The ignition they came out was really great. He gave us advice. We actually ordered one that wouldn’t fit so we found the better option to choose to install in the home. It works out great. He put everything up the code pass with good fortune with flying colors. We were actually way under code beforehand and now we’re up code and I was very happy. They were in and out very quickly, really good prices, and they clean up after themselves. I like their customer service primarily. These guys are wonderful. I would definitely use them again in the future especially at home when something goes wrong definitely.

Ivan C. came to install water heater, but my platform was not up to code. Ivan stayed a good while to explain what needed to be done and what parts needed to be purchased. He presented me with the option of having him make the corrections to the platform and bring the water heater up to code. I decided to beef up the platform myself and gave him a call back the following day. He came back and installed everything quickly and efficiently. He was very helpful and made the process totally painless. I could not have asked for better customer service. I would highly recommend Ivan and Fast for any water heater work.

I was not home when Fast arrived but my general contractor was here. The old water heater was in the kitchen, which my contractor had stripped down in preparation for its removal. The new water heater was to be installed in the laundry room, adjacent to the kitchen and just on the other side of the wall from where the old one had been. My remodel contractor cut holes in the walls in both rooms to facilitate installation. He ended up needing to help the Fast employee remove the old water heater and carry it to the truck and help bring in the new water heater. The Fast guy installed the new one, leaving a mess behind the new water heater that was very difficult to access and clean up because the spacing was tight. My contractor repaired the holes in the walls of both kitchen and laundry room. The Fast guy was here for about a half hour total that day. Pretty good hourly pay, huh?

See above - plus: Fast Hot Water also is aware of the local city codes and were quick make the install fit city codes. They even filled an application with the city for the proper permits. When the permit was approved, they sent us the permit for us to call for the inspection. That was sure a time saver for us, to not have to go to the city, get the permit application, fill it out and then file it. We did reject offers from other places. Our installer was prompt, professional and personable. I would not hesitate to use them again, but I doubt I will have to.
Description of Work: Called around to get estimates. Fast Water Heater's folks on the phone were professional and informative. The scheduled a person to come between 3 and 4 pm. They later called back and were able to get a person there around 3 hours earlier. They arrived at the newly decided time. After looking at the install needs, we discussed our hot water needs currently and for the future. They gave us an estimate and gave us both a Senior discount and an Angie's List discount. The performed the work as agreed during the next hour and a half. The install needed a small customized platform, it was designed and installed on the spot without delay. The system was installed and hasn't dropped a had any issues.

When my husband discovered water in our storage room at the base of our gas water heater, I called Fast Water Heater, who had originally installed the water heaters seven years earlier. (They had a 10-year warranty) I explained to the friendly person on the phone that the expansion tank seemed to be leaking onto the top of the water heater. He looked up my records and verified the water heater was under warranty for parts and tank, but I would need to pay for the labor which he quoted at $139. He told me they would send someone out the next day (Sunday). I said it wasn't necessary to come on a weekend, but he said there was "no extra charge for weekend service." When the repairman arrived, it was the same individual who originally installed that tank. He took one quick look, said that the hose fitting to the expansion tank was leaking ? that it just needed to be tightened up. Then, in an effort to shift responsibility, he told us that "it is the homeowner's responsibility to tighten all the plumbing fittings every year or so." He suggested we buy a pair of channel locks so we could tighten the fittings. Really?! I have never had a plumber tell us that we needed go around to tightening their work. And as a homeowner, I would not pretend to know how to go about tightening things on a gas water heater. (He mentioned buying channel locks multiple times... which I found really strange.) I asked him why, if that was the case, we weren't instructed how to do that when the water heater was installed. He did not have an answer. Nor did he offer to show us how to do it. (BTW, I did an internet search and could not find anything that suggested homeowners do this. To the contrary, there are plenty of warnings about being extra careful because of heat and gas.) It took him less than two minutes total to tighten the errant fitting, which we think may have not been tightened well enough in the beginning. He spent more time walking back and forth to his truck than doing the work. He also told us that he drained the bottom of the tank (we did not request this) since I think he felt guilty about being there and doing basically nothing. In an effort to shift the conversation from the fittings, he also told us that the temperature was set too hot ? which was really odd, since my husband and I have not touched the water heaters at all since he installed them. After checking to see that the fitting didn't leak, he presented the bill, which we paid, because we were legally obliged to do so. But given the fact that it was a two-minute fix of a poorly tightened fitting in the first place, we feel completely ripped off. We will never do business with this company again!
Description of Work: UPDATE: After I posted this, the company called me to apologize. They confirmed that it was not their policy to tell homeowners to tighten their own plumbing. They asked if the technician had replaced the hose that was leaking. When I said he had not, they refunded our $ and sent out someone to replace the hose that had leaked, as well as three others. I have changed my ratings to reflect this. Original Post: Fast Water heater came to our house and "fixed a leak" by simply tightening the fittings on water heater plumbing that they had originally installed several years earlier. The repairman, who had also done the original installation, suggested the loose fitting was "the home owner's" fault for not "tightening the plumbing fittings annually." I can find nothing on the company's website (or on the internet as a whole) that says homeowners should be tightening gas water heater fittings! It took him less than two minutes to make the actual "repair." Then, he billed us an outrageous amount of money to fix what we believe was probably the result of his failure to tighten the fitting appropriately in the first place. Fast Water Heater's "annual water heater maintenance" fee is about half what they billed us – and I assume they do something more than tighten up loose connections. My husband and I both feel this was highly unethical treatment of a customer.

They were prompt and the installation was clean. The extra additions definitely added to the cost and we did not budget for that. They did do a good job. They were flexible with the work as they took out the old water heater and let me paint behind that and they came back the next day for the install. All I had to do was leave a key for them and they took care of the work.

Excellent. As expected, our current installation was badly out of date code-wise and I expected the total cost would be significantly higher than just the cost of the water heater and a straight installation. In fact we had to add an expansion tank, upgrade the earthquake strapping, upgrade the venting duct (jointly used by water heater and furnace); and, we chose to install both new water and gas shut-off valves. These additions increased the price of the installation by $159, $79, $325, $99, and $79 respectively. Our installer, Brandon, was excellent in his explanation of the work to be done and why, in most cases, modern codes required it as well as the pros and cons of the optional work. Likewise, Brandon worked very efficiently and effectively and left us with a very clean, crisp installation. It was not inexpensive but we feel we generally got our monies worth. We would recommend Brandon to anyone!

I left an email on Angies list and had a response right away. I called and set up a appointment for an estimate and they were out the next business day. They sent a serviceman not a salesman and I had no pressure to buy anything. He stayed and answered all my technical questions and explained the codes and styles of water heaters that I could choose from. I felt that he was there to provide a service not to make a sale. They came out as scheduled and installed my water heater making all the nesseccary changes to bring it up to code. I was suprised at the shoddy work that the previos installer did and that made my water heater go out sooner it was only 7 years old. I was suprised at the amount of time he spent with me after install to explain what he did and what I need to do to keep it maintained. Great customer service
Description of Work: I had the Tech come out and give me an estimate. I not only got an estimate on highest and lowest options I also recieved a great education. I asked hard question because as a single parent I am not very trusting of any repairman. I felt that this company was honorable and trustworthy. I would use Fast water heater Co. again and again and I would recommend them to the single moms of the world who have the same trust issues that I do. The price for me was what I could afford Not that I had the extra money to spend but I was able to use my Home Depot card and get the 6 months no interest

Overall, it was fast and yes you are going to pay more for responsiveness, but they are fast and professional...suggestion I would have here is make the person who answers the phone repeat back to you the details they plan on passing on to the installer.
Description of Work: Found a leaking hot water heater on a Sunday at my rental property and needed it fixed quick...got Fast to come out and replace the water heater the same day but the person who answered the phone didn't quite pass on all the information necessary to complete it in one visit. The installer was great and walked me through options, got it done within the time he suggested and to date everything is working fine. The information that was missing is the hot water heater also runs the heat for the townhome. which means they need another fancy expensive mixing valve to complete a proper installation. Well a couple months later I was able to get back down there and had them come finish the install. The water heater worked, but had to turn down the heat so the water used for general household consumption didn't burn folks (as with the mixing valve you can put really hot water to the heater and not as hot water to the house)... This was able to be done at the first install and I just dealt with inefficient heating until I could get them back out (or I could get back down mainly).

Water heater was not working - could not take a shower without water getting cold. Problem started three days ago. Looked up several companies on Angie's List, read reviews and called several. All were basically the same on price but some also said that there may be additional charges once we see what needs to be done. Based on reviews on several sites I selected Fast Water Heater Co. Technician that arrived (earlier than originally estimated which I liked) was Mitch and he was very pleasant and looked the current installation and then gave me a complete quote to make sure the new install was done according to Code. I agreed to the quote and Mitch did an excellent job removing the old heater and installing the new water heater. All the work was done in less than 3 hours. Work was excellent and Mitch made sure the work was done to our satisfaction. I will recommend them to friends. MD

They disconnected an overflow pipe that would take hot water out of the house (had been connected) in case of an overflow. The guy told me that I didn't need the overflow pipe - that it could be jetted down to the ground. I thought that he was talking about gas..not hot water...as I had water soaking my room and carpet next door. Why would I disconnect a copper pipe which was designed to take hot water should it overflow out of the house, and instead let it flood down on the floor? I learned about the water vs. gas issue when the inspector came to check it. They now want me to pay to have it re hooked up, which I am refusing to do. They had a list of things..like products ..in a hair salon to either pick or not pick from in addition to the basic tank...really annoying. The installer had a kind of sassy - attitude, and obviously I am not happy that he dissconnected an overflow pipe - where it still sits - the capped pipe to the outside - approximately 4 inches from the tank to which it was previously hooked up. Not happy at all, and still not fixed. They continue to expect me to pay for it. We are still waiting for them to fix the overflow pipe. I would not hire them again, not if I had a choice. Plus the cost - the actual tank looks like it ran about $1200 on line, so we had another $1,000 in installation and whatever.

This is the first water heater I have ever bought. I chose a standard as that is what I was familiar with. The technician observed the space where the heater was to be installed and suggested a tankless model. I am very happy I made the change as I now have more room in the room. The water heater is fast and quiet. I would buy tankless again in the future.
Description of Work: I replaced a standard water heater with a tankless water heater. The technician explained the various options and costs. I selected an indoor tankless model. I am very happy with the water heater. I was not familiar with tankless models. I made a second appointment to complete the work as my original order had been for a standard. The technician was especially knowledgeable and helpful. I would buy from this company again.

Do not use Fast Water Heater.
Description of Work: If it were not for the professional, expert work of the actual technician I would be giving F's all the way around. The technician was more informative, accurate and professional than the salesman. He was on time, explained everything in detail, and when something would not work, he explained why, unlike the sales rep who wanted to make the sale. Apparently Fast Water heater has an on-call emergency technician available 24-7. I know this is not thecase caswe. Two days after my tankless water heater was installed I heard water running. When i looked where - the sauldering acually sprang a leak! An understandable human error - where my tank was placed it was dark and I am surprised the technician was able to see anything in the first place! But after trying to get ahold of the Fast Water Heater 24-7 emergency technician for 6 hours! I quit trying. i left at least a half a dozen calls with no responses. I even went down to the actual office, found a gentleman there who rents space from the building owner.manager? of Fast Water Heater in the Kirkland area - near Toyota of Kirkland, and HE called the manager/owner trying to help me out - he has absolutely no affiliation with FWH, and the manager.owner didn't even call him bacK! And this was now at 11 o'clock at night! A sales rep called me the following morning - couldn't understand why the emergency tech never responded - and sent out the technician who installed the tankless water heater out within a few hours. No apology, not explaining why there wasn't any response the night before. Bad form as far as I am concerned - especially since this already cost me $3300! Fast water Heater couldn't care less as far as I am concerned - they got their money. Then, just last month (November) the City of Kirkland Building inspector came to inspect the tankless water heater. Apparently I need to have an additional cold tank reservoir added to the cold water pipe. I called Fast Water Heater to let them know what the inspector wrote, gave them the inspector name, phone number I was told someone would call me back within three days. That was a Wednesday. On the following Monday I CALLED THEM back, spoke with a guy name Dave who told me I didnt need to have the additional reservoir - even though the inspector told me, wrote it down, there needed to be an additional tank. Dave actually read me the building code - because I asked him if FWH new the City of Kirland building codes, (BECAUSE I DONT) - said they did, and after reading them to me TOLD ME I didnt need the additional tank. Actually argued with me about it. Granted, by this time I KNOW I was not being very polite. Three days after that phone call, I receoved a phone call form the sales rep who convinced me to use Fast Water Heater in the first place ad said why yes they had finally spoken with the Building inspector and oh, yes I apparently need to have this addional cold water reservoir tank added to my cold water pipe leading from or to my tankless water heater. By this time, all I want is the thing fixed, re inspoected and be done with FWH. Thank gof they are sending the same tech out again!! He is the ONLY redeeming factor in this whole experience! And NOW! I just received an Angie's list Deal for a tankless water heater install for about a $1000.00 less than what I will have paid when all this is done. :/

Overall job was fair. The problem was that customer service(cs) was BS. Asked if I could use the Angie's list coupon, told I didn't need it, cs would apply the credit on the workorder estimate. Tech. needed the coupon or no discount. Asked about warranty of 6 yr and 10 yr.tanks and differences. Told the 10 yr. tank had slightly more insulation and was bigger in diameter. Based on CS info. ordered a 30 gal. tank with 10 yr. warranty. When tech arrived he brought a 28 gallon tank with 6 yr. warranty. Tech.said that the manufacture did not make a 30 gal. tank and he would place a 10 yr. plastic sticker on the tank. As this was late Sat. afternoon I took we they had sent. I needed to have hot water. Positive side, tech. was friendly, neat and quick. Price was fair, but a little too much BS from cs. Also, cs rep. give me his direct number, tried calling 3 times.
