"Thanks for the comment. We look forward to seeing you again soon."
I've been going to Shapes for hair cuts for many years, but this is the first time I tried their Signature Facial. It was absolutely wonderful! It was a very relaxing hour-long service that included cleansing, exfoliating, and extraction. I felt great afterward and my face is still glowing several days later. This was my first facial ever and I now I think I'll make it a monthly thing!
I also had a spa manicure and pedicure that weren't quite as impressive. I would have expected more massaging and pampering since these were the pricier "spa" services. I felt like my feet barely had any time soaking in the water.
Fortunately, Shapes was offering all three services at a 25 percent discount the weekend I visited. This made the pricing very reasonable. I would have been happy to pay full price for the facial, but the nail services seem overpriced for what you get.
Overall, I recommend trying Shapes, especially if you are lucky enough to get a discount!
I showed Emily my ideas and explained what I didnt want and was able to figure it out exactly. Im in my lower 30s and still wanting to be trendy without trying to look too young. Emily took my vision and blew it out of the water! I am so unbelievably happy with my new style. I cannot wait to go back and maybe even try something else new next time!
I use to have my hair cut in top salons in NYC and I can honestly say that this cut is the most impressive Ive ever had!
- Nice Staff, could be a tad "warmer"
- Very convenient to my home
- Like the color & Cut
- Free Sugar hand scrub
Don't like
Not able to add tip to credit/debit card, plus you don't know this until you go and pay
Very expensive, and I have been to other shops in the area
Over kill on trying to sell products
Where the real disappointment occured was with the haircut. I requested a Sr. stylist, I haven't had a good haircut in three yearrs and have gone to over 10 salons in the area looking for the right fit. I was willing to pay up for a good stylist because I was hoping I'd find someone special and also I had a very important reason to get my hair right - my husband was returning from Afghanistan and I wanted to look my best. The stylist was cold, unfriendly, hard to understand, and difficult to work with. I brought her pictures of myself from a few years ago so she could see the length and style of bangs I wanted. I told her I wanted lots of layers and explained that the last place I went to did this 5 level thing and it wasn't blended well so it looked like I had levels in my hair. She immedietely displayed dissatisfaction with my wanting lots of layers. I don't know if it was because maybe she didn't think it would look good on me, but if that's the case, which I would've welcomed recommendations, that's why I went to a Sr. stylist, then she should've communicated that to me. Instead she rattled off a bunch of things, but she had such a thick accent, I couldn't understand what she was saying. I didn't want to seem rude, so I tried to repeat what I thought she said to confirm, and she just looked at me and said, "What do you want?". She didn't cut the bangs the way I wanted, when I asked her to go shorter, she barely made any change and then she said, "Ok you can separate the bangs like your picture using product." The whole point of the picture was the mimic the length and cut. I stopped asking her to make changes because she just seemed to be getting annoyed.
Then when I went to pay the price was lower than a Sr. stylist, so she was actually a Jr. stylist! So I went under the pretense that I was going to a Sr. stylist and I got a Jr. instead. They properly charged me for a Jr., but what a waste. The haircut overall is fine, not great, but I could've gotten the same cut at a Hair Cuttery for half the price and actually been treated nicely.
I guess the search for a good stylist continues.
