The work was done quickly and well. Everyone worked very hard. I am very happy with the result.

We found Steadfast Construction (SC) through a referral from a former neighbor who was quite happy from a similar project as well as from using Angie's List. We went through a careful selection process involving four vendors which included pricing proposals, drawings and observing pictures of previously completed jobs. SC was selected due to the best combination of pricing, quality, and recommendations. The project began with an attempt to screen in an existing deck on the side of the house that bordered a creek. We had the plans all done and the contract executed but the project got halted because of some zoning issues surrounding the proximity to a waterway. The owner of SC who we had not previously met came by to personally go over our options. We decided to move the project to a different location on the other side of the house which was a bit smaller but provided for better roofing options and overall usage. We asked for Rudy who had performed the work at the residence that had referred us to SC and he did a great job! He was very thorough and paid attention to detail, and cleaned up every evening before he left. The project overall took three weeks. We are still waiting for the stain to dry on the tongue and groove floors but are excited to use it for the balance of the summer. I would highly recommend this combination for anyone looking for a screened in porch project. What made SC standout the most was their service which included working through minor modifications to the original contract and decisions that needed to be made along the way.

I found Steadfast on Angie's List and hired them to screen in my back porch. The team did an excellent job, and I was very pleased. Fast forward 2 years later, an animal somehow made a huge hole in my porch screen overnight. Screen on one entire side of the porch was torn with a hold about 1 foot long and needed to be replaced. I called Steadfast to see what they could do. Jack, the general manager explained that they have a lifetime warrantee for materials but that did not cover 3rd party causes - like an animal damaging the screen. However, as a customer courtesy, he sent his repair team to replace the screen for NO CHARGE within 2 days! That is the type of outstanding company that Steadfast is - they stand behind their work and customer service is A#1. I would use them again in a heart beat!

Steadfast was very responsive, contacting me as soon as I purchased the Angie's Big Deal with them. The Deal was $39 for a consultation and 3-d rendering of the proposed project. We were very impressed with Mike Shepherd and immediately signed up to have Steadfast do the work. Similarly, once start date for the project was set our assigned Lead Contractor (Grover) was amazing - very polite, professional and responsive. Total project construction lasted only 3-4 days and the team worked very well with the code inspector to find cost effective solutions for us. The quality of workmanship is also appears to be great. The only area where I felt Steadfast needed some improvement was their customer service between when contract for work was signed and when contractor began work. While the duration between signing of contract and start of work was not long, it is still important for the transition from sales to project design & construction to seem seamless; every client should feel kept in the loop and comfortable knowing that their project is moving forward on time. Front office did not provide us with updates or timelines and I often found myself calling or emailing Mike as my point of contact to find out what was going on. The bright spot is however that Mike was always there for us and made sure we got the answers we needed. That paired with the quality of work and professionalism provided by Grover and team resulted in a wonderful new deck addition and an overall happy client.

The representative told us that he would send us estimates of the cost of a deck and detailed construction plans within five to seven days. We have now received some preliminary estimates and are examining them.

He came right on time and MOST importantly provided me with a design and an estimate of cost within a day as he promised. I could not believe it, most contractors that I've had experiences with have not been punctual. I had a question about the design and got a reply via email within moments. The vendor listen to my suggestions, he didn't rush the visit. It was an excellent experience overall. Thank you. Cissy

So so. Not a great experience. Great deck builder, Rudy, but the company is very poor. Owner, Kenny is very condescending, sarcastic and sometimes rude. They do not build when they say they will and once salesman, Miguel gets your down payment, you don't see any more from him. He is very professional when he comes out to provide your estimate. I had to call and call before my project actually started one month later than promised. Rudy was very pleasant and single-handedly built my deck and it is beautiful but unstained and not sealed in any way. I think That the "management" is lacking but they have a great guy building for them. They failed to replace my ivy guide on side of deck. Use caution when considering this company. Rudy is great, and I wish him the very best and his own company some day.

It started with a salesman coming out to the house. Steadfast was one of four companies we contacted for a quote. We really liked Mike, who came out and showed us pictures of other projects that the company had done. I asked if we would see him again and he said yes. We received a quote for a 12' x 16' patio which was much higher than we wanted to spend, I wrote to the company and explained that we wanted to keep the cost under $30,000 and what could we do. I was told that we could cut back on the size and take out the sky lights and that would bring us to around $25,000 - so that's what we did. We had been told that there would be two to three people working on the patio and that the whole project would take three weeks. We started the week of May 26th and had the final walk-through today, July 24th (about 8 weeks later). The sub-contractor that Steadfast uses is AMAZING!!! Rudy is a joy to work with, a fantastic craftsman - I would recommend him in a heartbeat. But Jack and Kenny were frustrating - they were only interested in getting their checks and that is the only time I heard from them. The level of communication with Jack and Kenny was disappointing at the least. The windows were delayed for three weeks. I was told that it was because they had to be custom ordered, which is fine, but they should have been ordered once the framing was done. Instead they were ordered two weeks later which put a three week delay on any additional work - during which time Steadfast put Rudy on another job so he wasn't available to work on our job. When I spoke to Kenny to complain about the delay he was condescending saying "obviously you don't understand contracts", to which I replied that I am a contract manager. His response was "well this is different and you must not understand construction". The contract stated that we would be getting Eze-Breeze windows but we received another brand. I felt that it was a "bait and switch". I spoke with Jack (the owner) and received a 20 minute explanation that boiled down to how Steadfast had decided to go with another company. He said that of the three contracts that were written with the Eze-Breeze window I was the only one they had "forgotten" to contact. I told Jack that I was very happy with the product but very disappointed with the lack of communication from Steadfast and about how rude Kenny had been. Jack apologized and said that he would come by on 7/16 for a final walk-through and to get the final payment. No one showed up on 7/16 and I didn't receive a phone call until 7/23 asking for payment. In his message he said that he had spoken to my folks and that they were happy with the patio and that we could pay by credit card. Well, he hadn't spoken to my folks (we were out of town from 7/18 - 7/23) and there were a couple of items that needed to be taken care of. Jack called again today (7/24) and I pointed out the discrepancies and about his failure to show up on the agreed upon day. He said that he would send someone over today. So Rudy came over (I guess they figured that he is the only one we are happy with) and immediately fixed a few issues and we provided him with what we believe the balance is. At no point did we receive a summary of what we had paid, a copy of the bill for the permit or anything in writing after the original contract was signed. To summarize, the worker, Rudy, is a treasure - he is probably the only reason Steadfast is still in business.

The project went extremely well. Steadfast was very patient with me and all of my up-front questions regarding how the construction would take place. As it was a very complex project, there were certain items that we came across during the construction that Steadfast addressed immediately and to my satisfaction. The construction crew was the same throughout the project and I was able to get thorough updates from them regarding progress, how certain tasks were to be accomplished...anything I wanted to know they were more than happy to discuss with me. From Rene and the construction crew to Pablo the electrician to Hector the gutter guy to Kenny the project manager - they were all great to work with. I ordered up 3 quotes to get an idea of what it was going to cost to build what we wanted. One bid was $9,000 higher and the other 2 - Steadfast and another company - were within $40.00 (yes - $40.00), so their prices are very competitive. I ultimately went with Steadfast for their Angie's List reviews and the fact that I seemed to hit it off better with them. I'd highly recommend Steadfast for your construction needs.

A salesman should be early for an appointment, especially with the high costs associated with building a deck. To be on time is to be late. I give everyone in the Metro DC area the benefit of the doubt and fifteen minutes, but if there is no call to let me know of the tardiness, I'll waited for ten minutes and then I'm out. Steadfast took 30 minutes of my time today, 40 minutes if you could the call I made to them and the time it took to book the appointment. I can't get that time back. If they want my business, they'll have to send a senior person and come in with a bid at a very good price.

Jack seemed very nice on the phone and did call my cell to not only set up the initial appointment but to verify someone would be there. Unfortunately no shows are part of the industry I guess. I'm just surprised they still didn't returned the call, even after leaving messages on their voicemail. Several weeks later - Still no call back.

From start to finish we had a great experience with Steadfast, and would have no hesitation in recommending them. When we decided to go ahead with this project, we had contacted 4 different companies to come out and give us some ideas on what exactly we could have. By far, Josh from Steadfast was the most helpful and even provided us with computer drawings of how the finished porch would look. Abel, who was in charge of construction did a fabulous job and even went as far as to point out a few things he wasn't happy about - details, which to be honest, my husband and I would never have noticed. He wasted no time in putting these things right, and the finished porch looks amazing. Kenny, who overseas the projects, kept us informed every step of the way and came out to make sure we were happy with everything. We have had quite a few of our neighbors commenting on how good it looks and even had one come over to ask about getting an estimate to build same on his deck. The price was not the cheapest, but by no means the most expensive and to be fair, with the attention to detail, it was well worth it. Overall a very positive experience. I would have no doubts about using them again for future projects.

Provider came to my house, took measurements of my project and told me he'd email me a quote. It's been over 3 weeks since his visit and I'm still waiting on the quote.

My wife and I were reviewing a quote from another company but were not comfortable enough with them to move forward. We reviewed the Steadfast Construction web site and Angie's List reviews and decided to get a quote. Josh from Steadfast came to our home to discuss the project. Josh was very knowledgeable about the construction process and what our project would require. I was impressed with the questions he asked about the existing deck construction ( which I built) and the fact he went outside in the rain with a flashlight to look under the deck at the existing framing. Josh explained they would need to add two additional footers and another beam to carry the roof load. To get to the final design we were unsure if we wanted 3 or 4 columns. We were also trying to decide between square or round columns. Josh showed us a number of different photos of the various styles while onsite. After he left he created drawings of each style we had discussed and emailed them to us to help visualize the final product and make our final design decision. Construction and inspections took about three week to complete. I really appreciated that the construction supplies were delivered in a "just-in-time" fashion as they were needed instead of all at once. The gentleman who performed the actual build, Nelson, is a real craftsman and a pleasure to work with. Nelson was courteous, flexible and willing to answer our questions. He kept the area clean and uncluttered so the back yard never looked like a "construction zone". Seeing the progress on the project each day after work gave me the impression I was watching fine cabinetry instead of rough framing. The end result is a beautiful outdoor space we love to spend time in with family and friends. My wife and I were very pleased with the work Steadfast performed. They communicated with us throughout the entire project. We would definitely use Steadfast again.

Everything went very smoothly from our first contact with the representative from Steadfast Construction. He spent quite a bit of time with us while we explained what we wanted and was able to give us good recommendations for materials and the size of our project. We received a proposal with in two days, we were able to make adjustments as we worked out details with him and after a week or two had a final project with three dimensional pictures of what the porch and deck would look like. The price was the most competitive of the three companies that we received bids from. The staff that worked on the project were competent and responsive to any questions we had. They arrived when they said they would be here and worked without stopping other than for a lunch break. The only difficulty we experienced was communicating at times with a worker if the supervisor was not on site. We do not speak Spanish but the workers were very courteous and tried to communicate or understand us as best they could. All were skilled and completed the work to our complete satisfaction. They were also careful to not harm our existing plants and grass areas. We had moved some plants but others could not be moved. They also were very good about cleaning the work site each evening before they left. We would not hesitate to recommend Steadfast Construction to anyone and we really appreciated the how responsive all of the staff was to any questions or concerns we had. Our neighbors have watched the project from the beginning and have commented on how attractive it is. We feel that we have something we can use and enjoy for many years.

Built solid, but seems hastily constructed. Railings not joined flush. Gaps at 45 degree angles (up to 1/2 inch) on some railings. One railing not nailed down correctly and does not lie flat. Some deck boards nailed COMPLETELY through and one is now even lifting loose. This project is only about a month old. I can provide pictures if required. Price charged was excessive for quality provided. It's unfortunate because they seem to be good people.

Gentlemen arrived on time, professional and listened to what I wanted. He made some suggestions and did provide an estimate...I received the estimate via email but it went into my SPAM somehow and never got the email. Had to request it again recently and received that one. Will reach out to them with my decision in a couple of weeks.

We have contacted others on Angie's List in the meantime.

We were looking for a design for a sunroom extention and deck addition to our house. Angie's List posted this company as one that one provide the design for $39.00 so I purchased it. It was valued at around $300.00. The company missed the first appointment, stating that the employee that was supposed to show up had to go out of town suddenly. One of the manager's called me back and apologized and and stated that he would have someone respond when it is convenient for me. He seemed very sincere and I believed him. I learned my lesson, though. We set up a date and that employee responded, provided me with a nice sales pitch and then did his measurements. He advised that it would take about ten days. I waited and waited and waited.... Almost two months later (only because I was out of town most of the time) I sent an email that I no longer wanted to work with them because I never heard back from them and did not get my designs. I received (via Angie's List email) yet another apology and that the employee resposible had been "reprimanded". I was advised that Steadfast would refund me a total of $75.00. I guess the additional 'few dollars' was for my trouble. This is the second company I have had a problem with from an Angie's List "sponsored" company. I advised Angie's List that I did not want to renew my contract with them. We'll see if this review is published. I somehow doubt it. Detective (Ret) David Swinson

It was horrible. They took my address, which was also e-mailed to them. Set up an appointment and assigned a person to come out. Then ON THE DAY of the appointment, after I had rushed back to be home, I got a call saying that I was outside their area! It was a recorded message left. To make things worse, I felt I should have gotten a PROMPT refund from Angie's List since the contractor cancelled. Oh, no! Angie's List has become the pits. I have been with them for years, but this new system they have, I've had cancellation after cancellation. AND, it's impossible to cancel Angie!

with this project.It went very well. I now have a better idea of what the finished project will look like and what it will cost. It was very helpful. At this point, I have no idea as to whether or not we will complete the project, but I was very impressed with this company and they will be at the top of my list should we decide to go ahead

They were very professional. Jack designed a beautiful deck. We get lots of compliments about it. We had some issues, which were handled well and all resolved. Would use them again and recommend them.

Working with Steadfast was a joy from start to finish. Miguel is an excellent salesman who worked with us throughout the process and answered all of our questions. Franklin and his crew built a beautiful deck and quality fence. Joel and his crew did an amazing job on the patio. It is gorgeous. Throughout the project we had a few concerns but Kenny made sure they were all addressed promptly. For example, we were not happy that we could not plug speakers into the electrical outlet the electrician put in due to the LED lights plug. When we told Kenny, he had the electrician come out that same day to fix the issue. Another example is when standing water appeared on the patio and in our driveway. Kenny and Joel discussed the problem and Joel came out and put two small drains on our property to take care of the water issue the next day. We also had an issue with the latch on the fence due to the heat. Kenny had Franklin come out that day to fix it. Great customer service and workmanship. Steadfast seriously rocks. We recommend them 100 percent and look forward to working with them on additional projects.

I certainly spent time analyzing a number of estimates and companies prior to selecting Steadfast. Among a number of estimates, they weren't necessarily the lowest in price, or highest; but, I felt much more comfortable with the salesman, the office-based crew, and ultimately during construction - the builders. Having never built a deck, my expectations were, well, not extreme. But, I must say, once the decking was in, I was shocked at the quality of the craftsmanship and attention to detail. I can't imagine the deck and fence looking any better for the price. This, to include, a team that's easy to work with.
