He measured the doors and got me the best deal. He even used his contractor's licesnse discount at Lowe's to save me money. He cleaned up his mess. He was on time and even finished a week earlier so we came under budget. Everything was perfect. He worked with a siding contractor to make sure the siding and windows fit perfectly. Everything turned out beautifully.

He called right away.  The communication was great from the beginning.  He explained everything thoroughly and arrived on time.  He stuck to the price originally quoted.  I trusted him in my home.  He cleaned up well and he made sure as it was before he arrived.  He didn't want any payment till he was done, and he made sure I was satisfied with the work.

Sherman examined the door and quickly noted that if he adjusted the rollers on the bottom of the door then it would roll very smooth and easy. A quick diagnosis and fix on his part. He complimented the door by telling me that you do not see a door of this quality and it will outlast the house itself.

Sherman told us what he planned to do, explained the process well and explained problems with materials received, and completed the job on time and budget. The workplace was left clean and free of construction materials.

We had 2 glass patio doors that needed to be replaced so we could install a dog door. Sherman came to our house within a day of calling him. He measured everything, made a list of items he would need, and sent us to Home Depot to order the door we wanted and the shopping list of supporting materials. Thus, we paid for the cost of materials directly to Home Depot. When everything arrived 10 days later, Sherman was available to install the door within 3 or 4 days. He picked up the door and materials from Home Depot, brought them to our home, arrived on time as promised and installed the doors within 3 hours. He began work on a dog door. Due to a parts mismatch that was the dog door's fault, not Sherman's, he had to find custom screws, available only from a specialty hardware store. He spent 2 hours finding these special screws, had them made, paid for them, and installed them. He spent more time on the trivial dog door than the incredibly well finished patio door. Our costs were $325 in labor, paid to Sherman after all work was completed, and the cost of materials, paid to Home Depot (about $700).

Sherman - The Door Guru - replaced our back door - full frame and also installed a storm door. He came and gave an reasonable estimate and we arranged a work date. I went to Home depot and ordered the materials he listed. When they arrived, he picked them up and came to do the work. It turned out he had to be late and he called to tell me that. Not something a lot of trades people do. As he was doing this work we determined that we could use some work on the upper balcony door too. Sherman had to get a special part for that and so it couldn't be done the same day. I was going out of town for 3 weeks and he said to call him when I got back. I did, he got the part but was delayed in getting to my home to do the work. He was so apologetic and felt guilty about that so he reduced the price. Unheard of. Great service. He is a master at his craft and the most customer service trade person I have ever encountered. I would highly recommend him for both the workmanship and service areas.

I called several contractors from the list. Sherman returned my call within 15 minutes, explaining that he had been with a customer when I called and his policy is not to answer his cell phone when with clients. I wish everyone had the same rule! He laid out exactly what he would do and emphasized that the satisfaction of his customers was paramount to him. He really acted like he wanted my business, a surprisingly rare trait these days. He arranged to meet my wife the following day for a measurement and free estimate. He came and measured and quoted $200. He would not take any payment until the work was completed to our total satisfaction. He made a list of all the materials needed, including trim, mortar, lock hardware, caulk and sealant. He said we could just go to a home improvement store and give them the list (and our credit card, of course) and he would pick everything up. He told us that if we could not find a suitable door he could build one for us if necessary. He was really focused on solving our problem. We had to delay installation a week due to our schedule, but he could have done the work much sooner had we been able. On the arranged installation day Sherman arrived right on time, having picked up everything as he said he would. He went right to work and finished in a couple of hours. He even installed a second pet door for a paltry $25. The work appears to be flawless, and Sherman warranties it for 12 months.

It was a very pleasant experience. I was very happy with all of the work he did, and I would definitely use him again. He takes pride in his work and the finished product because he truly enjoys his work. He is a true craftsman.
