About us
We are a kitchens and bathrooms company. We specialize in custom showers, custom cabinets and counter tops. We staff high end professionals and use sub contractors only when necessary. We also give a very detailed estimate, action oriented so you only pay for the work preformed and gives control to the homeowner.
My experience with them so far is very pleasurable and excellent. The work they have been doing is excellent. I have no regrets. I’m pleased with them. They show up when they say they are going to show up. They have done detailed work. They did refinishing, woodwork, and painting work. The work they have done in the last three days is really god. They clean up significantly. They don’t leave any mess behind. They are very careful in what they do. They have done some stuff that would have been really tough to do. They handled it nicely. They have not left anything undone. They have taken care of everything. They have done what they said they were going to do. They responded to any changes and additions which I had without any difficulty. The work they have done is excellent. It’s worth paying them because they have done quality work so far. They are excellent. I would recommend them to everyone. I would use the in the future.
Description of Work: I’m using Remodel Specialists. They are working for me now. They are putting granite countertops in the kitchen. They repainted the kitchen, living room, dining room, and entry way. They refinished the kitchen cabinets. They also did the backsplash re-tile work.
We were going to be spending a lot of money on a project that we never want to have to do again so it was important that we picked the right company. We received three bids for this project and this company was the middle one. From the first time we met Jim he was professional and helpful with various ideas about the layout and materials to use. The bid was itemized so there were no surprises and we could adjust where we needed to. After the decision to use this company was made, we sat down with Jim and went over all the various choices for tile, sink, etc. Jim went with me to the bathtub store and the granite yard to help me pick out what would go best with the other choices we had made. Once work began, my husband would get a phone call every morning to let us know what was going to be completed that day and to find out if we were satisfied with what was done the previous day. Overall, the bathroom came out better than we could have hoped for and I feel like I'm walking into a spa when I get home from work. The cabinets were custome made, the granite is beautiful and the shower is just amazing. Things went so well that two months later we had them redo our upstairs bathroom. This wasn't quite as extensive as the master bath but went just as well. My husband asked them to trim the shower with the same tile as the floor and when it was done I didn't like it at all, no fault of the installer, just the tile choice. When the master tiler came over to inspect the work, he said they were going to redo it because he didn't like it either! It's rare to find a company so professional and nice.
Description of Work: The entire master bathroom was gutted to the studs. Jim made suggestions to us about the layout, knocked down walls and rebuilt the shower, cabinets, countertop, bathtub and floors.

EXTREMELY WELL. surpassed every inspection. the shower glass installer were amazed at how leveled and plummed our shower was. every glass guys i had come through said "we've NEVER seen anything this leveled or plummed in our life"
Description of Work: Jim Godre is the ONLY person i'd ever use for anything in my home. i interviewed 35 remodelers and contractors. we went with him not because he was the cheapest, but because he was the ONLY one who gave me a detailed contract down to every penny of the work materials and labor involved. That means we knew exactly where our costs would be, no guess work. His crew worked hard and were very thorough. they kept our house cleaned at the end of EVERY DAY. we had our masterbath redone, and since then, the only thing i had to do was to spray tilex on occasion to clean off surface mildew. their commercial grade grout kept our shower and bath looking new, even after 4 years with VERY LITTLE mantenance! they also replaced all our windows to simonton double hung, double paned argon gas filled windows. couldn't be happier! the only criticism i'd have is the window guys. they rushed and left our interior window ledges pretty banged up. To be fair, they are a separate entity from Jim's crew and business. they were referred, but not partners i don't think.
Jim Godre came out to the house to assess what we wanted and provided a detailed estimate by email. Each item was estimated separately so that we could easily choose what we wanted to do. I very much appreciated this approach. After a trip to his showroom and a granite yard, we made final decisions regarding what we liked and based on our budget. Jim, his wife and their son helped me decide on materials and were very concerned about giving us what we wanted, but at the same time, gave me ideas on what worked together. So far the cabinets have been refinished beautifully and the sunroom floor installed perfectly. All of the workers have been extremely professional, friendly, and concerned about taking care of my belongings as they worked. They have been diligent about following my instructions when I have had to leave the house. The workers that I have talked to are long-term employees or contractors that really like working there. Usually that makes a big difference in the quality of work that you receive. Jim seems to expect a lot from his workers and they deliver. So far, I am glad that we chose Remodel Specialists and am completely confident that the remainder of the work will be the same excellent quality. Will update as work progresses. Report update from March 20,2011 All work was completed with excellent quality. Workers were all very professional, extremely competent, and very quality oriented. We are very pleased with the outcome. About midway through project, however, project manager dropped the ball and I had to spend more time than I wanted or expected to keep things going. Owner, Jim, stepped in and got things back on track. They even fixed a couple of things for free that a previous contractor had messed up. All in all, a good experience.
Description of Work: They are in the process of refinishing all cabinets in the kitchen and 2-1/2 bathrooms and adding knobs and pulls (44 doors and drawers); replacing kitchen and 2 bathroom countertops with granite, including sinks and fixtures; installing tile backsplash in kitchen; replacing fixtures only in one of the bathrooms; replacing master bath tile floor and shower walls; painting master bath walls; replacing 2 lighting fixtures in master bath; installing new commercial grade vinyl flooring in sunroom.
We first contacted Jim in Oct 2010, Remodel Specialist was selected solely based on the reports from Angie's List. My mother, who is 81 years old, wanted to have her kitchen and master bathroom remodeled. Jim came out and listened to her wish list. Although she wanted to do the remodel, given her age and being a product of the depression era and that my father had died recently and he would have never spent the money to remodel, she found it very overwhelming and hard to make decisions. Jim was wonderful. He recognized the situation and he sincerely interacted with her as though he was a loving son helping his mother in helping her make decisions. He would offer suggestions, lay out the pro;s and con's and let her make the decision. He never once tried to pressure her or get her to expand the project for his benefit; he actually did the opposite. There was a suggestion I had made and he told us honestly why he would not do it but said he could certainly do it if we wanted to. Mom could not decide whether to do the master bathroom first or the kitchen first; actually she just flat wrestled with was it excessive to remodel something just because it was old; after all it is a lot of money. October became November which became December. Jim did follow up with us but never in a pressuring way. In December, she decided it was too close to the holidays and the anniversary of my father's death, so she wanted to wait until Spring of next year. I communicated this to Jim and Lori and they were genuinely very understanding; wished us a happy holiday season. In mid January, she suprised everyone by saying she wanted to start the kitchen remodel. I contacted Jim and since she wanted to add some items to the remodel, Jim came back out to the house and we reviewed the job details. He got the revised bid to us very quickly. Their estimate is very detailed and it makes it easy to understand the components and cost associated with each component that make up the total bid. Their estimate process is so complete that the only changes were additions we made or upgrades we made when we selected components that were previously estimated based on the average product selected. The work began within two weeks of signing the contract/bid. It was an amazing experience, in a wonderful way. The first day the crew got there to demo the kitchen, I went into work late so I could be there, so that I could answer questions they might have and so my Mom would not be stressed. She is very hard of hearing and would not hear or be able to answer certain questions. During the initial discussion/review of what was suppose to be demo'd etc, our dog got out of the yard. When I realized she got out, the entire crew went out with me to call/find the dog. One of the guys found her the next block over and he walked her home. It wasn't even their fault that she got out and they helped us find her...amazing. I went to work knowing Mom was comfortable with them being there. As important as the quality of workmanship is, it was equally important to me that my 81 year old mother feel safe and comfortable. That was NEVER a concern. That very first day and many days to come, when the crew went out to lunch, they would ask Mom is they could bring her something back. She really appreciated that. Because of her bad hearing, I would leave the door unlocked for them to enter the house. One morning the crew could not get into the house because the door was locked. They rang the bell many times, called the house phone and Mom did not answer. The dog was barking a lot and she has a loud piercing bark. The guys were concerned that Mom was not answering or hearing all the noise so they called the office who in turned called me. The emphasis of their call to me was more on the fact that Mom wasn't responding than they could not get in. This company, and I mean every person I came in contact with, is truely exceptional. Not just in the quality of the work they do with respect to their craft, but they are good, honest, considerate, kind, trustworthy people. I can honestly say I never had any concern about the qualtiy of the job being performed or the safety and welfare of my Mom. Knowing how difficult it was for Mom to make decisions, Jim personally accompanied us to the granite yard to select the counter tops. It's a large lot and she walks slowly and her being indecisive, it took awhile, but he never acted impatient or frustrated; he was wonderful. Having him there was very reassuring for her. There wasn't a selection to be made when Jim and/or Jim and Lori didn't help Mom work through the process. They will tell you the truth. There were times when Mom was leaning towards something that cost more than she needed to spend and they would tell her and steer her toward an alternative product that would accomplish the same look etc for less. There were times when Mom would lean towards an inferior choice and they would explain to her why she should consider another option. The bottom line is you do not have to worry about them trying to sell you something that you don't need or is too much; you may decide you want to purchase it anyway; but it won't be because they deceived you. The appliance guy they sent us to was just as honest and fair as they are. Mom liked the looks of one of the gas cooktops and he flat out told her that unless she is a gourmet cook, she doesn't need to spend that much and he redirected her attention to an attractive alternative that she ended up buying. He could have easily made more money by allowing her to over buy but he didn't; and that is a reoccuring trait found in all the people Jim is associated with. The flooring we picked, when it was delivered and their tile man came out to start laying the flooring, he noticed the tiles didn't look right. Truthfully, because the tile we picked was a blend of multiple colors, we were surpised there was so much color varience but we did not know it was wrong. The tile man called Jim who called me and told me they needed to hold off laying the tile until he could get to the bottom of this. Jim called the next day; told me the tile was bad and he offerred to go by the house (Mom doesn't drive) with some options for Mom to look at and pick something different. He brought four different options to the house; Mom selected her favorite; she asked Jim what was his favorite and then they sent me email links where I could view the tiles online without having to wait until the end of the day for me to vote. By ten o'clock in the morning, the replacement tile was selected and ordered. Truthfully, we like the second tile better than the first; and all because their tile man was consciencous enough to not lay what he suspected was defective but instead delayed the job by questioning whether the tile was defective. God Bless Him! The job is finished and we love it. It took six weeks in total. There was never a day when we did not see progress and there was never a day when we wondered "where are they". Every day the crew worked quietly and without disrupting you, as much as is reasonable possible. They clean up at the end of each day; and done well I might add. There is no such thing as an unwelcomed question. It was the painter who was at my house and I had a question about something electrical; he gladly took my question and spoke to the job foreman who got back to me almost immediately. A question asked is answered and timely. The bottom line truth is Remodel Specialists are what they say they are on their business card: "Do what you say you're going to do. Only say what you know you can do. Communicate what you are doing. Do your best while you're doing it." When I thanked Jim & Lori for the job they did, I told them they belong in a category, if such exists, of corporate sainthood. THEY ARE THE VERY BEST!
Description of Work: We had our 40 year old kitchen, utility room and powder room remodeled. The flooring was removed and replaced with porcelain tile, the counter tops were removed and replaced with granite counter tops, the oven, cooktop, vent hood, microwave and sink and faucet were removed and replaced. The cooktop was converted to gas. The old custom made kitchen cabinets were refurbished and refinished. Reconfiguation of one area of the kitchen cabinetry and utility room cabinetry was done and custom made mew cabinets were added to the existing cabinets. All rooms were painted; ceilings, doors and walls.

Oh, my...where do I begin.....I contacted Jim Godre at Remodel Specialists after reading reviews on Angie's List to bid on remodeling 2 bathrooms. He came out to the house, listened intently to what work I planned to do and got back with me fairly quickly with a bid for the work. As I had been burned badly on a kitchen remodel last year by a company that totally misrepresented themselves, I was pretty reluctant to begin the contractor/client relationship again with anyone. After talking with and checking the references from the other two other bidders it became obvious that Remodel Specialists was going to be my contractor for the bathrooms. The work began on time and was completed in record time, in spite of the ongoing work being done on the City of Shenandoah roads/streets which prevented the staff from entering the area on several different occasions. Jim, Lori and the whole staff of experts who worked on the two bathroom projects were very professional, very clean and neat, courteous, fun to work with, and the work done was of the finest quality. They built me 2 vanities and 2 vanity towers for the bathrooms that are absolutely marvelous. The new shower stall is equally as beautiful and the help they gave me in picking out the tile, wall colors and all the other little things was greatly appreciated. They even suggested a better color and piece of granite for the 2nd bath than the one I had picked out and it turned out absolutely beautiful. All-in-all, Remodel Specialists were the professionals they represented themselves to be. The price was very competitive and the quality was exceptional. They will be my contractors for future projects on my home and I have recommended them to several of my friends for their remodelling projects.

From start to finish, all phases were very professional with this family owned & operated business. The bid (sent via email with company letter head) was reasonable; the cost was basically in the middle of other companies I interviewed for the job. The workers showed up on time, were neat & worked efficiently, laid down large sheets of material to protect the carpet & furniture which couldn't be moved and cleaned up nicely after the painting was done. The job was estimated at a day & a half & that's what it took. In all, a pleasant experience. It's no wonder they have received Angie's "Super Service Award" for the last couple of years. -- I already plan to call them in the near future for a bid on exterior wood work & painting of the residence.

Jim and the team are professionals. Tommy (individual that did most of the cabinet work) was a stand up individual. A very personable and good person to work with. I had to do some stereo and TV cable routing and he was very accomodating. We have a couple of warranty issues now that need addressing. Mainly this is related to the fact that we have a exposed the cabinet area backing to the attic and we get a cold draft into the house now. They have come out to inspect but not yet completed the work. Responsiveness and qualtiy will be updated again pending warranty work. I will update after we have the warranty work done. Warranty issues addressed appropriately! NOTE: When doing something like this consider how your insulation might change.
Description of Work: Removed an older built in entertainment system and provided a custom built to house flat screen TV, stereo components and video game console. Scope of work included installing the TV and articulating TV mount arm along with cabinet lighting, etc. Cabinet for the video game console actually included a pull out drawer with custom built arrangement to contain video games neatly.
They did a wonderful job and 6 months later I still love my shower. The shower did pose some obstacles as I wanted a number of features and quite a bit of research was required on the part of remodel specialists as to making everything work together which it did perfectly. There were a couple of occasions that I didn't want certain things quite how they placed them and it was quickly redone how I wanted it without a single question asked. I will definitely use them again if I have any additional work to be done!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Description of Work: Excellent Job! Remodel Specialists came and tore out and removed my old shower and replaced it to my EXACT specifications. Replaced my shower with new tile and marble with multiple shower heads (3) and body sprays (8) and using to large electric water valves to control temperature and flow rate through the various fixtures. Also added 4 lights to the ceiling of the shower as well as installed an access door in my closet (opposite my shower) in order to have access to the valves and piping fixtures of the shower in the future. I was so happy with the work on the access door that I had them also place several other doors on my closet shelves in order to close some areas. They also regrouted my bathroom floors and around my bathtub.

They were very professional and helpful. They asked me a lot of questions and gave me some things to think about. They said they would give me an estimate broken down into different parts. So, if I thought that one part was more expensive which didn?t fit into my budget, then I had options. I haven't seen the estimate yet but I think it would be very workable. They took the time to assure me that they were interested in having my work.

The whole project itself took a lot longer than I thought it would but that was due to my lack of knowledge of how much actually needed to be done. Overall I was very satisfied. My house was built in the 80s and the kitchen looks brand new. The workers were very professional and cooperative. I am considering refinishing the cabinets in my bathrooms and I will definitely use this company again for that project down the road. The manager, Jim Gorde was awesome and very helpful. He seemed to care more about making me happy than turning a profit. He was very reasonable. He even helped me with picking out the tile for my backsplash and it looks great.
Description of Work: I needed a shower stall area tiled and sealed and finished and a floor installed. Jim was professional and knowledgeable. I know I will have NO problem with my shower leaking. The price was more than I had expected, but I was not disappointed in the work or any of the people Jim used. He also had great ideas and suggestions for the tile choices etc.
Here are some things that set RS apart from other contractors we've used: 1) Communication: A project of this size requires constantly updated communication between the homeowner and contractor. Jim meets every morning with his entire team to keep everyone on the same page. He was always extremely accessible, and whenever we called with a question or concern, either Jim or his office team were back to us promptly (usually within the hour). And they all did an excellent job of communicating our wishes to the guys in the field. On the rare occasions when issues occurred, Jim addressed and resolved them immediately. 2) Advice/Patience: We started our project before making most of our materials choices and leaned on Jim pretty heavily for advice. Jim had strong and creative opinions when we asked for them (which we really needed to get started). We took our time making decisions and never felt rushed. And once our choices were made, they were acted on promptly. The crew was extremely courteous and respectful of us and our property and did an excellent job of cleaning up each night. 3) Extremely Detailed Bid: Most contractors lump so many items together that you can't really tell how much you're paying for each component, whereas Jim's estimate is the most detailed I've ever seen. RS shows the materials and labor component for EVERY SINGLE ACTION they perform. This approach gives the customer tremendous flexibility to add or delete components as their budget allows. Jim gives his customers complete flexibility on where they buy their materials, and you (not RS) capture the cost savings if you can find an item for less than your material allowance. Our porcelain floor tile was cheaper than our allowance so we got a $500 reduction in our final bill. Can you imagine that? Most other contractors that I've dealt with have kept the savings for themselves if materials were purchased at a discount to their bid. 4) Employees Work Only For RS: With the exception of a granite fabrication subcontractor that Jim uses, all of his other roughly 20 employees work exclusively for RS. This is a huge advantage in terms of seamless scheduling, because you are not constantly waiting on a key subcontractor that is committed to another contractor and delaying your job. As a result, we had zero "dead days" in our 4 week project, and most of the time, the guys also worked on Saturday. With only one boss to answer to, I also found Jim's crew to reflect his commitment to quality and detail, and to truly act like a team. It would not be uncommon for his painters to help out his carpenters, or for his plumbers to lend a hand with an appliance installation. So his team really took pride in the ENTIRE project. This rarely happens when subcontractors are used. Subs typically just care about their specific responsibility. So my recommendation is to cancel Angie's List because you won't need it anymore. Just hire RS and sit back and enjoy the results!
Description of Work: Scope of project: A complete kitchen makeover except for lighting. Replaced existing counter tops and backsplash with new granite top and a tumbled marble backsplash. Removed ceramic tile floor and installed new 20" porcelain tile with a diagonal layout. Refinished all cabinets and installed new hardware, installed new decorative posts on the center island, and refaced butler's pantry cabinet. Removed wallpaper and repainted all walls and baseboards. Installed all new stainless appliances and new ceramic cooktop (which were supplied by another company at an additional cost). My wife and I have lived in our home for 20 years and have probably hired about a dozen contractors for major jobs over the years. I am the ultimate perfectionist (most would say downright picky)! Because of this "attribute", I always solicit multiple bids for jobs, and still have rarely been happy enough with the final product to rehire the same contractor for future work. Well all of this changes now that we've found Jim Godre and his fantastic team at Remodel Specialists. Within two days of beginning our kitchen makeover with RS, I told my wife that I couldn't believe we were ever even considering the other two contractors we interviewed, and she agreed. RS did everything they promised and more. Jim delivered an outstanding final product at a very fair price. Normally, it's not a great negotiating tool to tell a contractor that he will be bidding against himself. But I have been so impressed with Jim's honesty and fairness that I don't mind admitting that in the future, I won't even be wasting my time with other bids. RS has earned ALL of our future remodeling and repair business. And if Jim doesn't have the expertise to do the work to his and my quality standards, I know he won't hesitate to steer us elsewhere.
all the workers were very professional. Work was done well. Supervisors helped with decision making and oversaw the work done.
Description of Work: Tore out wall, relocated toilet, tore out shower, re-tiled shower and floor, took & replaced countertop with granite, new sinks, build shelves for closet and painted it all.
After having a treetop come through our roof, the contractor we called to give us an estimate actually told us that due to the wide scope of repairs to be done, we should talk to Jim Godre of Remodel Specialists. The meeting was arranged and Jim was at our house 3 hours later. Within 2 days, he had emailed us a very detailed estimate of the work to be done. We knew from the first insurance estimate that we were going to have a fight on our hands to get a reasonable settlement out of the insurance company. Jim met with the insurance adjuster to review the differences in his estimate and theirs. He had done his homework and was very professional and we really feel he represented us as good as any attorney could have. Thanks to Jim a very fair agreement was made. We were so impressed with RS that we decided to have some extra things done that were not covered by insurance. We went to Remodel Specialists showroom to select flooring and discuss additional work such as granite countertops and new backsplash in the kitchen. Jim had some really good ideas on how to open up the kitchen for a more modern and spacious feel. Decisions were made and work was scheduled to begin a week later. The entire project took over 3 weeks, which is a long time when you are living in the construction area. Jim was very patient with us and the multiple revisions we made throughout the job. The employees of Remodel Specialists were extremely courteous and conscience of our situation. Since we are retired and were there most of the time, they checked with us each evening to let us know who and what time we could expect workers the next day and checked with us for anything that might have been an inconvenience to us. They went out of their way to lay the tile in sections so that we could navigate the house while they were working. The entire project went extremely well and we are very pleased with the results. All of RS employees were very courteous and professional. We had approximately 1,000 square feet of 20x20 tile laid on a diagonal pattern and we can't say enough good things about Ruben (Jim's lead tile installer). He really seemed to do the job as if it were his own house, going out of his way to consult with us on options that would enhance the finished look and he really seemed to take pride in his work. We would highly recommend RS to anyone looking to remodel. Our past experiences with contractors have not been good so it really is satisfying to find such expertise and honesty as we found with RS.
Description of Work: Installed porcelain tile in family room, kitchen, breakfast room, master bathroom, second bath, half bath, laundry and front porch. Installed hardwood flooring in formal dining and living areas. New carpet in master bedroom. Granite countertops and tile/granite backsplash in kitchen. Installed new 60/40 stainless steel sink, faucet and new cooktop. Also removed some kitchen cabinets and fir downs to open up the kitchen. Some drywall repair/texturing and painting.
The entire process from start to finish was excellent. This was the 3rd company we received an estimate from, but the 1st who was able to give us what we needed...Ideas and Advice!! The first two just kept saying "We can do whatever you want", but we were not sure what we wanted. We did not know what was possible that would fit our budget. We were able to give Jim a budget and he was able to come up with a project that fit it. The end result was fantastic! Every person who came to my house was courteous and professional. They were also all employees of Remodel Specialists rather than sub-contractors. Because of this all work began and ended when they said it would and there were no problems with trying to schedule a third party. Like most any construction project there were snags and unknowns along the way. These were all dealt with in a straight forward and immediate manner and we notified almost daily of the progress being made. I went into this remodel project dreading the whole thing, but by the end could not be happier with the results! I would highly, highly recommend this company for any and all construction related repairs or remodels. The overall philosophy and professionalism of this company (from the owner all the way down to the guy who cleans up the mess) was outstanding.

The young men that came out to install the floor were extremely polite and professional. All areas were left clean and in order before they left. They worked very hard and had the entire floor installed in one day. This was quite a lot of area to cover. They only had to come out the second day to install the quarter round in each room. My husband and I are very pleased with how the floors look. It really transformed those two rooms. I would definitely hire this contractor again.
Description of Work: Jim Godre came out to give me an estimate the same day I called. I really liked him and his estimate was in line with previous estimates. He wisely suggested we have additional padding installed to cut down on the noise (which it did) since all surrounding floors were tile and laminate. I had laminate wood flooring installed in our formal dining and living room. I was matching flooring which had been previously installed in our den approximately 3 - 4 years ago. They found the exact flooring and ordered it for us.

Great people to work with, and more than willing to work with you with any issues. I would like to take a minute to retract a negative review I had writen. There was some issues with my floor that I was unsure on. Instead of discussing it with Jim thouroughly, I wrote a bad review on him like a coward in a moment of frustration. The fact is, contractors are going to make mistakes as it is the nature of their very difficult business. If you are looking for a remodel without any problems, you will not find it. But if you are looking for a contractor with integrity who will always do the right thing and make things right whether it costs him or not, you will find that in Jim and Lori. In a world of "fly by night" contractors who run from problems rather than deal with them, it is refreshing to find people that will stick around when you bring things up to them, and make it right.

Most of the work was performed unattended while I was at work. RS will supply a lockbox so they can obtain entry without me being home. This was handled responsibly and was always locked again when I returned home. I had pre-selected the tile and faucets at their showroom earlier. Not a bad selection. Demolition was done on the first day while I was at work. When I came home, everything was demolished and yet all debris had been cleaned up. Tiles were gone, sheetrock was off the wall, carpet was gone. Everything had been cleaned up extremely well. The next day they dug up the foundation to install a new drain and put down new concrete. RS has a 10 year warrranty against leaks so they have a process they follow to ensure that. I was a little perturbed to observe that they appeared to be re-building what they had just torn down rather than enlarging the shower area. This was totally my fault, I had no drawings and no pictures of what was in my head so it would have been hard for them to know exactly what I wanted. The next morning I met with one of their project managers at my house. I produced the picture of what my goal was (found it on the web) and with some design suggestions from their PM and some pencil marks on the floor I was totally confident that they knew exactly what I wanted. Hint .. Gong in to this at least draw out what you want, they're not mind readers. Over the next few days the sheetrock went up, the floor lining went in, some blue sticky substance covered the wall and tiling progressed. I must say that their workers who I met when I came home after work were extremely polite and they spoke enough English such that we were able to communicate well. At the end of each day cleanup was very good. While tiling was being done, the electrician showed up and wired in the light above the shower. Lots of holes in the ceiling (how do they get those covered up?). Upon tiling completion the little details took shape, installing the faucets, framing the mirror, replacing the light switch to accomodate the new light. Final steps were painting. I agonized over the color but selected one I liked which was a kind of burgundy color. Probably a mistake for the toilet but I fixed that by adding more lights. I liked RS in that they appeared to have different specialists for each type of job. A tile expert, an electrician, a plumber, a painter, rather than having the jack of all trades. Each person was employed by RS and not sub-contracted out so they all knew each other and the jobs that needed to be done. The main office kept me up to date at my request on the budget. I did receive a phone call at work one morning letting me know what was planned for that day and what the goals were. That impressed me alot until I found out it was just that day. RS should think about regular calls like that, not necessarily daily but at the start of each new phase. RS good company, easy to work with.

Very professional in the way the business is run. The crew was very polite and always on time. The painters are very good. We had trouble with the resurfacing of the stairs but the crew kept at and kept trying to make it right. The tile crew worked long and hard days to get the job done in a timely manner. They cleaned up each evening and went to great lengths to make sure each area of the home was as protected as could be from dust. I never felt uneasy about leaving any of the crew alone in my home. Very nice group to work with.
