Zippy Shell Storage and Moving

Bill Shannon was terrific to deal with. Crew was excellent, very responsive to tight schedule.

Very well except mis-understanding about size (confused trailer length with actual shell size) and originally did not order the correct amount of shells needed for our stuff. Had to have another one dropped off and have movers come back.

I found ZippyShell on Angie's List. Overall I was satisfied with the service we received. We loaded everything with ease and didn't worry about our items while in storage. The container was delivered to our new home as promised and we were given 24 hours to unload it. There were some complicated moments when dealing with Bill Shannon, as he's not the easiest person to deal with. We were told that the container would be delivered to our old house at a certain time and that didn't happen. Then we were told that the container would be delivered to our new home at a certain time and that didn't happen either. We felt rushed and stressed during those two moments but otherwise ZippyShell did what we expected and that was to keep our items safe and damage free while we moved.

I needed to store our most our belongings while we looked for a house. I was looking into the PODs but they are really expensive. Zippy Shell seemed like a great alternative and I'm pleased with the result. I had 2 large zippy shells kept in storage for about 6 months. The owner is very flexible with dates and is accommodating. The unloading service is a total no-brainer and I used it both times when I had my items delivered to my new home.

This is by far the best moving company we have ever worked with! The crew (Carlos, Rafi, Darryl and many others!) took care of our furniture, boxes and clothing like it was their own. They were incredibly prompt and worked so hard that I had to ask them to take breaks. We used both the Zippy Shell storage for a month as well as the same crew to move our belongings and I could not speak highly enough of them. The crew worked from 8:00am until 1:30am the next day carefully loading, transporting, unpacking, and setting up furniture in our new home. They were also incredibly friendly, flexible and trustworthy with exceptional attitudes. Pricing was reasonable and they cleaned up after themselves removing wrap, blankets and water bottles without me having to ask. Overall, this was the most efficient and painless moving experience we have ever had and I would highly recommend Zippy Shell to anyone who needs storage and/or moving services.

Overall a pleasant and straightforward experience. Bill Shannon is the manager of the local franchise and seems to work directly with many/most customers, so is very up to speed on the status of his customers and fleet of vehicles/cages. Zippy Shell offers a good alternative to some of the bigger-name "pod" type companies because their units are more mobile, street-legal, and less costly since your actual storage cage can be separated from the weatherproof vehicle that is used to transport it and store it at the customer site. When it was time to re-deliver back to the house, Bill sent a crew of four men who unloaded the whole unit in a half an hour for a low cost, and the items came back dry and dust-free, which tells me that despite the storage container being an open cage (wire spacing a few inches apart everywhere), the warehouse conditions must have been clean and well-maintained. In fact the airflow is probably good for most items. One small drawback is that although this franchise has a lot of capacity to store, they have more limitations on "shell" availability than I would have guessed, which means you want to schedule everything a couple weeks in advance, and there is not a lot of flexibility as far as keeping the shell on-site for more than 3-4 days. Presuming that you're able to work with Bill to set up something that is mutually agreeable (and he works hard to find solutions to meet everyone's needs), you should have an overall good storage experience with Zippy Shell.

Everything was done on time and as planned. No drama occurred as part of the move which is a nice change from previous experiences as part of any 1500move.

Awesome service - one of the easiest ways to move or stage a house! The shell was dropped off, we actually requested and were granted an extra day to load, and then it was whisked away! It was a huge storage space and very easy to load into. When we were ready for it at the new house, we called and had it dropped off. Everything arrived in perfect condition! You seriously can't go wrong with this system.

Excellent. Zippy Storage was the most affordable quote that we received, and the service was excellent. I spoke to two different representatives and they were both very helpful and accommodating with our needs to make our move as easy as possible. The gentleman who dropped-off and picked-up our unit was very professional and kind. We appreciated his help through the process.

Communications were very efficient and price reasonable. Only issue was that the POD took up more space than expected due to the parking situation but we managed to get around it and they kindly picked up the POD early on day of pickup. Unloading fee I the other end was very reasonable and hey did a great job. I would recommend bill Shannon and zippy shell to others.

Zippy Shell was amazing to work with. They also allowed me to stop by twice to pick up things I needed from my unit. I would highly recommend!

The Shells were delivered timely and professionally giving me ample time to pack and load my items.

They are great, really good. We saw how it was stored and everything was good. We really like their service and in how we could get our stuff, etc. They bring it down and let you have at it. I'm still using them because it's a storage place. I have stuff there and I pay for it month to month. They are very good about being flexible with meeting my times. They are good about arranging to do something with the stuff, then I go there and it is there and I can access it. There was only one thing that?made me nervous?once. One of the times I went to access my container, they?have a?big warehouse and the containers and the containers are basically cages and they stack them -- put them on big shelves essentially. So you can't just go?up there and access them. you have to arrange, preferably 24 or 48 hours ahead to of time, so they can bring it down for me. They can either bring it?down so?that I can access it?through their big door, but oftentimes they put it in one of their trailers and leave that outside so that you can access it from there. That's fine. The only thing that disturbed me was that once the?trailer was left outside, and it wasn't locked and there wasn't anybody around. Inside the storage unit is locked, but it is a cage so you can kind of reach inside which is something that I should have mentioned to them so that they could take care of that issue. You know, employees get in a hurry and do things. They would have done that that day, you arrange a certain time, so it was probably?only?out there an hour or something. I'd give them a "C" for that particular occurrence, but overall, I still think that they're an "A" company. I have talked to?the manager several times and I think he would be horrified about that. There is no cost for visiting. What stands out is the ease of making arrangements and the ability to access and work on the stuff that I had and the ability to get hold of somebody. The improvement is to arrange for an outside storage unit access to be locked somehow. The price is very good.

Zippy Shell worked perfectly for us to store our items and they did a great job responding to my questions and with the re-delivery of our items. The men that unloaded we super nice and efficient. I would definitely use them again.

Bill, was always readily available and responsive to any questions we had! He and his team were a blessing to work with! Movers showed in time and unloaded everything quickly and gently all while I chased around my 2 small children who were excited to be in our new home! I told my husband that I refuse to move any other way!!

Zippy Shell handled our move in a thoroughly professional and efficient manner. They brought their 15 foot container to our home on time, loaded our furniture, held it in their air conditioned facility for about 45 days until we were ready to move, loaded more furniture after home sale, and then delivered the goods to our new home up north on schedule. The Zippy team, particularly Carlos and a supporting cast, were extremely friendly, business-like, and trustworthy. We highly recommend Zippy Shell. Great job guys!

Excellent customer service. Dealt with owner (Bill) personally. He felt the wrath when I had a bad day with my contractor then took it out on Bill. He remained calm and very accommodating. Most importantly, my storage inventory came back in the same way that I left it. Highly recommend.

We worked with Bill Shannon, he was GREAT! We cannot recommend Zippy Shell enough! They pull up right in front of your house or in your driveway with a STREET LEGAL trailer- this means NO getting permits like one has to for box/pod type storage- big plus. Also it takes much less room to just park the trailer as opposed to a truck with a crane dropping a pod. There is a steel storage cage inside the trailer (our was 8'x15' I think) once you fill it up they come by, haul away the trailer to their warehouse until you need it again. They arrived right when they said they would. You provide your own lock on the cage so you are the only one that has access to the unit. We had considered a storage unit verses a Zippy Shell, and Zippy was less expensive per square foot. Being able to load directly from your house to the curb was huge verses loading everything in a hired truck, driving to a storage unit, then unloading. We did end up getting a storage unit for a number of extra items we had to remove from the house for staging and trust me, the Zippy Shell was SO much easier! When it came time to get the Shell back for the big move out of town, they showed up again, right when they said and picked up the empty trailer very quickly after we were done with it. We did all our own loading but they do offer loading services for a very reasonable charge and will drive the shell to another location or town if need be. It is really a clever set up! Very smooth, easy operation. We have happily recommended Zippy Shell to neighbors who will be renovating soon. Without exaggeration, is was the easiest part of our move!

We needed a storage unit for several months while we were putting the house on the market. Bill was prompt with his phone calls and it was easy for me to schedule deliver of the unit. They were timely with the delivery and pickup of the unit on both the front and backend of our move. Great experience!

They caused over $6000 damage on my furniture, and even though they are insured they won?t not pay for anything. The concept of using shell is good, they also guaranteed that they will deliver my things, but they didn?t show up on the day it was supposed to deliver. They didn?t bother to call me, I had to call them. I lived in an empty house for 8 days.
