Very good service

The upgrade performed by Beacon Electrical Services was done in an exemplary manner. This being my first usage of a "Big Deal" I was interested in seeing how it would work. From the first, Bob Hanifin, provided all the support and information I could ask for and needed. He followed through the entire process with me, including an estimate of those costs not included in the big deal, how the project would be worked, and the Fairfax county inspection and permit process. I was extremely impressed with Bob's personality and willingness to provide support. The actual panel upgrade was performed by Jeff, master electrician. Jeff took the time to not only do his task but explain to me what he was doing. Simply stated, Jeff did an outstanding job to a degree that if I use Beacon Electrical in the future, I will request Jeff as the master electrician on my project. From my experience with Beacon Electrical Services, I would not hesitate to highly recommend Bob, Jeff, and the company for any electrical projects.

Victor did a great job, and we are totally satisfied with the electrical work. We scheduled a follow up visit during the following week for further electrical work. Beacon Electrical Services should be very proud about their exceptional employee, Victor!

The following morning the first of his two workers arrived at the agreed upon time to make preparations (covering everything with plastic sheeting, etc.) so that when the second man arrived all was ready for him to start his work. He completed the job in one day, staying late to make sure that the rugs were vacuumed, floors cleaned of dust and things put back in place. I think he left the house cleaner than he found it! All of the men seemed to take pride in what they were doing and each was interesting and pleasant to have working here.

They are here right now and are doing the most incredible job I have ever had done with electrical. I used a package from Angie’s List, but they have gone beyond the package. They have done extra things for me with no extra charge. I used them because I needed the work done, Angie’s List had a great deal and they were rated highly with no complaints. They came on time and were very personable. They have done everything they said they would do, and more. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

I used one of the Angie’s List coupons. They didn’t charge me anything, it was just the coupon that I used. It was a positive experience. They did the work and did it neatly. I was satisfied with the work. The people were very polite, very thoughtful and nice to have around. There was misconnect, but it was still good when the guy said that he was finally going to come and he did come. They were very professional. I would use them again in the future if need be.

I spent $500 in addition to the voucher that I bought. The Angie's List big deal voucher was for $200 and they would install four recess lights but we could not get all the four in because of the construction in the house. So, we ended up getting only two installed. Overall, he was a very nice person. I specifically said that I wanted the new fixtures centered in the dining room but it was never centered. I paid for four lights and I only got two because of the construction but I never got any giving anywhere else which I thought would have been appropriate. He said that there was no refund on it. He said that Angie's List would not allow them to. Other than that, he was very nice and very responsive. However, my issue was that the lights were not centered and that was simply a matter of measuring which should not have happened. I have not called him yet but I am going to. I will tell him that he needs to come out and fix it because it seems to me that it ought to be right if I am paying for it. I would possibly consider using him again in the future.

The experience was pretty good. They did a fine job. It seemed like a lot but the planning effort was time intensive. There was a lot of prep time in getting the lighting installed. I would use them again but I would want the planning time to be a little bit better.

It was a lighting special which included entire electrical review the house. There were many additional options, including upgrade to GFI outlets in kitchen, attic fan, bathroom fan and surge protection for the house. Although a second visit was required to finish, the lighting and three options I selected were completed professionally.

Angie’s list Big Deal - lights were put in but the work was messy (nothing to protect furniture/floor from falling dust/debris) and there were a lot of basic add-ons that were overpriced and raised the bill significantly.

Victor showed up on time and explained what the service entailed. He outlined options for the installation and identified the additional costs for options.The work was done quickly and professionally. Victor cleaned up the area before he left.I will definately use this Beacon Electric Services in the future.

I purchased two of the Big Deals for the installation of recessed lights. Bob was quick and responsive about coming out for the initial assessment. He was professional and a joy to work with. Victor actually performed the installation. He called to let me know he was on his way and gave me an estimate on when to expect him within a 15 min window. He was great! He walked me through every step of the process and got my approval before making any cuts. We actually ended up making changes to the layout and number of lights. He was flexible and talked through the potential results with me. I am very glad that I went with his recommendations! Even though he had two other jobs after mine, I never felt like he was rushing the job. He took the time to clean up his work and there was minimal mess for me to deal with when he was done. In the end I really love the work he did. I will definitely call them back for any other electrical or lighting work that I have done.

Bob from Beacon Electrical Services came to our house to do an electrical inspection as well as to talk about installing recessed lighting in our newly remodeled kitchen. We scheduled work to be done at that point. Eight recessed lights were installed on our kitchen and it looks beautiful. Service was professional, polite, and friendly. The work that was done was excellent. We would definitely recommend Beacon for lighting, and we plan on using them again when we change the lighting in our living room.

They called us the next day and got someone out that afternoon to perform the work. Very prompt and professional. The quality of the work was great and they took their time even though they obviously had other jobs to go do.

They did a great. They would call to let me know if they were late, they were tidy, friendly, knowledgable and very flexible. I am actually using them for another project right now.

Overall, I would recommend this company because they performed the work that I requested at a rate that didn't break the bank.

I can't say enough positive things about Beacon Electrical Services' work and customer service. We purchased a special offer by Beacon Electric through Angie's List to install 4 recessed lights with a dimmer switch in our kitchen. I spoke to Bob to schedule the appointment and shared that we would most likely need 2 to 4 additional recessed lights in our kitchen. When the number of additional lights were determined at the time of installation I was given a very reasonable price for the additional work. The day of the installation the electrician was delayed arriving but I was contacted PRIOR to the appointment time to let me know there would be a delay, and I was given an adjusted arrival time. Upon arrival Victor, the electrician, discussed with me at length the options for the layout of the recessed lights. It was obvious he had a lot of experience with lighting installation and shared a lot of good information. As he worked on the installation and encountered obstacles in the ceiling that required a change to the light layout he spoke to me before proceeding to be sure that I was in agreement with the change. Victor cleaned up after himself as he worked and made every attempt to make the job as clean as possible. Victor worked very hard to please his customer and he did a great job! I received a follow up call from Bob after the installation just to be sure that I was completely satisfied, which I was. I would use Beacon Electrical Services again, and would definitely recommend them to a friend, in fact I already have. They have wonderful customer service and do a great job!

Saw this deal on Angie's List for 4 recessed lights for $400 and thought it was too good to be true. I usually don't buy these deals on impulse but I really needed to add lighting to the extra bedroom in my 2 bedroom condo so I purchased this but first confirmed the deal with Bob Hanifan (the owner) and then scheduled an appointment within a few days to come and do the install. The electrician, Victor Figueroa, came by around 10 and was very courteous and professional and had finished the job within less than 3 hours. I was amazed and it looked great. He explained everything and asked questions as needed and also explained the old switch that was slightly faulty but put the new replacement in and made me aware that at some point I should make sure that all old switches were checked and updated, especially my GFCI outlets in the condo, as a safety measure. Even though I knew that 1/2 the outlets were updated, I knew what he was explaining and will be sure to do this in the future when I perform some more updates to the place. If I need an electrician, I will be sure to give these guys a call. Excellent service, excellent price.

I spoke directly with Bob the owner and was immediately impressed by his professionalism and knowledge. I work long hours and explained my availability to Bob. He worked around my schedule and the next day was installing my attic fans and did the electrical inspection I requested. Turns out my fears were right, I indeed had some serious issues. What impressed me the most was the way he inspected and when he found an issue he would allow us to actually look at what he was looking at and explained the issue in detail. We agreed on the best way to fix my issues and again working around our schedule his technician was at my door promptly at 8 a.m. the next day. The technician worked for approximately 10 hours to correct my electrical problems. Around 7:30 that evening I answered the phone and it was Bob checking to see that everything was done to my satisfaction and how the day went. In a world that seems to be lacking Customer Service this phone call and follow-up just blew me away. I have found the company I will use in the future!

They do perform quality work, but sometimes the communication didn’t go as smoothly as I would have liked. Sometimes I would have to send several email before I received a response, but they were always punctual for appointments.

Overall - excellent - prompt, professional work; spot-on estimate of costs adjusted downward because our electrical meter was new (always a surprise to have an cost estimate lowered - which indicates to my wife and I of exemplary integrity). The installer arrived when he said, had the proper tools, worked quickly and carefully (the panel is located in an electrical closet in the family room) the carpet was unsullied by the work; the county inspector arrived the following week and cleared the work. In a word - perfect.

They did a fine job. It was complex and it ended up taking them two days to do it. At another time they changed 18 two-pronged plugs to three-pronged plugs and he found that one outlet didn’t have a box behind it so he installed one. He broke one faceplate and didn’t charge me for that replacement, but he did charge me for the two extra faceplates I needed even though I asked him to throw them in since I was holding the flashlight and helping. He ended up agreeing with me and giving me the plates for free.

In both the initial installation and subsequent repair, the contractor was responsive, prompt, and reasonable. Repaired the fan for parts only. Would recommend and use again.
