All 18 windows in our home were replaced. However, they had no intention of insulating the windows. A plastic strip was going to be used to cover the up to 1" gap surrounding the windows. When asked to use insulation surrounding the windows, they finished hanging the windows, loosely added insulation, and left for the day. It rained that night. When they returned, they began to caulk and add the plastic strip to cover the gap. The insulation was wet from the rain, so I made them stop until the insulation was dry. We were told that all walls, fixtures, furniture, etc. would be draped so that no damage would occur during the scraping, texturing, and painting of the ceilings. This did not happen. All blinds had to be replaced, a mirror was broken, and the closet doors are covered in texturing material and overspray. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, the kitchen, utility room, and office all have damage caused from overspray of texture materials and paint. They did repaint two bedrooms (less the closet doors), but used over 6 gallons of paint to do so. We'd previously painted both with less than two gallons. They failed to prime the walls and just kept using more paint. I was nice and supplied that paint because we were going to be painting other rooms with the same color. They completely wasted my money. The kitchen, bathrooms, and utility room still have the overspray from the texturing material and paint used on the ceilings. I believe they painted the ceilings three times before finally getting an actual primer and then painting them. The contractor told us that they were responsible for removing and rehanging ceiling fans, light fixtures, vent registers, etc. The crew actually doing the work did not want to do this. We had to remove and rehang the majority of these things. The few that the crew did take care of were reinstalled incorrectly and had to be corrected by us. When the tile in the hallway was removed, sections of drywall were removed as well. These sections were pointed out, but never repaired. The french doors are simply not what I ordered, but by the time they arrived, we were just ready for this crew to be gone. I ordered glass french doors with a dog door built in. What we received were industrial doors that don't match. There is glass on the top, but the bottom of the doors are clearly different. One door is smooth. The other has a raised design. I asked for a dog door built in, not to have a dog door cut into a brand new door. The dog door is a brand that can be purchased from Petsmart. That is not what I ordered. The first round of installation left us with one operational door, and one fixed door. We were actually told to NOT use one of the doors. We had to point out that we had doors installed, not one door and one wall. The second round of installation left us with two operational doors and a great view of the outside...where there should be a bottom seal. We simply gave up at this point! At least we have doors with a dog door. The garage doors are just what we ordered. The garage door opener works as expected. Installation was smooth and uneventful. The siding, soffit, and facia are just what we ordered. The gentleman that completed that work was very thorough and took pride in his work. Now the metal cover over the back porch was not originally part of the agreement. There had been so many issues with this job. The contractor offered to build the porch cover and charge us only the cost of his building materials. The porch cover is lovely. It's probably our favorite project that was completed. The issue I have here is that when the metal was welded up against the house, it damaged the new siding that had just been installed. I pointed that out to the son of the contractor. He said he'd cover the damage with some paint. NO! I told him it needed to be replaced. He said ok. I guess I should've watched him. It didn't get replaced. You can still see the black weld marks on my brand new siding in at least two places. I don't like being lied to. We were also told that our contract included a cleaning person one full day. That never happened. To be completely fair, we were unable to begin this project when the contractor originally wanted to. By the time we were ready to begin, the contractor had many other jobs going on. He was trying to catch up after all the rain and flooding that had occurred. Perhaps there were just too many jobs going on at once. This contractor was very highly recommended by all that I asked. He is a very nice person. I honestly think that he had too many jobs going on at once. That doesn't excuse what happened on our project, and, unfortunately, we will most likely not use his services again, but he did try to make things right as best he could. Most of the people that were working with/for him were just not trustworthy and no matter how much you watched them, they always found a way to get by with something.

S & F, he was our contractor, overall the job went real well. It was within the time frame that we agreed to. The work was all good. The people that he brought in all did a good job. I would recommend him to another Angie's List member. He is one of the best.
Description of Work: The last time I used them was in July. We did some remodeling in the bathroom, re-painted the interior and exterior of the house and replace some wood work both exterior and interior.
