I could not find a way to rate the sweep more than OK but not all stars. His dropcloth was in real bad shape and he did not cover the hearth completely so there was significant amount of soot that he tried to clean but it was too dirty. I will clean it w soap n water. I did mention it to him. Also, why dont they wear some sort of cover over the gloves and shoes?

I am 76 and my wife 77. We contracted with United Home Services through the Angi portal to come and clean our air duct basic cleaning + dryer vent. The cost of the package was $149.00. We bought the house on April 28th 2014. It was built for us. We had the dryer duct cleaned once since we bought the house. When the United Homes Services Technician came to the house he said we also need 4 return ducts cleaned at a cost of $85 each for a total cost of $340.00. In addition he sold us a UV light light for $399.00 to control the mold. I approved and paid for the services. The total cost of the invoice was $865.13. Yesterday my friend went up into the attic to replace my air filter. He called down to me and said Ray when did you break the door to the compartment that houses the 4X20x25 air filter. I told him I did not break the door. I crawled up into the attic and saw the door was stuck onto the air filter compartment with sticky HVAC silver tape. The bottom door attachment was broken off and left in the slot. We changed the air filter and resealed with the HVAC tape. Now the only person who has been in the attic near the furnace and Air filter compartment is the United Homes Services Technician. He is the only person who could have broken the door compartment. He probably did this while cleaning out the returns in the attic and installing the UV Light. I am not happy about this. He should have told us what happened. We are seniors and placed our trust in Agni and their Trades People. I didn't check his work because he showed us pictures of what he did. My complaint is not with the billing of $865.13. My complaint is the technician broke the air filter compartment door. He didn't tell us and in fact tried to cover up the incident by using the silver HVAC tape. This is not the correct way to correct what he did or the correct way to conduct business. I used Agni because of the satisfaction guarantee. Well I am not satisfied with what happened If we could resolve this issue I would gladly recommend them, because I really believe they did a good job.

Very nice and friendly young workers that in my opinion need more on-the-job training to achieve quality work and clean up as you go. Basics such as materials and tools that are anticipated for a project are necessities. For example, knowing there will be nails and screws falling from the roof a metal detector can help in picking them up. We are still finding them in the yard. Paper towels or a clean rag come in handy to wipe smudges when sealing areas inside the chimney. Our project was very expensive for the quality of work that we received.

Cleaning the chimney was necessary and was done in a professional and hassle-free process the inspection was detailed and photos were taken to show me the extent of the need for a new cap and chase. The price seemed high to me therefore seeking out additional quotes also do not like the disclaimer if additional work or materials were needed there would be added charges. I feel if you quote the amount for the project it should include hidden expenses.

I hired United Home to just do the standard vent cleaning. I knew it was going to be bad, since it had not been cleaned in 20 years. So after he got here he also inspected the air conditioning unit and found a problem with the coil freezing up and water damage under the unit. He was able to get everything cleaned up and treated. Can’t thank them enough for finding and fixing this big problem. And I had just had the air conditioning repair person out 2 hours before who assured me that everything was fine!

I had soot all over everything.

The charge was $400 for inspection, caulking, and spraying the inside of the firebox black. The machine to clean the chimney belched a cloud of soot when turned on. They left black soot all over my chimney surround and floors. The guys were friendly and courteous but did not move anything out of the way or offer to move anything back after they were done, which turned out to be a good thing since my floors were covered in soot. Overall I think the service was very overpriced and left my place a mess. I have never had my chimney cleaned before, so I am not sure if this is normal.

We hired them for chimney cleaning for their advertised rate of $99.00. It was definitely NOT a good experience. Jon spent a maximum of 25 minutes kneeling in front of our fireplace, running a high-powered vacuum. He stopped long enough to tell us the **standard** clean was not going to properly do the job. We needed to pay for the **deep clean**. He showed me a picture on his phone that was supposedly the inside of our chimney. When we told him we only wanted the **standard** cleaning, he became very un-friendly. He immediately started picking up his tools, had us pay the agreed-upon amount ($99), and he left. Only then did we notice our entire front room was filthy. Every surface was left with a fine layer of black chimney soot. We spent two hours cleaning the hearth, the mantle, and all tables and chairs in the front room. A week later, we are still vacuuming up the soot from the carpeting. I called their office to tell them they needed to check that vacuum, because it was blowing the chimney dust out the back end. The fellow I talked to apologized, but made no effort to refund our money or pay for a professional cleaning service. This was definitely a disaster all the way around.
