Went very Well, as promised

Very well.

It's 10:30 at night. We're sitting in the hot tub when the fuse box starts popping and lighting up the backyard. The hot tub goes dark. Because it's on a separate box from the house, the house didn't blow out. But, we didn't know what was going on. We called Tim Smoot's 24 hour service and someone was out within 45 minutes. After a few minutes, the electrician knew what happened and worked a couple of hours on it. As it turned out, the wires had been installed incorrectly and could have caused major damage. (We gave the company that did the original work an F on Angie's List over 7 months ago because of other incompetencies. This just added to it!) The guy was very very professional and all the equipment connected to the box suffered no damage.

They were fantastic and very affordable. This electrician is a very good person and real knows his stuff when it comes to doing electrical work. He offers prices that are very reasonable and he does excellent work.

The electrician stated another person would come back to my home to give me an estimate for the replacement of the landscape lighting. He has not shown up so I will have to call them. I only live a few blocks from them but I was still charged the regular transportation fee of $30. Their cost is $100 for the first hour and $70 for every additional hour. They did not come on time as my husband had to telephone them to make certain they were going to show up. They did show up eventually for the service.

I was very happy with work. I felt that Tim is not the cheapest, but he is very good. I guess the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. That is definitely the case I feel when it comes to people doing work for you in your home. I would gladly recommend his work to others.

On 8/15, when Rick was scheduled to install the exterior outlet, it rained off and on all day. I did not hear from Rick, but fully understood that he could do the job while it was raining. When I still had not heard from Rick six days later, although there was no more rain during this time, I called the company again. After calling 2 or 3 times, I was told on 8/24 that Rick would be out on 8/28 to complete the job. On the morning of 8/24, a man who identified himself as Joe called. He said Rick was no longer with the company and that he would have to come out to do another estimate. He said his truck was in the shop, but he would call back as soon as he got it back to let me know when he would come. I waited until late afternoon and then called the company back. I was told Joe was not available. I left my telephone number again, but as of today (8/30) no one has called. I finally called a different company to try and get this job done.

I called at 11 AM and was given a 3 hour window for that same afternoon, I was called at 1:45 PM and the electrician arrived at about 2 PM. I told him the problem, he removed the GFI outlet in the garage, which proved to have melted the CB. After replacement the original problem still existed, so he checked both outdoor outlets and found a great deal of water in one outlet, note: my house is less than 3 years old, he cleaned and dried the outlet, and advised that we should replace the silicon grout around all outdoor plugs. Problem solved, total time on the job, 30 min. Very professional, explained exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it. I would not hesitate to use this company again. Total cost $117, est. $70 + $30 for service call, add on $17 for new GFI plug

I called and asked for service. Joe answered the office phone. He told me that they were booked for the day, but that he would come out himself to take a look. He came over right away. He checked the problem and said that he did not have the part on his truck, so he would have to go back to the office to see if they had one there. He said that if they did he would call to come back over soon to replace it, and if they didn't he would order one and would call tomorrow to come over to replace it. Forty-five minutes later he called and said he had to order one and would call me tomorrow. He did call the next morning, and scheduled at my convenience for that afternoon. He came over and installed the new breaker. He even waived the $30 "go back" fee.

Smoot had done the new construction electrical in our new home, so we believed they would have a better handle on it. In any case, they preferred not to quote the job, but to do it on an hourly basis ($70). Their over the phone estimate for this was 3 hours. We agreed and they scheduled a date. They arrived promptly at the specified time, with a crew of two. Both were obviously experienced electricians and went right to work. Once they had located all of the wiring and tentative switch locations, they gave us choices on where we wanted the switches, etc. Once they started they worked quickly and neatly and had the job done in a little over 2 hours. In addition, since they had to crawl up in the attic, I asked them to install a work light in our over-garage storage space. All the work was neat, professional and done with a minimum of mess. They even covered all areas with plastic tarps. Very well done and we are very pleased.

Let's just say I'm not used to this type of service. Justin was superb! Even his performance after the sale was exceptional. Any questions we had he answered and he did everything to code. The price was fair. The was a miscommunication between the estimator and Justin, so be sure that all the work you want done is included explicitly on the estimate. Other than that, it was a great experience. If we have any other electrical work we will give them a call again.

This company charges labor by the hour: $100.00 for the first; $80.00 thereafter. Service man (Butch) called before coming out, arrived promptly, was very professional and completed the work in a very efficient manner. He even came up with a less expensive alternative to my plan for replacing one of the fixtures. The cost of the replacement fixtures and vent fan was included in the total price: a quick internet check on the price to buy the fixtures myself showed the company charged less than retail to provide them to me.

Excellent. Alfred came the same day that we called the company with our problems. Alfred was pleasant, courteous and efficient. He worked his way from upstairs for the ceiling fan and outlet to downstairs to evaluate an intermittent light, then went outside to evaluate another light and the service line. He evaluated a light that wasn't working outside and found that it was getting no power. To go further at that point would have been inefficient in time and would have wasted money; he discussed less expensive options that we could do ourselves to track down the source of the problem and then call him back, if necessary, to make the repairs. His judgement seemed sound; we appreciated his honesty and courtesy.

The service man was very polite and helpful.

Great, they came out early and fixed everything with in an hour...the service guy was very friendly and clean.

THE WORK ITSELF WAS GOOD. HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN (ALEX G) OVERSTATED HIS LABOR TIME BY AN HOUR! HE STATED THAT HIS WORK STARTED AT 8:00AM, BUT HE DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL 8:30! ALSO, HE STATED THAT HIS WORK WAS DONE AT 11:30, BUT WAS DONE at 11:00, AND I WATCHED HIM SIT IN HIS TRUCK THE NEXT HALF HOUR, FILLING OUT HIS WORK ORDER, I GUESS! LONG STORY SHORT, HIS SUPERVISOR (VERY PROFESSIONAL) REIMBURSED ME $75. PERHAPS THE COMPANY ITSELF IS "GOOD", BUT BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE, I COULDN'T HIRE THEM AGAIN.

Although this was a piddling job that many contractors would not bother with, The Smoot man arrived as scheduled, worked steadily, answered questions, and cleaned up.

Excellent! The technician was on-time. He listened attentively while I explained the problems. He then set right to work. He worked thoroughly and efficiently. He was very polite to my wife and considerate of our 11 month old baby. Overall, the quality of the work is superb. This was a difficult job which involved extending wiring to a new room and time in the attic, walls, and under-house portions of our home. My wife was home most of the day while the technician performed the work, and had nothing but compliments for his manners, attention to detail, and professionalism. I would highly recommend this electrician and will use him again in the future should the need arise.

The two employees from the company actually arrived earlier than the scheduled time (about 30 min.) Once the employees and I discussed what work would be done, they went right to work. The job was done in about 3 hours and was not cheap, but I guess reasonably priced. It was a great overall experience especially when one of the employees started vacuuming the carpet when a little bit of dust was created from their work!

Workman extremely personable and dedicated to doing the right thing even if it meant returning the next day.

Electrician was on time. Work was completed in a reasonable time, though electrician did not have all the necessary parts and had to make trip back to business. I was not charged for the time away from work site. Electrician was very courteous and worked consistently during the chargeable hours.

I liked his attitude of professionalism. He went over the house, with a fine-toothed comb, trying to make sure nothing was missed. All the mistakes he found were reported to the builder and me. The phone jacks were done as a favor. I was not charged for it. My calls were always returned promptly, and I have not had any electrical problems since the inspection.

THE WORK THEY DID WAS GOOD AND WE NEEDED TO HAVE A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN, BUT IT SEEMED LIKE A LOT OF MONEY FOR A LITTLE WORK. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID A GREAT JOB INSTALLING THE ELECTRICAL AND RUNNING THE CONDUIT SO THE FINISHED JOB LOOKED GREAT.
