These guys are amazing! I came from a military family and everyone has moved MANY times and these guys are the best I have seen. I used them for moving two households and a storage unit into one home in 2014 and they did it in one day with only 2 guys! They pad/pack everything perfectly. I recommend them to a friend who used them for her move in DC a couple months later and she loved them. I am now moving yet again and got estimates from some of the bigger companies but in the end you can't beat the price or level of service that Arko provides so I am hiring them again this November for my full move. I am a research nut and particular about my fragile collectibles that I have gathered from around the world and I know that with arko everything will arrive at my new home safe and sound. They are the best!

Wow, these guys are amazing. Helped both me and my wife move from our Condos to our new house. Mine was especially challenging and long day, of moving things through a freight elevator. The crew worked into the night, but made sure everything was moved and set correctly. They are very careful, efficient, and professional.

My only issue was that there was a $50 fee for moving things into and out of a third floor. I didn't really mind paying the fee, I just would have preferred to know about it before I paid through Angie's List (before the fee was applied). I ended up paying an extra $70 in cash because of the fee and some rolls of tape that they used. I was also a little surprised at the cost of packaging materials for a flat screen TV. It would have cost me another $70 to have them move my TV, so I ended up just moving it myself on the weekend. Other than that minor inconvenience, the move went really well and there was only minor damage to one piece that I was honestly expecting to sustain more. Next time I move, I might use them again and see how they handle some more fragile things. I ended up moving almost all of my fragile things myself after the bigger furniture was taken care of by the movers. Bottom line: The movers were quick, efficient, and quality. I think the price was right for the services, and they were very helpful and courteous. They even finished about an hour early.

The move happened on time but ran slightly over (not their fault). They knew what they were doing and were even familiar with the move-in procedures at the new place because they had done moving jobs there in the past. We got better than our money's worth and were grateful for a relatively uneventful, efficient moving day under their direction.

Went very well. Arthur (owner) called day of service to let me know they were running late, and that he personally would be assisting with the move. Upon arrival, they immediately got to work, and finished up with time to spare. Great job. Would use them again.

I've worked with ARKO previously for 2 local moves. Initially I chose them because of their competitive rate/coupon and availability. However, I quickly realized with the first move that they are really excellent at what they do: very hardworking, professional, efficient and experienced. On top of that, they are very honest. They did not play around with the time or suggest unnecessary packing materials to try to squeeze out more money out of job. However, with the move from VA to NV, I wanted to call around and get quotes from long-distance movers. Although I've personally been very satisfied with ARKO's local move service, I was unsure how they would do for long-distance moves since there weren't many reviews for long-distance jobs. I am spending the time now to write a lengthy review because I want to let everyone know that ARKO is just as awesome for long-distance moves!!! They need to be recognized for being one of the few good guys in the moving services industry. I literally spent a total of over 20 hours talking/yelling with numerous long-distance movers before deciding on ARKO. Since I have never undergone a cross-country move, I was naive to the ugly side of the moving industry. I have since learned that people lie, push, use aggressive sales tactics, use shady low-balling tactics, and other disheartening things that I won't detail. So the scenario is this: I am moving my family's worldly possession (from furniture sets to piano to 100 boxes of books to several very heavy exercise equipment to decades' worth of pack rat things) during the busiest moving season of the year. I'm stressed beyond imagination dealing with all the lies from the other moving companies and trying to get over $7K of deposits refunded back. I'm trying to pack everything to save on the cost of packing service. Of course, there are my family and full-time job to take care of. I'm doing all this solo since my husband had already left for NV to start his job. In walks ARKO to save me from the insanity. Arthur calmly tells me the pitfalls of going with a moving service that charges by weight. By now, I've heard it all from all the other moving companies and I listen to Arthur with some skepticism. He and his business partner took a quick 15-min survey of my house to assess the size of the move, contrary to the lengthy time the other in-home estimators spent with their electronic inventory calculator. I told Arthur that I needed the truck to arrive at the destination after a certain date to coordinate with my flight arrival date. Unlike the other companies that couldn't guarantee a specific date (they were only able to give me a window of 7 to 21 days!), Arthur said that he will guarantee that the truck will arrive in NV on 8/20/2015! My stuff was going to be in dedicated truck, not mixed in with other family's stuff; unlike what the other moving companies would do. ARKO requested 50% of the payment on the day of the loading and the other 50% of the day of unloading (unlike other companies I had to deal who were charging 30% deposits just to schedule me in.) On the day of the move, the truck was sitting on my driveway. It looked awfully small for all the things that needed to be loaded. I had not completely packed, by the way. I just ran out of time. Even though I had initially told Arthur that I would do all the packing and that I would have everything ready for move day, Arthur didn't get upset to see so much that didn't get packed. Arthur told me not to stress and that it was going to be fine. His team would help pack. Most companies would be upset that their time estimate would be thrown off with unexpected packing that needed to be done. I was expecting to pay a lot for the packing help but there was no charge. Arthur told me upfront that if he needed to charge for any moving supplies he would tell me first so that I would know of any additional costs. It turned out that there was minimal packing supplies charge- considering all the things that I couldn't pack by the time of the move. They carefully dissembled the furniture and wrapped up all the furniture with thick padded wrap and shrink wrap. You can definitely see the experience in the way everything was wrapped and handled. I had huge wall mirrors, clocks and picture frames that I just couldn't pack - ARKO took care of them all. The team worked extremely hard and carefully. The house was not scratched up in the process. From the start of day to the end of the day, the entire team worked with diligence and a great professional attitude. Even to this day, I am amazed by how they managed to load all my things into a truck that appeared so small. Arthur and Nick's 15-min in-home assessment was spot-on. Everything that I told them that I wanted to take was loaded into the truck in the most masterful Tetris-style manner; there was no wasted space - which meant no unnecessary moving cost. Just as Arthur guaranteed, the truck arrived the morning after our flight into NV. Arthur and his team arrived on time to start unloading. They are the most pleasant people to work with. No matter how hot the day was or how heavy the items were, they were so accommodating. They asked where everything needed to go and carefully unwrapped and placed in the correct spot. They are so skillful in maneuvering the bulky items without causing any damage to the house. They didn't refuse one bit for any move request - even when I requested to have the heavy exercise equipment to the second floor. Wow! - sums up how everything went with the move. I know that I missed some other great things to write about. ARKO was able to accomplish a move with the date guarantees and the exceptional service that I had wanted during the year's busiest moving season. Compared to all the crazy moving date windows, truck setups, and costing models that the other companies were demanding, ARKO stands out as the gold standard. Thank you very much, Arthur and your team, for such an awesome job! You will be much remembered as a critical part of my family's happy start in our new Nevada adventure!

This was the only company that agreed to transport some furniture from Alexandria Va. to WV. at a reasonable rate. I only had a few items to move. However, I was insecure about using a sprinter van because of its limited space, so I chose to upgrade to a truck. This upgrade cost me an extra $100 and was unnecessary . I should have listened to Arthur when he suggested the van. All the other companies I called were about twice the price or were not interested in doing the delivery. Arthur and an assistant delivered my items as scheduled and were very careful, pleasant, and professional in their delivery. I definitely recommend this company.

The team was flexible as we had to make s number of moves. It ended up being a more expensive job but overall I was satisfied.

Movers arrived and were not informed by their office that they would be picking up from two separate locations and delivering to one. Movers worked diligently and took good care of items, listening well and taking extra care with items I pointed out that were fragile.

They arrived fairly late because one of their workers had called in sick and they needed a replacement. I needed to leave by 12:30 and we asked them to come first thing in the morning, but by the time they arrived, we had about 2 hours to get everything done. They were apologetic when they arrived, and assured us that since our load wasn't huge, they would have the job done in time. They were true to their promise and I was able to leave by 12:15, but had there been more furniture or harder work, their tardiness may have been a big problem. The move went smoothly, and they got everything over to the house and told me to just sit back and direct them where everything needed to go. It all went fine, and then I asked them at the end to bring one particularly heavy item upstairs which was already in the house, but was too heavy for my partner and I to bring upstairs on our own. They told us that for items over 300 lbs., they would need to charge an extra $50 (it's $100 to move them between houses, but since they were just going upstairs, they'd cut me a break). They made it seem like a huge deal to move, and even debated if they would be able to get it up the stairs since the angle was a bit tight. In the end, I agreed to pay them $50 if they could move it, they picked it right up, got it up the stairs, and had it in place within about 30 seconds. I looked at the box later and it said that the item was only 220 lbs., heavy for sure, and that angle around the stairs may have seemed daunting, but when they finished it so easily, it hardly seemed worth the extra fee and debating in the end. So basically, lateness and worries about that one extra piece of furniture aside, they did a great job moving us and besides they unforeseen circumstances, I would recommend them as movers, but I'm going to give points off for those problems I mentioned.

The movers arrived on time, were very professional, and very efficient. My things were moved faster than anticipated. I was very pleased and would use ARKO again.

They loaded up and left the storage unit and moved so quickly. They were fast, careful, good nature, and terrific. They went from three different sites in record time and nothing was damaged. They put the furniture where it was supposed to go. It was a great experience. I could not have asked for anything more.

The movers called ahead and arrived exactly when they said they would. They were very professional and delivered all my furniture safely into the truck and to my new house with no issues.

Our experience with Arko Moving was wonderful. After a bad experience with an expensive long distance mover, we hired Arko through Angie's List to complete the job. The move could not have been accomplished in a more proficient and professional manner. Nick and Andrew arrived on time and called us before their arrival to advise when they were 20-30 minutes away. Most items were already professionally boxed or wrapped but they were careful to re-tape when necessary and protected furniture with moving pads as appropriate. Before beginning, Nick reviewed the contract terms and potential additional costs. Notwithstanding a 25 mile drive into the city, a shared elevator, and the condo rule that the move take place through a side door into the basement, the move would have been completed within the 3 hour package with no additional costs but for the fact that we requested more time for assistance with 2 projects. Even with the overage, the move cost under $300 which was a terrific value. We could easily have paid hundreds more but couldn't have received better service. Throughout the move, Nick and Andrew were speedy but very careful and respectful of property. They were also incredibly sweet and patient and made the process as stress-free as possible which we greatly appreciated. We will definitely use them again for future moves and can recommend them without any reservation.

We recently had a super smooth move with ARKO. Arthur was very helpful in answering our questions in advance, and on the day of the move Alex and Andrew were punctual, careful and hard working (and friendly!). We purchased an Angie?s List deal for 4 hours with 2 workers and a truck and the move of all our furniture from our 2 bedroom condo took only 3.25 hours which was great. In our opinion it was an excellent deal and we would recommend them to our family and friends.

The move went great. The movers were very professional. The move however took a little longer than expected so we had to pay for an extra hour.

The guys were excellent! We had actually used them previously to load one of the PODs a few months prior, and were very happy with the pricing and service. In January, it was a bit of a larger job, but we were not disappointed. It was a FRIGIDLY cold day, and the 4 guys were quick, courteous and respectful. The price was far better than the competitors, and we were happy to make it up to them with a good tip. By far the best movers we have used in the area (this is the 3rd local moving company I've had) - I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic service. Prompt, courteous, careful. No hidden charges. Paid about $10 for tape but they will use yours if you have it. Would definitely use again. Highest recommendation.
