Berkeys Air Conditioning Plumbing & Electrical

Berkey's employees are well-trained and very professional. I have a prevention contract which allows free service calls and inspections for heating/air conditioning. I have used Berkey's for all my heating, air conditioning, and plumbing problems.

We had used Berkey's in the past for plumbing and HVAC. We thought for a bit we would try someone else and that was a disaster. Not only did Berkey's show up on time and followed our instructions (if they saw anything so corroded it would break) to talk to us first. He did, he came and talked to us, we found the part and it was replaced. This saved us $$$$ and keeps a 12 year old AC unit running a bit longer. We are happy campers and so are our cats because the capacitor that was replaced could have gone out and no AC for our furpersons during the hottest part of the year. Thanks Berkey's and Raul!

Went elsewhere at a far better price for both replacing a/c unit and upgrading the duct work ($6250.). This is third quote we have found to be far too high. They are prompt and reasonably good at checking for problems but their prices are out of sight.

Over all I am very happy with the service and prompt response. I called when a previous general contractor installed a thermostat and failed to turn off the power and burned out my transformer. The tech was prompt and proficient and would & will use them again. The only thing that I'm disappointed in is that being a ANGIES List member, when I called I told them I had a coupon for approx. $42.00 off services, didn't get it at the time of sale which I also mentioned to the Tech when he arrived. Before the Tech left, I realized that I didn't get the discount and asked to cancel the transaction and repay after the discount. I was told that it was too late because the transaction had been closed. I don't believe that and wish he would have made more of an effort since I'm a single female on a budget and $42.00 would help. He did say I could use it the next time. Well, that's still not really the point and could've used it now. *Update-on the very next day, Gay called from the company called and apologized for not being issued the discount and will be mailing me a check for the difference. Amazing, with customer service like that, I look forward to doing business with Berkey's and will recommend them to everyone!!! In today's society where good customer service is a thing in the past, it is refreshing to know there are companies out there like Berkey's who look after their customers by doing the right thing!! Raul came out within about an hour of me calling with the emergency- he was fantastic! Super nice man. Got straight to work - found the part outside and explained what it looks like and what it SHOULD look like. Super knowledgeable. Didn't try to sell me the world. Just replaced the part and it's all working again. having them out next to look at our plumbing. Really great guy.

Chris came out and went over the house after my describing the problem. He came to the conclusion that the only way to determine where the problem was coming from was to do a smoke test. Chris and 3 other Berkey employees came back on the 20th to do the test. They located the source and then ran a camera down the vent to confirm exactly where the problem was. I was also able to see where the problem was. They had to cut a hole in the wall in an upstairs bedroom. That revealed that there was a section of pipe that had never been glued together when the house was built. When our new roof was put on several years ago, the pipe separated. Not the roofers fault. The pipe was glued together. The did another smoke test to make sure everything was OK. Although it was an expensive proposition to fix, I am so delighted. No more awful odors when it gets hot outside. Mind you, we had 2 other plumbers, an air-conditioning repairman and a contractor out to try to figure this out and no one else could figure it out. What a relief!!!!! I will recommend Berkey's to everyone. Chris and his associates were very professional!

Perry showed up on time. Office always calls 30 min before they arrive. Found the problem, had parts on truck, and fixed it same day..I even got a discount because I am a BAM member..

Greg arrived on time, was pleasant and professional and started by listening to my description of the issue and where I thought the problem originated. We had discovered water dripping from the ceiling of our family room, directly below the upstairs HVAC unit and upon checking found water on the floor of the closet, leading us to believe the condensate line was backed up. Greg determined both units share a drain line and started by checking the downstairs unit first which drained adequately. He then checked upstairs and confirmed our suspicion about that unit. His estimate included not only the cost of clearing the line but also Berkey's recommended line-clearing treatment which he suggested be used quarterly. I was surprised by the cost of the treatment - well over $100 for a year's worth. I asked if that meant a technician would be out quarterly to apply it and he explained that he would apply it initially but would leave enough for us to use over the next 12 months on our own. When I pushed back on the cost (>100$ for 8, 8oz. bottles of stuff!) he was more than accommodating. Greg cleared the line then treated it and left two bottles for us to use again in 6 months, all for less than $200, which already included the service call. I did sign up for the $99 a year BAM as well as we had been meaning to get our units tuned up anyway. All in all I feel good about the level of service and am grateful to be able to turn my a/c back on! Frankly, this will be the cheap part of the deal as now I need to have my family room ceiling redone...

Berkey's far exceeded our expectation. Instead of coming in to try to make a sale, the technician came in and did more of a check of our system that our previous provider did as part of their service contract. By the time the tech was finished, he'd not only checked the coil and furnace but the temp of the air coming out of the vents, the condition of the compressor as well as the level of freon. In short, he did a regular service check and all at no cost to us. He did tell us the coil was dirty but that, on a scale of 1 to 10, it was a 3, maybe a 4. No, we didn't need to replace the coil or the furnace at this time. He could have come in and told us just the opposite. Instead, he showed the integrity our friends who had recommended the company said we could expect. I noted that the cost of the service was $99 but only because, after the technician was finished and had taken time to discuss what he'd found and what his recommendations were and why, we made the decision right then to switch to Berkey's and we purchased their service contract -- at a substantially lower cost than we'd been paying the other company.

They were on time and very thorough.

The quality of service was very high. They had two technicians that came out. They did it all in two hours. For being here for an hour and a half, I thought the price was a little steep as most of what they did was labor. They were punctual.

I called in today after receiving a letter reminding me it was time to schedule my AC checkup. I was told the first time they could get to me was July 19! 46 days to get a technician to check on my system. I then informed her, the reason I signed up for the program was the priority scheduling. She told me I was a preferred customer and I was getting just that. I then asked her to check how soon she could get someone to fix the wall control that had lost power and shut down the entire system. She told me the first availability was June 10. 7 days from today! They expect their preferred customers to live with no AC in June for 7 days? I called A#1 air and they had a guy at my front door in 8 hours.

Representative was very professional, but suggested added thousands of dollars of duct work to improve system. We did not want to proceed in that direction, so we went with the company that provided out first quote.

Succeeded in tighten the faucet. Works better than the initial installation 4 years ago.

Work went fantastic, technicians showed up on time and sufficient crew was assigned to accomplish all tasks needed for new installation. Once completed, the supervisor explained the install, went over the various features and controls prior to leaving and ensured testing of the water supply was performed. The team also arranged for the appropriate city inspections and ensured technicians were on site when they were performed.

It went great. I wanted to turn a small room into a server room which needs to stay ice cold, so it needed it's own AC unit and vents. They came out on time, installed the unit, a thermostat on the wall, and the venting and it has been working wonderfully.

The whole job took about 2 hours. He showed us how rusted it was and that if we had waited, there may have been serious leakage. We were very happy with them. The plumber also cleaned the floor and it was a job well done.

Service man was prompt, courteous, and very professional. He quickly resolved the problem and we were completely satisfied (he actually "fixed" the repairs of another plumber!) Highly recommend.

Tech arrived and checked out ac system. The compressor sounded funny when it ran. After checking he told me the fan and compressor needed a new capacitor. He also advised that I have the float switch and shut off valve installed. Apparently this is now standard, but due to the age of my unit we did not have it. I opted to have it installed as it can prevent damage to the unit and house from excessive condensation. He checked the unit throughly and advised everything else was in good shape. I can have them come back in the fall and check the heating unit at no charge as I purchased their maintainence contract.

You can not beat their customer service. They were the nicest people and were very informative. We were really impressed with their service.

Upon returning home after about a 2 hour absence, we discovered water leaking into our garage. When we walked into our home, we discovered there was a small leak in our hot water heater. We called Berkey's around 3:00 in the afternoon. There told us they would be able to come between 5:00 and 9:00 pm. This was fine with us as my husband was able to confine the leak. About an hour later, we received a call that they would be at our home around 5:00 or 5:30. Promptly around 5:20, they arrived. The serviceman's name is Carlos Peza. He was courteous and very respectful of our home. Both he and his assistant immediately put shoe covers on so they would not dirty our floors. He assessed the problem promptly, gave us a detailed description of what he would need to do, and an estimate for the work. We agreed to the price and he promptly began work on the problem. We are extremely pleased with the response we received and with the quality of the work. It was very obvious to us that Mr. Peza knew what he was doing and what he had to do to fix the problem and also prevent it from happening again. I would call Berkey's in a minute for any future work. We highly recommend this business. We chose to sign up for BAM (Berkey's Automatic Maintenance) which saved us $60.00 on the service and we also were able to use a coupon that we printed out from Angie's List that saved an additional $45.00. One thing I would like to point out is that Mr. Peza made sure the area where he worked was cleaned up of any debris from the repair. We were shocked. So many times when a service is performed in your home, you are left with a mess to clean up.

Service went well. No complaints.
