Service Provider ResponseI apologize the issues we had with your laminate installation have not been resolved. When we originally began installing the laminate and discovered the concrete subfloor needed leveling we admit that it was not done properly to alleviate the problem. Although you had pulled up the carpet in the room, there was still a good amount of furniture and boxes in the room, and the true condition of the subfloor was missed by our salesperson. We charged you $250.00 which was half the cost of the materials and labor hours involved to level the floor. We also used the premium laminate padding at no charge to you, to help even out the floor. A couple of weeks later, one of the tongues on a laminate board broke. We returned and should have pulled up the entire floor to level it properly in order to solve the problem, but this was not something you wanted to do at the time. We all decided we would pull up 20 percent of the floor, level that area, as that was the area that was most problematic, with hopes this would resolve the problem. In addition, we refunded you the $250.00 for the leveling . This was agreeable to you, and the repairs were done. We have not heard anything from you and because this was done mid-January, we assumed everything was fine until we received word of the posting on Angie’s List. Had we known there were still problems we would have gladly addressed them. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience you experienced, and hope you will give us a chance to rectify this ongoing problem you are experiencing. Please contact us at your convenience. I must admit I do not remember the details of your job or any complaint made after we did your floors. I have spoken with the salesperson that handled your job and he advised me that we had Certified Services to remove the contents and cover the vents, and was not aware of any problems with your floors after we completed the job. I am perplexed as to why you would not contact us to let us know there was a problem. Regardless of the circumstances, I would like to make you a happy customer of Costen Floors.
