Work was done very well, completed before noon on the same day the old water heater blew out. They cleaned up well, and communicated all I needed to know politely.

The service was prompt, skillful, and respectful. Mr. Smith explained all the details well, answered my questions respectfully and patiently, made what appeared to be good recommendations, completed the job in remarkably quick time, and cleaned up after the job was done. I would be glad to hire this company in the future.

Had to wait a couple of days for appointment without hot water, but it was worth it. Technicians arrived on time. The water heater located in attic made it somewhat difficult, but they were able to problem solve and get the job done. Left a few scrapes on paint, but otherwise did an excellent job. They gave us a discount as repeat customers so the price was alot cheaper than another estimate that we got.

I spoke with several different sales people at FAST and they were great about giving me quotes for several of the brands and models that I was interested in. Even if they were not available when I called to ask more questions, they always called me back. Everyone I talked to was friendly, polite and spoke English clearly. I chose a Rheem Fury water heater because it was advertised as being energy efficient and had higher quality materials that would make it last longer. I also checked out the FAST company website and found that a better warranty with labor as well as parts was offered there than was offered locally. They said that the website had not been updated to reflect the current FAST Water Heater Company's policy but that they would still honor the 15 year parts and labor warranty. They indicated that they could charge me for the water heater permit or I could pay less by going to city hall and getting it myself. When Rich came out and looked over the job he discovered several issues related to the plumbing that were of concern. He explained in detail why I might want to change the shut of valve, furnace venting, and some of the piping. He was honest about it and let me make the choice as to whether or not I wanted the various changes to be made. The plumbing was old and had not been installed by the most competent contractor originally, nor was it up to current code so I readily agreed to the extra work. I didn't need the headache of finding a leaky shut off value later! He was extremely efficient and went down the 10 point Installation checklist carefully so I could see that everything was well done. The city inspector came out the next day and everything met code. I feel safer knowing that my water heater was installed correctly and we won't have a problem with gas leaks.
Description of Work: Our house is 25 years old. We needed a new water heater because the last one that we purchased was 10 years old and just beyond its warranty. It wasn't heating the water consistently.

My hot water heater broke on a Friday afternoon, flooding my basement. Fast Water heater came out on Saturday ready to install a new one. I really appreciated that my service technician mentioned that I was an ideal candidate for installing a tankless system. He had the expertise to price it out and then checked availability of the product. I decided I could wait one more day for hot water and decided to go with the tankless water heater. The same technician came back Sunday morning, promptly at 9 am as scheduled! He was very courteous and professional. I'm very pleased with my new water heater and my experience working with Fast Water Heater. No extra costs for working on the weekend!

I contacted Fast Water Heater Company and wanted to know why our copper pipe was removed and replaced with cheaper parts. The company brought back some copper pipe but left us copper flex couplings that were old and had been cut off another heater. We figure our loss just for the copper was about $60. I checked with the City of Sedro Woolley Building Department to see if an expansion tank was part of the City code. I was told by the City compliance officer that the tank was not required at all unless the water pressure exceeds 80 psi. Our water pressure in Sedro Woolley is at 50 psi so no expansion tank is required. The work order even shows water presure tested at 70 psi, which is not possible in this city but below the code requirements anyway. We paid $159 for the expansion tank, $69 for bonding and grounding clamps, and $29 for the sediment trap. Our total loss is over $250 but what is most disturbing is the fact that we were lied to and tricked into paying for things we didn't need and that the service man that did the work stole our copper pipe and flex couplings. That is what really makes this a very bad experience.
Description of Work: Our six month old water heater failed and Fast Water Heater Company was called to replace the water heater as the warranty provider for Home Depot. The service man said the water heater had to be brought up to code and was told at that point to proceed. He cut off our copper piping and replaced it with plastic. He removed our new copper flex couplings and replaced them with galvanized. He also added an expansion tank to our system. Other items we were charged for were bonding clamps and a sediment trap.

For a bad situation, no hot water, Fast Water Heater, is the johnny on the spot! The receptionists were knowledeable, their records are excellent, the technician arrived ahead of schedule for the estimate and the work. When I was in shock over the estimate, he politely explained all that he had to do because of changes in the city codes. He was a good listener, answered all my questions, and was realistic about the time it would take. Because of the complicated nature of the work, he had to come back the next day. He arrived on time, he climbed into my cellar, built a wall, pulled out the old tank, dragged in the new one, earthquake strapped it to the new wall, and then when he was finished ahead of schedule, he explained it all again to me. He took me down into the cellar and showed me what he had done, and then got me a little discount on top of it all. Rich was his name and he was excellent.
Description of Work: From the time I called to report my brooken water heater, I was very pleased. The phone staff were able to locate the water heater which they had installed 10 years ago! They sent out Rich to give me an estimate within 2 hrs. He assessed the difficulty of the job, explained the additional work which he needed to do to bring it all up to the new horeline code, gave me the estimate, came back the next day with a new heater, built a wall, got rid of the old heater, put in the new one, made it earthquake proof, and explained it all before giving me the bill.

I want to share my pleasure in working with Fast Water Heater Company. I have managed support and implementation departments for years and while this does not make my opinion better or worse than anyone else?s, it has allowed me the opportunity to see a vast variety of customer service models at an in-depth level. I contacted Fast Water Heater Company and my call was answered promptly and courteously by Jos?. I never felt rushed as Jos? patiently answered my questions and I easily set up an appointment for an onsite estimate (I was even contacted after the onsite estimate was completed to see if I had any questions or comments). One of the aspects that I truly appreciated was that the person that came out to give the estimate was also the technician that would perform the work. Dennis explained to me in detail his recommendations on how the job should be completed including details on coding, gas output limitations and cost control. All of this information helped me feel informed and educated to make a decision. At the end of the estimate Dennis informed me of what dates he was available to perform the work. He completely understood when I said I wasn?t ready to make a decision and he encouraged me to contact the main office when I wanted to move forward with the work. There was never any pressure to commit right away. While I was very impressed with my experience, I still wanted to get multiple estimates. Doing so only strengthened my confidence in Fast Water Heater Company. Not only was the price that was quoted from the competitor substantially more, but they also failed to verify some basic items or offer explanations for the work proposed. The main focus of the competitor was to complete the estimate and have me commit to the work. At this point my choice was easy and I contacted Fast Water Heater Company to schedule the project. The work itself was on time and of high quality. After the install Dennis explained what he had done along with details of the system including settings and maintenance. The product itself works great and I am very pleased with my decision to use Fast Water Heater Company. From the initial person I spoke with to the completed installation of the product, all has been exceptional.
Description of Work: The service I needed was to have my electric tank water heater converted to a tankless gas water heater. Fast Water Heater Company was able to perform all of the work (Plumbing, Electrical, Gas) at a great price. The price of $2600 included all work needed including taxes and permits. Available rebates from the local utility company and tax credit will reduce this amount even more, but $2600 is what I paid at the end of the installation.

Fantastic! The service tech was incredibly professional, and clearly knew a lot about the field of work he is in. He did the job fast and it looks great... Furthermore, he gave me some great advice on how to save some money by going with a higher quality, and somewhat less expensive water heater. I am very pleased, and will definitely be recommending them to others.

At first I was very happy that Fast Water Heater came to my home quickly to repair my broken water heater. The technician quoted me significantly more than the original estimate to bring the heater up to code (which I had expected), and swapped out the heaters. We had hot water shortly after the technician left. The trouble started, however, when the inspection of the water heater FAILED, not once but twice, and in the end the inspector signed off on the inspection upon my promise to fix the last issue remaining. Fast Water Heater did not like that their work did not pass the City's inspection, yet they knew it had to before they came out. The charges to bring the heater up to code were significant, so you would think they would know what it takes to pass. After a repeat visit where not all the issues were addressed, the representative at Fast argued with me on the phone as to whether or not the heater would pass a subsequent inspection. After the third visit, they finally got it right. Too bad they didn't send the technician that had been to my home previously and made me want to use this company again. This experience has changed my mind about Fast Water Heater.

We replaced our water heater and of the four bids we received, Fast Water Heater Company was the most ethical, thorough and knowledgeable. Their installation went off without a hitch, AND they also saved us thousands of dollars! When?s the last time you read that about a contractor? After we discovered our old water heater?s small incontinence problem, we wanted to do our part for the environment by installing a high efficiency on-demand tankless water heater. An on-demand tankless system heats water?well??on-demand? or ?as needed?, as opposed to keeping 50 gallons at 120? 24x7 (more details about underpublicized tankless system facts below). We contacted the Puget Sound Contractor Referral Service, checked with neighbors, searched the Better Business Bureau website, and finally selected four of their reputable contractors for estimates. All four contractors extolled the virtues of tankless water heaters and promoted a $150 rebate from PSE along with a Federal tax credit (30% of the cost up to $1,500!). We were definitely leaning in that direction?until we collected all the facts. After speaking about the roughly doubled natural gas requirement, one contractor proposed installing a larger gas pipe from the meter into the house for $1,000. Another suggested upgrading our gas meter to one capable of handling a higher volume of gas. However, as we soon learned from Puget Sound Energy, if not enough gas is being supplied to the meter, neither a larger meter nor a bigger pipe into the house would make any difference. Only one of the four, Jason from Fast Water Heater Company, encouraged us to check with PSE to make sure enough gas could be supplied. He made it very clear that long-term satisfaction was their goal. On his advice, we spoke with a PSE representative who said that many contractors are installing tankless systems without checking their customers? gas supplies and, of course, those home owners are dissatisfied when their systems do not perform ?on demand? as advertised. Customers have been getting angry at PSE when contractors are truly to blame for not doing their due diligence to make sure the systems can perform as expected. The PSE rep was very impressed that we found someone who encouraged us to call and ask. That sealed our decision to go with Fast WHC. On the installation day, Jason arrived exactly when scheduled, took time to answer countless questions asked by the hovering homeowners, and before leaving patiently showed us some basic tips to extend the life of our new hot water heater. We were very pleased with entire process from the estimate through installation and would highly recommend them. Important Info about Tankless Water Heaters On demand tankless water heaters require about 200,000 BTU of gas to operate as advertised! (one might say their GAStronomic rapacity knows no satiety!) They require a lot of fuel when operating, but for a much shorter time than conventional tanks. When many neighborhood gas lines were installed, people did not anticipate the popularity of tankless hot water heaters and their voracious fuel requirements. As a result, many homes share a single gas connection. They are not sharing the cost though; each home only pays for the gas going through its meter. The single connection to the gas main can deliver around 450,000 BTU. If both homes have multiple gas appliances running simultaneously, they can easily exceed the amount of gas available. For example, gas appliances can use: Tankless H2O heater: 200,000 BTU Furnace: 100,000 BTU Cooktop/oven: 50,000 BTU Fireplace: 35,000 BTU Potential maximum: 385,000 BTU (or 770,000 for both homes) With a shared connection, it?s pretty easy to exceed the available 450,000 BTU. One alternative would be to pay around $3000 to have an additional gas line run from the gas main for your exclusive use. We elected to stay with a more conventional system for another 15 years or so until the natural gas infrastructure catches up. You may ask, how do I know that I have exceeded the capacity of my gas line? The appliance with the highest use suffers the most. That is, your expected ?unlimited hot water? supply suddenly goes cold (not gradually like with a tank, but instantly 55?groundwater cold like a light switch!). Although, who knows, you may come to find the unpredictable, icy bursts invigorating. :-)

I called Fast Water Heater Service when my hot water tank stopped working. The service tech came that day and said it was probably the thermostat. But my hot water tank was older and I was worried that it would soon totally stopped working. He replaced the thermostat and took the measurements for a new water heater. The thermostat only worked that night but the next day the service tech was there to replace the water heater. Good service and professional attitude..

They kept us informed about their search for the right water heater. After it had been located, they made an appointment to install it early the next morning. The work was very professional. The installer was very friendly and easy to work with.
Description of Work: Our electric water heater's controller burned out, giving us only water that was scorching hot. We turned the water heater off immediately that evening, noticing that it gave off a burnt odor. Early the next morning, we contacted Home Depot, who gave us Fast Water Heater Company's contact info. It took a day to locate the right water heater replacement (since our model had been long discontinued and we had size limitations in our garage, where it was located). As soon as they found one that would work, they called us to make an appointment for the next day. They removed the old water heater, replaced it with a more energy efficient model, installed earthquake straps, drip pan, drain lines, and an expansion tank.

This is just a note to let you know how much we appreciated the service we received from Adam. Our job turned out to be bigger than the original plan of just replacing the water heater. Adam did not have the needed part on his truck so had to reschedule for another day. He wanted to make sure that he was the tech to complete the job, see it through. We appreciated the continuity of service. Adam went above and beyond by not only meeting our needs but making us aware of similar potential issues for our neighbors. Even though the hour got late Adam did not seem rushed and was willing to give us all the information and time we needed. He made sure that we were well educated not only about the product but about our overall water needs. Thank you for caring enough about your customers to provide such knowledgeable, thorough and courteous employees.

I want to thank Edwin but more importantly Adam. My 15 year old gas hot water tank went out at 10:30 PM on Sunday night 7/16/09. I called first thing on Monday morning and Edwin gave me a "guestimate" over the phone. I called him back about 30 minutes later and he assured me that Adam would be here within the hour, and he was. He was professional, courteous and explained everything in detail. The guestimate changed and that was fine. He headed to the shop to pick up the new tank and he called me while he was en-route back to let me know we had a problem. The location of my old tank, my daylight basement, was an issue. It was in a closet with the gas furnace and there was not enough clearance allotted to put a tank back in there. He said he would be back in 15 to 20 minutes. I then thought of the garage and as soon as Adam walked through the door I hit him with the question of relocating it to the garage. I showed him the gas inlet pipes and the venting and told him that the 1/2 bath was on the wall behind. He said that would work. He sat down with dad and I and he re-wrote the firm quote/work order. The job was a go. Adam told me that he would be here about 9:00 on Tuesday morning. I said that was perfect. He left and he called me at 9:02 AM on Tuesday morning and said traffic was a little heavy and he would be a few minutes late. The fact that he called and just didn't wait to get here showed that he is a true professional.

He spent about two hours on the job (propane water heater). He explained what he was doing and why. He was very informative. I could tell he wasn't going to be satisfied until he felt the work was perfect. Then, afterwards, he went over a check list with me to ensure everything was completed to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: My water heater quit working. I had a new heater installed and the old one removed.
