We are very pleased with entire process of our deck project. From the very beginning everything went very smoothly. Miguel showed up on time for our initial consultation and was very knowledgeable about all the composite products and options and was patient in his explanations. He helped us choose the right product for our project and budget. Romy was the lead builder and his craftsmanship and attention to detail were fantastic. Kenny visited the job site on multiple occasions and made sure we were happy with the project progress and final result. Every night the project site was cleaned and all material pieces were picked up. The final clean up was very detailed and well done. Overall, we could not be more pleased.

Jeff from Steadfast came out and did a drawing for the deck, and then worked with me several times to do revisions for different options to get a good price and do the least amount of work for the biggest value. i was very happy with what he was willing to do. What I wasn't as happy about was the price... I think coming from the midwest I am a little shocked at the prices in this area. The entire job came out around $11,000 and because the neighbors already have fences on our side yards, the estimate did not include these sides, nor the removal of our existing chain link fence. I know Jeff and Steadfast were trying to help us save money, but these were necessary items and would have ballooned our cost up even more. That said, I would come back to them again and discuss some other options, however we have a limited budget and I am not sure that our budget is realistic for the work we need.

I ordered the Angie's List Consultation and Drawings Big Deal. Miguel came to our home, took measurements, and returned the drawings promptly. I had numerous questions for Miguel and he was most helpful and thoughtful answering them via email. We went with a poured concrete floor, instead of deck material, for the screened porch, building with the idea of possible future conversion to an addition. The project involved removing our old patio pavers, digging very deep footings, concrete pour, carpentry, roofing, skylights, gutters, adding electrical, ceiling fan, and lights. The work is done WELL. Rudy, our builder, is an extremely hard worker with an eye towards high quality, detail, and durability. He did a masterful job building our porch. GO RUDY! City inspections and permitting went very well. This June was the rainiest in the past 40 years. Undoubtedly, this created major rain delays and project delays for contractors throughout the region, including Steadfast. Communicating the bad news, delays, adjustments, would be the constructive feedback I would provide Steadfast. Bad news is not fine wine and does not get better with age--let clients know promptly and with a pessimistic timeline scenario and they would be OK with it. Kenny, the owner, contacted us and came to our home to ensure we were satisfied. We could not be more pleased with our porch. It has added such wonderful, beautiful, space to our home. Our neighbors have stopped by and their feedback is universally positive.

We have nothing but good things to say about Steadfast and their work. Josh was very patient with us in the design phase (we are a little picky) and also during the process of getting our permit. All along the way, he was always very willing to explain every little detail we asked about in the plans and the design. Manuel and the team that built our deck were very professional, punctual, and did an excellent job. Even the inspectors told us that the guys were doing a great job. We made a change or two from the original plans and everyone at Steadfast including the management worked with us every step of the way. The quality of their work is superb. We are very pleased and enjoying every bit of our new outdoor space. We would highly recommend them.

I'm sitting on the porch writing this review...it has exceeded my expectations! From the first visit with Josh who did the estimate through to the final staining of the floor everything went like clockwork. These guys have the process down. They did architectural drawings to show Reston Association to get me through the approval process. Once they started construction, Franklin and his crew got the job done in 3 and a half days! And even though they were fast the work was high quality. I'm very happy with the porch...I can now enjoy the outdoors without the bugs!

We had a great experience with Miguel, he came to our home to give an estimate and provide drawings for a deck. He was great to work with, responsive and open to changes when we had them. We have decided to put the deck project on hold until next year but will be in touch with Steadfast when we are ready to move forward.

I didn't like what I got. I basically got a kid come and estimate and it was not worth $50. That wasn't worth the money. The estimate was very confusing. The estimate was never right. I got three different estimates and the estimates never came out. I never got a solid estimate for what I told them I wanted. I could never understand the estimate and it was worthless. I didn't do anything with it. They told me it was $42000 to build a deck and $30000 and we could never come to an agreement. You know let me tell you what I want and you tell me what it would cost me to do that. After I purchased the deal I called them and they came out quickly I told them what I wanted and he told me some things. I got the estimate back pretty quickly but it was not a complete job it was an haphazard shot on an estimate. When I put $42000 on a deck for that kind of money I want a detailed estimate. For what I got it was not worth $49. What I paid for was for the estimate. Regardless of what I got the estimate for the process wasn't good. I would possibly use them in the future because they are a big company for decks but we would have to start over with a different understanding.

Everything from the estimate, to the scheduling, to the construction of both the porch and patio was handled professionally and done on time and within budget. They were very responsive to us and kept us informed of the schedule. Both the deck and the patio look great and we are excited to have a more usable outside space this summer.

This is the second addition that Steadfast has completed for us. We used them to build a screened porch at our previous residence and they did an job. After we moved, building a new screened porch was high on our priority list so we went right back to Steadfast. This time we went a little bigger and added a fireplace. As always very impressed by Steadfast management and workers. They are quick to handle any issues and generally just good to work with. I've had a couple things pop up since completion as happens with all large projects, and they quickly sent folks out to fix them months after finalizing the project.

We contacted Steadfast in March 2015 after reading their reviews on Angie's List. We needed to have the top "floor" of our deck replaced after 28 years. Mr. Miguel Nogales came out promptly. We discussed extending the deck by about 5 feet. This entailed installing new support posts and framing. Fortunately, the original posts and lower deck did not need to be replaced. We decided to continue using treated lumber. Mr. Nogales gave us an estimate within two days; we looked at our schedules and determined that a 5 week window in June would work. We were a little concerned when the project started six days after our initially hoped for date. However, the crew was very expeditious and completed the work in only seven rather hot days. The crew moved the furniture off the deck and arranged with a plumber to disconnect our gas grill. (We had an extra charge for the plumber's work.) They then proceeded to remove the old decking and rebuild the new deck with the extension. We did need to watch their progress and identified a few items which we needed (pickets not down to the deck floor so we could easily brush leaves over the edge, for example.) Trash was hauled away. We were not surprised that they damaged several screens on the adjacent gazebo while hauling lumber around. They pointed out and replaced the screens. Technically, the top step of one staircase is slightly higher than the rest, but otherwise the stairs are fine. The pickets are now close enough to be at code and the main stair has a banister. Once the deck work was completed, the furniture was returned to the upper deck. The plumber returned to reconnect and test the gas grill. We paid the initial deposit per their schedule. The "demolition" which precipitated the second payment was not clearly obvious as the crew was demolishing and rebuilding somewhat simultaneously. We paid the balance when everything was complete. There were no arguments about these items or payments, but, per usual, the customer does have to watch the contractor and be both fair and careful. We really enjoy the new look and the extension. We would use Steadfast again if we needed such a project.

Overall, Steadfast Construction greatly exceeded our expectations! Josh (sales) was terrific to work with; friendly, customer service oriented, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive in assisting us with the design and options of our porch/open-deck, as well as facilitating the HOA and city permit application process - the latter Steadfast handles. Jack and Kenny (Steadfast Management) were very flexible with various aspects of pricing and moreover, patient and professional with respect to minor ad-hoc changes we made and questions we had along the way. Matt, our principal carpenter for the duration of the project was simply the "Michelangelo of Carpentry." His technical skill with respect to all aspects of construction (framing, roofing, decking, stairs, ceiling, screen/windows, etc.) was absolutely astonishing. What really made Matt's work so special was his humble, yet professional attitude. For example, Matt has been doing this type of work for more than two decades and he is still building these structures as if they were meant for his own home. It is very, very difficult to find that level of precision trade-craft and sense of pride in one's own work nowadays. Mike, the lead electrician, installed all electrical wiring, ceiling fan w/wall remote, recessed lights, and A/C outlets to meet our dedicated electrical amperage requirements without issue. Lastly, Wilson and his paint crew did a wonderful job staining our ceiling and Pine tongue and groove hardwood porch flooring. As a retired military officer/couple, my wife and I can say without any reservation that you may pay a small premium for hiring Steadfast Construction (out of Vienna, Va) over one of their competitors, but you'll be mighty glad you did so in the long run! Mr. Jack Prin - congratulations to you and your competent team on a job extremely well done. We absolutely love our beautiful screened-in porch and open-deck and our family will surely enjoy it for many years to come!

The workers were wonderful -- showed up in all sorts of frigid weather. I love the porch. I did not like that the wood had marks on it that showed where it had been "banded." I was told this would be erased with power washing, but it was not. Overall a good experience.

I had an existing large deck that was useless. It was a lot of walkway, but very little area to spread out and sit, entertain, whatever. So, I knew I wanted more square footage (and less traverse), as well as a reworking of some of the steps. Those were pretty much my priorities, but I really had no idea to translate those ideas into a tangible plan -- and I wanted to do this without the expense and hassle of tearing out all of the existing deck. I had a couple meetings at my home with Mike and Jack, and very quickly they were able to conceptualize what I wanted and develop a design/plan -- of which I was very happy with. Because I live on a lake, we had RPA issues, as well as HOA and permit delays, so it took several months to get everything approved, but Jack stuck with it and we got the green light. Throughout construction, I worked with the crew to make sure we all were on the same page, and as things came to life, we could make changes as needed to better meet the overall goals of the project. Now we have an impressive, beautiful, functional deck with lots of our neighbors asking who did the fantastic work. The crew leader Able was very skilled at his craft, so the quality is top-notch, and we feel like we got a great deal on the cost. Very happy with the result and will recommend them.

We've renovated our house extensively over the last 2 years, and consequently, have dealt with many different construction companies. Out of all those companies, Steadfast construction was one of the best by far, and were professional from start to finish. Nick started the process by coming out to the house, and discussing different options with us based on our scope of work. He showed up on time, was extremely friendly, took numerous measurements, and didn't rush us through the process. He provided us with a full proposal within 2 days, which we signed shortly after making a few minor revisions. Steadfast began the work (as scheduled) about 6 weeks later. The day before they started the work, Renee and Cesar reviewed the project scope again in detail with us to ensure they fully understood what we envisioned for the two projects. Materials arrived as scheduled the next day, and Cesar began work on the back landing. He worked incredibly hard each day, including working through the weekend to complete the job. A journeyman also reviewed Cesar's work periodically, adding an additional layer of quality control. To our surprise, the journeyman asked Cesar to remove and redo a section of the railing that to us, appeared flawless. This attention to detail speaks volumes about Steadfast and their dedication to doing quality work. It is also very different from our past experience, where we had to hand hold carpentry contractors and continually micromanage them until the very end. At the completion of the project, they cleaned up the entire site and our new stairs/railings were ready to be used. We have since gotten numerous complements, even from other individuals in the construction industry. Needless to say, we are very happy with our experience and will use them again for future projects.

We selected Steadfast Construction to build a screened gazebo on an existing deck after vetting them and other contractors. Our experience with Steadfast was outstanding from beginning to end! It was a pleasure to work with a company that maintains professionalism and values customer service at all phases of the project. We began with Josh, who provided our estimate. He arrived promptly and was very attentive to our desired goal. We must commend Josh on his patience and excellent responsiveness, as we informed him of a recent bad experience with another contractor and wanted to ensure that would not be the case here. Josh said that we would find that Steadfast values its customers and assured us that would be our experience should we select them. He was true to his word. We were impressed with Steadfast's responsiveness throughout the project--from contract negotiations to finished product. Renee and his team were the best. They arrived on time each day and worked long and hard in 90+ degree days to complete the gazebo in a timely manner. This was affirmed by the County Inspector, who came out for the initial roof inspection as scheduled and was able to issue final approval at the same time because the project was completed quickly by the extraordinary efforts of Renee and his team. As the project progressed, any questions we may have had were handled by Renee and team before we could even ask. They were polite and respectful of us and our property. Renee and his team took pride in their workmanship, as did the electrician. Their attention to detail was excellent and in the end, we have a beautiful gazebo that we love and expect to enjoy for years to come. The only thing remaining to be done is to paint and stain the ceiling, which we understood would be a little later after the pressure treated wood has seasoned. Steadfast has already had the painter come out with samples and he is ready to begin when the wood is ready. Kenny and Josh stayed in contact with us throughout the project just to ensure things were progressing as we expected and to address any questions we may have. We were very impressed with Steadfast and are already considering them for another future project. We would definitely recommend Steadfast to others.

I was very pleased with the deck design, however the cost of the deck was more than I expected to spend. I contacted another Deck builder (less expensive) on Angie's list and he improved upon the design and built a fantastic deck.

Rep was great at working through options with us so we could have the project we wanted at the right price. We went with a composite deck (pressure-treated wood plus Trex on the horizontal surfaces). Steadfast reworked plans as need to conform to zoning laws. Work took place largely during the very cold winter we had, but the team was reliable and professional. (Shout-out to foremane Manuel). Kenny, the owner, was great at returning calls and responding to all questions and concerns. We LOVE our new outdoor space.

The consultation went smoothly. However, 3 weeks past and I never received an estimate. I called them about three times asking why I haven't received an estimate and when I should expect to receive one. I just got off the phone with a guy named Jack who said he receives so many emails that he couldn't find my written estimate so we would need to start from scratch. I did not want to have to wait another week or maybe even another 3 weeks to try to get another estimate so I told Jack everything he needed to know so he could give me an estimate over the phone. My deck is 14x16 and with Trex flooring, rails, treads and vinyl rails w/aluminum pickets - he gave me a quick ball park estimate of $12,500. I appreciate that he gave me a quick estimate over the phone but I am very annoyed that it took me 3 weeks to get it. He claims they are #1 deck company but I am having a hard time believing it. They probably provide quality work based on the reviews I've read here but their customer service is really terrible. I would've been willing to hire them if it hadn't taken almost a month to get an estimate and if I hadn't wasted my time in calling them numerous times to get it.

Overall, it was a great experience. The design representative came to our house to go over our desires. He walked us through the various options and showed us pictures of other jobs Steadfast had completed. The winter weather threw a curveball into the scheduling, but as soon as the weather allowed, they got to work. Once work commenced, the deck went up fast. We are 100% satisfied with the final product. We paid a little more than we were hoping, but the new deck speaks for itself. It is sharp and we love it!

Old walkway had sunk and retaining wall was crumbling. Steadfast with Mason Quality Construction did an outstanding reconstruction job, starting with removing the old wall, walkway and shrubs. The crew dug out soil to below ground level and reconstructed area starting with a cement base. Built on base with block, cement and rock then capping the project with flagstone. They were fine and efficient. It was a good experience and one person came out.

Bought the coupon for $69.99 and got it scheduled with Jeff for the next day. After paying $69.99 all we received was a hand drawn drawing on a paper very similar to my design (that we had shared with Jeff on his visit) along with an estimate (with break down of price). We did not get a CAD or 3D design. Jeff was definitely very patient and answered all our questions but the money we had spent was a waste.We had other builders who came after that for a free estimate and provided us free CAD, 3D drawing and alternate drawings of the deck for our price range. Update 4/27 Thanks for following up and giving us a full reimbursement.

They did a pretty good job. We worked out what we wanted and they gave us plans and pretty much followed them. The price was basically what was agreed upon. We were generally favorable with their work. They pretty much followed with the time-frame except they were probably a little slow in ordering some doors that delayed somewhat.

My main like was they did really fantastic, their work product is really top notch. Main dislike that sometimes it was hard to get a hold of the construction supervisor, without scheduling. The end product was real top notch.

Josh and Kenny were great to work with. Josh came out and went over all the options for me, then provided me with a detailed drawing and estimate. He was very helpful in showing me where I could save money and where it made sense to upgrade. After we signed the contract, I had an unexpected issue come up and needed to delay the project. They were very accommodating on timing. Once the job started, all went very smoothly. Kenny and the crew were excellent to work with. The crew got the project done in about two weeks, despite snow and extreme cold weather. They kept the site neat and cleaned up well afterward. I liked the subcontractors they used for electrical and gutters so much that I hired them separately to do other repair work on the house. I'm very pleased with the finished project and would definitely recommend Steadfast! It was by far the most pleasant and least disruptive major project I've had done.
