Furnace Repair On the 3rd day of snow in Seattle, Suddenly my furnace was not able to produce warm air at all. I called Griffis Heating, Brienne was patiently spending a long time on the phone with me, trying to guide me through all the steps to make it works again, but unfortunately, it still did not work out. She then decided to arrange for her technician to come over to my house and repair it for me the next day. It was still snowing, and roads are full of icy snow, but Jeff, the best technician from Griffis drove here to save my Furnace as promised. He is excellent and Knowledgeable ! he got it fixed, and my Furnace is working excellent now! Thank you Brienne and Jeffs, Appreciate they did their very best to repair it in a short period of time so that I got my heat back in my house in this very low temperature of snowing Winter!!!!

The company was quick to schedule a technician who called ahead and was on time. The unit was found to be non-serviceable so only a service fee was charged and an estimate for replacement requested. I was confident that the unit was not serviceable as the technician talked me through and showed me the problem.

The consultation was very informative and Brian really had an excellent background expertise in the systems they sold and that they will only sell you good stuff and not something to cut costs and be of lesser quality. Griffis extensive knowledge and ability to provide several estimates to choose from rating from good to best solutions is what ultimately won us over. We did comparative pricing through a few vendors and even though their estimate did not come out the best price, we felt confident in choosing them for their quality assurance guarantee and doing the job right.
The crew was awesome when it came to install day. They were very friendly, courteous, and efficient in their job. Total install time was 2 days and we are very happy with the results thus far. If you are looking for a company that cares about providing customers with quality solutions then definitely give Griffis a try. You get what you pay for!

Contacted griffis heating to install an AC unit at my home. Brian Griffis reached out immediately , came home , looked at my setup and gave me three price quotations based on make/model/cost/efficiency rating. After reviewing his quote with 5 other well reputed companies I decided to go with griffis heating. His offer was competitive and scheduling was easy. The installers finished their job well and left the job site clean. The home was AC ready and some of the previous electrical work done needed to be redone. Since this was previously not caught and estimated they did this additional work for free. I will be using their services for any future heating/AC needs.

DO NOT USE GRIFFIS HEATING...YOU WILL BE SORRY. In June 2010 I bought a new furnace for $5,700, which included a 10 year parts and labor warranty. On 3/3/1/12 less than 2 years later my furnace stopped working. When the repairman arrived, I was advised that the new "pump" required to get my furnace running again was not covered by the warranty and I would need to pay a $350 repair bill. In reviewing my original purchase paperwork, it simply says 10 years P/L and no further details (or exclusions) of any kind. The sales person specifically advised that I had a 10 year parts and labor for the furnance, never was anything said about exluding coverage for "pumps". Nor did they produce any paperwork at time of repair to show that the pump was excluded, just said I must pay $350 to get the furnance running. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY!!!!

"This customer did not purchase a 10 year Parts & Labor Warranty at the time of install in June of 2010 nor had they called for maintenance or service since the install. The "pump" referred to is a condensate pump and failure may have been prevented with a service. Griffis Heating always strives for customer satisfaction and did refund this customer the cost of the condensate pump in hopes of providing excellent service."

The owner educated me on the variying furnaces, gave an estimate of each. He even had a computer with a printer attached so that he was able to give me detailed information to compare each furnace. He was to the point, didn't try to oversell. The prices he showed were very reasonable and he was referred by Puget Sound Energy.

It was an absolutely excellent experience. I like that they will send the supervisor out to assess the issues and the problems. They give you a good firm quote. The supervisor comes with the guys when they start doing the work, and then he will come back and check when they are done. They check back with you to make sure everything is o.k. They were very punctual, even a little early.

They cleaned the dust and put in the new upflow glass furnace. They really made a difference. They were knowledgeable. They were neat and clean. They got the work done in one day. They cleaned up after themselves. The price was reasonable. I am so happy with it.

WE ARE NOT SURE WHAT TYPE AND BRAND OF EQUIPMENT DON SMALL BID AND INSTALLED BUT OUR PROPOSAL WAS FOR A THERMOPRIDE VARIALBE SPEED OIL FURNACE WHICH IS TOP OF THE LINE. I called Griffis Heating to come out and give me an estimate on a new furnace. Kurt came out and told me that I do not need a new furnace. He tried it a few times and it worked while he was here. He showed me where my inside gas valve was, turned it on and we smelled gas after only a few minutes. He told me I do not need a new furnace, but to call Griffis back and schedule a tech to come out and replace the faulty valve. Jason came out the next day. I told him the furnace was not working again today and that I would like him to look at it again because it might be more than the valve. He shut off the gas outside, came in and removed the old gas valve. He really rattled around the pipes getting old valve off. He told me after he replaced the valve that there seemed to be nothing wrong with the old valve. After turning on the gas outside he came back in and turned the new valve on. He waited a bit and we both smelled gas again. Turned the main valve off and tightened the new valve again, it was take two with same result. He told me to leave the valve off, there was a break in the line after the valve under the house. Charged me for the replacement and told me he would not look at the furnace or the leak because the house was full of gas and there was probably a bunch of gas under the house. He left and told me to call Griffis again for another appointment. I called Griffis today and they basically said "tough luck." They had to charge me for the tech to come out and it is not their fault their tech left without fixing the problem.

Sales person was a bit pushy but they had the product I wanted and were backed by a home improvement store, negotiated a slight discount although the cost was significantly higher in the end than other contractors with different models. Installers were professional and did a good job though on the second day they seemed rushed to finish the job, took several weeks for me to sign off on unit as there were some harmonic (whistling) issues in the existing duct work when the furnace initially kicked on. Also created dust when digging out crawl space for clearance.

The servicer arrived on time and finished all work professionally. He also provided great information about filters. The time/part charges for the gas pipe elbow were minimal. He spent a total of an hour servicing the furnace, checking CO levels in the house and fixing the pipe. Recommended.

I was happy that Griffis was able to come in such a short notice. I also liked the fact that the tech didn't try to push for a new unit; instead he properly figured out the issue and fixed it right away. The price was okay, but for such a quick fix, it felt just a bit high, however the service was great! We found them on Angie's List.

I had another company come out to inspect it and they just recommended buying a new furnace. The furnace is old, but I couldn't believe that it went from working reliably one winter to having a tic the next fall. Jeff from Griffis came out and diagnosed that the problem was with the flame sensor. He had two options, just replace the flame sensor with something similar (my furnace is so old an exact replacement couldn't be found) or upgrade the entire control unit to something a little more modern. I chose to upgrade to a more modern control unit. The estimated time 1.5 hours of labor was spot on and the cost of the control unit was told to me before I made the decision so there were no surprises in the cost of the job. I will definitely use them again for future repairs and work required. I did pay for the initial time, inspection and estimate but it was worth every penny to avoid buying and installing a completely new heating system. Get Jeff if you can, he is experienced.

Doug was very helpful and responsive in assessing our home and getting the appraisal. He was thorough in explaining all of our options. The installers arrived on time and were very pleasant and efficient. They instructed us in the use and basic maintenance of the units. We have had no problems with the operation of the furnace and central air. We researched carefully before selecting Griffis, and would recommend them highly to friends and family.

GRIFFIS HEATING SHOWED UP IN A TIMELY MANNER INSPECTED THE FURNACE AND THE DUCT WORK THOROUGHLY AND THE HOUSE WAS ABLE TO CLOSE ON TIME. THEY ALSO SUPPLIED US WITH THE CORRECT PAPERWORK FOR THE SAID INSPECTION.
