TruGreen Lawn Care - 5730

Tru Green is the worst company with whom I have ever dealt.

They have been good. I get the annual service which is for the whole year. We had them when we first moved in and they had a nice lawn back then. Once they went with the other company, the front yard looked pretty good all the time, but the back yard was practically nothing. There was almost no grass. When we came back from California, the lawn was practically gone. I wondered what had happened. It turned out that they had merged with another company and each one thought that the other side was taking care of our lawn for us. Neither one came out and treated the yard for about 2 to 3 months, so it didn't get its pre-emergence treatment. We switched to another company because of that but that company never could bring that yard back. I had liked TruGreen so I called them and when I told them, they apologized and requested me to give them another chance. I decided to give it back to them and see if they could bring the lawn back. They have only had it a couple of months. It seems to be getting better. I think they will be able to do it. They have been easier to talk to and more eager to do a good job. They are more flexible and are trying to please me. The price is average because it is the same as what the previous company charged. They have done two treatments and it is the same dose. I can see some improvement. They came out and gave it another shot of weed killer. They told me that the grass won't grow in there as long as it has to fight the weeds. It already seems to be closing in a little bit. It's been about 10 days since they came out and did that. I am hopeful. It's not something that's going to happen overnight. They slipped up the last time but anybody could have a slip up. Even I do once in a while. Their responsiveness is excellent. They come when they say they will. They are professional. I would recommend them to someone else. They took care of my lawn before. They can do it again. In the fall after they do aerating and seeding, I will probably notice a big difference.

They are nationwide, so that allowed me to not worry if they were legitimate and that kind of stuff. I would give them an A. Obviously, they have the longer term care where they come out six times a year, and I think they are a little over priced for that, but when it comes to the aeration and seeding I think they are an A. The service is an A, but the overhead administration and management is lacking. In terms of timeliness of response, I give them an A, but in terms of responsiveness to my specific desires or direction, I would give them a B.

Signed on with Tru Green around March/April of 2010 to help get my lawn looking good (new house/ugly lawn). They were quick to come out and get me to sign up for the service, but getting the initial lawn spraying done was a bit of a problem. After several calls to them (and several weeks) they finally came out and did the initial spraying. That was pretty much the only glitch...they came out every 6-8 weeks to spray the lawn like clockwork. The weeds were kept at a minimum and the yard looked good. Overall, they did what they said they would..so no complaints.

Tru green promised to turn my lawn around. I told them in the beginning that I was giving them a year. After at least $1000, my lawn showed zero, and I mean zero improvement. Weeds still abound and the grass is very splotchy (just the way it started out). I terminated the service after the year. Whats worse is that they continue to call asking if they can come back. Save your money, do it yourself or find a company that will give you something for your money.

The yard never looked worse. When I spoke to the technician, he said he "had a business on the side" and he'd be willing to come out and treat my yard himself. I couldn't help but wonder where he was getting the chemicals he was using in his personal business.

Every time I call Tru Green the person on the other end of the phone is very helpful and very happy to answer my call. I would recommend the office staff to anyone I just do not like the treatment services anymore.

The gentleman that did our lawn was very polite and courteous. He did a nice job on our lawn. We do have a yearly contract with them and they have also followed all of our instructions. I have not had any problems with them.

I could see the difference they made in my yard. The front yard was beautiful, thick and green. They took the time to explain to me the chemicals they used because I had cats. They were always nice, clean cut and hard working.

When I first hired Tru Green, it was done on their reputation and other recommendations. Although the technician was always on time and had a positive demeanor, the actual performance was not that good. The lawn improved in spots, but got worse in others.

They did a wonderful job. Our grass grows great now, and they were great at getting rid of the weeds. Our lawn is so beautiful and green now. I love them and they really did what they were supposed to for us. They were the best and there are helpful and friendly.

They made our lawn look great. The guys listened to my concerns and answered any questions that we had. I have actually used them for a while now and have had no problems with them at all.

True Green was only with us for a short time because we realized how easy it was to do this job and figured that we should just do it ourselves. It was nothing personal with them; we just figured we would save the extra money. We paid them by the visit and it was a little more than I would have liked to pay. Well, it is more than doing it yourself. When they were with us, they always did a stupendous job. They worked very quickly and were always very nice people. I was not unhappy with my services at all and I probably would hire them again if I started getting lazy.

Tru Green has been coming once a quarter for several years. They will plant some new grass soon, and over the time they've been coming the lawn has been looking very good. They show up regularly and leave us a note stating what they've done.

I just wasn t getting anything accomplished with the lawn as I wanted, and even after giving it a few treatments there wasn t a noticeable difference. They were persistent that it would take before long, but I just couldn t see spending the money. The lawn wasn t any better off healthy wise than before I started using them.

I was very happy with this company. They came out exactly when they were supposed to and did good work. I have actually been using them for quite some time. They come out every six weeks to spray the lawn and our lawn looks great.

I had requested that they call before they came over, and was told it was not their policy to call in advance. I was given a paper about the chemicals they used instead of talking directly to me. I have only been using them for a couple of months and the yard was weed free. Unless I see an improvement in the grass, I will drop them. They were good workers and very polite.

Our lawn was not in the best of shape when we hired Tru Green but it got even worse after they started treating it. They were using far too much chemical fertilizer which was causing the lawn to burn out. There was also no reason to do it every month. We finally decided to deal with the lawn ourselves and it improved right a way.

Tru Green really was the best, they were very friendly and professional looking. The guys who came out were environmentally friendly too. They come out about 7 times a year for me. I have about a 1000 square foot front lawn and that is what they actually do, is just my front lawn.

This was a good sized yard we had and from side to side they took great care of it. It was more of us wanting a weed free lawn than anything, and I can say they have gotten it much better. To be able to actually see some results was really nice and they were always so professional.

Tru Green came out five times a year to seed and spray my yard. We were happy with the way they made the yard look. They were very prompt and professional. We have used them for a few years and would recommend them to others.

When they first started we saw some improvement in the color of the lawn, but as the color became brighter, more weeds also started growing. They were fertilizing the weeds too. We told their technician about this, and he denied it. Although this man was always on time, he did not listen to us, and kept doing the same thing. After one year of this we had finally had it, and decided to do it ourselves.

For the most part they are ok. The regular maintenance of the lawn is pretty good. They spreaded the fertilizer and weed killer down very well. It is keeping the grass green and the weeds down. However, once a year I have them aerate and seed the yard. They seem to do the worst possible job; they get very sloppy and throw seeds everywhere and rush through the job.

I have been using them for 20 years so they've obviously done a good job for me. They didn't give me any hassle or problems. They kept my grass looking pretty and green which is all I asked for. The service people they send are good people with good attitudes. They always have a discount around the 1st of the year. They come out 8 times a year for me. It's $43 per time.

I was definitely satisfied with this company and how well the fertilizer helped our yard. They accomplished what I wanted and expected of them. The yard looked much better than it did. They showed up when they said they would and went right to work.
