Jim and his crew did an outstanding job. From the original estimate to the finished product I could not ask for smoother transition. The whole kitchen was gutted except for the stove and refrigerator. The workmanship done ( painting, electrical, plumbing and tile installation) to the quality of the cabinets were all top notch. Outstanding Job!!! Can not give a better recommendation.

We have been searching for a long time and finally received enough bids that we were finally able to find a contractor for our project. We had to wait a few extra weeks for our appointment with Remodel Specialists and would have had to wait several more for the project to begin. They seemed as knowledgeable, responsive and professional as several other companies, but the bid was cost prohibitively higher than our other two workable bids we received. I may be wrong, but I wonder if their extra long lead time was due to their popularity caused by being on Angie's List? If we had not waited for their initial appointment and time to prepare their bid and gone with the company we selected, our project would be nearly done by now.

I contacted this company for a quote regarding the following projects. 1. Custom cabinet work in bathroom. 2. Drop-in cabinet work in bathroom. They were very professional in stating that they were currently not quoting anything other than full kitchen or bathroom remodels due to volume of requests. Victims of their own success it seems.
Description of Work: Contacted them for a quote and was declined a quote due to job size.

This is my second time to use Remodel Specialists. They completed a huge bathroom remodel for us earlier this year, and I would not use or recommend anyone else for kitchen or bath remodeling. Even though this was a very small job, their attention to detail was as excellent as it was on the larger project. Their entire operation is like a well-oiled machine. Their craftsmen and technicians are very well trained in customer relations, and they go out of their way to minimize disruptions in your home. Most importantly, their people are outstanding in their workmanship. If you are planning a home renovation project, you absolutely need to consult with these folks before making your final decision. You cannot go wrong with selecting this company for your project. (I have no financial interest in Remodel Specialists.)

Met with the owner "Jim" after finding his company on Angie's List and told him my wife and I plans to upgrade and change our bath room, master closet, and kitchen area. Jim was extremely helpful and clearly stays involved with his customers making sure we were satisfied throughout the process. Jim assisted us in creating a plan of upgrading the areas we sought to change and helped in our selection of items needed to complete the upgrade keeping in mind our budget concerns. Throughout the process, his staff was very easy to work with and always showed interest in all we were seeking to accompish. His staff arrived on schedule each day and were very detailed in their work. It was a very pleasant experience which took out alot of the stress of making changes. Very professional service and company to work with meeting all of our needs. EXTREMELY SATISFIED!!

This work was Project 3 with Remodel Specialists. We selected hardwood about one year ago and planned to do the work shortly after the other two projects. However, the project was delayed due to family issues. When we were finally ready to proceed. we found that the hardwood we had wanted was discontinued and not available from anyone. So we picked another hardwood. Jerry and Rosvin did exceptionally good work and completed the job sooner than estimated (two days vs three). The final product is a beautiful floor.
Description of Work: Remove existing carpet and discard. Prep floor. Install hardwood (about 400 sq ft) and trim.

The quality of the workmanship is excellent. The products used by Remodel Specialist is top notch. The owners, office staff, and project manager are responsive and will make sure that everything ends up just the way you want it. I needed help in picking what tile, back splash, and granite went well with each other. Their recommendations helped and the end product is just beautiful. The construction staff is friendly and polite. They send an e-mail each day to let you know what they have scheduled to be performed that day. Do's and don'ts: Do realize that a particular task scheduled may not be complete in one day or may be delayed because something else took priority. Do realize that if something is incomplete, it will be completed before the end of the project. Do realize that install means to put it into place. The actual hook up may be a day or two later as a different tradesman may be required to complete the task. Don't worry about the project. Jim, Lori, Sarah, and Nick will make sure everything will be done to your satisfaction. My husband is an engineer and I'm a CPA. We are very detailed oriented people and we are thrilled with how our project turned out. We will use Remodel Specialist for all future projects.

This was a lengthy job so I was not looking forward to having my home disturbed by workmen for weeks but the Remodel Specialists work crews were VERY careful to take care of our home's furnishings and flooring. And they carried out their jobs with minimal disruption to our family life. As the work progressed and our project came into focus, we were very pleased to see that the skill level of the tile men (especially Ruben and Ismael) and the granite man (Jose') was excellent. They seemed to care about how our bathrooms looked as much as we did. Whenever minor decisions had to be made about the tile, stacked rock, or granite, I asked them for suggestions and was amazed at their artistic vision as well as their technical knowledge. I quickly learned to trust their years of experience. This was a happy experience for us and a pleasure working with everyone: from the project planning with the owners, Jim and Lori Godre, all the way to the clean up crew at the end. The office assistant, Sarah, kept us informed by email each work day of what was going to be done that particular day which was very helpful when planning my schedule. Our project manager, Nic, was at our home very frequently overseeing everything and answering our questions on site. If there was a concern or worry the entire company roster seemed eager to help us. It was reassuring to have so much professional attention given to the project and to us. We couldn't be happier with the results - a stunning one-of-a-kind master bath!
Description of Work: Remodel Specialists almost completely remodeled our 16 year-old master bath in our custom-built home. In addition, we had them partially remodeled a second bathroom with a new granite vanity and sink and added some tile to the shower. In the master bath, we asked Remodel Specialists to take out and rebuild and re-tile our extra large shower, replace the whirlpool tub with a new soaker tub and add granite and tile surrounds, replace the old toilet, put in new granite vanity tops, replace 2 sinks, paint, and do extensive tile and granite work around the entire room. A custom-made shower door was also beautifully done by Creative Shower Doors. Remodel Specialists' owner, Jim Godre, made an unusual suggestion that turned out brilliantly: he suggested that the exterior walls on the shower be rebuilt using stacked quartzite rock! (The interior of the shower was tile.) Our bathroom now has the look of a spa-like outdoor garden. It's breathtaking!

They failed to take good notes on what work was to be performed during the initial visit, so it took a bit of back and forth a couple weeks later via email to get their estimate to reflect the work scope correctly. Their demo crew that removed the small ammount of tile around the toilets and removed the toilets did a good job. The leveling crew did an ok job as there were a couple of compound splashes on the trim work that had to be painted over. The first tile crew did an excellent job setting the master bath tile; couldn't have been done better. The second crew that set the secondary bath, utility closet and grouted all of the tile did an ok job. He used the wrong size trowel (too large), left a wide grout line at the back of the utility closet wall and was a bit sloppy with the grout in the wall corners. The plumbing crew that reset the toilets did a good job at that, but miserably failed when replacing the tub skirt. They left large unsealed gaps on the sides and didn't secure the bottom edge and tried to play it off as job done as they were walking out the door. I had to do that task myself. The largest complaint was the work timing. It took four days to complete the work and cost me an extra vacation day for what should have been a three day max job (demo/level, set tile, grout/clean up) as they showed up after 9a and only worked 4 to 5 hours. For the price they charged the job could have been handled better.
Description of Work: Leveled floor, lifted and reset toilets, installed tile in two bathrooms.

They are always good. We are repeat customers of them because they are always on time and always reliable. Their prices are good. They are so professional and wonderful. They have got this shower technique that it will never leak or anything. It is just wonderful. We saved enough money to have all our floors renovated. They are going to start working on that on Monday so we are excited. They have got such an integrity. It is just amazing and I love it.

Very punctual and nice team to work with. Lori and Sarah at the office were always very quick to answer any questions/concerns. We got an itinerary email at the beginning of each day except the first day. Everyone at this company was extremely nice, and were very professional when it came to stepping up to solve issues or address concerns. The end result was good. We also did get a nice phone call directly from the owner at the end of the project wanting to make sure we were satisfied. I would definitely recommend this company to friends.

There were good things and bad. They did some beautiful work. There were some communication issues where they would say they would take care of that and then they wouldn't. I don't think that they were lying, I think the would just say what would come to mind in the conversation. There were 2 or 3 times where the project manager would say he would be out the next day and we would stay home all day and he wouldn't show up. They were very apologetic and they would say this day we'll come and sometimes they would and sometimes they wouldn't. The owner and the foreman were very knowledgeable and had a vision. They would help me with what would be good for the master bathroom, what would be good for resale, what would be good for mature adults. He was very gracious and very well spoken. He was so knowledgeable. He did a lovely idea on getting the place of the bathroom. The place where he fell down was the lack of communication. He didn't follow up. We went 3 weeks from the time we signed the contract and said we were ready to go and he said we have to order the pieces but we will let you know when they come in. I got so frustrated because I chose this time for a specific reason. My mother, who is 90 years old was out of town and I wanted it taken care of before she got home. They didn't start until the day before she got home. There was always, always, always a lack of communication. I asked them about the toilet and they said to go to Lowe's and pick one out. In the contract, it said that they were going to provide one. They did not complete any project completely. When they painted, they took down the towel bars and toilet paper holder. They have not replaced any of them. I still to this day do not have towel bars. They did not put the face plates back over the light switches. They threw away the face plates so there are no face plates on the light switches. They tore out the wall by the shower and put in a beautiful piece of wood next to the master sink. When I opened that new cupboard, it was not painted inside. The sawdust from where they drilled into it for the wires were still in the cupboard. I pointed things out when they came for the walk through they still didn't take care of it. If I had to do it again, I would write things down. Some of their workmen were really good. The tile man was very, very talented. But at the end of the day my bathroom is still not finished. Even the toilet they put a shim on one side but not the other. I had to call them back out for the toilet install. The owner is a very charming man, all of the workers were impeccably polite, but there was just no follow through.
Description of Work: We just used Remodel Specialists. They finished up about 2 or 3 weeks ago remodeling a master bathroom.

This project was our second with Remodel Specialists. We visited the showroom and met with Jim and Lori who helped us select the tile. Actually, a sample layout was just what we wanted so the choice was easy. Jim and Lori were very patient with us as the project was delayed a few times due to family issues. When we were ready, the project was scheduled quickly. The crew did a good job with the installation and finished the work in a timely fashion. We have found that the staff is skilled at their respective crafts. Ismael, Clemente, Javier, Brandon, Tino, John, Jerry, and Danny all did a fine job. Not only is the staff skilled but they are genuinely good people who demonstrate high integrity. Nic was very effective again as the project manager. We especially appreciate Nic's attention to details and patience with getting the job done right. The finished product is a beautiful bathroom.

It has been a pleasure working with Jim and his staff from our concept/quote phase through (near) completion. We have never had to worry about a lack of communication from the office, and we were given daily update emails from Sarah as the work was being completed. They have been incredibly flexible and understanding in scheduling our project as my husband wanted to do as much of the work himself as possible to save on overall costs. Lori and Sarah did a great job keeping our invoice updated as we changed our minds a few times and provided some of our own materials. I should also mention that our initial, overall quote has only decreased since starting the project, and any line item increases that occurred were explained to us and noted on the invoice. The quality of the concrete, plumbing, and tiling work is impressive. Brandon worked efficiently to have our drains relocated and shower trim/supply installed. Reuben and Ismael were meticulous with the shower membrane and both the shower and floor tiling. I was usually at home when they were working, and they didn't mind me popping in to see how it was progressing. I never had reason to question their experience level or professionalism, and they were all pleasant to interact with. All of the work has held up to our severe scrutiny, and we are so pleased with the results! We definitely know who we'll be calling for our next big project!
Description of Work: Built a custom-designed shower from the ground up and installed tile flooring. They will be installing a bath tub as well, but this had not been completed at the time of the review (due to our constraints, not theirs.)

Excellent quality of work on all counts. There was a little miscommunication initially on a couple of things, but was worked out pretty quickly. They have a showroom to purchase most any materials needed, however I purchased most of my materials outside of the showroom at various places. I liked that you were given a detailed quote and a daily email for that days schedule. I have used them again recently to repaint and wallpaper the master bedroom, add additional crown moulding and baseboards. Again excellent quality of work and care in keeping floor and furniture protected. The workers are very polite and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them for any remodeling needs.

UPDDATED MARCH 2014: Attempted to contact them 3 times via email and phone in February and have never received a return phone call for warranty work. Our paint on new kitchen cabinet doors is all cracking and the pull out underneath the kitchen sink fell apart (it was glued together). It started out well, didn't end well. We've used them before so we fully trusted they would do an excellent job. First issue was I told them I wanted to keep my faucets that they were removing - they threw away all parts except for the faucet itself (guest bath). Next, they removed our faucet for the 1/2 bath and did not seal off the pea trap - try smelling the stench of that for the next several weeks. Which then caused the water to drip, ruining the bottom of the cabinet - causing them to have to replace it. Next issue was we asked them to install bathroom fans in our guest and master baths. They tried to get away with running dryer vent up to the holes and just shoving dryer venting up to the holes using duct tape to the rafters. One of them wasn't even taped - it was just shoved into the hole in the roof. To properly install a bathroom fan to vent, one must first use vent pipe for most of the distance and then flexible venting to exit the attic to the roof and be securely attached with metal strap and screws and duct tape - not done. They still used flex venting and duct tape. We did not ask them to make granite window sills, but it was a nice touch to the guest and 1/2 baths as we purchased remnants from his shop. Then when they got to our master bath after installing the cabinets, (they didn't bother to tell us this before the install) they didn't have enough material to NOT HAVE A SEAM IN THE COUNTERTOP. We absolutely DID NOT want a seam - we told Jim this at his shop before the project started. So he talked my husband into letting them install it anyway. I tried to get my husband past the anger by asking Jim to install crown moulding in our master bedroom to make up for the mistake of them not informing us - and he did agree to to that. We still don't like it as where the seam is, one side is lighter than the other - just looks crappy. We I will post a picture showing the granite we chose was plenty big enough as our master bath is pretty small (and Jim said it was large enough when we picked it out). They also told us that they would install a granite windowsill in the toilet room - didn't happen as they said they did not have any more material. I was told that they would be doing it - then his wife sends me an email the next day saying they don't have any material remaining - so Jim was not being truthful. You do not say you're going to do something without making sure you can do it. They have 2 really good guys that work for them and communicate things to the customer: Lui and Richard. Our mirror in our master bath needed to be really big and I just wanted a basic frame so I asked them to do it. Well, the wall was not floated properly when they installed the mirror so the frame bowed out at the bottom. Here was the cause: the issue wasn't about us not liking the frame, it was about the way they floated the wall after moving the plumbing. 2. They moved the plumbing over which caused them to remove sheetrock. 3. Then they put the same sheetrock "pieces" back up (vertically, not horizontally). 4. Therefore, the wall did not get floated evenly, therefore causing the wall to bow in the center, thereby not being able to build a frame around it. 5. Last but not least, the mirror is not level / crooked. Then they came back the next day to remove our mirror and broke it. They did replace it and had to redo that wall properly. There are too many problems to list here that just go on and on but I will continue to list the worst, but not in any particular order. 1. new cabinets were scrached in several places 2. a couple of the new drawers do not slide smoothly. 3. they were very sloppy about cleaning up, left nails everywhere, did not clean the granite or polish it - still has residue on the ones in the 1/2 bath and master bath, floors were not vacuumed up hardly. 3. Couple of the doors do not close flat against cabinet (they said that was the best they could do. 4. did not clean up the cabinets inside or out - I had to wipe them all down and vacuum the inside of the drawers. 5. They left all the paint cans on my patio - funny they didn't have a problem getting them out of my garage, but would not put them back. 6. You are assigned a project manager - yes we had one, but was he around? Did he inspect their work? Did he find the issues? Bottom line is: My husband and I were the project managers. We had to spend our time inspecting their work and having them correct all that was wrong. On Friday, May 17th, my husband told them that he wanted Jim to come inspect their work. He came, didn't seem at all interested in the project, just interested in getting his check. Project manager came as well, was in the attic with my husband and Jim, because we found a vent pipe that was suppose to have been removed from their previous job on our kitchen. We also found a broken roof joist and when it broke, it fell on our a/c duct work, busting the metal strap and slightly damaging the duct. We had them repair that same day. Then the project manager stepped right through the ceiling in our attic, going all the way through. Of course they had to fix that on 5/17 as well....BECAUSE THEY WANTED THEIR FINAL CHECK! Then my husband found a chip in our outside shower wall that wasn't there before, Guess they thought we wouldn't notice. The most aggravating thing is when they do something wrong, they don't tell you about it. You have to find out for yourself. We have had enough of this and just left their check today. We have rekeyed our home as well.

Remodel Specialists listened to all of our wishes and worked through all of our in-process changes without issue. They are experienced craftsmen. Only downside was that they didn't provide plan drawings or documentation of our selections. A few times we needed to revisit what the choices had been.
Description of Work: Jim and crew are truly professionals. The painting, tiling work, cabinetry and granite fabrication work were all done with precision and to our satisfaction. Our master bath remodel consisted of removal of all fixtures, floors, cabinets and built-in shower. They rebuilt everything and the end result was beyond our highest expectations. I'm not sure which is their strongest skill ... tiling, painting or granite manufacture.

Called and scheduled an appt and they were prompt on providing an estimate. The cost was way out of my budget so I investigated materials costs. They had a mark up of $5000 compared to Home Depot material costs. I was amazed. Also suprised that they didn't call back to see if I got the estimate or had questions. Guess they are busy enough that they didn't need my business.

We finally got our act together and set our start date as the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. I wanted everything removed from the house during the renovations and I wanted to be the one to pack up our items?even though ?the guys? would have taken care of it. The demo went great and we didn't have any horrid black mold behind our ancient t just a little discoloration. The framing of the shower went really quickly and it was great fun to come home each day and see what progress had been made. Be prepared for Jim?s whirlwind of thoughts as you work through how things should be ?put together??I was a little perplexed once we finished ?designing? my closet and actually had no idea what it would be like?I love it but truly it was a matter of trust to say ?OK? after he explained what would go where. Maybe the most fun of the design process was working with Rueben the master tile guy-- he's amazing and he instantly "got" what I wanted and created the design-- cutting each tile to order. See photos? I think one of the hardest decisions was selecting the granite-- Jim met us at Lackstone. We walked the yard with him and selected 3 choices... then went back several times to insure that we were happy with our pick. Of course as with everything else-- we upgraded...not at Jim's urging but because we wanted the next level of product. This is not a "cut the corners" job-- we selected the best person for the job and we used the best materials available-- and our granite couldn't be more beautiful. They even made us a cutting board out of the piece that was removed for the sink. AND the process of selecting where the cuts go is great?we went to their workshop and they cut out the pattern of the shower bench and counter tops from a light wood and then we got to move the patterns around to insure that the most beautiful part of the granite is used. The cutting and shaping is all done at Remodel Specialist?everything was in-house with the exception of the materials and the glass shower wall. We had a couple of set backs-- waiting for materials, medical and family issues, Christmas-- but Jim and his team worked with us to solve each thing. They are so easy to work with? Cabinets were constructed at the shop and are exactly what I wanted. Shower heads, sink and toilet were all purchased at Moore Supply and the ladies there were great to work with and obviously have a really great relationship with Jim and Lori. That's the other thing you will notice about working with them-- they have established a network of great people who help solve problems and find exactly what the client wants. Our shower glass was installed by Paul Howell-- another master craftsmen and friend of the Godres. RS Team also installed a glass brick window that may be my most favorite feature?finally we have natural light in our bathroom. Jerry Godre, Jim?s brother, and his team installed the flooring in the living room and hallway after bags and bags of leveler-- our old house had extremely wavy floors but it looked so great once it was done that we added the kitchen floor to the order....Jim wasn't sure that wood in the kitchen was a good idea but again he let the client prevail after voicing his concern.-- The bathroom tile work was so beautiful we added a backsplash in the kitchen-- we had remodeled our kitchen a few years ago but could never decide on the backsplash until we saw Rueben's handiwork.. In the living room, we also had a large shelf and cabinet built for the living room and when it was first installed it was a little overwhelming. I thought it was just getting use to a 9 foot piece of furniture but when Jim heard me say this-- he immediately came out to the house and said-- we need a do-over. The results were stunning. I guess the only extra feature we said no to was the library ladder but that may be added yet. I think the hardest part is at the end-- when little adjustments are being made and there are no more dramatic changes-- I guess a bit of remodel fatigue is to be expected, especially after such a large job-- but right around Easter everything was done. Again-- it is stunning... we love every thing about it and could not be happier. I would do it all over again and wouldn?t change a thing?except I?m glad that it is all done and there is no need to start again!!
Description of Work: We have been planning the remodel of our bath and master bedroom—and finally when we were ready to move forward we joined Angie’s list to help us select the remodeler. There were several remodelers to choose from and I appreciated the detailed reviews that people submitted. I began to focus on remodelers that worked on older homes and those with only A ratings. That’s how I decided on Remodel Specialist as our first call. The owner, Jim Godre, came one morning to see what we planned to do-- and to discuss our options. The house was built in the 70s and we hated the bathroom so we basically wanted it taken down to the studs and re-built with a walk-in shower and the addition of a glass brick window—with a kitchen sink as the focal point and I wanted the colors to be black & white. I pretty much knew how I wanted it to look and Jim knew how he was going to make it happen. Jim stayed and chatted awhile about his business plan and philosophy. We liked him a lot. I can't remember how long it was before we got the bid-- but it was very detailed and it had several pricing options. We reviewed the bid and felt that it was on the high end but fair-- so we made an appointment to meet with Jim and Lori Godre and to discuss our plan. One of the first questions Jim asked was-- what were our other bids?-- I admitted that we hadn't bothered with other bids because we wanted to work with him. We realized that he'd be a little more expensive but his reviews and his personality and business model convinced us that he was the one. We reviewed the bid and decided to start the process with having our office/guest room painted and the wood flooring put in-- we were having a Murphy bed and built in desk and shelves installed by More Space and wanted to replace the carpeting with flooring. The paint job was excellent and the flooring was perfect. So perfect that we added wood flooring throughout the house to the order—this was the beginning of a trend… we found that rather than taking things out of the bid we were constantly adding items. Before the rest of the house’s remodel was to begin we needed to find the materials for the bathroom-- I knew I wanted it all in black and white. Lori gave me a list of tile companies in The Woodlands area to visit. She knew what I was looking for and was concerned that the surface was going to be too slippery but I convinced her that I wasn't changing my mind. That's what I love about the Godres-- they are upfront about their opinions but they will do everything possible to create the "vision" that the homeowner has. It took me several months to decide on the tile-- it was a very slow process on my part and they were very understanding and extremely helpful. My centerpiece of the bathroom was a little weird too-- I had selected a kitchen sink in a taupe color and I wanted our cabinets to be kitchen counter height. Jim thought it was a little bizarre but I think he warmed to the idea and enjoyed telling his other clients about his crazy clients with the kitchen sink in the bathroom. I think that is one of the best part about working with everyone on their team-- they are happy people and they are great fun. Also-- the people who work for Remodel Specialist are on their payroll-- they are not sub-contractors and I think they have all been with the company for five or more years. It is a good feeling to know that they are paid well and have a secure job-- we never once felt anything but total trust for each of the workers. Plus everal of the workers are family members-- Sarah , the niece, sends daily updates and is in constant communication with the workers and the clients. Nic was our project manager and he happens to be Jim & Lori's son-- he made great suggestions on some of our design decisions-- we really valued his input. The only down side to the whole operation was that our animals (2 dogs and a cat) had to be closed off in the middle bedroom-- the last room to be painted and floored. It was pretty h****** them to be locked up on a daily basis. But after a while the guys would let them out when whatever what they were doing on the house didn't put the dogs at risk. I’m going to let the photos tell the remainder of the story. Dos: Do hire them. Do expect it to take longer than you think. Do speak up when something isn’t quite right. Do stay involved. Do ask for Rueben to do your tile. Do follow Rueben’s suggestion. Do take your time. Do create a “punch list” towards the end—it helps them to know what you think still needs to be done.

JIm Godre and his Remodel Specialists team were a pleasure to work with. Jim provided us with a very detailed estimate including every step involved in replacing the countertops and backsplash. My husband is a big "Do It Yourself" guy so this allowed us to eliminate steps that he wanted to complete himself such as the demolition of the existing countertops and installation of the backsplash tile. Jim was very easy to work with and we were pleased with the estimate. After a few trips to the granite yard we made our selection and they brought the granite to their own facility for cutting. Sarah and Lori in the office kept us updated through email. The installation of the countertops only took one day. On the second day, they sent a plumber to install the sink, faucet and garbage disposal, as well as prepared the backsplash wall so that we could tile it. All of the crew members were courteous, polite and friendly. The countertops look great! We would definitely use Remodel Specialists again and would recommend them to others

We had been planning this remodel for several months prior to contacting Remodel Specialists and had plans developed by a kitchen designer; however we were stalled because the bids from the contractors that the designer recommended were coming in $20,000 to $30,000 more than we wanted to spend. That is when we started our subscription to Angies Lists and found Remodel Specialists. We discussed our budget with Jim Godre and he was able to commit to giving us the kitchen that we had designed for a price that was well within our budget. As usual there were a few unexpected expenses; specifically, the need for a new electrical panel to allow us to split the appliances onto separate circuits but he recommended an electrician who was able to do that as well. Overall the job went much smoother than I had feared. The Remodel Specialists crew was for the most part very competent and worked well without a whole lot of supervision. We knew that we were going to have a struggle picking out things like granite and tile flooring and backsplash, but Jim guided us through that process and made recommendations that got us over those humps much easier than we anticipated. I can truly say that Remodel Specialists will go the extra mile to make sure the customer is satisfied. They stuck to their estimate even when there were problems which required some work to be redone. It has been two years and we are still love our kitchen. There have been no problems that have required them to come back and fix. I would recommend them to others and will definitely call them back for other remodeling projects.
Description of Work: Demolished the old kitchen cabinets and remove old appliances. Install new tile in kitchen and utility room, new custom cabinets, granite countertops and lighting. Installed new appliances with gas cooktop. Paint and stain existing wainscotting to match new cabinets.

Jim, Nic (Godre) and Team did a fantastic and professional job. Jim came out to give estimates and my wife told me he was quick. He got back with an estimate a week later. We liked the quote he provided since other providers were much more expensive. His estimate was a line by line breakdown of what he was charging and why, which i thought to be a very transparent way to do business. We visited his showroom where he gave us a detailed walk through of the statement of work telling us how . His showroom is a good one stop shop if you don't have much time to shop around other outlets for materials and such.We agreed to source everything from Jim. Of course you can find the same bathroom fittings for much cheaper price but then you'd have to take resposnbililty of manufacture defects and we did not have time for that.Although, you could save at least a $1K by getting the fittings yourself. Once the deposit was given and Jim promised a date of commencement he stuck to his promises. Workers who showed up were courteous and professional at the same time. I want to especially thank Nic Godre who project managers the work for his creative ideas and willingness to brainstorm potential solutions. Since we got the work done during the holidays it was easy for me to be at home while the workers were doing their thing, this really helped giving them real time feedback as and when they had any questions regarding the design. Would recommend that one of you are available who can provide quick answers to the questions the workers might have. The estimate that Jim provided was accurate to the T. This really helped us be on budget with minimum surprises. Thank You Jim , NIc and team for all your help to make this project successful!

Jim came out quickly for a estimate and it was very accurate. We met again to review and "tweak" the budget and was easy to work with. Jim then turns it over to a Forman and that was the last I heard from or saw Jim. Only my opinion but I blive at a minimum he should call when the job is complete to solicit comments etc. The crew were very professional. Supposedly they have meetings at the beginning of the week to discuss the project. The reason for the overall "B" rating revolves around this issue. If I (the home owner) were not there would have been a lot of errors as the left hand did not seem to know what the right hand was doing. There were several times that granite had to be re-cut, and times when they were supposed to arrive but did not. I had them order a faucet and when their plumber arrived with it, it was chrome not nickel (QC - since it was a special order shouldn't they have checked before sending it out with the plumber?) They did order a replacement and it quickly arrived. They just need to be better organized and operate tighter as a team. I remember a movie called "Cool Hand Luke" and the famous line was "What we have here is a failure to communicate. In the end it was a little frustrating, but as it compares to other contractors they did a good job. The end result is excellent and I am very pleased. Yes, I would use them again, but I would attend the Monday project meeting with them!

The estmator arrived on time, and conducted himself in a professional manner. However, I felt as though be believed that the job, and my home, were a waste of this company?s time. I never received an estimate or response from this company. A simple reply from them should have been on the order of, ? Thank you for your remodeling request. However, we regret that due to the volume of contracts at this time, we will be unable to provide the remodeling services. We would be happy to recommend other qualified contractors in your area.? I am sure they are one of the best in the business, but a less arrogance would go quite a ways. Just because I have a smaller home, and the decor in my home is a bit eclectic, or possibly eccentric, does not mean I do not have the necessary funds for a job. Therefore, I would only recommend this company to clients that have large, expensive homes, or a large, expensive budget.
