They did not communicate the increase in price until they were finished
Description of Work: W started with just having them fix something minor ( a special for less than $200). They found other things wrong and talked us into a special that was supposed to be about $1500. Only when they finished did they give us the bill for much more.

The coupon purchased from Angie's List stated that I would be contacted by the contractor within 2 business days. After the fouth business day, I sent an email to the contractor and still did not hear from him. I contacted the contractor by phone and made a n appointment for the estimate. He arrived on time and performed the estimate and we coordinated on a date for the work. I called to confirm the start date to find out that the individual that performed the estimate was terminated and they could not find the work order therefore they had to come out and perform the estimate again and then schedule a start date. Of course that delayed the work. They did agree not to charge me over the amount of the first estimate. On the day of the appointment they arrived on time and started the work. They did provide a discount for the inconvenience. The work was done satisfactory and the contractor was professional and courteous. Several weeks later, it was discover that the master bedroom did not have electrical power (the discovery took as long as it did because the house was vacant, awaiting a sell). The contractor has been called (yesterday) and we are currently waiting their response.
Description of Work: Replace the buss bar in teh electric panel; isolated the neutral/grounds; replaced the HVAC disconnects; replace a GFI outlet; repaired wires in and repaired ground wireattic

It worked out well. He got everything done in about an hour and a half. He was very good and knowledgeable. The fixture was so old that he had to drill a hole and reroute the wiring. I thought that, that was going to cost me more and it did not. He was quite exceptional. The work turned out excellent. He was professional, courteous and got the job done. He did not create a mess and I was very happy with him. He was out here with in a week. He was quick and he was actually here early. I would use him again.
Description of Work: Walls Electrical Service Incorporated fixed some shorts that I had in some lights. They put in a new light in the bathroom. He put in new outlets and re-calibrated the water heater. It was a big deal.

The electricians actually arrived five minutes early. Upon removing the switchplates inspecting the switches that were only turning on the upper hall light sporadically, the lead electrician, Dean Sheetz, saw that the problem was that the switches were broken and not wired properly. He and his assistant, Billy, got two three-way switches off of their truck (it was nice that they had the replacement parts readily available), installed the new switches at a cost of $12 apiece, verified several times that everything was working properly and were done in half an hour. Dean demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of how three-way switches are wired - there were three different colors of wires involved and he had to test them all and then attach them to the three-way switches so that they would interact properly, depending on whether you turned the light on while upstairs or downstairs.
Description of Work: Replaced two three-way switches in the foyer and upstairs hallway.

To find the short and repair it costs $354.00. With the deal I paid $253.00. He was here about One and A half hours. That evening the GFCI breaker kicked off.I called the next day and he came back and said there was a mystery wire that he didn't know where it went to, capped it off and said that fixed the problem. Now if I plug in anything down stairs outside or in the garage it kicks the GFCI Breaked, so basically I have the same exact problem and Im out $253.00 dollars.
Description of Work: Tried to locate the source of a short that was kicking the GFCI Circuit Breaker.

Due to a wrong connection some lights were working when they shouldn't. We bought a voucher $99 with a value of $200. After our call a visit was quickly organized. Steve came out to help us. He was very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. After a 15 min diagnosis he reconnected all wires. Problem solved. Diagnosis: $175.00 Service Call: $100.00

Dean was our electrician and he was kind, prompt, polite and extremely knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose all problems and even worked in the rain to complete an outside job. All the while he was the nicest person who clearly does his job well with integrity, focus, and care for the house he is working in. Will definitely call Walls Electrical and Dean for next electrical job.

Several months ago three outlets in my home's basement apartment stopped working. After I finally got around to looking for an electrician, I found and purchased an Angie's List deal for $99.00 for $200.00 worth of electrical services. The company was quick to respond and set up an appointment that worked with my schedule. The technician was highly knowledgeable and determined that the three outlets in the basement weren't working because something was disrupting the (forgive me if I explain this incorrectly) electrical flow from one of the outlets to the others, like a chain reaction of outlets. He said there was probably a staple, a nail, or some other item that had gotten pushed into the wire going between the good outlet and the first bad outlet. Because the outlets are connected like the old-style Christmas lights, if that one outlet can't "communicate" with the other outlet, then the rest of them along that chain also won't work. In order to fix it, he would have needed to cut out sections of the drywall to locate the source of the interruption. He told me that it could cost anywhere from $250 - $500 depending on how much searching he has to do to find the problem and then what he'll need to do to fix it. However, he's an electrician, not a contractor or handyman or dry-wall person. I'd have to hire someone to repair the wall after he was done repairing the electrical problem. It's still winter here so I opted to wait until the Spring to get this problem fixed since holes in the drywall will leak cold air into my house. I will definitely use this company to do the repair come Spring because I think the technician is highly competent and was honest with the cost quote. He also took one look at the electrical outlet in the garage (where my washing machine is plugged in) and saw why the outlet was so glitchy. He fixed it and so far, my washing machine has not stopped washing mid-cycle. Yay! Thanks Wall's Electrical Service...and I'll see you again in the Spring.
Description of Work: Determined the cause of three non-working electrical outlets in the basement apartment and fixed a poorly-installed electrical outlet in the garage.

The person I had contact with was very nice and professional. However, Walls refused to provide an estimate of work over the phone, and I had to take time off work in order to meet with the person at my condo to discuss work. $175 to install one fan is ridiculous and far above any other rate I was quoted.

I did not have confidence in the expertise of this provider to the point where I would ask them to do anything new and just had them replace existing security lights. Estimates from provider onsight were overly high for the work. I was not made aware of a $75 service call fee in addition to the big deal purchased. Would not recommend this big deal or electrical service to any future customers.

It was a very rocky start since the coupon/website stated they would contact me within 3 working days and it took a bit longer than that to get the initial contact but when I finally called them the young lady on the phone provided me with a quick turn around on the service time. Mr Jim B. was on time and was able to fix the problem on that same day and time so for that I will not fault the company on any markings because the service was worth the wait with the knowledge and professionlism that Mr Jim B. brought with him on his assignment date/time. Thank you

The contractor showed up right on time and called when he was en route. The contractor was very professional and had experience with installing a EV charging station before. He estimated 3 hours of work and quoted total of $750 cost for the job. He was able to quickly wire the station, drill the whole, run the cable to the panel and install the circuit breaker, while explaining what he was doing, he even fixed a small issue with the panel. All in all he was done in 2 hours, made sure the work area is clean and the cable entry into the house is sealed. The only downside to the overall experience is the cost - even with the Angie's list deal the overall cost out of pocket was $650 for 2 hours of work and $30-$40 worth of materials. I feel this is on the high side, it was not clear how the pricing was done.
Description of Work: Provider installed a GE EV charging station on the side of the house. This included mounting the station on the side of the house, drilling a hole through the brick and running the cable to the panel nearby, installing a circuit breaker and testing the station.

Our only regret is that the special deal did not involve drywall patch work resulting from the installation but we hired an electrician, not a dry wall guy.
Description of Work: Installed four "can" ceiling lights in our kitchen. Walls had to beg off and reschedule from our first appointment due to an emergency job involving a serious fire hazard at a restaurant. Other than that hiccup, the work went very well and was done on time as rescheduled.

WALLS ELECTRICAL SERVICE INC were 1 hour late from the scheduled time. When I called, they said they had another time slotted and they were behind due to another job. Which one was it? Another time or were they behind! I gave them a B, because the electrician was knowledgeable and completed the wiring of a new breaker very quickly. If I need an electrician, I will give them a second chance due them being knowledgeable.
