I called the Friday before Christmas and they responded right away and called me back to schedule an appointment. They came out in less than a week during Christmas week! I explained I had a leak, that when it rained I could heard the dripping and see the water spot on the ceiling. They came out right away, looked at the ceiling inside as well as conducted a complete roof inspection outside. They took pictures and sent a report of the inspection. The two guys arrived on time and very professional and polite. They fixed the leak and secured any other loose pieces. They were friendly from the initial phone call to completion, great customer service and I haven't had a leak since! I would definitely use them again!

CC was punctual, clean, courteous and clearly explained all work before signing the contract. I would highly recommend Consumer Construction to anyone needing roof or siding replacement or repair.

It was a true pleasue dealing with this company. When i called, the person spent time to help pinpoint the problem area and showed confidence in their ability to do the work. After the work was done, i recieve a followup call inquiring about my satisfaction.

The person I spoke with on the phone was very knowledgable and helpful. She set up the appointment, discussed everything I needed to know and said the roofers would call ahead. They called and said they would be at my house in 10 to 20 minutes and they were there and working in that time. The leak was stopped. They left no debris and made sure the gate was closed securely as I had requested. Excellent company and I will definately use again when necessary.epla

Our house was damaged during the 2012 Derecho. Our garage roof needed to be replaced (including the construction of new trusses, and new gutters), and we needed new siding on the entire house. Mark came out to meet with us several times to discuss the work, including two meetings with our insurance adjuster. He was very patient and helpful as we worked through the insurance claim issues. The construction crews were hard working and professional. The work was done on time and the quality of the work is excellent.

My house was damaged after two trees fell during Hurricane Sandy. After meeting with several contractors, I decided to go with Consumer Construction, Inc. due to their knowledge, no-pressure sales, and reasonable estimate of cost. Once the work began, it was completed promptly and I was very satisfied with the workmanship. Additionally, the billing department was very understanding and patient with the drawn out insurance process for receiving the claim payment.

I used Angie's List to find a competent company since my past experience of finding companies on my own didn't work out very well. I had some siding blow off and some come loose during a wind storm. I called Consumer Construction and was given a date and time the service person would be out. Two service people arrived on time! While one explained what they were doing the other immediately started to work. After a few minutes of explanation I went back in the house. Shortly thereafter, the service provider knocked on the door, explained what they did, and asked if I had any questions. They picked up any trash they had a left with all repairs done. As part of the service they also checked to see if there was any damage to my roof. They recaulked around some flashing and nailed down any loose shingles. The office manager called a few days later to make sure the work had been done to my satisfaction. Wow! I didn't know companies did that! I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

Everything went as expected. They called to let me know the day someone would be out and that I didn't have to be home. Also gave me the flat rate. I happened to be there, so I was able to show the worker evidence of one leak inside the house. They followed up with a voicemail explaining the work that was done and that an invoice was in the mail. I had a follow up question and they emailed me back with photos of the work on the roof. Overall very professional. Easier than I thought it would be.

We needed storm doors for our backdoor with a doggie entrance for our basset hound. Consumer Construction was the first company that gave us an estimate. Crystal who answered the phone was great and Mark Mohay the estimator was prompt and professional. Our project was custom and the door size required Consumer Construction to verify availability. Mark told me he would send me a quote later. We met with Champion Windows and Doors subsequently who did not have our door size and also with another company whose rep was obnoxious enough to tell me that he would not give me an estimate unless I was going to sign up with them! Mark had sent us a quote but it went into my junk folder and we were in limbo when Crystal called to check if we were interested in their quote. It took a little more back and forth with Consumer Construction to get things formalized - I was happy to find them patient, professional and eager to sort through things to ensure we are all on the same page. The work went well - there were things to iron out and their owner Mark Mitchell found a creative solution to a sizing issue in addition to fixing our front and back door for some minor but key functionality issues. It was a day long project that went smoothly - I am unused to it so I am abundantly grateful! The ability to deal with issues as they come up is important in a contractor of any kind as the customer is at any given point trying to accommodate the project into their lives. We had a fantastic experience from start to finish with Consumer Construction. They were polite, professional, skilled and a delight to work with. Working with them is as good as it gets. I will definitely call them for future projects and thank them for a smooth project. I wish to emphasize that that it was not a smooth run from start to finish - WHAT MADE IS SMOOTH WAS THEIR PROFESSIONALISM IN RESOLVING ISSUES as they came up. We had a life event soon thereafter that required us to do only what is essential everyday - hence the delay in writing this review. During installation, some water damage to the framing of the kitchen door was detected and repaired. The installation crew conducted themselves in a very professional manner, were respectful of our property, and they took care to clean up at the end of each day's work. We are very pleased with both the Alside product and Consumer Construction's installation process. When the time comes for us to replace our entry door, Consumer Construction will be the company that we call.

The work went quickly, until big problems were encountered with water damage repair at the bottom of the door, which could not be seen before the door was removed. Mark inspected the situation, and personally took over supervision of the job to ensure it was done correctly. He had to do significant work to fix the problems and absorbed the additional work in the contract cost. While most companies would have tried to say "good enough", or that the additional work was outside the scope of the contract, , he took care of it, and refused to do less than an outstanding job. When unexpected problems occur, his is the kind of company you want to be doing your work. We now have what we consider the most beautiful door in the neighborhood, and the price was much less than other quotes we found as we shopped around.

We were told the expected cost and what would be done to check the roofing. Service was prompt. The serviceman removed his shoes before coming into the home. He took pictures of the stain on the ceiling. He explained what he had to do and showed us a picture of before and after repair on the roof. It was followed up on a call the next morning checking to see if we were satisfied. We were also given the name of a painter should we chose to use his recommendation. We received a 3% discount for being Angie's list members. Even received a bill with a stamp on the envelope to mail it back with payment. When does that happen!!!

Consumer Construction was the only company that I talked to that would commit to getting to my house in the month of November. They were very professional and took the time to do the job right. My roof no longer leaks! I will use them again.

Contacted Consumer Construction and the lady on the phone was very polite and professional. She explained the cost for the service and what warranties it included. I had boots placed on my roof because they were considered the best defense against leakage and was given a great deal on the price of the upgrade. This price was already better than a previous companies estimate, who wanted twice as much for a simple job. Have not had an issue since.

The workers were very competent, and completed the job quickly and efficiently. I thought the price the company charged for the painting (to cover up some rust) was a bit expensive, but was willing to pay it given the good reviews the company had received on here. I will most likely use them for any future roofing needs.

Repair went very well. A little bit of confusion on the scope of repairs we had originally wanted (we had asked for a screen repair in addition to our porch roof, gutter, and main house repair quote after the initial estimate had been written, and the contractor stated they could do it, but they did not seem to understand we wanted it included as part of the original cost of the estimate. A later add-on cost for repairing the screen was quoted but we decided against it, as it was way too expensive for such a simple job of replacing porch screen material). I am going to do that repair myself and save some $$. Overall we were pleased with the quality of the work performed by Consumer Construction. They had repaired our porch and main roof of our house in 2011 due to damage from Hurricane Irene. This time they did almost the same level of repair. As a repeat customer they gave us 3% off. Not bad, but I felt for a repeat customer the minimum they could have given us was at least 8-10% off, as they were obviously not desperate for work, given the extent of damage in the Wash DC/NoVa area after Hurricane Sandy. Oh well. The price they quoted was a bit on the high side for such a simple straightforward repair (a brand new skylight for $800? I saw a similar skylight at Home Depot several weeks later for approx. $250. Quite a bit of a mark up there, guys, even including the labor). The amount of repair work that was needed was not that extensive (a couple of shingles replaced on the main roof, chimney reflashed, reflash and install a new skylight, repair ripped fascia board, and install about 30 linear feet of gutter with screens. They stated that the other skylight, which sustained no damage, required reflashing, which I am still skeptical why this was necessary. At any rate, insurance covered the quote minus our deductible, so we ended up ok). Overall they are very professional, prompt, and do excellent work. I would recommend them, as they have a long history in the area, have good Angie's list creds, finished the job very quickly, and did give us at least a repeat customer discount.

Mark was great. He put me at edge and when the builders. Came at all 3 phases of the work, they were on time, helpful. Went above & beyond.

My 22 year-old roof needed to be replaced. Consumer Construction is a wonderful family owned service with extremely professional and highly skilled employees. I'm very happy with my new roof! It looks terrific! I give them A's in every category and will definitely use them for future home remodeling projects.

They definitely fixed my roof. I haven't had a leak since. One boot and some caulking and renailing and all is good. They cleaned up so well I didn't see that they wherever there. Great job!

When I found this company on Angie's List, I was pleased to find one with so many positive ratings. I called and the lady who answers the phone is very nice, professional but friendly. She told me that they would charge a flat fee of $325 for repacing up to 30 shingles but, if the cost would exceed that amount, they would give me an estimate and I could decide whether to proceed, or not. When I made the appointment, I asked for a reminder call with approximate time the day before the scheduled work. The reminder was delivered as requested. The next day when the crew arrived they worked quickly and, though I can't get up on the roof to inspect the work, shingles that had been hanging over the side of one gutter were gone and they had replaced the facing on the roofline. Also, they had inspected the roof and informed me that the contractor who built the house had used short nails on the rear portion, so future trouble with that part may occur. Overall I was very satisfied.

I contacted Consumer Construction based on Angie's List reviews. I received a follow-up call the following day. I provided details on the leaks and requested a repair estimate. The company has a set cost of $350 for repair of minor leaks, resealing roof vents, and conduct of a roof inspection. If repairs require more extensive repairs than anticipated during the visit of the technician, an estimate would then be prepared and provided at no cost. A date/time was established and the technician, Alphonso, arrived on time. He first inspected the evidence of leak areas on the second floor ceiling, than inspected the potential areas from inside the attic, where I joined him. He ventured around the entire area and pointed out areas that he would check out when on the roof. He was very thorough, polite, and professional. It was obvious after a short time that Alphonso was well experienced and knowledgeable in his craft. He then went up on the roof to conduct the repairs and inspection, which took about 1.5 hours. He also found a wide gap in a soffit area where he installed a screen to keep out previous invasions of insects and birds. When he was complete, he provided clear digital camera shots of the initial conditions he discovered and then after shots of the repairs he completed. Being able to review/discuss the existing problems, and then see the actual repair, was a very pleasant surprise. I was extremely pleased with this service and price. The rest of the roof was reported to be in good condition. I received a call from Consumer Construction (Mark) a couple of days later asking for feedback on my experience with the visit, if I had any follow-up questions, and a reminder to contact them if I experience any of the same leak issues. Consumer Construction is at the top of my list for home roof repairs.

They told me what to expect, carried out the work in a timely manner and checked back to see that I was satisified.

A very puzzling/disappointing experience. They sent a person over to assess a leak in two locations. First, he could not find the source of the window leak. Then, he told me the second leak is from a broken vent that he was not sure he could repair. The next day his boss called and said they were declining the work because "they don't do work on siding." Huh? They list siding work as one of their areas of expertise and actualy offer coupons on it. And when I asked why he was talking about siding when his guy said it was a vent, his response was, well, non-responsive. Not professional and wasted a week of my time when I could have gotten someone else to do the repair. Plus, if you can't replace a vent, why would I trust you with my roof?
