It all went very well. Scheduling both the consultation/estimate and the work was very easily done, and times that were convenient for me were found quickly. The work was a bit more challenging than first thought, but the crew took it in stride and completed the job before sundown. Specifically, I was very impressed by the plumbing work and the high quality of the hardware. Our technician, Yoni, was professional, capable, very polite and obviously respected by the work crew. He was a pleasure to work with. The quality of the work and the ease of engaging the Hydro Tech team make this a team I would recommend to a friend.

Yoni Wiss was the PM for the job. He came out and explained thoroughly how the system would work, and provided a couple of estimates, based on number of zones we opted for. The crew showed up right on time with Yoni, who ensured everything ran smoothly and according to plan. Yoni came back the next day to explain how the system worked. He was excellent and we are thrilled with our system.

They've always been very good. I've never had any complaints. Their pricing seems to be reasonable. I pay $275 for them to come out and turn on and off the system. They always show up when they say they will show up.

We used Hydro-Tech a couple years ago to relocate our sprinkler system after we had construction on our house. They did a good job for us, and also did a reasonable job of maintaining our system (winterizing etc.). However, I recently had them out to the house after a line was punctured and needed repair. While repairing the irrigation pipe, they cut our cable line. When I called them about it, I got the singular most unprofessional person (Mike, I believe) on the phone. He literally would not let me speak, and kept yelling into the phone that I should have my lawn guy fix it since he caused the original problem. I called to try to give them feedback and a possible solution so it wouldn't happen again. I was not seeking anything other than a simple conversation. In fact, they originally had offered to do the repair for free under warranty, but I insisted on paying since the damage to the pipe had nothing to do with their installation. I would have liked them to take the same approach after they cut my cable line, but clearly they didn't. I will never use them again, and cannot recommend them.

How I wish I had been one of the lucky ones on this list. Unfortunately my experience with Hydro-Tech was not a good one. Yoni was the salesman--a very nice guy who said all the right things but he did not deliver. He was not present during the installation as he had promised he would be, and because of that it went bad from the beginning. No on-site supervision. No permit posted. The man doing the plumbing spoke not a word of English but was supposedly trained or licensed.The crew was putting sprinklers where they were not supposed to go and by the time they got to the back yard they were getting very sloppy, that nasty red clay everywhere and grass all torn up. I expected some mess but this was ridiculous. Communication problems occurred when I asked the crew foreman to stick to the drawn plan, and to keep the water connections open for the inspection. He did not have a clue what I was asking. I called the main office for help and was basically told I was an alarmist who didn't know what I was talking about and was assured all would be well by the end of the day. Not. Rocks were left everywhere, my mulch was a mess, and my beautiful lawn looked so awful 2 of my neighbors came over to ask if my water main had broken. I am not an expert but even I could tell the installation was not going to pass county inspection. It did not pass and Hydro Tech had to send out another crew to dig up the water main connection again, change the back flow connection (crew installed the wrong kind), and change location of sprinkler heads. By the time they were done the yard looked even worse. I still get a healthy crop of rocks every time it rains. It has taken me all summer to get my grass even halfway to where it was before they installed the system and some areas are still bald. I am paying my lawn guy to do repairs this fall. Hydro Tech has offered me 3 years of service to make up for the bad installation and the damage to my lawn which I appreciate, but I would rather have had a proper installation from the beginning. Hydro-tech has been out twice since installation to re-adjust the sprinkler heads and those techs have been good. I cannot recommend this company if Yoni is the supervisor. You might get better results from Joe. Sorry for the bad review.

Provided outstanding installation with minimal damage to the lawn or flower beds. Accomplished a difficult install due to an abundance of large rocks imbedded in my lawn. The installation crew ensured that the system was properly installed and the Project Manager Yoni Weiss provided on site instruction for the operation of the system. The entire staff of Hydro-Tech was most professional and provided a superior product in regard to both price and service.

I asked that several heads be replaced which were leaking or not rotating. They adjusted all spray heads on my property. I also had them replace the main water turnoff valve outside the house which was cracked and leaking. Hydrotech has been servicing my system for 8 years and have upgraded it for me to a 8 zone system. All work has been done well and at a reasonable price. I plan to use them for future expansion plans and maintenance. To get the best result, the homeowner should personally inspect all heads and determine which do not seem to be covering the desired area. Giving the technician this information will ensure that the technician is aware of all problems.

I hired Hydro-Tech Irrigation, Co. to redo my irrigation system after I had construction done to my yard, redoing planting beds, adding retaining walls and decorative features to my once boring yard. Hydro-Tech was able to look at my current system, advise me of changes that would enhance my new landscaping and then gave me an estimate in record time. They were prompt and efficient with their work and careful to clean up after themselves before they were done for the day. I upgraded my older model controller to the Rainbird smart technology controller, and I no longer have to worry about seasonal adjustments and watering times, I just set it and forget it for the entire season. I always hated setting my controller for the changes in the season, afraid that I might overwater or underwater and kill all my plants. Thanks Hydro-Tech for taking that worry away too. I can't say enough thank yous to Hydro-Tech for a job well done.

Two Hydro workers arrived in the five hour window that was scheduled and walked me through operating and turning on and off the sprinkler system that includes 7 separate zones. We also spent time at the control station going through the entire programing of operating the system on an automatic schedule. Fortunately all seven zones worked and no major or minor repairs needed despite the system not being winterized last year. All went well and they were in and out in approximately one hour.

I had my irrigation system installed by Blue Ridge Industry in 2013. They offered a 2 year warranty on parts and well as winterizing and spring opening of irrigation system. They are no longer doing business and I was informed by Hydrotech that they took over all of their customers. They also informed me they are not honoring any of the warranties offered by Blue Ridge. They did open my system for spring as a "courtesy" but they will not do any of the other maintenance w/o being paid.

Never responded to my requests.

The packet they put together was professional and they did follow-up to see what our decision was. We decided to go with a different company because the owner personally came out to every jobsite to ensure that work was being completed properly and in a timely manner. Timeliness, attention to detail, and especially personal service meant alot to us.

Creighton Ryan appeared on time. He was prompt, professional and helpful as was his colleague. When he asked me to sign the bill, I asked how he would be handling the backflow inspection ... would he contact the state? He said, "we only do backflow inspections in VIrginia". You will have to call another company to do that. He showed me that the work order only showed that they should do the work to fix the backflow. Having taken the day off from work to deal with this, I wasn't too happy about this. I realize that it was not Creighton's fault - he was just doing what he was told. I called the service manager Mike Dawson. He explained to me that the guy who set up the call was new and that he didn't know that they don't do back flow inspections in Maryland. He seemed annoyed as if it was my problem or that I was somehow being unreasonable. I pointed out that now I needed to call another service company and that companies typically have a minimum charge for a service call. I pointed out that it would be cheaper for me (in terms of time and money) to have one company do both parts of the work. He did not seem to understand this .... and, just was irritated and irritable as if I should somehow take responsibility for their mistake. It's too bad because I really liked Creighton and his colleague and I would have used them for years to come. Now, I'm stuck with having to go through the process of scheduling a backflow inspection all over again.

Yoni was our sales representative that had me convinced with our decision to choose Hydro-tech. He was very informative and detailed about how my irrigation system will be installed, why he uses certain materials, and the whole process on how everything works. I have had two other estimates prior to his, and I was prepared to ask questions based on research that I have done on the internet. We've discussed about why I should choose rigid over flexible tubing, the location of the connection to the main water pipe, as well as what type of sprinkler heads and why they should be used. Although we did get a cheaper estimate, I was more concerned about getting a quality product, and not having to worry about it. The price included about 50 sprinkler heads, Rain/humidity sensor, a fairly advanced controller box, rigid PVC tubing, as well as all of the installation. It was ready to use as soon as it was installed- which took only one day! They did an awesome job, and I will hire them again when I'm ready to do the back yard.

Jeremy contacted me personally and apologized for dropping the ball, as it turns out, he had a family issue to deal with. Congrats on the little one! Anyway, as I mentioned in my previous review Jeremy really seemed to know his stuff and based on that and his explanation of what happened I gave Hydrotech/Illuminata a second chance. We couldn't be happier with this decision. 1) These days not everyone knows how to apologize (even if it was a misunderstanding more than an actual error), but he did so and was up front and shared way more than he had to. That to me speaks to character. 2) We had all the "big" guys come out for estimates. Jeremy spent the most time, gave the most detail and offered the best product. 3) Value. Look at the total dollar amount we spent, it's not cheap, but compared to the other companies who were actually at the same price point, we got a lot more. Sprinklers have about 10 zones, rain sensor, digital control box in the garage, multiple types of heads depending on area to be covered. The lighting is simply stunning. The fixtures used are gorgeous, Jeremy went into detail on which fixtures he thought would be ideal for the style of our home and why (nobody else bothered). They not only cover all the areas we wanted, but can be set to come on at sunset or any other time (the wifi enabled box knows the lat and long for where it's located and calculates sunset/sunrise based on that data). And there's an app for that! The lights are controllable and programmable via cell phone. I can not only turn each on individually, but control what percentage of power I want it to output. They also stand behind their work, the warranty provided covers everything top to bottom and that's worth quite a bit too. Doing both projects at once saved money, because much of the electrical wiring was able to be run at the same time as the sprinkler lines were dug. There's no outsourcing for Hydrotech / Illuminata their crew is their crew, not some other company they subcontract out to. 4) Speaking of the crew, we'd literally just had quite extensive landscaping done the day before they came to install the sprinkler system. They managed not to not damage a single flower in the new beds, which is impressive considering they had to dig and lay the pipes right through the area. The guys were all friendly and courteous and worked nonstop with great care for our property. In a nutshell, if you want the best all around you'll want to give Jeremy and Hydrotech a call. There are only a few ways to really critique a company. One is to write a review here, which I did in both cases and the other is to me what really counts and that's with your wallet. We all work too hard to make the money, there's nothing worse than spending it and regretting it. Get lots of estimates from the who's who on Angie's. I'd be shocked if you too didn't make the same decision we made and go with Hydrotech / Illuminata. Pictures to follow of not only the beautiful design came up with, but the custom installation of the power boxes for the sprinkler control and the lighting control. * The review that follows is here so that you can see my initial impression. I didn't want to sugar coat anything or change it now that I'm a VERY satisfied customer. Other providers should take notes on how to properly handle a problem that arises. Sometimes how you handle a negative situation is as important as doing top notch work. In the end it convinced me they deserved my business. Jeremy was supposed to come out earlier in the week, but had to reschedule. No big deal. Friday the 22nd, he showed up exactly on time and took about 30 mins walking around my property discussing options for both irrigation and lighting (their sister company is Illuminata for lighting). He really seemed to know his stuff and gave a lot of great options when it came to the lighting (sprinklers are more straight forward it seems). After he did one final walk around without me, he said he'd have a detailed estimate to me possibly that night or more likely Monday. I waited until that Thursday to contact he and he assured me I'd have it by the end of the day. I still don't have it. I have to say, I'm really disappointed, as I felt the initial impression Jeremy gave of Hydro-Tech was a very good one, but if I can't even get them to give me a proposal on a $10k or so project that's definitely a red flag for me. I'm certainly not going to hound someone to take that much money from me when there are other companies out there to do the job. I guess business is booming to the point where $10,000 projects aren't worth getting back to a potential client about. Congratulations on being that successful.

Superbly. Both the front and back lawn were beautifully landscaped by landscape designer, Jamie of Johnson Landscaping company a year ago. We were worried our beautiful landscape will be disturbed. Hydro Tech promised that they will put everything back in the original condition. Nevertheless, we expected to see some disturbance. To our pleasant surprise, the lawn and shrubs looked like they have never been touched and yet the sprinklers were perfectly installed. A representative of Hydro Tech came back a week later to test the system and teach us how to operate if needed. Everything was operating beautifully. I highly recommend Hydro Tech. They are professional, courteous, superb expertise in installation and provide high quality system and efficient service.

From system design to installation the service was excellent. They know their business.

It went well and the sprinkler system is working well. There was a problem with hooking it up to our main water source and I was a bit surprised they didn't check this out beforehand. But they were very good at working around this and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a system.

I've only used them 2 times and they are pretty good. They have good customer service and they seem to be a good company. I haven't done much comparison regarding their price.

Joe Horvath and his foreman, Tomas, and crew were very professional, expert and did a great job. The overall price was higher than estimates from other providers, but the quality of the installation was worth it. The company worked closely with my landscaper to coordinate the installation with a new planting bed. While running an electrical line for the control box, there was some damage to the drywall on the ceiling of my garage, which was promptly and professionally repaired. I was provided with a detailed map of each zone and the location of each watering head. Very happy with my experience. Although I haven't had any maintenance done yet, based on my installation experience, I am expecting that to be good as well.

I made a call and a estimator came and reviewed the project and made suggestions as to the most appropriate way to go about ensuring that the lawn, flower beds and new trees would get watering needed. He then sent me a proposal via e-mail. I reviewed the proposal and accepted it and the job was scheduled. As we got close to the install date, I had a scheduling conflict and asked if they can move up the install by one week. They did this and were amazing. They showed up, did their work over a two day period, explained the system operations to me and cleaned up after themselves and left. Then I got a call for a walkthrough by another professional, which was very helpful. Overall, an excellent experience. Very professional and competent. No drama.
