The technician was courteous, prompt and knowledgeable and performed all the work in a timely manner. Part of the service call was to conduct a free house electrical inspection, and he found several items that needed repairing or replacing. He subsequently completed the additional work and we could not be happier with the results.

The job included the installation of a 10 circuit sub-panel for a 7,500 watt portable generator. Beacon was one 6 different companies that I received an estimate from, and provided the lowest price. I am not a "lowest bidder" fan by nature, but their estimator was by far the most knowledgable and credible of all. The day of the job, Victor (who I highly recommend) came to my house on time and proceeded to work. I am by nature curious about anything technical and asked a number of questions about the physics of the home electrical system. Victor was more than happy to oblige my questions while performing his task. He also noted a wiring deficiency due to a code change that went into effect after my house was built, which he corrected at no charge. Although I do a lot of home wiring myself (I know my limitations), I will be going back to Beacon for any electrical needs that I don't want to tackle. Very happy with this company.

beacon installer came on time& we were without power for less than 4 hours as he promised. he placed two ground rods& placed flags at the spots where the rods were placed. he gave us the installation permit & the inspection visit by fairfax county went smoothly. we would recommend beacon for electrical work& plan to have them replace our house outlets& switches.

Their estimate was a lot of money. It was more than what I had expected. I called them later and said I am ready but I never heard from them.

The team of two electricians did a great job on taking out and replacing the old circuit breaker box with the new one. There was a more senior electrician and an apprentice. However, after installing a line to the rear of the house and putting in floodlights for the backyard -- about two days later they stopped working. We called them back and they came a week later to fix it - after I had to test the line to see if voltage was going through and buying a new set of lights - and they claimed they had fixed again. The problem had been they ran the line to a switch light in our kitchen - we had asked them to run a dedicated line for the motion sensor/floodlights. Again, after about a day, these lights stopped working again. We contacted the company a third time, and after apologizing and promising to send someone else out - we didn't hear from them for a few days. At this point I contacted the head of the company and asked to have the master electrician come and fix the problem permanently or we would never do business with them again. They finally sent a new electrician out (with the apprentice) and figured out again they ran a line to another switch in the house. They finally fixed the problem after the third attempt, and were very apologetic - and didn't charge anything. It seemed like an honest mistake, however, the senior electrician should have caught this problem on the first try, I don't blame the apprentice necessarily. Overall, I'm not sure I will use them again.

It went very well. Both technicians could work independently and finished the work quickly. They cleaned up the work area, were very professional, and were both very competent.

Updating the review to account for Beacon response. I understand about the technician and hope all is well after his visit to the emergency room and I amended the rating based on that response. My frustration was that I had to take a day off from work for the installation and basically lost that day completely. Again, I understand stuff happens and the technician is ok. For those reading this review, please take it with a grain of salt as it is based on my experience and no services were performed for me due to emergency cancellation of the appointment by Beacon. Please judge their performance based on the quality of their service.

They worked quickly and professionally and cleaned up thoroughly. The fixtures all look great. Steven Moore, the electrician who did the second installation in the kitchen, was particularly conscientious about making sure the fixture was hanging how we wanted. It would be handy if the company also could do drywall repair for this type of job, but we had to do that separately.

The only thing we did not like was that we bought the Angies list deal and when the man first came out to do the job he said that it would cost more money because we had a two story house. We also had to chose between two different options for price. So instead of the deal of about $ 300 we had to spend $600. Again they were very professional but I did not like the deception in the price. However, I will say that happens with a lot of deals that don't have enough in the fine print and not just with this company. It is something that should be fixed in a lot of deal offers.

Very good experience. The office staff promptly got our work scheduled and the tech's who came out to the house were punctual, clean, polite and very helpful.

They agreed to come on a Saturday, to fit my schedule...the young man was very personable...told me he could repair my fan, so I was able to return the newly purchased one...gave me advice on a grounding concern....worked steadily

The crew was thorough in explaining how they would perform the job, how my walls and ceiling would be impacted, gave me well thought-out options, performed the job neatly and competently, and cleaned up after they were done. Would definitely recommend this company to others.

There was a mixup in scheduling. The following day the owner came to perform the install and provided an upgrade to the equipment and reduced the price.

Heating system on second floor stopped working. I called and they were able to send a workman out same day which was huge since it was December 23rd, day before Christmas Eve! Workman arrived on time, with shoe protectors, nice! He got right to work. He was very honest and was able to repair our unit by simply cleaning it out. We were not charged any additional money other than the service call fee. Repairman made a few suggestions for our future maintenance, etc., which were not in a salesman type pitch but more like advice from someone who knows a lot in order to help us out. We were very pleased.

I paid for the service and contacted the company to get it performed. I was told that a technician would do an assessment first then schedule the installlation. The person I spoke to on the phone was very nice and the appointment was made within a reasonable time. The technician came out and we discussed what I wanted. He looked at my breakers and said that what I bought only provided for one breaker which equates to one thing (i.e. microwave, or kitchen outlets or living room outlets, etc.). I was quoted over $900 beyond what I had already paid if I wanted to hook up multiple breakers to be able to use outlets and lights in several rooms. I declined and was able to get a refund from Angie's list so I did not use the service. The technician was on time, polite and seemed very knowledgable
