Advantage Window & Door

Buyer beware! First and foremost, I ignored all the bad reviews when I called Bill and fully regret not listening to the comments. So I was told to call Bill to get my moms front door replaced (she is 80 years old). I called, he came over, and when he came over he sold my mom on getting all brand new windows. He is definitely a salesman and knows how to sell to people. We expressed how she needed a new door badly (he saw that the frame was broken, the door is warped, the sidelights are broken, and it doesn’t lock). Bill said no problem, he will take care of her. He wrote up a contract to show our “great deal” for the door IF WE BOUGHT THE WINDOWS and she signed the contract. He sold her on the “lifetime warranty, quick installation and how if we did the windows right now then he would give us a great deal on the door afterwards”. They came out a week later and replaced all the windows. He measured the door, asked us what we wanted, we sent him the door we want and was supposed to contact me to get it replaced. This all started in November. We are now in February and still no door. I have texted multiple times, called multiple times and no response. He took advantage of an 80 year old woman and convinced her to spend $8000 on windows (when she needed a door) and he never fulfilled the obligation for a door. I am very disappointed because I had a few people that wanted to get their windows replaced but they have now lost out on their business all due to no communication. It’s unfortunate because the one guy that works for him (I never saw more than just one guy doing all the work) did a great job on the windows but I don’t think Bill would fulfill the warranty part in case anything did happen (based on other comments and reviews I’ve read and they never get call or texts back either). Buyer beware!!

They did a good job and had good prices.

The doors where good but installation was terrible. You could see outside around the frame on some of them,which they somewhat fixed after we brought it to there attention. We replaced our really heavy old triple pane windows with their vinyl windows. The look was definetly improved but the quality of the windows their salesman sold us was terrible. Lots of cold air comes in in the winter and heat in the summer. You can feel all the cold air coming through the windows when you stand by them. The salesman they had at the time 2008 was a wheeler and a dealer. I feel that possibly what they showed me and what I paid for was not what they ended up installing. I spent close to 30,000 with Advantage and got ripped off. Possibly the original owner has since sold the company and moved own re-opening another rip off company under a different name. This is just a precaution to buyers to be aware of the unethicel business practices of Advantage window and doors and to check to see how long the current owner has owned this business. If it is the same owner as in 2008 they are very shoddy in installation on windows and sell you cheap windows. The siding job was the only part we were happy with but those installers no longer work there. Had I been a Angie's list member in 2008 I would have posted this review back then. Every year I pay more for heating and A/C remi ds me of how unsatisfied I am with Advantage windows and door.

The owner of the company and his son performed the measurements and the bid. They were extremely nice and explained everything perfectly. Two weeks later, our windows were installed in 2 days, just as the owner had said they would be. The owner and his son showed up during the installation to check on the installers, and this part of the experience was professional, courteous and fast. Everything you could want. The installers were amazing and got the windows installed without a hitch, even fixing the framing around the windows in several areas. Loved the installers! BUT... One of the windows was broken at the factory and still installed broken. Not a big deal, it would take another two weeks for the replacement window. In the meantime, it took a week for the outdoor flashing guy to even stop by to start on his part of the job... This installer left early for personal issues/other jobs. Still unclear as to why he would need to leave early, but he started a week after the windows were finished, performed a half-day of work, came back the next day and immediately left. He said he would be back in the afternoon. Afternoon came and went, and he didn't show up. This installer was awful, clearly no passion for quality or customer satisfaction, as it took him 3 weeks to do 4-6 days worth of work (that's being generous). When he finally said he was done, I had to walk around to each of the windows and point out where water could get into the flashing because it hadn't been caulked properly. Overall, the outdoor flashing was lower quality than I would expect from a professional installer--This is what it would look like if I had done it myself. So, here we are 1 month after the job was started, and finally finished... except for that broken window. The owner said he would call us when the replacement was delivered (a two-week wait?) 1 month later, my wife called to find out when, and he (or his son) said they had received the window and that they would call to set up an appointment at a later date. No call for a week. My wife calls again. This time no answer. One more week passes and finally I call. 3 days later, the window is installed. Long story short: The installers were fast, punctual and courteous. The owner, while personable, didn't seem to take my wife seriously. The flashing installer was subpar, late and took way too long to perform his job. Had the window not been broken when they first installed the window, I would have given them a B. The 6 week wait was ridiculous and seemed as though they didn't take my wife seriously (or maybe they just didn't care because they had already been paid in full). Overall, the flashing installer and the lack of response drive the entire experience to a C (perhaps a high C or low B), even though the actual window installers were amazing.

Went as scheduled. John and Dale were pleasant and cleaned up afterwards.

I had an excellent overall experience with them. They rendered quality service. They were punctual, responsive, and professional. I would definitely use them in the future.

At the time we thought the salesman was great but he was a little full of baloney. My husband was a little disappointed in what he told us about putting in the windows. They were supposed to put it underneath the wood and not on top but when the installers came out they were fantastic. They were very nice. They cleaned up after themselves. They said they would be done in two days and they were done in two days. We thought it was a pretty good deal for the 17 windows. For our overall experience, we would give the installers an and lsquo;A'. The guy that measured told us all the things that we wanted to hear but when the installers came out they said they couldn't take it through the wood without taking it off. Once they explained, we could understand; it was too bad that the salesman didn't tell us that.
