Great job by Beacon Electrical.I have an old house with a quirky attic so their job installing the recessed lights in my bedroom was very challenging and took longer than usual. They were friendly, curteous and did a great job. Would definitely use again.

The home has had a lot of non-professional work done to the electrical system over the past 60 years (we just moved in 2 months ago). Despite running into many "surprises" that were left behind from the previous owners, Jessie and the rest of the Beacon staff remained on budget and provided high quality service. Jessie stayed and worked a 14 hour day just because he didn't want to leave the job until we had power. We are very satisfied with the work performed.

Victor (who did the install) was a really nice guy who clearly takes pride in his work.

Victor is very professional and great electrician. This is the second job that I have had Beacon complete for me and I have been highly pleased both times. When Victor installed the 4 recessed lights in my kitchen, he connected them to an existing light fixture. When he removed the fixture we discovered it had been installed wrong and even dangerously. He promptly came up with a solution, got the parts out of the van, and it was fixed within minutes. A previous owner had installed a pot rack light fixture without an electrical housing box which can cause fires if it was to short. I have better peace of mind knowing Beacon has done the job.

They sent someone out, but that person was unable to do the project due to the type of the roof. In follow up calls, they were not able to perform the work within the timeframe of the deal and recommended I get a refund. They put me on their list for the spring, so I can have the fan installed before summer. Although they didn't do the work, I felt they handled everything fine.

The installers arrived promptly, made the measurements, double-checked with me, and proceeded to do the work. I did two upgrades (matching receptacles to what was already installed, and a switch dimmer for the light rather than the "pushbutton" type). Each was an additional charge. They managed to install without having to enter the walls, and re-routed my switches to be more convenient with the newly installed lights. I was, and continue to be very satisfied with the work. I recommend them, and will use them in the future for my electrical needs. Top-shelf people.

The technician arrived early to complete the installation. He was very polite and worked quickly. I was concerned about an extra cost to adjust the size of the hole if the new attic fan was not the same size as the existing attic fan, but when he did his assessment, the new attic fan turned out to be the same size and he said that he would recut the hole at no extra charge if necessary. The technician did convince me to upgrade the attic fan for an additional $120 to the attic fan that has a lifetime warranty, rather than a 2 year warranty from the manufacturer. He explained the benefits and was not pushy about upgrading. The installation was completed quickly and he discussed setting the temperature at which the attic fan would operate. He also completed a free electrical checkup on the house and provided some other improvements the company could assist with. All in all, a good experience.

Electrical work was great. The price did not include repairing the ceiling where they cut holes to run the wiring. Fortunately I am handy and was able to repair this myself.

Kevin was friendly and courteous. He had just come from a difficult job with another customer, and was called back to that customer's house about halfway through doing my work. He was late returning to my house and, because of my evening commitments, ended up having to return the next week to finish up. Despite this disruption, I was pleased overall. I paid $399 for the Angie's List deal, which was to replace up to 25 electrical outlets. There was an additional $17.50 charge for each outlet that needed to have a "tail" (I think that's what he called it), which I had not anticipated. If I had realized that going in, I might not have signed up for the deal because of the added cost ($399 sounds so much cheaper than $610), but when all was said and done, I was glad I had the work done and will use Beacon again if/when I need electrical work done.

We had used Beacon for another property we own and they did a great job and they were reasonable and timely. Then a few weeks later Half of the power went out at our house. This meant we had no water and half of the power to our house was gone, no way to cook and we have 4 disabled kids , some of whom have special diets that required hot water and some are on feeding tubes. We called Beacon. They arranged for Victor to come help. That was at 3:30pm. They said he would be here by 5:30 and he was here by 6:00. He immediately explained their rates and how he would handle our call. He then went to work checking our main panel. Then he went outside and discovered I had a problem at the meter entrance to our house. He had me call the local power company but then he spoke to the tech there himself and explained the problem and told them about our circumstances. This allowed the electric company to bring the correct tools. Victor stayed with us until the power company arrive at 7:00 pm and then he remained and helped the power company tech correct the problem. It was round 8:00 pm. He did this on his own time and did not charge us any extra. Victor really went above and beyond the call of duty! We have some other electrical work to be done and we'll definitely use Beacon!

They were very organized. They came as a team and were very efficient.

I was not able to use a Big Deal due to their was extra cost for adding a gas line. He was able to recommend someone to do the additional gas line but it took more than a week to get that person out. The provider himself was very polite and professional. I would use the provider if it was under different circumstances.

Excellent - friendly individual who explained the full procedure

The master electrician we got (Jessie) was very thorough. He came a week prior to do a pre-installation survey. On the day of the replacement, he arrived early and spent the full day into Friday evening to complete the work. He came back the following business day to do a full house electrical health check and found a few minor things that even the inspector missed when we bought the house. He was completely up to date on current codes and even popped out a couple of outlets to check the type of connectors that were used when the house was built. Overall, we feel very confident in the quality of our electrical system now with our shiny new panel and surge supressor system.

In working with Beacon I would have to say they are very professional and have a great deal of attention to detail. The install was a little rocky in the beginning wish some personal issues. The key was that they were here the next day less the issue and completed the job on time on on budget. The issue is something that the company has permanently corrected which is very good. I would suggest this company in the future and I plan to use them again as well. They are very good at what they do.

I bought the Big Deal to get the attic fan. I then decided to get additional work done such as installing attic lights and a ceiling fan. All the work was done professionality and without hassle to me. Good job.

Bottom Line Up Front - the electrical work was done correctly as far as we can tell. In all fairness, no one gets "A"s from me unless I am absolutely delighted. I was not delighted. - The work required Dominion Power to meet Beacon Electric at the house and cut power so Beacon could work. This was not well coordinated or well managed, and appointments were missed by both Beacon and Dominion on more than one occasion. The scheduling was Beacon's responsibility. Beacon would show up and Dominion would not...then Dominion would arrive unannounced and Beacon would not be there. Frustrating for us - Discussed a 30Amp circuit to plug RV in with the owner of Beacon when he came to the house...thought it was part of the deal and 'no big deal.' Did not happen. - Drywall around the old panel was cut away, leaving a large hole around the panel. Was told it was necessary and that Beacon would not fix it. TO THEIR CREDIT...they issued a $150 refund for leaving the hole/gap. Seems like a surefire way to irritate a customer by leaving a hole in their wall and no way to fix it. To Angie's List: Based on this experience, we will not use Angie's Lists "BIG DEAL" for anything again in the future. It was definitely NOT worth the money and, especially, the TIME we had to spend dealing with the company.

They are very professional and courtesy and understanding. They are willing to take the extra step to meet my schedule. The prices they quoted are very reasonable. I would recommend their services.

Great! We purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for attic fan installation. Soon after, Beacon contacted us and set up an appointment. Victor was very professional and explained very clearly what the deal did and did not cover, and how the work would be done. He followed up each phone call with an email. I especially appreciate that they called us prior to the installment appointment to confirm, and arrived on time. They installed the fan and gave us an itemized estimate for some other electrical work in the house that needs to be done. I have no complaints at all about the work performed and would use them again. My only complaint is regarding their responsiveness about further work we wanted done. I received via email a link to an estimate for other electrical work they recommended. I thought this was very helpful, and I responded via the web application, asking about other jobs we wanted done (light fixtures, etc). I never received a response. It's not a big deal, I can call them, but it was the one glitch I noticed in using this provider.

Prior to setting a date to install the new electrical panel, Beacon Electric sent Victor Figueroa to look at our existing panel and to perform a whole-house electrical inspection. He created a detailed list of the items that needed to be addressed to meet current code requirements, made some additonal recommendations, and reviewed the price of the work with me. The work was scheduled for September 26, and Victor called us the night before to confirm the appointment and then he also called the next morning to confirm he was on his way. Anyone who has waited, often in vain, for a contractor will understand how reassured we were by that level of customer service. Upon arrival, he got right to work and finished the job in about 8 hours. He worked diligently throughout the day and cleaned up each area in which he worked. We are extremely happy with the new panel and the other work Victor did for us. We felt well-informed throughout the process. Beacon Electric's office staff is also wonderful to work with. They take care of all details: scheduling appointments, sending permits; scheduling inspections; and coordinating with power companies. It is a full-service company and it pays careful attention to each phase of a project.

The technicians arrived on time, were friendly and professional, explained the entire process and asked if I had any additional questions. They were in and out in no time and did a fantastic job. I am very pleased with the service, professionalism and the functionality of my new attic fan. I look forward to doing business with them again as I go down my list of home owner projects.
