Indoor Air Quality Medics

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal -- HVAC inspection for $29.00. When I purchased, I received an e-mail, stating that the company would contact me within 2 business days. The next morning (Saturday), I had already received a return e-mail, asking when I'd like to schedule. At that time, I was unaware of any problems with the system, so I requested an October date. Two HOURS later, my A-C completely died. I sent another e-mail, asking for service much, much sooner. Early Monday morning, I received a call from Stephanie, and a service tech was at my door by 9:30. When the husband explained the problem, the tech immediately warned us that the news would probably not be good, and so it was. Which didn't surprise us; we've watched many neighbors replace their HVAC systems and all the houses are the same age. He gave us a quote of $5,800, which included a new furnace, A-C, humidifier, permits, installation, removal of old equipment, and clean up. Scheduled date of work: the very next day! The installers came, used the walk-out door into the basement (thus not tracking through my home), and completed the installation in one day. Two days later, the office called to schedule the inspection required by permits, and we passed that yesterday, with no problems. When the old units were disassembled and removed, the installers discovered that some of the duct connections had been done incorrectly, at the time the original units were installed. They corrected these errors, and now the air flow to the master bedroom upstairs is greatly improved. So kudos to the entire staff of IAQMedics. Stephanie (at the office) was especially helpful and prompt.

We had lost our hot water right at the beginning of winter due to the pilot no longer lighting. The tech who came out inspected our hot water heater, let us know about the out of code exhaust system and let us know about a leaking pipe which we didn't know about. The tech also found that the reason the pilot wasn't staying lit was due to a clogged air filter at the bottom of the unit. He cleaned it, got the pilot lit again, and gave us our hot water back!

They gave me like a training overview of the whole ac and showed me the whole process. I would use them again in the future.

An outstanding company to work with. This was a significant project since HVAC systems have changed a great deal since we purchased this old unit 14 years ago. The Account Manager with IAQ Medics contacted us right away and did a detailed inspection of our system. We had already decided it was time to replace the old system. Dario spent an hour explaining to us the difference in systems, the energy ratings, load requirements for our home, ideal solutions, etc. (I know...all you folks who have done just enough research on-line to make yourself dangerous...do yourself a favor and let an expert teach you something). No sales pitch, just a promise that he would email us several detailed proposals outlining the and quot;goodand quot; to the and quot;excellentand quot; options. The next day we received exactly what was promised. 5 separate options (each containing all the detail you net guys need to go on-line and double check the experts) along with detailed pricing. We made our decision and the installation was scheduled for 3 days later. The installation team of two showed up on time and went right to work (a very warm day. Probably 120 degrees in the attic that day). Without a hitch and 8 hours later the job was finished and we had A/C upstairs for the first time in 2 weeks. In addition, they included the new unit on their annual service program for free and, went ahead and threw in our 2nd unit for one year for free as well. Just that kind of extra touch that makes this company standout from the others. We know we got an outstanding value for our money as we asked several other local companies if they could match the price from IIAQ Medics and they said it was not possible. Should you find yourself in need of new HVAC equipment, do yourself a favor and call IAQ Medics (you can still take all the credit for knowing it all and making a great decision. It doesn't offend these guys at all. They just want to be satisfied).

I cannot compliment them enough on their communication! From the day they received our Angie's List payment until the day of services we had consisent, but not annoying, communications. The day of the service I received a call from Stefanie letting me know they had a compressor issue and they may be a little late. I then received a call from the technican letting me know they got it fixed and were on their way to our home. Altogether they were less than 30 minutes late to the original appointment time, but I understand mechanical items break down and their communication was so spot on and nice that I had not issue with this at all. Upon arrival they covered the floors and wore shoe protectors the entire time they were in our home. They explained ahead of time what would happen and the sounds to expect. I have two cats and they were very careful to ensure their ease as much as possible too. The cats pretty much stayed hidden while they worked, and both technicans were great! I felt so bad for one of them because he had allergies to cats, but he never once complained or let his allergies slow him down. He told me that he understood when he started working with them he would be exposed to animals. He loves pets and even paid attention to our one brave cat that ventured out in a quiet moment to see what was going on in the house. Now that is dedication! But I bet he would appreciate the company querying customers to see if they have cats and maybe divert him to jobs where the homeowners do not have cats as pets. They were in the home for just over two hours and what a difference! I couldn't believe the amount of lint that came out from deep in the dryer duct. I'm thrilled that fire hazard is now taken care of! They let me know the conditions of the other ducts were not bad but did need some attention. They got a lot of bird seed (previous owner had them) from one of the bedroom ducts, but overall our duct system was in good shape. They even looked at the A/C and furnance and said both of them were in really good shape too. We discussed the advantages and disadvantages of replacing the hot water heater with an on demand hot water system. Although he could have probably convinced me to add the more expensive system he stated the labor alone just to add it too our house (difficult location without easy access to the necessary connections) and the fact we are looking to sell our home in less than 5 years makes it an unpractical choice and we should stay with a hot water tank. Than kind of honesty goes a long way with us and definietly will have me calling them again not only for duct work, but when it is time to service or replace the system giving them a call each and every time.

They were on time and did well. I took all day but only 1 day as promised. They made small neat cuts to ceiling to move piping through so it will be easier to fix.

I've been using IAQ Medics for a little over two years and have never been disappointed. They have always been incredibly prompt, courteous and professional. My most recent experience was due to a faulty capacitor in my upstairs AC unit. I called them that morning, explained the problem and they sent someone out within two hours to assess the system, determine the problem and fix it on site. The AC was up and running in less than an hour. I also use IAQ for their Spring and Fall routine maintenance contract. Twice a year they come out, completely check the system, clean it and make any adjustments needed. i don't see myself using anyone else. Thanks!

It went great. They were outstanding, did an excellent job and were faithful to their word. So far, everyone I've used from Angie's List have been outstanding.

We were in the middle of a flood clean up, which is why we wanted the system cleaned and inspected. We had dehumidifiers and fans trying to dry out the property, we have only gave a B on quality as they left some packaging in the vent in mud room which is where the flood started and it was really important to keep that room heated as we had no insulation. Overall they rrived on time, was very helpful and did a great job. I would use them again.

The IAQ crew did the works at our house…Hot Water Heater and new A/C and Heating Units for two zones. We went from builders-grade units to top of the line high efficiency units on everything. It was a big job and a big investment, so selecting who was going to do the work was not taken lightly. The IAQ guys were professional start to finish. They were basically a part of the family for a full week putting in some long hours to make it happen. As expected with a job this size, there are going to be some post-install tweaks required. They have been at the ready when those come up and have taken action. I would have no reservation recommending IAQ to others.

Service was very professional and showed up on time and did a thorough job as expected. Since we have two HVAC units, they charged us the same and quot;dealand quot; price for the second. There was no attempt to upsell with any projects. Overall, exactly what we expected for a good price.

I called to find out if the $85 service through Angie's List would cover the coil and condensate drain line cleaning. I explained that I did not need the inspection as I have another company that inspects the unit every six months. The rep said that the deal would cover what I needed, that she would honor the deal price, and that I did not need to buy the deal. I could just pay them directly. The day before, they called to confirm the appointment. My boyfriend spoke with them and asked them to confirm what they were going to do the following day. They responded that they were going to inspect and clean the unit. When he asked explicitly about the two items we needed, their story completely changed and they wanted to charge us a great deal extra for the service. I cancelled the appointment and went with another company. Save yourself the same headache and deal with an honest company.

They were on time, made sure they didn't get the carpets dirty and cleaned the ducts. The owner himself went under the house and sprayed for mold and mildew by opening ports in the ductwork, which he closed after he was done.

It was great! The technician arrived on time, and quickly and accurately diagnosed that the system's issues were related to using the wrong kind of filter. This ultimately saved us quite a bit of money because we were expecting major repairs. Once he changed the filter out, the system was just fine.

The gentlemen arrived on time and described in detail what they would be doing. Then after the work was finished they showed me what was done in patching up the furnace vents. It was basically a clean job, although I did have to vacuum after they left. They were very well mannered and I would definitely use them again.

Polite. Explained all steps in the process, and answered all questions.

They did a great job. They were very respectful and made sure they always had their boots on. They got the job done in about 2 hours. They sent 2 people out to do the job. The scheduling was fine and they showed up right on time.

Very professional, quick, efficient, and clean.

This was my second experience with IAQ Medics. As I was very pleased with the work performed by Dario on the previous visit (safety inspect and clean gas water heater), at the end of that visit I requested he take a look at my 20 year old gas furnace. Dario performed a thorough inspection of the gas furnace, described in detail what he found, and determined that it was time for a complete replacement of the unit. He factored in the air conditioning unit that was installed two years ago and explained in detail that a correct match between air conditioning and heating units is important to the efficiency and performance of both. Dario explained the two price-level options available for the new gas furnace, provided a quote for the entire job, and scheduled the service appointment. Technicians Nick and Jon arrived on time and once again IAQ Medics showed the utmost respect for the home by both placing drop-cloths from the front door to the furnace closet in the kitchen and placing plastic covers over their shoes before entering the home. The furnace closet is small without much extra space for furnace venting and piping, so prior to starting the work Nick spent some time assessing what would end up being a very customized installation. Dario then arrived, and the old furnace was removed and the new furnace put into place. Dario performed a complete electrical re-wire for the new furnace. Dario departed and Nick and Jon proceeded on the customized venting and piping job. Care, caution, and constant double-checking of the work was the norm throughout the entire process. Nick would speak out loud to himself while double-checking the key points of the installation - which I really appreciate as I do the same myself when working on key elements of a job. A new digital thermostat was also installed. After completing the installation, Nick and Jon stayed an additional 30 minutes to test the system and ensure proper functioning. The entire job took approximately six hours. Of special note are the extremely fair parts, labor, and service warranties offered by IAQ Medics. They are the best I have ever been provided for a home utility or appliance. Approximately two weeks later the new gas furnace is heating the home perfectly with no issues. IAQ Medics and Dario, Nick, and Jon provided an excellent end-to-end experience. I am always concerned about the work performed on major home repairs and replacements, but I rest easier now knowing that IAQ Medics will be there in the future for any planned or unplanned HVAC and gas related needs. I would definitely use IAQ Medics in the future and would recommend them to others.

The inspection and experience could not have gone any better. Dario was extremely friendly and helpful. He explained to me the different parts of the hot water heater and how everything worked. He then explained all the steps he was taking to inspect the unit. He diagnosed the leak and fixed the issue. Dario even provided an extra part that would prevent possible leaks in the future. I highly recommend this company and will certainly use them in the future.

Very impressed with IAQ. Nick and John came to the house on time and installed the system. Made multiple other corrections during the conduct of the visit to include removing the old non op humidifer. Very knowledgeable and articulate. Very satisfied. I costed them against three others and they charged 750 for the model Aire 700 system, the other two were 950 and 1250 respectively. Very happy.
