Workmanship was excellent and suggestions were reasonable and for the most part carried out when we agreed with them. Price was very good compared to an estimate by another company. Two young men carried out the whole construction and finished it in just one month. It is a wonderful addition to our home and we are very happy with it.

I simply can not speak highly enough about this company. I had some very specific requirements for my decking material and they were more than happy to work with me. I solicited 3 other quotes. 1 was higher, the others were slightly lower. However, all of the others wanted me to use Trex or one of their "preferred" materials and would not budge. I wanted what I wanted and Steadfast was more than happy to work with me. From the moment I started the quoting process to the finish of the project, the entire Steadfast team was there to answer my questions and provide stellar service. Miguel came to my home, talked about the different products they offered, took measurements and told me he'd email me with a quote in a day or 2. Two days later he had the quote emailed to me along with a digital rendering of what the finished deck would look like. We loved it. I emailed back and forth to get more detail and Miguel answered each email quickly and courteously without pressure. Since we were requesting a specialized product, Miguel didn't have samples, but happily ordered them and had them delivered to our home so we could make our color choices. Once we made our choices and made the initial deposit, they scheduled the job. The management team called me a few days ahead of time to let me know they were all set to start. The carpenter, Skip, showed up when he was supposed to and got started. Skip worked relentlessly on getting the foundation dug. It's a new home, so finding undisturbed soil for the foundation was a lot more work for him, but he never complained once. The weather was pretty crappy (it was December/January), and he had to dig out the holes more than once before scheduling an inspection. Again, never a complaint. As the framing started to go in, Skip kept me posted on everything that was happening along the way. If there were issues that cropped up (and they did), he explained everything in detail and gave me a few options to resolve them. I did end up needing a couple of extra stairs, but Skip did the labor for free and the company provided the materials to me for the price they paid, which I thought was just awesome. Skip called in all of the inspections, met the inspectors and passed everything on the first try. Steadfast handled all of the permitting. The only thing I did was get approval from my HOA, which they would have done, but I had already taken care of it before even soliciting quotes. Skip was out there working on the deck until 8 or 9pm some nights to get it done in a timely manner. After the final inspection, Skip cleaned up all the debris and left our home as clean as he found it. It did take more time to get the deck done than they had estimated, but this type of work is weather dependent and we had a pretty rainy December here in VA. My main concern was that the deck get done correctly. And to that end, Skip, Miguel and the Steadfast team delivered. These guys do seriously good work and I am confident it will last a lifetime. Definitely ask for Skip if you want your deck done right the first time. I can not thank them enough for a job well done. Now I'm excited for spring to get here so I can start enjoying our investment.

It was fine. It was not what we thought it would be. They took a long time to come out. Then it took them a long time to follow up. The drawing that they submitted was not impressive. It's something that I could have done myself. That didn't add much value. In the long run it was impressive for me because the guy that came out and told me about the building codes. He knew that we would not be able to build a screened in room, because the supports were out dated. That was all that I got out of it. I had a hard time getting them to respond when I wanted to find out about it. I end up going back through Angie's List to prompt them to move a little bit. I think that they could do good work. I think they got overwhelmed because of the special. It would be nice to have some consistency. I think if it had been a full rebuild they would have been all over it.

He came out and drew a design. After talking with him we decided to go a different way. We went with his recommendation. He was very honest and helpful.

After interviewing several contractors, we selected Steadfast. Mike was key to our choice, he was very responsive to our questions, and helped,us refine our design. Franklin and his team (the carpenters) did a fantastic job on the deck refurbishment and expansion. Franklin is very professional, polite and considerate. Franklin's team kept the work site clean. We asked Franklin to make several minor adjustments to the design, he accomadated the changes without any push back. Joel and his sons did a great job on the patio, very professional and polite. The work was done quickly and appears to be solid quality. The team leveled the ground surrounding the patio, topped with fresh soil, including straw to keep the soil from eroding. I would recommend both Joel and Franklin. Communication will the office was a challenge. Contruction was to start in early November, several days before the planned start date, we still had not heard from Steadfast. After several phone calls, they finally informed us they would be two weeks late. Coming up on two weeks, we again did not hear from Steadfast. Again we needed to call to determine the start date. The late start was not an issue, the lack of communication for the office was not professional. Mike did what he could to keep us informed. We would welcome Franklin and Joel to work any future projects we may have. I would recommend Steadfast, however I would outline a firm timeline, with procedures for communications.

Josh was pleasant, on time and professional. He promised the design on Monday (4 days later) but got them to me the next day. He did it from several different views and they were great. Haven't decided yet whether to use them but their on my short list. I asked another contractor if they did something similar and they said they could but it would be cost significantly more that Steadfast charged.

My original Angie's List review for Steadfast on the scheduling for re-staining the deck was an F. That was because we had left 2 voicemail messages and 5 months later had heard nothing. However, once my original review was posted, Steadfast's General Manager, Jack Prins, immediately contacted me with sincere apologies and explained the miscommunication and misunderstanding on their part. Jack explained that they no longer stain decks, and that the individual who heard the voicemails thought we left them in error. However, the professional organization that Steadfast is, they connected us with a company who does staining. Because Steadfast did the connection, I am re-doing my review. I have since removed the original F review, because Steadfast worked hard to correct the problem and, I know from past experience, will take the steps to correct communication problems within their company. Steadfast does incredible work. We have received countless compliments on our deck and we have passed Steadfast's name on to many individuals.

Pleasure to deal with professionals. Prompt for estimate appointment. Work started amd completed on time. My highest recommendation

First and foremost, it was a pleasure dealing with someone as responsive, forthright, and professional as Miguel Nogales. His quotes were thorough and easily interpreted. He used no high-pressure tactics and correctly interpreted our requirements. His use of an IPad to display options was fantastic. We awarded the contract to another Angie's list highly regarded contractor solely because their quote for the configuration we finally chose was less (Miguel's quotes for the other two configuarations were lower though and we would have hired Steadfast if we had decided to go with either of these two configurations.) I will offer a review of the other contractor once the screened porch/deck is completed. I am very pleased with the information I find in Angie's List when seeking contractors. If you plan on building a deck or porch, you should certainly seek a quote from Steadfast.

The tech was extremely knowledgeable and was very good at troubleshooting. The electronic thermostat ended up being the issue and the tech spent a lot of time making sure that was the issue. I am a hard person to impress when it comes to services and I rarely write a review but this was exceptional service and they deserve a great review.

Mike Shepherd was my sale person, and he has stuck with me throughout the entire process, making sure that Steadfast delivered a great product. Mike is the best and Steadfast is lucky to have him -- easy to work with and always looked out for my interests in terms of design and price. Any construction project is tough, and mine was particularly complex -- involving carpentry, electric, plumbing, and masonry. Steadfast began mid August, and finished early September. Franklin's carpentry work was A+ and Joel's masonry looks beautiful -- lots of attention to detail and the color and placement of stone. The fire pit was problematic, particularly given that they were building in marine clay and drainage was an issue. We pulled all of the various craftsmen together to solve the issues with the fire pit, and Pablo, the electrician, came up with the solution that worked. I have had some residual issues with the deck lighting and Steadfast has now diagnosed the problem and is working to get it fixed properly. While we had some bumps along the way, the final product is lovely and the neighbors are still coming by to see the new addition to my home.

Craftsmanship, pure craftsmanship. In my short homeowner experience, Steadfast Construction (Kenny [owner], Mike [sales/estimates] and Nelson [construction]) are true construction professionals. These guys did not miss a beat with the cost, recommendations, and quality workmanship that you dream about. In the year we've lived in our home, we noticed that the front porch had serious flaws that the previous owners maintenance team covered up. Tons of rotten wood planks, rotten rails and rotten posts. Joists with gaps in the joints. Columns not supported with beams. Mike came out and provided me with a reasonable quote and left with the explanation that the price might change when once the porch was demo'd. Mike allowed my sons and I to do the demo and paint, to save us money, and his crew manhours. This allowed for some father son time and time to teach my kids how do use power tools, hammers, and take things apart. Mike, Kenny, and Nelson were very easy to work with when under contract. Something you do not see very often. Another thing not seen very often is the same crew on site everyday. It was awesome to see Nelson show up every morning and stay there everyday. As for the craftsman ship...every corner is perfectly lined up with my house. The hand railing is curved to fit against the column. Every joist hanger is secured with wood touching the joist (my previous joists were held up by nails with up to 1/2" gap). Nelson worked effortlessly to ensure the steps (rise and run) blended with the slope of the concrete walkway. Words really do not describe the craftsmanship put into this porch. You need to see it to believe it. My neighbors have stopped by to see and comment on the work done. Recommend Steadfast...without a doubt. When you need your porch or deck remodeled use Kenny, Mike and Nelson and trust the job will be done correct the first time.

We contracted Steadfast to replace our existing deck, privacy fence and fix some woodrot on the side of our house. During the design phase they provided a series of professional mockups which gave us a clear idea of what to expect with our new deck. Following a slight delay in the initiation of construction, the Steadfast team quickly tore down our existing deck and fence and put up a new one in a mere three days. We really love it so far - the new size and feel beneath our feet is light years better than our prior one. Our friends and neighbors are all impressed as well. With competitive pricing and great service, we would recommend Steadfast for anyone interested in a new deck

Miguel at Steadfast Construction was excellent. We collected three bids for a deck and based on the timeliness of his estimate and services Steadfast offered, plus their price, we decided to contract with them. While we paid a deposit for the deck, due to unforseen circumstances we had to cancel the job. We received a timely refund and when the time is right, will no doubt return to Steadfast and contract with them to build our deck.

From the beginning, the Steadfast salesperson was professional and appeared competent. He explained the advantages and disadvantages of all of the available options, and helped us select the best one for us. The estimate for construction was reasonable, and the work was scheduled for several months in the future. We signed a contract, and the salesman emphasized that the date was approximate, not exact. On the scheduled date, we called Steadfast, and they said that they would have a crew out the next day. The next day a large load of lumber and concrete appeared, and workmen appeared to dig footings. The county inspector came, and as soon as the footings passed inspection, the crew started to dig the bed for the concrete that we wanted under the deck. They finished that work, it passed inspection, but unfortunately we had several days of pouring rain, so the concrete could not be poured. The communication from Steadfast was excellent, and the next clear day, a subcontracted crew appeared and poured the concrete. After that, the job went smoothly. Two days later, we had a beautiful deck. The county inspector commented on the finished deck's high quality. It was a great job, with fewer hiccups than we expected. There was one change order, because we decided that we wanted more lighting, and that went smoothly too, with a price that we found quite reasonable. We found Steadfast to be a good company to work with, with high quality and good communications. Recommended.

This was a long process as I needed to get the design approved by my HOA. Following approval I worked with Nkosi Brown and Kenny to figure out which color scheme and railing system to use. After all that was done, they sent out an incredible crew that worked all weekend long demolishing my old deck, replacing or reinforcing the deck supports, replacing it with composite material, putting up a cable railing system. They even worked to replace a couple pieces of trim that were displaced by the old deck. Even better, they sanded the top rail and painted it with matching color to my house trim! The excellence is in the details! My new deck looks better than I had imagined.

In the end of May, I had Steadfast come out to give me an estimate to have my old splintery wood deck replaced with Trex decking. Miguel came out and spent a long time talking to me about what I wanted and showed me lots of pictures. I was deciding between a deck or patio at that time. I decided to go ahead with the deck and signed the contract. They sent me some nice computer renditions of what the deck would look like. I changed my mind on the color of the decking and they easily accommodated that. A long period of silence followed as I waited for my start date ... about 6 weeks out. When I hadn't heard from them by my estimated start date, I called them. It seems my file was perhaps lost in a shuffle but it was quickly found. When they were ready to start construction, I was going away on vacation so we decided to start once I got back. Weather delays, unexpectedly longer jobs ahead of mine, etc. added a few more days but I feel that's par for the course when doing an outside construction job. Once the job was started, my deck was completed very quickly. The site was left clean -- no complaints at all. My beautiful new deck is flawless and I get a huge smile on my face whenever I look at it. It's gorgeous! Beautiful work, Steadfast!

There were a few bumps along the way with schedules. But the wait was worth it. I have a high quality built garage that neighbors and friends rave about. I will look to do work the Steadfast again.

We were very satisfied with the workers, the price and the finished porch. We recommend Steadfast.

Had three quotes from three different companies all from Angie's List. I chose Steadfast because their price was slightly better than the other two companies and their salesperson (Josh) did a thorough job of working with me on figuring out what I really wanted. Steadfast provided several iterations of drawings and we went back and forth several time to ensure that we were 100% on the same page regarding the project and how it would blend with my existing backyard and hardscape. There was a slight delay in the start date but I thought they did a good job of working with me on the dates, considering it was raining and weather was impacting crew's ability to work. Steadfast even worked their schedule around my other contractors who I had working on some siding and electrical projects. Communicating was very solid. When it comes to the actual quality of the work, I was very very satisfied. I give them an A. We had small issues at first with some cosmetic blending of my hardscape and the stairs, but Kenny and Manuel did a pro job and make it look great. I had a rather extensive hardscape situation and they made it all look amazing. In summary, Steadfast is a solid choice. I did the homework and was very happy with these guys. Most importantly, they will work with you openly and work hard to keep you satisfied. I recommend Steadfast. My porch looks awesome. -Anthony

The lead time of four months between our signing a contract for a sunroom addition and starting construction was longer than we had expected. But once the work started, everything went smoothly, and the room (300 sq. ft.) was finished within a month. In the process, we asked for a few adjustments to the original specifications re. fixtures, etc. and Steadfast was agreeable about making them. Overall, the management and crew stayed on top of things, and I always felt they wanted us to be satisfied with the pace and the quality of the work. The cost was also lower than bids we received from several companies for comparable sunrooms. We are quite happy with Steadfast, and would recommend them.

We are awaiting two more estimates since the one we received is higher than expected. In general, we are favorably impressed with Steadfast and confident in their ability to do the job.

We had an overall great experience with Steadfast. We had a 2 level deck that we wanted the lower level converted into a screened in porch and an existing large window removed and a sliding glass door installed. Miguel came out and gave us an estimate. It wasn't the cheapest nor was it the most expensive. It took longer than we would have liked (2 weeks) before we got the written estimate, but when we did, it was well done and included computer graphic of what the finished project would look like. We decided to go with Steadfast because of all the stellar reviews it had on Angie's list and I liked Miguel's manner. Plus, the business is established and had good ties to the community. The project was supposed to start in 5-6 weeks. It ended up being 10 before it actually began, but in their defense, it was the end of April when Miguel made his initial visit and I can only imagine that is their busiest time of year. We had a couple of issues with calls not being returned during the 10 week time between the initial visit and the start of the project, but once the project began, they were responsive and efficient. Gary and James were the 2 men that worked on our project. They were professional, respectful and their work was done well. It took a total of 10 days from start to finish. Their carpentry was great. We needed the existing deck extended and several more beams added, plus some of the railing was damaged and needed replacement. We wanted separate frames for each screen, so that when one is damaged it could easily be replaced. All professionally done. Adding the sliding glass door was a bit of a project and required them to cut through our brick exterior to create a bigger hole They built a vacuum tent in the interior of our home to keep the brick dust from getting everywhere and the finished door was installed perfectly. Once they were finished it looked as if it had always been there. They installed Dry Snap. A prefab system that is installed under the existing top deck to create a ceiling and gutter system for the lower porch. The online reviews for the system were not great and my take on them was that if not installed correctly, the system will have lots of problems. I was worried. 2 days after the installation, we had a monster thunderstorm and there was a leak (a small leak for the amount and of rain we had and the power of the storm) The leak was where the system and the brick meet. From my understanding and from what the Dry Snap says about their system is that it's water proof under normal raining conditions. This storm was a doosy! But Gary and James came back out immediately and resealed it and we haven't had a issue since. There was also a small issue that came up after the project was finished and paid for. The handle of the screened door wasn't opening and locking correctly and Gary came out with in two days and fixed the it. The only reason I did not give them a perfect rating is because of the delay in the project time and the few calls not returned before the projects start. Which in the grand scheme of things ended up being no big deal but was annoying at the time. It has only been 2 months since the completion of the project, so I cannot speak about the long term quality of the work but as of now we are extremely happy with our new porch and Steadfast and I do not expect that to change; however I will update my review in a few years to let you know how everything has held up.

Jack was excellent with the scheduling of the appointment. Nick was punctual for our scheduled appointed. He did an excellent job explaining the work that would be done. He also pointed out the specifics of Steadfast's quality work which differentiates them from all others. I received the estimate in a timely manner. To date they have answer all of my questions and have allowed me the opportunity to review the estimate without the feeling of being pressured to make a decision. I will definitely do business with this company again in the very near future.

The preliminary design meetings and help with HOA app were good, but once construction started, things took a turn for the worse. The crews would show up not having been briefed on what work was supposed to be done and changes that had been made to the contract. The foreman never came to our house to monitor the job once. Communication was horrible. I would not recommend.
