When I called to arrange an appointment & told him I already had an attic fan I wanted replaced he explained that this Big Deal was only for new installations. I may have missed that in the ad. He was very truthful & honest about the fact that the Big Deal wouldn't apply to my need. We talked about how the replacement could cause an extra level of complication because if the old fan hole was a different size than the new fan I may even need to bring out a roofer which would incur additional cost. I appreciated that additional information!

Beacon was amazing...they were prompt, courteous, and very professional. They are very customer-centric, making every attempts to accommodate your needs. The price also was great for all the electrical work I had done. I highly recommend them for your next electric service.

The room we wanted the lights in has a custom paint color that is no longer made by the manufacturer. We cannot match that color. Because the work would be done on the first floor of the house, it would be nearly impossible for him to install the lights without putting holes in the walls and in the ceiling. Because we can’t match the paint for small patches, we agreed that the installation would be virtually impossible without incurring hundreds of dollars of additional expense. It couldn’t have been easier to get them out. The guy was actually very professional. It was just a problem that neither of us could really overcome. I got my Big Deal refunded.

The occasional coupon to install lighting popped up on Angie's List during a living room renovation we were in the middle of and, at a price of just $399 for four recessed lights installed, it seemed like a no-brainer. Shortly after purchasing the coupon I was contacted to make an appointment. I waited a little longer than I should to do so and since this is such a popular deal, I had to wait an extra month for the work. Not a problem, my fault. The technician showed up on time and consulted with me and what I wanted done (how I wanted the lights situated) and went to work. In addition to the installation, he checked our existing wiring and had to fix a switch running through an outlet serving the track lighting that used to be in this room. He also inspected our electric panel and noted the old surge protector was toast. Quite frankly, I didn't even know what that dongle was so I'm glad he pointed it out. He offered to install a knew one while he was there which with the extra wiring accounts for the additional costs. Beacon did a good job at what i consider a fair price and I would contract them in the future when needed.

Beacon's work was completed in one day and individual cleaned up his work area and installed all requested materials.

I was very pleased with the results. Most importantly, the electrician only cut two holes in our ceiling/wall for the installation. This was very minimal compared to other electricians we have used in the past. We were very pleased with the results!

Work performed in a professional way and would use again

Very happy with quality and professionalism. Beacon was very flexible regarding dates; I had to re-schedule a couple of times due to work demands and a family emergency. Victor showed up on time, made excellent recommendations for light placement and installed the new lighting with a minimum of mess and damage to the kitchen ceiling. Also removed the old, unsightly flourescent fixture. What a difference! The electrical inspection turned up some things that the power company's electrical inspection contractor clearly missed. Best of all, the estimate to fix these discrepancies was fairly priced, with no "gold plating." Completely satisfied with the service and will definitely use Beacon--and Victor--again.

'Beacon had a Angie's list special for a core generator install. Looked like a great deal, so I called Bob. He showed up when he said he would and was just great. Ordered the generator and the installation was just as he described. Crew was professional and courteous. Could not ask for better. As strange as it seems, I am looking forward to losing electricity so I can make the neighbors jealous.Liked the service so much, used them gain for a whole house surge protector (Angie's list special again) Highly recommend them. Bob is great as is his crew.

The job went very smoothly from start to finish. They even moved furniture to get access to the sockets, then vacuumed up any dust, and then moved the furniture back in place. I was well taken care of, and the work was top notch. One circuit was a bit troublesome, but they sent a technician out the next day to troubleshoot and resolve it.

Victor came within the expected time frame, prepared the area with drop cloths, and started to work. He moved the box for the chandelier in our dining room which necessitated his spending a lot of time in our heavily-insulated attic. He also replaced two switches associated with our chandelier, and which were old and not working properly. He then began to install the new chandelier, and did everything he could to figure out why it was not working properly - it blew out new bulbs and tripped the circuit. Finally, he determined the actual problem with the new fixture which was faulty wiring inside. He reinstalled the old chandelier, which worked properly, vacuumed, and cleaned everything up before leaving.

Bob (the owner) came out to our house to inspect our electrical system and provided us with a reliable cost estimate. He helped explain to us (in plain English) the work that would be done, and how they would do it. He also explained the permitting process and how Beacon would handle that aspect of the project. The electrician who came out to do the work (Victor) was very thorough and hard working and patient in explaining the project to us. We are happy with the services provided, and the project was subsequently inspected and approved by the county inspector without any issues.

I recently contacted Beacon Electric to install an outdoor receptacle in addition to upgrading my service panel. After obtaining quotes from three other firms, Beacon was the second lowest but seemed best able to support my requirement. Their professionalism and responsiveness was outstanding. Though a minor inconvenience occurred on the day of my panel upgrade (a circuit shorted and blew out a fuse in my microwave), the owner immediately called to assess the situation and remedied the problem to my satisfaction. In addition, a check was provided to replace the entire microwave. All the technicians who arrived were courteous, professional, and eager to chat and explain the process. Bob (the owner) and Dante (a technician) went out of their way to make absolutely certain that customer service was their number one priority. I would certainly recommend this firm.

Victor, the technician, was very communicative regarding his ETA, notifying me that he would be running a little late. He was very informative, explaining his process from start-up to clean-up. Victor cleaned up very well and I am very pleased with the final product.

Project cost more than I had planned but only because they had to redo the bad work of another (apparently not so) handy man.

I signed up for a special offer posted by the company for an electrical check up and paid up front. I contacted their company who scheduled a time for the work to be done. One of their electricians contacted the day before to inform me that the firm are not licensed in Washington DC. He was very helpful and spoke to me about the problems in my appartment. While I woulfd have appreciated more advance notice, the electrician was genuinely upset and emailed me with an apology - most unusual in my experience . Angies List have promised me a refund.Things dont allways go according to plan. In this case, they did not go according to plan, but Beacon did their best to remedy the situation, and I appreciated this.

They were quick, fast and installed the lights! :)

Victor called first thing in the morning with his ETA and arrived exactly on time. He walked me through the process as well as any costs that might not fall within the realm of the Deal. I needed to add a drop for the light switch and I upgraded the style of recessed lights to match my newly renovated kitchen which is why the amount of money spent is more then the Deal. I was asked for my approval at each step and warned when drywall might be damaged (It never was). Victor moved all the furniture to access the ceiling locations and replaced everything when he was done. There was virtually no clean up left for me to do. The home inspection was safety first and cosmetic last. Everything was value added for me, especially since we are updating an older house. The final tally was exactly as anticipated. My only regret? Not having bought more Deals! I will definitely be calling them again.

Bob (Owner) came over to discuss my project and my electrical needs. Along with the basic electrical box upgrade, there were other electrical services that I wanted to have him provide estimates. As Bob was discussing my project, he spoke to me in terms that I could understand. He provided recommendations for my consideration. I felt he was not pushy to get me to sign on the dotted line for the additional services. I found his quote for the additional work to be fair and reasonable. On my miscellaneous list, which there 10 items, only two were not completed because other projects were needed to be completed prior to the electrical services. The electrician assigned to perform the work was Donte. He was exceptional. He work steadfast for 1.5 days. He was focused the entire time and I really didn't hear a peep from him. After the first day, he ran down the list of what he accomplished for that day and what was needed to complete the project. He was timely on both days and professional. When the entire project was completed, we went over the entire list of tasks to make sure it was completed to my satisfaction. I was extremely pleased with the services provided and would contact Becon Electrical in the future.

We purchased a package deal they were running for 4 recessed lights for our kitchen. We selected Beacon for their high marks and great price on the package. There were some limitations to the placement of our recessed lights due to the fact that our master bathroom plumbing was located directly above the kitchen. As a result, we were left with many screwdriver holes of failed attempts to confirm light locations. In addition, there was a mistake made when cutting the hole of a "confirmed" location to only later find out there was, in fact, a beam in the way. We've since hired someone to repair the drywall as the mistake repair was a bit out of my comfort zone of abilities. The other minor issue we had was with the fit and finish of the capped box in our ceiling where the original florescent light was installed. The electrician set up the junction box on an angle so it does not look like a professional job. In addition to the poor positioning, there were two noticeable holes left around the box in the ceiling from failed attempts at screwing the cover to the box.I was uneasy about the job and even tipped the electrician as I felt it was the right thing to do, but have been less than completely satisfied since then. The lights themselves look great and there have been no problems with the electrical work outside of the drywall repairs. ------------------------ UPDATE: Bob, owner, reached out to us to do what he could to remedy the situation. We were pleased with his responsivness and eagerness to remedy the situation.

The gentlemen were very professional and attentive, and they did a fantastic job with the installation. They even moved up the installation date to accomodate a change in my schedule. However, I spent much more than expected because the lights being offered in the promotion were not of the kind that I wanted. Thus, there was an additional cost to supply the requested lights. Although I was warned before the work commenced, the promtion had not mentioned that the gentlemen were not responsible for patching and repairing the cuts they made in the ceiling when performing the installation.

I got an estimate from Bob Hanifin, Beacon Electrical Services, based on a special promotion through Angie's List. Bob was professional and thorough in his evaluation, suggestions and estimate. The work was completed in one day with minimum power outage. I'm pleased with Beacon Electrical Services' work.

I did not know how to place the lights optimally. Victor eyed the ceiling and made a recommendation for the placement of the lights and they both did a wonderful job. They were both very courteous and professional and also made some other suggestions from an electrical perspective. Diane in the office was very helpful too. :) Thanks Beacon!
