Service tech arrived on time and professional in work. Completed list in one hour and 15 mins--I had underestimated time it would take for repairs. I suggested I could use additional socket in bathroom but Tech unable to do as had recent knee surgery and could not crawl around in attic but did give estimate of $255. Also while removing broken light bulb advised me of need to replace cans in all ceiling recessed light and wrote up estimate for $945 to do this work. Since time spent was only 1.25 hours I was given a $20 credit towards any of these repairs within 30 days. I also was charged $45 for the dimmer switch

No work was performed since I was informed of additional costs. I'm glad they informed me before beginning the work, but since the Angies list deal I purchased was more expensive then several similar deals out there, and I purchased it since I used the company before, I wasn't expecting such a hike of additional costs. Not sure if I'll use them again since I realized how much they were charging for a relatively small project - nearly one grand to install four recessed lights.

Went very well. They came on time, finished in one day, and even provided the name of someone to do all the drywall and ceiling repair that was needed. I highly recommend Beacon.

We called the company--they were very friendly and we scheduled an appointment for someone to come out and see the layout of the property and also set up a date for installation. The estimate revealed that it would be impossible to provide the generator at the price listed. Our home because of an addition has two separate fuse boxes which cannot be isolated from each. T other. The estimated cost for installation was therefore more than twice the cost of the coupon purchased. Everything was explained to us in great detail and we appreciated the time that was spent with us and were sorry that we could not make use of this great deal.

Carlos was awesome. He did the estimate and returned about a week later and did the work. I thought it was great having the technician that did the estimate also do the work because there was no misunderstanding about what needed to be done. He asked for my input on the location of the recessed lights and made great suggestions. Not only would I use Beacon again, but I would recommend them to my friends and family.

I got the deal right before Christmas and they were able to do the work at the beginning/middle of January. They were punctual - two electricians came out - a master and an apprentice. The deal covered one of the technician's time and we were charged for the additional time/apprentice. The work was professional and well done. They cleaned up after themselves. My husband, who was home with them, was very pleased and he is a very hard judge.

Excellent service. Replaced all the recepticles in the deal. They did such a good job, I had them replace 8 additional outlets at the regular price. The 2 man team was an excellent team, they took the time to explain what they were doing, gave advice and made recommendations for future work questions that I had.

The electrician that came by did a home inspection, not the panel work that I purchased. However the company did agree to treat the voucher that I purchased as a credit.

The company is currently switching scheduling software and there seems to be a slight glitch with it, as our scheduled appointment was missed; however, the company's response to their error showed their professionalism and desire to please the customer. I contacted Heidi to find out what had happened with the appointment and she admitted the software had apparently dropped it. We agreed to an appointment for later in the day and the owner of company offered to do the inspection at no charge. It impressed me that they didn't quibble over fault but moved immediately to correct the problem. When Carlos arrived, he was friendly, helpful and professional, putting on plastic shoe covers before entering our home. Carlos went with us through our house, providing explanations for various items in the inspection and offering recommendations. At the conclusion of the inspection, we provided him with a list of items we would like to have fixed during a future appointment with Beacon. We're glad and relieved to find an electrician we feel comfortable working with and a company that stands behind their promises and work.

We found our panel replacement experience to be less than completely satisfactory. We contracted Beacon to remove our old panel and replace it with a new one. However we experienced several problems: (1) The employee mislabeled the new panel. Including huge mistakes, such as labeling one switch as the "basement" when we do not have a basement. (2) The employee failed to remove a secondary panel from the wall that we agreed would be removed. The employee removed the wires but left the box attached the wall. (3) They failed to remove any of the trash and debris after service. They left the old panel, boxes, and cigarette butts on the side of my driveway. I then had to bag the old panel, break down the boxes, and sweep up the cigarettes. Our trash service would not pick up the old electrical panel since it was considered "bulk" and we had to pay a disposal fee and schedule a pick up, on our own. We contacted the owner and he agreed to refund us $50 to cover the disposal fee. However, it does not make up for the fact that the service was poor and no one offered to come back out to the house to re-label the panel.

Went just fine. I called to schedule the appt which took a bit more effort than I thought it should. But finally it was arranged and they would send one worker to complete the 2 hrs of work. I did tell her exactly what I needed done and asked if that was within the 2 hr time frame. I didn't really ever get a reply on that. The guy who came was really nice and very helpful. He replaced 4 outlets and 3 light fixtures. And actually the 2 hrs was not used up totally because he was done with all I asked about 20 minutes early. I wish I would have had more info on what they thought would be appropriate work for 2 hrs - I could have added on more stuff but just wasn't prepared and didn't want to go over the time. Its now 3 months later and so far all is good and I've had no problem with the work.

This is HANDS DOWN the most professional technicians I have ever had the pleasure of performing work in my home. From the moment I spoke to Victor (Ops Manager) to the moment both Victor and Francis completed the job, this was an excellent experience. Victor explained the entire process in incredible detail. The punctuality, professionalism, and technical job knowledge performed by both Vic and Francis is above reproach. In consideration of the limited budget available to complete my needs, I found BEACON to very accomodating in not only ensuring all of my needs were met but most of all ensuring my needs were met at a cost I could afford! Steven and Francis did great work. It was a big job, and was handled in two separate days. They were very detail oriented, made sure of the exact circuits that I wanted switched over to the generator, and easily explained the capacity of my generator and the power requirements for my sump pump, basement pump, basement refrigerators, some kitchen appliances, etc. They were respectful of me and my house, and cleaned up after themselves. After finishing the electrical panel, Steven discovered that there was a problem with my generator, recommended a small engine repair (Sterling Mower), and both of them even loaded my heavy generator into my truck to take to the repair shop! On the return trip, they easily installed new lights, switch, separate wire run, and changed out 4 other light fixtures. They had to make some small holes in the drywall, but made the cuts as clean and easy to repair as possible. At the beginning of the job, the scope of the work was discussed completely, with prices, and also some suggestions on how I could get another discount for the lighting, besides the Angies coupon for the transfer panel. At the end of each day, they showed me and sent via email an itemized receipt/invoice. There were no surprise costs at the end. I would definitely use Beacon again and highly recommend them. The only negative is that it did take about 3 weeks for initial appointment, because they are so busy - but good work is worth the wait!

Beacon Electric is a first class company! I was able to secure an appointment quickly in anticipation of a large graduation party at my home. Beacon Electric called ahead to narrow the window of arrival and was on-time. The technician was highly professional and provided an estimate before beginning the work. The work was completed in a timely manner. The technician had to replace a light bulb in a very difficult-to-reach location but was undeterred. The light bulb was replaced with a long-lasting bulb and I now have light in a hall where no light has been in YEARS! The dimmer switch was replaced and the front porch light installed without any issues. The company called me while the technician was at my home to see if the work was to my satisfaction. The follow-up call from the owner, Bob Hanifin, to ensure the work was satisfactory was first rate customer service -- the kind of customer service one does not see too often. I would highly recommend Beacon Electric and plan on using Beacon for all of my electrical needs. Thank you Beacon!!!

The service technician was thorough and thoughtful trying to figure out the best way to fish the new wire without destroying much drywall. After some careful work, we were able to fish a new wire with minimum drywall cuts. Once we had the new wire in place, he continued with the Angie's List Big Deal by replacing some sockets and provided a detailed electrical inspection. Beacon was very prompt, reasonable, and nice to work with.

They came out and we decided that is was not the right timing for the project and they said they can do other types of work but I decided I didn’t want to do any of the projects.

Everything turned out well. They showed on time, did good work, and cleaned up after themselves. I also liked that they had upfront flat fees for services and that they completed the work in a timely manner.

Steve was very professional, in my house in time. He was very efficient, clean up the mess and answer questions. I will definitely use this company again.

We took advantage of an Angie's List coupon provided by this company. Jesse, a Master Electrician, arrived punctually and was professional and helpful. We had considered simply replacing the outdoor fixtures ourselves, but are now glad we had him take care of it. He corrected existing installation problems we had not known about, and secured the new fixtures properly. The glass lamp we were relocating in the kitchen had previously been hung improperly - it is now done the right way! He made helpful suggestions about the work we would like to have done in the future. His expertise made this a "Grade A" experience.

the work.We realized soon after Steven arrived that he was very knowledgeable about electrical issues. He worked smartly and we could see that he had quite a few years of experience as he confirmed. He deftly removed the large ceiling fan in our office and replaced it with the light fixture that we had purchased. We were surprised at how quickly he accomplished He centered it well on the ceiling and it looks great! We were also glad that he was able to fix the short in our other light fixture so that it works perfectly now.

These guys did a great job -- from the owner of the company who did the initial inspection, provided options, and prepared the cost estimate to the two guys who did the installation. The worked the entire day, inside and out, in cold wet weather with March snow on the ground. They encountered a manufacturing problem with the switch box they were going to install, found a nearby place to get a new one, picked it up during their lunch period, and had it installed by the end of the day. Very personable guys who answered all my questions and gave me advice on how to operate all elements of the setup. I would use them again for other electrical work on the house.

The job included a new panel which included the (larger than the original) panel, breakers (ad included up to 20--I ordered several more which of course increased the advertised price of $1,199 to $1,400), labor costs and all county permits Following completion of the job a meeting took place in my Unit on Jan. 3, 2014 that included the Arlington County Electrical Inspector, my Building Engineer and myself, and the contractor's completed work was approved and a certificate issued. I am VERY PLEASED with the entire process, and happy that is one less problem I have to worry about. Several of my neighbors who learned of my project also had their electrical panels replaced.
