Everyone from Kellum was extremely professional and thorough. They were very respectful of our home, and took the time to explain everything and give us options. This is a family business run right. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Hot water install very quick, no problems. We had a concern about the repairs to the leak, Chris was right on it. Chris and Kellum went way above and beyond at their own expense to make sure we were delighted, we couldn't be happier.

Called Kellam and a tech came to the house later that day. The tech, Tom, diagnosed the problem but was unable to repair the unit. Because of the boilers age, early 1980's repair parts are no longer available. The tech was very through in his explanation of the problem and his efforts to find parts. He was diligent in keeping the space around the unit tidy.

Over all it went well. The down side is we were without heat for 10 days. 4 of the 10 days were over weekends. Fortunately, the temperatures were relatively mild and we had a couple of space heaters to take the chill off. It took two days to nail down which Rinnai unit to use. While tankless water heaters and boilers are similar, they are not interchangeable. If a tankless water heater could have been used, it would have been much less expensive. Unfortunately, the number of linear feet of baseboard radiator in the house required a boiler. The Rinnai boiler we needed is not stocked in Virginia. Shipping the unit from out of state added a couple of days to the delay. For the installation two techs from Kellam arrived bright and early. Installation took 12 hours. This included removing the old unit, installing the new unit and reconnecting the maze of piping. Installing a new water heater is child's play compared to this. Because the unit is 95.4% efficient, new intake and exhaust lines to the outside had to be run, though the brick, to the outside of the house. The techs were very nice guys. They took time to answer my questions about what they were doing. They were tidy as they worked. They took care around the cabinets, etc. installed near where they were working. They cleaned up completely when they were done. They paid attention to not only how the piping needed to work but also how it would look. Regarding the cost. Could another HVAC done better, maybe. This isn't a commodity product like a water heater or Heat pump so it isn't easy to quickly compare prices. Given how long the installation took and the quality of the work, I do feel we got "fair value" from Kellam. It will be interesting to see how the gas usage goes down next winter.

Only took a couple hours. They diagnosed the problem and solved it. One tech did the repair and left the area clean.

We have a 2-zone HVAC system here. For both units it's $400 for the year to come out as I need and plus they have 2 maintenance visit over the course of the year. They made some recommendations that I'm going to follow up on before we get to the air conditioning season. So far everything has been working. If they make a recommendation it's being done with my best interest at heart instead of generating more business for themselves. That means a lot.

They came & did a great job. They found that the compressor which had been installed by a different company was still under warranty, so instead of having to pay whatever a new compressor costs, $8000, we were able to get it installed for just the cost of labor. The technician went and got the serial number off the compressor, again, they had not installed it, but he researched it and found out it was still under warranty. It had a 10-year warranty so that was able to be replaced for free. I can't think of any other air conditioning company I've had for the past years would have ever done that. They've won my loyalty. I've signed a maintenance agreement with them, so they're servicing both the upstairs unit and now the downstairs unit as well.

Customer service the worst. I'm a repeat customer too. took two weeks to call me back, had to listen to an employee argument when I called the third time and the guy was blaming me for not letting them know if it was an emergency. FYI Kellam, when you rent, any ac/heating issue is ALWAYS considered an emergency. RIDICULOUS QUESTION.

The workers at Kellam Mechanical were professional and courteous and overall did a very good job.

They were on time, professional, knowledgeable, quick and friendly. They made sure we understood the repair work they had preformed and were satisfied with it.

A/C went out during a very hot spell and I was able to get an appointment with them the very next day. Lisa Ann was very nice over the phone making the appointment. Mike arrived the next day within the appt. window and spent a couple hours checking things out. He discovered the problem and explained everything to me. The system was under warranty through another company so we ended up calling them to do the rest of the repairs but he was able to get us up and running and cool until the other company could come out. He was very professional and I trusted what he said- didn't try to charge me for some outrageous repairs. Good trustworthy company.

Kellam Mechanical is by far one of the best companies we've had the pleasure to work with. My parents were having problems with their relatively new AC unit and more than one company was unable to fix it. Several friends recommended Kellam Mechanical and I can honestly say, they are the BEST group of people we've ever worked with. Their technicians were very knowledgable, able to not only diagnose the problem that multiple other groups were unable to fix but also explain how to maintain the system. John and Adam spent almost 2 hours fixing the problem and because the system was under warranty, they didn't charge my parents! That meant more to me than I can say. Knowing that my parents home is cool and they have a company they can trust is priceless. Honesty and excellence in service and technical skill are what the gentlemen at Kellam Mechanical built their company on. They are our go to company for as long as we live in Hampton Roads.

Everything went well. Their customer service is excellent. Returned several times after installation to make sure everything was running as it should.

Jerry Wagner is the service technician who has been taking care of my HVAC for the past year. He is excellent. Always on time, courteous and really knows what he's doing. I would recommend this company based on the service that this man provides.

They were great. Mr. Kellam is very professional. He did a full walk-through with my husband and let him know the needs of the house. They were not pushy about any of their services offered. We have signed up for their Ultimate Service Agreement and have been very happy.

When I asked them for a quote on the furnace, the sales person said let's check the warranty on the heat exchanger on a 12 year old furnace. They found out that the heat exchanger was under warranty, so they found the part and came out on Monday to replace it. When they pulled the heat exchanger, there was nothing wrong with it. They charged me only a couple of hundred dollars for the work, so I signed up for their service program for the coming year. Out of three companies I called, they were the only ones to check the warranty. We just moved into our house, so this was welcome news

It went spectacular. Technician Peter was out to my home within 1 1/2 hr of placing a service request. Technician quickly diagnosed the problem, found the drain line and expeditiously resolved the issue. Peter was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He took time to explain what he needed to do. I am extremely pleased with the company's work efficiency and personnel.

John Gualdoni came out on a Thursday or Friday to develop a proposal after a thorough inspection of what we had currently and heard our concerns as to current state as well as what we were looking for. He even brought his own ladder to get in the attic. They were able to schedule for the following Monday to do the job. Contrary to most, they self confessed that they are not the least expensive but then described the protection they offered and their service policies. The crew arrived Monday on time and worked through the day. They correctly took attic breaks and stayed hydrated so that they did no damage to themselves. The original time estimate was about 1.5 hours longer than actual - which we were grateful as it got the AC back on faster. They cleaned up after themselves very well. The reason that I am late in this review was delays in the inspection. It took a week or so to get the inspection done and one small duct tape issue at a connection needed a fix (not a big deal per the inspector but required none the less). Then the second inspection was late in coming.

Scheduling and friendly reminders are done professionally. The tech showed up on time and ready to work. Tech (Peter) did not interfere with my customers or store.

It went very good. They have always been very good about taking care of any issues we've had. We have been with them for many years and they are a great company to work with.

Our a/c was turning off every hour or so and it was not maintaining a cool temp in the house. The repair tech told us what needed to be done but was honest and told us that it was a fairly simple fix that we could do on our own if we bought the part. It would have been much more costly for him to do it. I appreciated his honesty and giving us this option. We paid for the service call and the next day my husband bought the part and fixed our unit for a fraction of the price.

Excellent. The technician was on time. He worked in the attic and outside. He wore booties in the house. He answered questions. We filled out our part of the paperwork and he did his before he left. Very professional.
