Today my 2007 had been missing. I wanted to know what was happening and fix it. $125 for diagnosis (seemed high but it was less than another quote. The guy came out with a list after the diagnosis. Half the list sounded overpriced and unnecessary. I said no to those. I went with the filter at $38 and replacing 4 plugs $31.54 each. Seemed high so it had to include the labor, I thought. I said do it. I did not ask about and he did not volunteer that the labor would be $313.66!! Why would he not tell me that? That was a very expensive lesson that you always have to ask for the price including everything. And assume nothing until you trust them.
Looking for prices for the plugs and installation on line at the Toyota site - it was about $100 less at most.
OK - the heck with the service chains. I'm going to find an independent shop that I can trust.
Anybody know a good independent shop you trust West of Alexandria?

It looks like the only maintenance recommendations that were made on your vehicle were brake fluid and transmission fluid changes based on the fluid conditions. We can never call preventive maintenance "life or death". Some people believe in it and some don't, however, we certainly recommend it to promote longevity. Please consider giving us a second try and we will be happy to be more clear about our vehicle evaluation process."
