Virginia Tire & Auto of Ashburn

I have been dealing with this location for many years, and have had mixed results. Sometimes, things go well, price is right, service performed on time, other times I feel like the yare trying to get every last dime out of me. After this week's experience, I won't be back. I took my Jeep in Monday because the Check Engine Light was on. Explained that I would be out on business travel until Thursday. So Thursday I arrived back in town and was concerned that I had not heard from them, so just drove by. I was told that they had tried to call me on Tuesday without success. Period, the end, they tried once, one number, and nothing more. They have other numbers on file, plus my email. So no work was done, just an estimate for $1,400 worth of work that "might" fix it. It's not the repair that caused me to write this review, although it does seem extremely high, it's the communication. I need the Jeep for Friday and nothing was done for 3 days! Just 1 phone call was made to my cell that I have no record of.

They are great people, they are always nice, accommodating, they're just good people to work with. They do all sorts of inspections and services where they check everything on my car that need changed and fixed, every six months. I've never had a problem with them. I'm going back in July.

They actually handled a replacement tire that I had gotten from another company. It had an unrepairable puncture. They were shipped the tire and put it on. They are very friendly.

I get my brakes replaced, bought tires and recently kept getting a notification about my tire being low. They took care of it and I went back thinking I had a slow leak. It turned out it was corrosion around my wheel. They put it up on the lift and cleaned it for free since I purchased the tires there. They have a great waiting area that is very clean with free drinks, free wifi and a great atmosphere. I have used them for years and they are just terrific!

Brought in the vehicle with a coupon for a $275 brake job. Turns out that was only for one axle and only for replacing pads and turning rotors. Mechanic called and said rotors were bad and needed replacing on both axles. That turned a $275 job into a $800 job. After work was completed I took the care home and the brakes started smoking. Returned the car the next day and then they said the calipers were bad and needed to be placed (one side), that was an additional $400 but they reduced it to $280. I just feel everytime I bring the car into VA Tire and Auto the spend more time up-selling me on things that need additional work when everything appears fine and I have no way of disproving what they are saying is inaccurate as I am not a mechanic. I have just lost faith in this shop and will be looking for a place I can trust.

They performed the emissions test as requested. We had also asked them to look at some issues with the brakes that appeared after our car was in their shop for safety inspection the previous week. We believe the brake issues were caused at the shop because we had never experienced them before. The next day they called and said it would cost another $800 to fix the brakes. So we told them to go ahead and fix the brakes (even though we're sure the brake issue is their fault in the first place). The next day they called to say the brakes are fixed but now the car won't start at all because the clutch assembly is broken, and asked for another $2000 to fix it. When we asked for an explanation of why our car, that worked just fine before, managed to break so severely while at their shop they said "it happens." We have taken several vehicles to this shop over the years and recently we've been getting them back in worse condition than they were when we dropped them off. We're increasingly disappointed with the quality of the mechanics, and this latest incident is the last straw. We will no longer be customers of Virginia Tire and Auto.

The work was done very professionally and very well, they explained everything clearly but they forgot one thing to do, I asked them to top up the oil but they did not. It took them full afternoon so they gave me a complimentary car for use. I will recommend them.

They just remodeled and I like the store front. The people behind the counter are very friendly. They give you transportation to your house. There are coupons available that are either online or are extended to you. So you can get discounts on any service and they keep a history of all your work.

They were available on my schedule. I was able to get a ride home. The work was done quickly and cost $100.00 less than the dealer wanted for the same repair!

We've had very good experience there. I think the prices are a little bit high but we keep going back because we get outstanding service. They do have a shuttle service.

Rear brakes didn't pass inspection. He asked if I wanted quote for replacing. He wasn't pushy at all. I could have left and gone elsewhere but of course I wouldn't have an inspection sticker. He quoted me price and I had no idea how much it should cost but I agreed because I needed it done. He said the mechanic also recommended the brake and power steering flush because fluids were black. He seemed understanding when I told him I wasn't expecting to have to pay this much today. I went ahead with it. While I was waiting I looked up prices. They were a bit higher then other places but Virginia Tire had good reviews so I figured they were legit. Brakes work fine

They are great. They deal with women. They do what they say they are going to do, and the environment is very clean, and very nice.

They do a great job. I never use anyone else as they are just excellent at what they do. They are very friendly and courteous. They are accurate on the estimates and they complete the work as promised. I trust them and that is why I continue to go back.

They are very good. Their shuttle service is great. They are a good group of guys and tell you upfront what the cost will be. The turnaround in getting my vehicle back is what they estimate. They are very honest and tell you exactly when they can get to your car. They set accurate expectations. I have been using them for about 8 years and have been satisfied.

They have done great service. They probably saved me from an accident because the tire was so damaged. They showed me the damage and didn’t pressure me to buy any other tires. I just had the one replaced. I have used them for other services and they offer a shuttle service, which is always punctual.

Their service is okay but their prices are too high. They keep trying to add services on. What they do is very good though. I have been going to this shop for 3 or 4 years and haven’t had any other issues with them.

They have done an outstanding job in the seven years I've been going to them. They are cheaper than the dealer and have competitive prices. They have a great relationship with their customers and find coupons and other good deals. They discuss what needs to be done and what money to put into your vehicle depending on it's age. They are also AAA approved. No one can beat their service, they get my vehicle in faster and do the work for cheaper, and they even offer pick ups and rides home to their customers.

This was simple state inspection. However, the shop charged for emissions as well (even though in virginia the emissions cycle is once every 2 years and inspection is every year). The shop was specifically told that emissions was NOT required. After much haggling, the manager did refund the cost of the emissions. Its not clear whether they did actually perform the emissions test by mistake or it was just a billing error.

The work was completed that day. I purchased top of the line tires for my Lexus SUV and they provided transportation and pick up service when the car was completed. One week later, I ran over a nail and they repaired the tire free of charge. I recently had an indication of low tire pressure and they gladly checked all tires added the needed air. The staff is very professional and the location is open 7 days a week.

They were efficient and professional. They explained what the process involved and what I needed to do to have my car registered in Virginia. I will defiantly use them for all my automotive needs!

These guys are professional, good to work with. Though their shuttle van was out taxing some other people, Keith at the desk got another vehicle and shuttled me home while they worked. Other particularly impressive occurrence was their technology. They gave me a report of all the tires, how they were, how they are aligned now. I hadn't seen this before, yet it's been 3 years since I've replaced tires. This report had camber recommendations since I own a 310hp coupe 6-speed manual. Also of note in less than 3 minutes on the phone initially, they had the exact tires I love Bridgestone Potenzas. That may not be a big deal to some people, but I have had in the past to call around to find a place that had these. And staggered too, that is differing sizes for front and rear tires, which my car requires. That's about it, I'd recommend and I'd go back.

I went by VA Tire & Auto Ice Rink Plaza store for the required inspection as I just moved to the area. I like it because it's close to my work location and it seems like everyone was very professional. I will definitely give them a chance to work on my car for its next service, so we will see how it goes. So far I was very impressed as it's a busy store and they seem to run a pretty efficient shop.
