SPS Contracting

We got a decent sized addition done with SPS. They came forward with great ideas and great pricing. We loved his ability to come up with unique solutions and great customer service. The overall build seems to be well done. We have had it for almost a year with no major issues. But the experience was a little challenging 1) Ed is the GC but he does not do a good job overall doing quality control. His son, Jesus is also very good. His Son in law is a really nice guy but his work is not up to par. The last few weeks, Ed left is to his son in law to finish up which meant the final finish was bad. Bathroom cabinet door did not close fully. There were splotches of semi gloss and matte paint all over the place. A door was cut unevenly and is still that way. I pointed out many of these, and they would come and close out a few but let others be. 2) the framing around windows was not a straight line. Slight angles everywhere. Not sure why.... Flooring has dips in it... I pointed it out before they put the flooring down... But still got issues. Electric work was mostly done by an assistant to the master electrician.. so I keep wondering if it was really done up to par, especially as the glaring issues were found later. Some of them fixed, others not. Paint shades were not accurately matched. Cleanliness by his crew was ok I have seen my friends projects be done better. 3) Communication was ok. It took me a while to figure out the dynamics. Tldr. Overall the project was decently done. The core work seems to be well done. The finish is lacking. Communication was ok. Supervision by GC was not as good as expected. By the end of the project, I think they were as ready to walk away as we were.

The contractor used wet lumber for the pergola and it contorted after a couple of months and caused the wood to crack all over. Patio concrete cracked from end to end. The contractor would not warranty it within the 1 year period. As soon as the job was done, it was nearly impossible to get ahold of them again. I do not recommend using this contractor.

I recently had my roof done by SBS Construction. I was incredibly impressed with the high-quality job they did. Not only did they complete the project quickly, but their attention to detail was outstanding. The team also provided excellent customer service throughout the entire process. I highly recommend SBS for all your roofing needs

After interviewing a couple contractors, who were very friendly and helpful but also very expensive to remodel 2 bathrooms we had an interview with Ed. He was very professional and helpful he understood what we want to do and his quote for the work was reasonable and his timeline for the project work with ours. When the work started his team were very professional and supportive, they show up at time, they worked hard and finished the project within the timeline given. They cleaned up their workspace every day before leaving. We love our new bathroom spaces and would definitively hire them again for future projects.

We needed a shower upgrade and a kitchen wall removed and Ed and his team did an excellent job to make it happen. Ed offered helpful suggestions that improved the overall project. They stayed within the budget and completed the two projects ahead of schedule. We are very pleased with there work and would hire them again for my next project.

We recently completed a whole-home remodel of a 3,000sqft 1980s home with Ed and Jesse at SPS. We interviewed multiple contractors and selected SPS as Ed was very engaged, trustworthy, insightful, and value-minded to give good results at an affordable price. All of these attributes came to fruition once working together. I have done multiple large home renovation projects and this one was by far the smoothest thanks to the tireless work by the SPS crews (showing up on time, working long hours, sometimes 6 days a week to get the job done in time for the holiday as promised). I would highly recommend anyone consider Ed and the SPS team for home improvement projects of any size.

I cannot recommend SPS & Contracting enough. When we first started our search for a GC to build our 3 room addition we did not really know where to start. We met with a few & Ed really separated himself quickly & that quality of work ethic showed in every step of the project. Arrived on time, worked long hours, & my family loves our new addition. A lot of contactors will "tell you" what value they will bring if hired to do a project. Ed & Jesus show by example the value they add to a project. I have already recommended them to neighbors & would hire them again myself in the future.

Was able to get a complete master bathroom remodel for less than the price I was being quoted to only do the shower from other companies. The project only took 2 weeks and the quality of the products and workmanship is fantastic. Great customer service and communication. Any time I had a question or concern, it was explained/addressed ASAP. Would absolutely recommend and will use them again for future projects.

It was a pleasure working with Ed on this project and I appreciated the high level of communication from him throughout the project. He provided great suggestions for the renovations and it was very collaborative process. I highly recommend him and I look forward to working with him again in the future on additional projects.

Unreliable, dont show up at time they said they would be here. When they showed up they didnt stay long, were leaving early without saying anything. Then they had a tile person who showed up 3 times for approximately 2 to 3 hours and then left without saying anything. I had told them how I wanted the tiles around my tub arranged and they did the opposite. Same is true with the tiles on the floor, I wanted a slim gap between the tiles with black grouting, they left no gap whatsoever. There were some uneven areas on the bathroom walls that needed some minor cosmetic and very fast fix, but they said that wasnt part of the bathroom remodel. They flooded my bathroom twice and did not replace the vanity that was practically destroyed. I had noticed the floor of the vanity was ruined and they replaced it with rough wood, but I had not noticed that the side wall of it was ruined as well until a day after they announced it all done. They put 2 chips into my large mirror which I had also not noticed until the next day when we had daylight again. And this whole nightmare took over 5 weeks. Oh, they also got glossy paint for my bathroom walls which is not what the original paint was and which is not what I told them I wanted. And to top it off, I had shown them a sample of color and type of paint (on a door frame, also, the original baseboards werent matt) that I wanted them to use on the floor boards, but they decided to go with the right color, not the right type of paint, they used matt. Matt on the floor boards, matt on the wood topping of the small room divider. In other words, what could go wrong went wrong and in the end they never had the decency to offer me a discount. Over five weeks of hell. Dust everywhere and one excuse after another. I dont know whether they thought they can do this to me because I am an older woman or whether this is just pure incompetence or laziness. After all, no one ever worked a full day on this project. Considering that my master bathroom is not very large and my bedroom, which they only tiled and from which they removed old, but still like new baseboards and then replaced with new baseboards, should have taken no more than 1 week. I need to have that mirror replaced, God only knows what the wall behind it looks like. Oh, I almost forgot, the person who installed the baseboards forgot to install 2 pieces, both instances a small piece of baseboard next to doors and one larger piece in the bedroom, next to a door as well, was cut about 1 inch to short. The job was not done professionally and because they were so messy and dirty, my new tile floor is ruined. Its a matt, black tile and even though one of them had mobbed the floor several times on the day they called it all done, you can see rings from buckets and even rectangular containers as well as drops and splashes of something. I have tried in a small area to get rid of these weird marks, but to no avail. Also, they never watched out to keep my bedroom walls clean. My goodness, splashes of grouting or mud, and smears etc. Painting the bedroom walls was not in our contract, but considering the damage they caused and the stress of this for over 5 weeks, they could have at least offered to do that. No, I would not ever recommend this company. It has been my experience that in Texas you simply cannot find a decent and competent contractor for anything. They all promise to be the professionals, to be different than those who make those empty promises. Its all a lie. I have tried so many different contractors for so many different projects in the last 15 years and every time I lost money and time and ended up having to redo things myself or just tear what they did down. In my experience, there are no honest and competent contractors in this area of the country. And when I told a coworkers of having had nothing but problems, they said they had the same experience. The workmanship was fair. Price was more than double what it should have cost. I did not get my Veterans discount.

Very pleased with the crews and the project leads. I do not think we could have found a better company to help us with this project. They were patient and went above and beyond to make sure we were pleased with our new room.

Tyler came out and provided an estimate for our new patio extension, and a little more than a week later it was complete. SPS stood by their estimate and both Tyler and Jesus were very prompt in returning calls and messages. Even the next day, after the concrete was poured and the surface didn't quite look the way we had envisioned, they had their crew back out and made it right. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and neighbors and am also considering them for other small projects around the house.

First, Ed came out to give me an estimate on my driveway extension. I surveyed 3 contractors and SPS was the most professional and their proposal met my budget. Second, Once I received the work order from The Woodlands, I called Ed and he was at my house the next day with the material and Jose who did the job to my satisfaction. Third. I have a great driveway extension.

They did it really fast and really well. They worked really hard and got it done in less than 4 days. I highly recommend them.

Outstanding performance in meeting my needs to replace an existing wooden deck. This included demolition, constructing new framing and placing the wood deck boards, and sitting benches. The new deck was over 640 sq. ft. Tyler and Eric are very skilled. Their attention to detail is very satisfactory. Both guys are easy to talk to, answered all my questions, and stayed on schedule. I recommend SPS and Contracting for any deck renovation.

Ed called me immediately after I contacted Home Advisor. I was able to send him pictures of the area where we needed a concrete patio extension poured and he emailed me a written quote very quickly. We set a date and his men were on time and did a great job. There was a little splash concrete on our hardy plank & he sent his men back out to take care of it immediately. Ed and was interested in getting my business as was evidenced by his quick and efficient response to my requests and by doing a great job as well as coming back after he had been paid to address a minor problem. I would highly recommend Ed & SPS and Contracting based on their attitude & work.

Nothing that was promised was delivered. It was a horrible job, horrible experience and I would never recommend him to others because he did not know what he was doing. I feel deceived.
