I don't often write reviews, but in this case I want to share the exceptional experience we had with Cesar Viana at Star Furniture in Sugarland. We had been shopping for a specific height and style of end tables for months and had not found anything that we liked. We went to countless local Houston furniture stores and even shopped for hours online looking for "just the right tables". At each store we would be greeted and then be left on our own to browse the entire store because the salesperson said their tables were scattered throughout the store. We were left to wander aimlessly hoping we did not overlook anything. A few years ago I had a bad experience with the Star Furniture store in the Clear Lake area. At that time we were shopping for a single recliner and none of the sales staff was interested in helping us after finding out we were not making a high dollar purchase. After that cold reception I had decided to never shop with Star Furniture again. Two weeks ago we were in the Sugarland area and had some time to kill before an appointment so we decided to shop Star "one more time". When we entered the showroom, we were warmly greeted by Cesar. I explained to him that we were shopping for a small purchase, 2 end tables, like we had done at previous furniture stores so we would not be "wasting his time". He said please tell me what you are looking for and I will show you our tables. Much to my surprise he guided us to every table in the large showroom carefully evaluating our likes and dislikes. When we had narrowed our choices down to 2 different tables he took us back and forth between both tables until we made our final selection. When I realized I needed to re-measure the space at home he suggested we reserve the items with a deposit and after confirming the correct size we could complete the purchase over the phone. Before we could complete our purchase a family member was hospitalized and it was several more days before we completed our order. During that time Cesar was so patient and understanding; he even phoned several times just checking on the health of our loved one. Once everything was settled we decided to order both sets of tables! Cesar promptly took care of our additional tables and even called the day the tables were delivered to be sure we were happy with them. I have never encountered such a diligent, compassionate, helpful person in the furniture sales field. Cesar spent well over an hour with us in the showroom and kept in close contact after our sale to ensure everything was satisfactory. Cesar has restored my confidence in Star Furniture! Although the Sugarland location is not near our home, I will always return to this location to shop for any future furniture purchases with the assistance of Cesar Viana. It was truly a pleasure to work with Cesar; I highly recommend seeking his assistance for any of your furniture purchases. You will NOT be disappointed! Thank you Cesar Viana for ensuring we had a successful purchasing experience, your knowledgeable assistance, and attention to detail!

Great selection, helpful salespeople who are not pushy and fantastic delivery service. Prices were great and we shopped at 4 other stores. Our furniture was wrapped in blankets and/or plastic wrap to protect it when delivered and delivery crew set it up in the location we asked.
Description of Work: Purchased Coffee Table, End Table and TV Console.

Description of Work: Diana was excellent. She knew her merchandise and pointed out all choices about a curio cabinet I purchased; length, width, height, cabinet opening (sliding, not on hinges), wood color. She gave me all options for paying for purchase and followed up promptly with delivery date and time. It made my purchase very simple. My only complaint was the manufacturer did not send enough shelf supports for the shelves that came with the cabinet and one side had a slight scratch in the glass which I considered poor quality control on the manufaturer's part. This was a high quality Pulaski cabinet. Judy

Take if from me. You do not want to have to deal with this company if there are ANY issues. We had office furniture installed initially on July 17th, 2015. Here it is September 10th, almost 2 months to the day and it's still not complete. The delivery and customer service has been horrible from the get-go. You should NEVER buy from this company because once they deliver to your home, it's a 15% restocking fee if your return it. If you buy over 10k worth of furniture and are not happy with the product, delivery, or customer service, you're still out $1500 if you tell them to take it back. You're stuck with the furniture or shell out 15%. I have not received a phone call from Customer Service on how we could rectify all of these issues in any financial way. They're a Berkshire-Hathaway company, have tons of cash and they don't give a flip whether you're happy or not.
Description of Work: They did not get the initial order correct. Forgot to order hutches. This is the 2nd email to CSagent and here we are 8 days after our initial delivery of our office wall system and we still do not have complete installation that is properly installed. We emailed as you can see from the forwarded email below about the front foot of one of the wall desks was not present and needed one to properly finish the installation. Once again, Star furniture did not follow through and inform the customer service reps what work we needed done. The Star Furniture representative said he did not know about the missing foot leveler. How can this happen when it is captured in an email? How can he also not know about the missing rubber foot on the lateral file? As a direct result of these issues, i once again get to email pictures of more scratches that have been put into my office floor due to complete inept personnel. The original email had pictures showing the nails that were exposed on the lateral file cabinet that did not have a rubber foot. The delivery/service reps that came on 7-25-15, of which one was Avery, caused further damage to our floors. As you will be able to see from the pictures, Avery's solution to the lack of having a rubber foot on one corner was to put a larger rubber foot on the opposite corner. This forced the nails and corners into the flooring causing tremendous damage on top of what was already done. We are now sitting at a full week without a single response from Star Furniture towards resolution of the flooring. We have had Star reps to our house 3 times already to "install" the office system and it is still not complete. I have never in my 46 years encountered such an unprofessional and poorly communicated customer service division. This has been a complete disaster for us and is one of the most regretful purchase I have ever made in my life. Please have someone that can make a decision and ensure complete and thorough follow-up contact me and/or my wife.

Terry Walker helped me a lot and he is sole responsible that I bought that furniture from STAR. STAR was always my first choice earlier but I had really bad experience with Sofa I bought from star. I bought it couple years ago and leather started peeling from one specific side and keeps peeling from that area, even I had warranty it did not cover by warranty people. I have also bought my full bedroom furniture from Star earlier but after sofa incident I tried to avoid Star Furniture. I already bought one dining set from Macy's but delivery was delayed and I had to go and take a look other places. I went to other places like Ashley, rooms to go and Dillard?s and almost bought a dining set from Rooms to go but before I bought I thought to take a look at Star Furniture as well. I went in to store 15 minutes before it closes and came out with my receipt. Terry and store manager helped me with my sofa issues. Next time I am surely going to Start Furniture.

Finally , the excitement of a new house and new things to buy . Thus was worst than buying a car . We were there for 5 hours . Our salesman was busy , and no one else was . I told the manager so he can get us someone else . And he did not . After all said and done we bought . They Delivered the furniture and broke it and scratched the walls . Yeah here goes my excitement !!!!!

Excellent service, product and delivery from start to finish.
Description of Work: Brett was our salesman. Did not hover over you but let you browse the store and then came at the end to help with the purchase. Completed the paperwork for us to receive the delivery rebate (I think that is what it was). We have since bought 3 more items from the Brett at the store. The young men who deliver the furniture are so polite and nice. Very good store to deal with, will use them again if needed in the future.
