Zippy Shell Storage was exceptional. From the initial interaction with Bill Shannon to the pick up after the container was stored was a great experience. I found them on the internet and got a call shortly after filling out a short form, was told Bill would call to work with me on the details, and he did so promptly by email first. I was extremely busy and talking to him while driving, but he still gave me all the details, the price, etc. and answered all of my questions and set up the deal through that one call. The driver was every bit as professional. Before he was even late, he called me and let me know he was in traffic and running a few mins late, and arrived almost on time - if I recall it was 5 mins late. He was exceptional at what he does, and put the container where we needed it as well as remembering to leave access for the movers to load, and was back and pick it up as scheduled too. It was a great price for me to do my storage this way as I was looking at 2 moves costing a total of approx. $1500 - doing it this way saved me approx. $700! I would highly recommend them.

I found Zippy Shell through a Google search because I didn't realize it was listed on Angie's list and emailed asking for a quote. I made the reservation for delivery of the shell which was delivered on the date requested. The shell was picked up as planned and taken to the storage facility. Five months later when I contacted Zippy Shell about getting the unit returned, I thought there was going to be an issue, however, this turned out not to be the case. I had requested it be returned on a Friday afternoon so that I would not have to try to take off work to deal with the unloading. However, the Friday I requested was not available. Mr. Shannon did work with me and a compromise was worked out where it would be delivered on a week night but he would give me some extra time to get it unloaded. However, over the weekend prior to the scheduled delivery Mr. Shannon called and proposed another solution that worked even better for myself and my sister. We were very pleased with the service and the willingness of Mr. Shannon to meet our delivery needs.

Zippy was responsive, delivering our container on the day we requested. The container was clean and functional and came with a storage ramp, though we discovered it after we had put most of our stuff in the container. Once it was filled, we left it locked until it was picked up on Monday. Nothing was damaged and when it was returned to us in Baltimore, the two very friendly, professional guys helped me move the heavy stuff only to include moving a buffet, desk to the garage. I would highly recommend zippy to my friends and neighbors.

I am in the process of selling my house and moving to San Francisco. Zippy Shell will store my belongings for me until my house is sold. I will then finish filling the container with the furniture I am taking to San Francisco. Then Zippy Shell will move the unit to San Francisco and store in another of their storage facilities until I have rented or bought a place to live. There is, of course, a monthly fee for the storage and another fee to move across country. But the fees seem very reasonable for the work that is being performed. Bill Shannon was very kind when I thew a monkey wrench in his system, and found me people to load the shell quickly and efficiently. Everyone I have had contact with is kind and helpful?I am very happy with this service.

I researched the best systems for storage and found Zippy Shell to be the best. I contacted Bill and told him we needed to lease some shells for our impending move. He sent a shell right over. We have a lot of furniture so we soon filled it. I order a second shell from Bill and he sent another over. We again filled that one and I requested a third shell. He sent that one over as fast as the others. When we found a home out of state, Bill coordinated efforts with our mover to have the mover come over to Zippy Shell and pick up the contents of the three shells to be loaded on the truck. It all went great. I highly recommend Bill and Zippy Shell of Northern Virginia.

It went fine. My first contact with a woman on the phone went OK. I found out later she didn't give me correct information about cost. She was very pleasant and friendly. I chose zippy shell over POD because I didn't like the man I talked with about a POD. He was very pushy and rather like a used car salesman. Bill Shannon at zippy shell handled my concerns and misunderstandings. I would recommend them.

When I first called Zippy Shell to deliver the empty shell they were very responsive and prompt. The price was reasonable, $175 a month, and they would deliver the shell when we needed it. It was when we wanted to have the shell redelivered that we had problems. I was very disappointed with their lack of communication and scheduling. I called to schedule the delivery of my shell and they were booked solid. I found out that if I hired them to unload the shell for $225 then it would be available the next Friday. Bill Shannon, the owner and scheduler, said that he would give me a call early the next week to tell me what time they would arrive. When I didn't hear from him by Thursday afternoon I called him and he told me I should expect his crew between 11-12. Since it was in the middle of a workday, I got a substitute (I'm a teacher) and hired a babysitter to be with my children when school was over. Bill then called me later that night at 9pm to tell me that he had to juggle things around and they would not be coming until 3:00, 5:00 at the latest. I was annoyed because I had taken leave from work and that was now unnecessary but it was too late to change my plans. I called the babysitter and extended her time. The next day I waited at the house from 3:00-5:00. When no one arrived by 5:15, I called Bill. He said they were running late and they weren't sure when they would get there. He would not give an ETA until I insisted. He called me back and said 6:30. At 6:30 he texted me and said they would arrive at 7:00. At 7:15 his crew arrived. By this time it was getting dark, they could not see inside the shell, and they were clearly tired. By 9:30 they were finished and I returned home to the babysitter. Bill discounted the unloading fee by $50 which I felt was insufficient since I wasted about $60 in unnecessary babysitting fees and 4 hours waiting for them, not to mention the money I would have made by going to work that day. I replied to Bill's email expressing my dissatisfaction but have not yet heard back. I have spent more than $1500 with their company over the last 8 months, a $50 discount for their negligence which cost me both time and money, is insulting. I would not use Zippy shell again, nor would I recommend them to my friends.
