a few hours to remove the old windows and install new ones. Removal, installation, & cleanup were complete & the installers were very personable, describing every step of the process to our overly intrigued 6 year old son. We only replaced 6 of our windows and a sliding glass door in 2011, but the impact of these energy efficient new windows in our 40 year old home has been substantial. Gone are the cold nights and drafty bedrooms. Gone is the foggy condensation on the interior of the windows. Between the energy efficiency tax breaks, the reduction in our heating bill, and the increase in our home value, this has been a wonderful, stress-free investment. Now, two and a half years later, we are looking to replace the remaining old windows in our home. Without hesitation, we will return to Harley Exteriors. It was a wonderful, professional, & satisfying experience.

Other than buying windows in January, (pretty cold to have the house open) the installation went well, everything was cleaned up and looked great. The windows were expensive. The biggest problem we had was with the gentleman who came to give us the estimate. He clearly did not know what he was doing; he came up with a price to replace our kitchen windows as well that seemed too low. We actually had to argue with him and show him his error to get him to admit he made a mistake. He probably would have lost his job if we had not made him aware of his error. It would have been nice to get such a deal, but we're not that sort of people.

The windows (European vinyl windows) have been great. They do keep indoor temperatures warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, which makes heating our home more efficient. The windows also drastically reduce outside and street noises. We definitely noticed a difference and have been very happy with them. They are also easy to clean and keep clean. Also all the installation work was very nice. The windows were installed and sealed into place and looked like they were always there.

Timely, professional, instructional interaction.

Two installers came to my home. They arrived on time and got to work immediately. My home was build in 1959 and the window size and framing was "custom." The installers did all the necessary work to fit the new windows into the framing. They finished in about 2 1/2 hours. The windows look great and I am very happy with the quality of the windows and the installation.

Harleys employees from the sales person to the installers and the office personnel were all very friendly and courteous. Harley's first priority was our satisfaction. The installers were polite, clean and efficient. The windows are very high quality and keeps our home so warm in the Winter and nice and cool in the Summer. I highly recommend Harleys Exteriors!

They are an amazing company! They took the time to make sure we received the windows that we wanted. The windows are beautiful with a lifetime warranty and they make a Huge difference on keeping our house warmer in the winter too. The workers were punctual and had the work complete in 1 day! After we painted the outside of the house you would never had know that we had major construction done for new windows. They did an excellent job matching up inside and out!

My wife and I just had our windows installed a couple weeks ago. The Harley Exterior gang from the sales staff to the Owner Christian to their installation crew have been nothing but courteous and professional. Our sales person Jason spent about half of his evening bending over backwards to put us in the best window/sliding door package available at pricing and financing that we could afford. The group also worked with us when we found out that we didn't qualify for the Puget Sound Energy Rebate. My wife is due with our first child any day and we wanted to upgrade our home to provide a safe, warm home for our little Carter whne he arrives. We both notice a huge difference already in our home since the installation and the furnace doesn't need to turn on nearly as often because the temperature stays more even in the house. Not only has this increased our home value, but we love the new look of our windows every time we drive up into our drive way.

Outstanding! We came into the process as neophytes.Our Harley rep was very patient in educating us on the various types of windows available allowing us to make informed decisions. The installers did an excellent job with the windows and went well beyond by caulking some siding areas that were on a side with no windows! Their clean up was done with care and respect for the property and done promptly. The appearance and overall curb appeal could not have been better. We immediately noticed an improvement in both lower sound level and decreased heat transfer at the end of summer. When winter arrived we were in for a very pleasant surprise..........Lower heat bills! The maintenance and upkeep are very easy, a little soap and water. Overall we would say that our experience with Harley Exteriors and their installers couldn't have been better.

I highly recommend Harley Exteriors. We had windows installed in 2 waves. The first time was 2 years ago and we got 6 new windows, basically all the old ones that had lost the seal, were foggy or leaking. I noticed a difference especially in my room. Harley Exteriors gave us a guarantee to use the special promotion for 2 years so this summer I realized we needed to check back in and see if it was still available. Harley honored the discount and we contracted for 11 more windows. From the original sales person who showed us a demonstration of the benefits of the windows, to the helpful staff in the office, to the excellent installers, our experience has been very satisfying and not only that, we have excellent windows adding a great look to the house and we are warmer! I especially like that we are supporting a local family business and the lifetime guarantee that extends to the next owner. Than you Harley Exteriors!

Harley Exterior installed a total of 19 windows for us in two waves, 8 windows the first round, 11 the second. In both instances, the installation was done correctly and properly (no after installation leaks, drafts, etc). Also the installers were professional, courteous and quick both times. As a result, we experienced a significant cost savings to our electric bill in addition to having an upgrade of better windows from the previous 1970?s single pane aluminum framed windows originally installed on our home and the fact these windows have a lifetime warranty is added assurance to its quality. Plus they look better?

The entire experience with the Staff at Harley's was exceptional!! What a wonderful group of people to work with. We first met some of their sales staff at the Home Remodel Show in Seattle. They were extremely professional and helped us understand all the "ins and outs" of replacing old windows. The estimator that came out to look at the "project" couldn't have been nicer. He was here on time, explained all of our options (we even re-configured some of the windows) and was a pleasure to work with. Six weeks later we met the most FANTASTIC crew of workmen that I have ever had work on the house. Tony, the foreman made himself available to us for any questions etc. at all times of the day or evening. Communication, what an awesome concept!!!!!!! The neighbors were so impressed with the work that Harley did, THEY had them install windows, doors etc in their house too! Then my husband had this great idea about adding a window to one of our rec rooms in the basement, so we called Harley and Tony and his crew were here and did an excellent job of giving us light in a gloomy basement! We couldn't be more pleased with everyone from Harley Exteriors. We are now in the process of doing more to the house and yard, and I am quite sure we will be calling on the "crew" again when the time comes to change some windows around! Are we pleased???? We are SOOOO Happy with the results, saving heat, keeping the house cool this summer.....we can't say enough! JOB WELL DONE EVERYONE.

THE WINDOWS HARLEY PROVIDED ARE VERY HIGH QUALITY, MUCH CLEARER THAN THE ORIGINAL WINDOWS INSTALLED WHEN THE HOUSE WAS BUILT. AND, AS WE LOOK AT OVER THE SOUND, THE VIEW THESE NEW WINDOWS PROVIDE IS FAR SUPERIOR TO WHAT WE HAD PREVIOUSLY. WE RECEIVED QUOTES, AND LOOKED AT WINDOWS, FROM TWO OTHER VENDORS, AND THOUGH HARLEY WAS NOT THE CHEAPEST (THEY WERE IN THE MIDDLE), THE QUALITY OF THEIR WINDOWS WAS OBVIOUSLY BETTER, AND THE FRAMING AROUND THE WINDOWS HAD A SMALLER FOOTPRINT THAN WHAT THE OTHERS WERE OFFERING, SO BY CHOOSING HARLEY, OUR VIEW WAS MINIMALLY IMPACTED, AND WE HAD A HIGHER QUALITY OF GLASS. AND, THOUGH THE WINDOW FRAMING WAS SMALLER, IT WAS MORE RIGID THAN THE THICKER FRAMING OFFERED BY THE OTHER COMPANIES DUE TO THE WAY THE HARLEY FRAMES ARE CONSTRUCTED. ADDITIONALLY, WE TYPICALLY GET 60 MILE AN HOUR WINDS WHERE WE LIVE ON WHIDBEY ISLAND, SO HAVING WINDOWS, AND WINDOW INSTALLMENT, WITH A LIFE TIME GUARANTEE WAS IMPORTANT TO US. THE OTHER TWO COMPANIES, BECAUSE WE LIVE NEAR THE WATER, WOULD NOT GIVE US THIS TYPE OF GUARANTEE. WE HAD ONE INSTALLATION CONCERN ON ONE OF THE WINDOWS, SO THE OWNER CAME OUT WITH THE INSTALLER TO WORK WITH US. THE PROBLEM WAS MORE THAN SATSFACTORILY, AND PROMPTLY, RESOLVED. THEY COULDN'T POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN NICER OR MORE WILLING TO RESOLVE OUR CONCERNS. I WISH ALL COMPANIES HAD THEIR LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. WE ARE SO HAPPY WITH HARLEY EXTERIORS, AND THE QUALITY OF THEIR WINDOWS AND SERVICE, THAT WE ARE PLANNING ON HAVING THEM REPLACE OUR 30 YEAR OLD ROOF. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN WE BUILD ON THE PROPERTY THAT WE OWN NEXT TO OUR CURRENT HOUSE, WHICH WE WILL DO NEXT YEAR, WE WILL USE HARLEY EXTERIORS FOR ALL OF OUR NEW CONSTRUCTION WINDOWS. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND HARLEY EXTERIORS!

Having the sales guy out was a nightmare. The windows do look to be high quality, but the sales process is horrendous.

we are very happy with our windows. they are highly efficient. we have noticed a decrease in our heating bills in the winter months. they are highly efficient also in keeping our home cooler in the summer months. between the beautiful large thermal windows along with the windows that open for air circulation, our home is very comfortable year around. the consultants assisted us in choosing the perfect style of obscure windows for privacy in select areas, while still allowing light in those areas. the locking ability on the windows is easy to use and very secure, providing a sense of security. the installation team that came to our home was very professional, proficient, and knowledgeable. we would definitely recommend Harley windows ! thank you so much !

We were extremely satisfied from beginning to end of our entire transaction with Harley Exteriors this summer. The salesman was not pushy and worked well within our means of funds to pay for our new windows in which our 23 yr old house desperately needed. He found a reasonable funding source that we could afford each month. The installation was smooth and painless. The installers were pleasant, timely, and knowledgeable about their products, they gave us a brief overview of how the windows worked and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend Harley Exteriors for your windows. We have not had the opportunity to have other services performed, but will contact them when we do.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Harley Exterior's. When we decided that we wanted to replace our windows we were very uneducated, we knew that we wanted to get vinyl windows but had know idea on where to start. When we had the Harley Exterior sales rep come to our house he was right on time and started with my husband, I was not home yet from work, and then he restarted the whole pitch when I got home. He was so helpful on educating us on the different qualities of vinyl and glass. We had no idea of how important those kind of thing were and how much it effects the overall quality of the windows you choose to buy. After learning all about Harley Exteriors we were sold, we knew that we wanted to buy their product. We have 17windows, two sliding glass doors, and a garden window in our house so we knew that it was going to cost us a pretty penny to get new windows but didn't realize what good quality windows was going to cost us. After we got our quote we decided that we wanted to go with Harley Exterior but because of price decided we were going to have to wait a year and save up some of the money. Our sales rep was very polite and not pushy when we told him no he completely understood but said that he could make us an offer to split the cost of windows and purchase half now and the other half within 24 months. Once he offered us that we really felt that we couldn't refuse, we were able to buy the windows for the front side of our house where we get most of our sun exposer. It has made such a difference in the temperature of our house and our natural gas bill went down by half in one month! The installers were very quick and professional and made sure everything was to our linking before they left our house, they went around and fixed any scratches in the drywall, cleaned everywhere they worked, and the windows look beautiful we received so many compliments from our neighbors. We can't wait to get the rest of our house done. Thank you Harley Exterior for making our experience so pleasant and having such wonderful financing options.

The installer arrived exactly when he said that he would. He measured all the original windows first to make sure the replacement windows were the correct dimensions. He installed the two 2nd story old single pane window replacements first. Before he started tearing out the windows, he laid down drop clothes to catch the debris. I watched the entire process. He was really efficient and explained the whole process as he worked. The windows went in beautifully, everything was caulked, then he cleaned up all the debris and vacuumed. The installation of the larger aluminum framed window went equally well. It was fascinating to watch the installer do the install and check each window to make sure that it was functioning properly. It was interesting to see how he could adjust the frame installation to make sure that the windows slid properly without binding. The last window he replaced was an aftermarket garden window in one wall of the kitchen. He had a challenge to get it out of the framework. It was installed with a 2 " flang nailed to the exterior of the house and then covered with wood shingles. The person who put it in wasn't very intelligent. The window was only 32" by 32" and he had put 8 to 10 nails on every side. (My house is an old farmhouse with several less than stellar "improvements") The installer managed to finally get the window out but he had to repair some of the shingles that had broken because they were so old and brittle. After the window was installed, he suggested that a trim board around the window would improve the looks of the window. I agreed to the addition. He was right! It cleaned up the looks of the window significantly. I am truly impressed with the final look of all 4 windows. The most impressive is the garden window replacement. I know that the new window is the same dimension as the old one but it makes the inside of the kitchen look much bigger and brighter. I am extremely happy with my new windows.

The installation was very easy. We were surprised at what little prep work we had to do. Harley showed up with everything they needed to remove the old windows and install the new ones. The workers took great care to not damage the building siding, and to make sure everything fit snugly without any gaps. Each window fit perfectly into each opening with almost no adjustments needing to be made. They also were very good at working within our strict homeowner's association rules about the exterior appearance of the building. At the end of the day we had beautiful new windows, and there was not a single scrap of material left behind. Over the last year we have had no issues with moisture, sound, or drafts with any of our windows. The sliding doors and windows track very well and seal perfectly. Our heating and cooling costs have gone down significantly (the old windows were single pane with aluminum frames). We currently don't have any of our heaters on at all, even in the coldest of winter. The heat from our downstairs neighbor is enough to keep us warm. Overall, I would give Harley a very good rating for having a very high quality product, superior service, professional installation, and all the while being very price competitive with great financing options.
