Switch Electric

Provider advised prior to commencing that existing panel looked looked good. Nonetheless, I wanted the project done as a matter of preventive maintenance as existing panel was over 30 years old. A two year warranty for parts and labor was given by provider. The GFIC outlets were requested for safety purposes as well as the surge protector which comes with an automatic insurance policy in case the protector should fail. Job took approximately 10 hours over two days. Owner with apprentice did install. Professional, punctual, explained everything and did excellent work. Price seemed reasonable based on my research. I would definitely use this company again.

They were great. They came out and made special arrangements to come out sooner because we were getting the stove cooktop installed. They were very reasonable for the additional work that was required to do the job. We got the parts that were needed very quickly. They showed up and got the work done in less than three hours. The system works great. The guy came out less than a week. We had a very small window time because we had to travel for business. He worked with us on the schedule. He wasn't available on the original day we wanted, but he accommodated us and came out to do the work.

|Brandon and Carlos arrived on time and went right to work. The job was more involved than originally thought, but with their experience and professionalism, it was completed well. The cover plate he had was adequate, but not as perfect as he'd like, so Brandon went to the hardware store to get a better one, and picked up better lightbulbs while he was at it, at no additional (time or materials) cost to me. Now my ceiling fan is perfectly centered, working well and brighter than ever. Brandon and Carlos are professional and pleasant to work with. I'm very happy with the job done by Switch Electric, and I would use them again, and I highly recommend them!

They rewired the electricity for my range hood and replaced an electrical box for higher wattage use. They did a lot of work for this big deal coupon and I would definitely use them again.

I bought a Big Deal, but provider messaged me that they could not schedule any work till after the holidays, and I needed work done right away.

I called Switch Electric and was honest enough to inform me that they were busy this time of the year and would not be able to come out until the beginning of the new year. Sort of a bummer but he did ask what my concern/problem was and actually took the time to walk me through the process. After I hung up, I did as instructed and the problem was fixed. I'm a first time homeowner so the solution may have been obvious to some but he at least didn't try to take advantage of the situation. Very professional and courteous over the phone. I'm very impressed and will do business with again, at least in a less busier time of the year!

I searched Angie's List for electricians who had Saturday business hours. Switch Electric had Saturday business hours with an "A" grade. I called an hour before the office opened thinking I was going to get the after hours answering service, the owner answered the phone. I told him the hot water heater was not heating the water. He informed me that he was booked for much of the day. After finding out I was just in the next neighborhood he said he could stop by and give me a free estimate and return later in the day to do job. Within 30 minutes of our initial phone call, he arrived at my house and was troubleshooting the outlet. Instead of giving us the free estimate and returning to do the job, he determined the 30amp breaker was not working and said he was able to replace right away. Within an hour of our initial phone call he had troubleshot the outlet, removed and replaced the breaker, and tested the outlet. After all of that, he was still able to stay on schedule for his other jobs.

That was good. It didn't take them very long. They did an excellent job. They were in and out. It was good service.

It is refreshing to work with such a great staff.

Very prompt and professional. The electrician educated me on everything he was installing and why. Vacummed up all debris from the work area. Excellent work.

Provider promised to call 2 days after the initial email, but failed to follow through. They did not respond to phone messages and failed to respond to Angie's List intervention.

I just checked out Angie's list because I needed an electrician. I found Switch Electric because they were offering a great deal - signed up and bought the deal. They called the same day - and then came out - AFTER HOURS - on a particulary dark and cold night. The rep was friendly, professional and prompt! He diagnosed and fixed the problem right away. He also asked me some questions about electrical usage in my home and made some helpful suggestions for the future. He made it clear that he was not trying to hard sell anything, just made some recommendations that I should consider. I was extremely satisfied and frankly very impressed. I got his card and will definitely use them again - and will recommend the company to all of my friends.

The service provided went very well. They were very punctual and very helpful for me cause I'm in the process of moving. The work turned out fine.

Repairs various items; replaced outdoor light

My dishwasher, which I hadn't used in 3 years, didn't start and there was no voltage to the dishwasher. When Switch Electric called to set up an appointment, he asked about the problem and I described it and what I had done. He asked if I had a switch in the kitchen that controlled the dishwasher and I didn't know as I had never had to throw a switch before to get a dishwasher to work. I tried all the kitchen switches, found the one and the power was now on at the dishwasher outlet. He said he wouldn't charge me because he didn't have to make a service call, but I said I'd pay him anyway because he solved my problem and saved me time because I didn't have to stay at my house waiting for the service technician to make a call.

The provider never responded to the big deal request for contact so I called him that Friday (he was supposed to call by Thursday) and got no answer. He still hadn't called so I called him today (11/26) and reached Brandon. We started talking about what I could do for the $69 for a service call and one hour labor deal. It turns out that everything was extra - installing a new box for a light, installing a new 20-inch semi-flush light, and anything that needed new wiring was extra. None of what he stated was reflected in the fine print of the deal. In fact, a new light and/or ceiling fan install were identified specifically as eligible PROJECTS as part of the deal. However, Brandon insisted that all "PROJECTS" were extra and threw our $250 plus $350 as an estimate, and that the deal was not eligible for installing a new box for a light nor was it eligible for installing a new semi-flush light in my living room. When I said I didn't mind paying extra for work that took longer but wanted to ensure the big deal value applied, he said he might be able to give me a $100 credit on the numbers he quoted in place of the big deal since it was not eligible for "PROJECTS." Again, none of what he stated is in the fine print of the deal. When I mentioned that the deal actually said that installing a new light was eligible, he asked additional details which I answered (the ceiling was 9', the light was semi-flush 20" wide valued at $600, it was replacing a ceiling fan, etc.). After I answered all his questions he said it should be eligible for the deal. I asked if he was sure before he comes out (because he had just contradicted himself), and then he said he would have to come look at it and he didn't know because it depends. Either my deal has value towards the work as stated or it does not. It's a pretty straightforward, easy question for a professional service provider. I know the work was time bound and I didn't mind paying extra but I expect at least honest answers (consistent with the fine print) that help me as a customer understand the criteria affecting the estimate. Even though the conversation was cordial, Brandon suggested 3-4 times in the one phone call that I get a refund since the work I wanted done wasn't eligible. Getting a refund is the best advise he gave me,

There was a delay in getting the appointment because they said Angie's List posted the Big Deal too early so I had to wait until the time it should have been posted to make an appointment and then it took me contacting them two more times before I was finally able to get the appointment. When the service man did come out, he was late it was after 3:00 PM and cold and rainy. The only person at home at that time happen to be my daughter and my two grandbabies. When she explained that we wanted to replace some lighting and ceiling fans he politely explained that that was probably not going to be possible in the two hours available. They then took the first fixture down and immediately said "oh, no". They said the wiring was too old and they would not work on it but they would do a complete rewiring of the house for $10,000. They then stated we should get our money back from Angie's List. They did tell my daughter in law she was welcome to get a second opinion. I have recently had other people working at the house to redo a bath and install new plugs, had a new central air conditioning unit put in and have had two other ceiling fans installed and they went fine. I am sure the house could be totally rewired for $10,000, it was build in the mid-60's but would this be my only alternative? Apparently so.... When I came home from work that afternoon, my granddaughter ran to my car saying, did you hear the bad news our house is no good. Definitely not a good experience. ***************************************************************************************************************************************** I am still waiting for my refund from Angie's List. Please let me know when I can expect a refund.

The problem was resolved, but they went above and beyond and fixed a light switch issue that had never been working since I bought my house!

Brandon and his helper were just wonderful! They came out and replaced a chandalier over my dining room table as well as a light fixure over my kitchen sink. He remembered from my initial call to them that I had mentioned possibly replacing the bulbs in my security lights outside. Even though it was very dark outside and a little over the hour, (I purchased this deal on Angie's Big deals), he and his helper went right to work replacing the bulbs. The fact that he remembered this from our call days earlier tells me that customer satisfaction is the main goal for this company. I will be calling him again when I get ready to replace the light fixture at mom's house ;)

Brandon installed two ceiling fans for me. This was an Angie's List special and was well worth the price. I would definitely use Switch Electric again - even without the special price offers. Brandon was prompt, pleasant and went straight to work. I was very pleased and the fans look wonderful and operate quite well. Our secondary bedrooms are now more comfortable for our guests.

Switch assessed the issue and recommended to have the breaker box rewired/replaced to ensure all areas of the home would be protected and that the current breaker box overall was out of compliance/old and could cause future issues. We decided to comply with the recommendations. Electrician replaced old breaker box and rewired in about 3 hours and this was on a SUNDAY! The prompt response, professionalism and SPECIAL SERVICE on a Sunday, made SWITCH a special company in my eyes. There were no other Electrical Services that worked on the weekends and if they did , their electricians did not work or closed at noon. Thanks to Switch for Excellent Customer Service!!
