We are very pleased with Beacon Electrical Services. They kept us informed from the appointment, appointment reminders and when they were about to arrive. The technician was very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. He upgraded the outlets along the sink counter, fixed a reversed polar outlet and capped a light switch and light fixture we no longer used. He also upgraded the electrical source and ground wired the Garage door opener Price was reasonable.

Original appointment scheduled on 5/3 for 5/8. Received call day of appointment saying earlier appointment ran long and service person would not make it that day. Okay fine things happen, no problem. Rescheduled for the 10th and this appointment was to be the very first one that morning (8-8:30am) so nothing would cause a delay. Lo and behold, it's 9am on the day of my appointment and no service rep, no phone call saying there's a problem, nothing. Call the office and Diedre says they had an emergency (customer without power the night before), no available reps, etc. Offers to call me when they have someone available. I cancelled my appointment. Look we all get that life is imperfect and stuff happens, but to not alert your customers ahead of time - be proactive in communicating with them when things do change - is just plain bad customer service. Too many options for providers on Angie's List who understand that. Moving on..

Scheduled an estimate. The gentlemen who came seemed much more interested in upselling me on other things than on doing my projects. Eventually I was presented estimates ranging from over $4000 to $750 for various projects. Even the lowest price was more than triple what I ended up paying another provider.

Friday was very friendly and knowledgeable and replaced the switch that controls the ceiling fan and light. Quick and painless :)

Melton the technician was very courteous and professional. He listened to me and explained everything that he was going to do during the diagnostic inspection. Melton then provided me with options for the repair work, fix all, part of the problem or do nothing. I will definitely hire again in the near future. Thank you!

Jimmy (the technician) came by and was a stand up guy. He quickly assessed my issue (bad switch) and provided me with multiple quotes for the repair as well as future work I may want performed. While I didn't need any parts and labor after Jimmy determined the switch just went bad which I can replace myself, I will certainly keep Beacon in mind once I decide to move forward with other electrical work.

Milton was on-time and performed the work very efficiently. He, and his associate (who's name I have forgotten) were very personable and very speedy. I found it a very pleasant experience.

I would like you to know that the service personnel who was sent to my daughters home for the install was beyond professional. He explain to me options that i could take that would be even better than i had envisioned. The Service Technician Mr. Milton is a true believer in providing good customer service. I had some other electrical concerns with the home and we discussed the matter and I will be contacting Beacon Electrical Service again in the near future and hope Beacon provide me with the same quality service. This is my daughters first home and i have informed them that any matter concerning electrical service they are to call Beacon.

The service technician, Milton, was professional and courteous. Additionally, the staff members who handled scheduling were very helpful. I had to reschedule the original appointment, and Beacon Electrical was very good about working with my availability, not forcing me to fit into their schedule. Their pricing was very competitive, and their customer service was outstanding. I will recommend them to others, and if /when I need electrical services in the future. I will contact Beacon first.

Beacon called to let me know the technician was 30 minutes away. Paul was on time, extremely professional, and knowledgeable. Got the job done quickly. Highly recommend!

Milton was fantastic! Totally professional, quick and knowledgeable.

No show at the time of the appointment. I contacted Beacon 30min after the appointment time and was told that the technician called sick. No apology. I rescheduled the appointment. This time, I got a text about 30 min before the appointment with tracking info. However, the truck stayed still even 30min after the appointment. Called Beacon again and this time I was told that "the technician got in a traffic." Good job in making excuses. Lost a business.

Bob did my walkthrough and estimation. He took the time to explain everything and answered all of my questions. He came up with a list of different options I could choose (ranging from "everything we talked about" to the minimum set of things that I had to get done.) I happened to choose the "everything" option, but Bob didn't push me towards it. Bob was able to schedule the work for the following week. Milton did the actual work. He was efficient and knowledgeable. He did take two days (which Bob had suggested), but was efficient enough to only need about an hour of work the following day.

See above, the service resulted in a incorrect analysis and an embarrassing high price.

What an OUTSTANDING job Jimmy did on completing the annual maintenance on my generator! He arrived as expected and told me exactly what he was going to do and went about doing it in a highly professional manner. When he was finished he went over the work he performed and left the area spotless. I have been a customer of Beacon for many years and their team sets the standard for customer service that should be emulated by others, Jimmy is a perfect example of the professional service they provide. Simply the VERY BEST!

Everything was replaced and/or fixed. No issues

Everything was replaced or repaired as requested.

Electricity was out for half of my outlets upstairs. Service representative checked all the breakers and then determined at least one of the wall outlets needed to be replaced. Gave me three options for repair and I choose the least expensive “bandaid” repair. Option to replace all outlets in house was $3600. Subsequently I have determined that this is over five times what others licensed and A-rated electricians will charge. Good service but extremely expensive.

The electrician arrived the next day after my call. He was on time and very courteous. After diagnosing the problem, he indicated that all my dimmer switches on the floor (ten years old as part of a remodel) were all rated for incandescent bulbs only. He replaced all of the fluorescent (replacement) bulbs with incandescent bulbs in the kitchen and all of the spots worked fine. We discussed that incandescent bulbs are being phased out (are energy inefficient), and it will be very difficult to get replacements. He proposed replacement of all of the dimmer switches on the floor with switches that would except incandescent, fluorescent and LED lights. The total cost was almost $1100. Although I received a 5 % Angie's List discount, he was unwilling to provide a "bulk" discount for changing 5 switches. After he left, my research indicated that Angie's List has specials for under $200 to change five switches. Beacon Electrical appears to provide good service but at a very steep price.

The work went great! Michael came out and showed me several areas of concern, labeled the electrical panel, and gave me an estimate to repair the safety issues noted.

Thayne and Brandon installed the ceiling light and disposed of the chandelier it replaced. They also inspected the electrical system and as a result I had them install an electrical panel surge suppressor and twelve replacement electrical sockets. The work was done well and I'm happy with the results.

Scheduled with Beacon and was reminded of appointment the day before. Electrician 'Jordan' arrived; looked a the floor outlet; explained current code and was very honest about what could and couldn't not be done with the outlet box - even came up with a few ideas for the flooring installers to provide an access point for the box in the future. Jordan also reviewed the wiring to main light switch in guest bedroom to determine best way to correct previous contractors mistake. Provided a quote on the spot which I believe was very reasonable and performed the work. Jordan also commented that since my house was build in mid-'80's he'd like to take a look at the panel for any corrosion, etc. before he left, just in case. Although no corrosion nor a need to replace the panel, he did find that several of the wire connector screws had become quite loose. He then mentioned that although I probably didn't need panel maintenance performed that minute, he did recommend scheduling the maintenance since my home was over 20 years old - again I was provided a quote. Additionally he informed that this is a service that needed to be performed every 10 years (which I actually verified and he was spot on!). After thinking about it while Jordan was still there, I did decide to schedule - Jordan than made the offer to stay and perform the maintenance rather than having someone come out on a second day (at this time it was around 7pm). I agreed and glad I did. As Jordan was performing the work he found that several screws had backed out significantly to the point where the lead wire could easily be pulled out and could have caused arcing and potential fire hazard. Can't thank Jordan and Beacon Electric enough for the great service and preventing a rather serious issue (i.e. fire)! Will definitely be calling Beacon again for my electrical service needs.

Overall, it went quite well. I had a circuit that was 'acting up' - the outlets were loose when plugging in a cord and a GFCI that was intermittently tripping. I also had some surface mounted wiring that needed to be placed correctly - into the wall. I showed the technicians the GFCI that was acting up, the electrical panel, and the area where the outlets needed to be placed correctly. They then spent the next 90 minutes diagnosing the circuit and formulating a plan to resolve my GFCI circuit and outlets. They then presented a detailed description of what they proposed to do - with options to choose. A quick fix - replace the GFCI - and solved the problem, an intermediate fix, and the complete fix. We discussed the offers, and we selected the complete fix - change the breaker, GFCI, and devices (plugs, switches) on that circuit and burying the outlets (a more expensive option - more labor/ drywall damage) in the wall. They had to return to complete the work - at my request/schedule- three days later due to the amount of work needed to complete the job. An exceptionally professional job! The holes in the drywall were done with the aid of a level and numbered! Holes had to be drilled in the wall studs to run the wire - yet the holes were only big enough to get the drill in the wall and pass the wire while allowing for ease of drywall repair while mounting the boxes to the wall studs (my request too). They took their time in answering all my questions and cleaned up the area they were working in. They also did replace some bathroom ventilation fans - not part of the original quote - with some excellent timers for the fans! I highly recommend Beacon Electrical.

The whole process from the original site visit to provide a quote to the install went very smoothly. The technician was very knowledgeable and did the work in the timeline and amount provided.
