Description of Work: unfortunately, I found it necessary to fire True Green after numerous tries to get help on my lawn that was under their care. As the lawn caught a fungus (or something) that progressively got worse, I contnuously asked for someone to diagnose and help restore it. The maintenance attender that would comeout on a regular interval to spray and write up a bill for the visit could not tell me what was wrong. One of his "stand-ins (when he was out) told me that it could have been the excessive heat causing the lawn to erode, especially along the strip that borders the street. I told him , if that were the case, why isn't my neighbor's strip that adjoins mine and continues onto his property eroding. He didn'y know....I called for an analysis technician to come out and give me some answers...after being ignored, I fired them. Then the head manager in Newport News called and offered to come out himself and analyze the problem (at no cost). I told him it was Too late even though I believed he was sincere. I explained that I had had a taste of their lack of responsiveness and that was enough to connvince me that I would probably experience more of the same in the future from his downlines. I found an independant (reliable retired military) worker who I trust........found him on Angie's List.

 + -1 moreWe have our yard sprayed for weeds and the grass looks great from the fertilization they use on our yard. They gave us a very reasonable estimate for the fertilization and service. They do a very professional job on our yard and we are very satisfied with them.

 + 0 moreMy husband does the lawn fertilization now, and he does just a good a job as Chem Lawn. The treatments weren't doing much, and we didn't see any sense in paying for something that we can do ourselves. They were always on time, and if a person doesn't have time to do it themselves, then call Chem Lawn. They charged us forty dollars for each treatment.
Description of Work: Chem Lawn came out with their truck mounted hose and sprayed chemicals on the lawn to kill the bugs and make the grass greener. They came out every two weeks, but the fertilized treatments weren't doing the job.

 + -1 moreThis company did a wonderful job of bringing my yard back to life. They used a good seed and they used a lot of it. They were very polite and explained to me about the chemicals they used. I was satisfied with their work and thought it was an excellent job done.

 + 0 moreI have only used Chem Lawn twice, but, I feel they are very affordable. I pay them per visit and feel it is well worth it. At today s prices on materials, it is much cheaper to just hire some one else to do the work. So far, everything has been good with them and my lawn. Both times they have come; the yard has been tended to in great detail. I like how they do dig the small holes to keep the roots all nicely fertilized. I also like how they call it aeration. It is a nice little extra that they will do without charging you through the nose.
Description of Work: Chem Lawn usually does some fertilizing, de-patching, and cool aeration in my yard.

 + -1 moreI was not happy with their service at all. The weeds and crab grass was showing up in the areas they were spraying. When they sprayed, they also destroyed some branches on some of my azaleas. They tried to pressure us into a yearly contract, which was something I didn t want.
Description of Work: I had them do weed control to get rid of the weeds and my crab grass They also fertilized my 1/3 acre lawn.

They have always shown up and finished the job when they were suppose to. They were very friendly and professional. I was very satisfied with the appearance of our lawn.

The fertilizer used has done wonders to keep our lawn green and relatively free of weeds. The technicians have been polite, rarely late and conscientious. They have done a good job with our yard.
