Description of Work: unfortunately, I found it necessary to fire True Green after numerous tries to get help on my lawn that was under their care. As the lawn caught a fungus (or something) that progressively got worse, I contnuously asked for someone to diagnose and help restore it. The maintenance attender that would comeout on a regular interval to spray and write up a bill for the visit could not tell me what was wrong. One of his "stand-ins (when he was out) told me that it could have been the excessive heat causing the lawn to erode, especially along the strip that borders the street. I told him , if that were the case, why isn't my neighbor's strip that adjoins mine and continues onto his property eroding. He didn'y know....I called for an analysis technician to come out and give me some answers...after being ignored, I fired them. Then the head manager in Newport News called and offered to come out himself and analyze the problem (at no cost). I told him it was Too late even though I believed he was sincere. I explained that I had had a taste of their lack of responsiveness and that was enough to connvince me that I would probably experience more of the same in the future from his downlines. I found an independant (reliable retired military) worker who I trust........found him on Angie's List.

 + -1 moreThe job done by this company was not at all good. We hired them right after moving in to our new house, and the grass immediately started dying. Their solution was to perform more applications. We talked to the technician, and suggested fewer treatments, but our voices were not heard. After calling the office, we decided their way was not for us. The technician was prompt and well mannered, but he ignored us, and for that they lost the contract, and a different company has it now.
Description of Work: Tru Green Chen Lawn treated our lawn with fertilizer, and weed killer. This was done every six weeks.

 + -1 moreThey were quick and efficient every time they came out and I was glad they used pet friendly chemicals because we had pets. They have always shown up and finished the job when they were suppose to. They were very friendly and professional. I was very satisfied with the appearance of our lawn.
Description of Work: They fertilized our 1/4 acre lawn every 2 months for weeds and crab grass. They were pet friendly chemicals they used.

 + -1 moreThe difference in amount of dandelions and weeds is tremendously less since we began using them. What's nice was we didn t have to be present for them to do the work and could know in the back of our minds that they are working, just as if we were standing there watching them. Their price was just okay for what they did, but the results were nothing we would argue with.
Description of Work: They sprayed for the weeds and dandelions. They also put down fertilizer for the grass.

 + -1 moreOur lawn was not in the best of shape when we hired Tru Green but it got even worse after they started treating it. They were using far too much chemical fertilizer which was causing the lawn to burn out. There was also no reason to do it every month. We finally decided to deal with the lawn ourselves and it improved right a way.
Description of Work: Tru Green Chem Lawn treated our yard with liquid fertilizer. This was done once a month.

 + -1 moreTrue Green was only with us for a short time because we realized how easy it was to do this job and figured that we should just do it ourselves. It was nothing personal with them; we just figured we would save the extra money. We paid them by the visit and it was a little more than I would have liked to pay. Well, it is more than doing it yourself. When they were with us, they always did a stupendous job. They worked very quickly and were always very nice people. I was not unhappy with my services at all and I probably would hire them again if I started getting lazy.
Description of Work: TruGreen would fertilize my yard just to keep it healthy and free from bugs.

 + -1 moreI have been using Tru Green for over ten years. They maintained the lawn at my old house as well, and they have always done a great job. The technician is on time, and very personable. The treatments only take twenty minutes, and if there is any areas the need extra treatment he deals with it accordingly. My lawn looks fantastic, and will continue to look that way as long as I stay with Tru Green.
Description of Work: Tru Green Chem Lawn treats my lawn with liquid fertilizer eight times a year. I pay on an annual basis.
