A/C went out arouhnd the first week of June. We were having our grandkids spend the week with us. The part that was needed was expensive and would take a week to get it. So we called the company we usually deal with. The part took a few days to get, and it did end up costing the exact amount that Jon Wayne Co. quoted us. They were honest, but we ended up calling another company because it is always better to get a second opinion when shelling out th at amount of money; over $1000 .
Description of Work: They checked out the unit, but the part that was needed was going to take a week to get. We couldn't wait that long in the heat of the summer.

They came quickly when our bad situation was made worse by SERVICE EXPERTS previously called SAN ANTONIO HEATING AND AIR - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! But back to Jon Wayne.... They came quickly and sent 4 people to make sure the job was done. The unfortunate thing was that after they did the repairs to the vent, they left a small gas leak, which they then came back out and repaired. It shouldn't have happened in the first place, but at least they were prompt in coming back out to repair it. All in all, it was a good experience.
Description of Work: They had to respond in a crisis situation and did so in a hurry. They repaired previous work that was not done properly when new A/C units were installed. They had to redo the vent from the new units to the outside, out the attic ceiling and roof. They also repaired a small gas leak.

Found company on Angie's List, called to set up service. Was told that they were offering a "service" which provided A/C service in the spring and heating service in the fall. I said I would like that. The technicians showed up on time and did quality work. At the end of the work, I was provided a bill for $568, which, I was told, included the repair work and the "service" for my system in the fall, plus 2 additional service calls at no charge. One month later, I had them come out for a service call, which they did at no charge, convincing me that I had a good service contract. In October I called for the fall heating service, which they set up for 26 October between 8 and 12. When no one showed up, nor called, by 12, I called and was informed that I had not paid for the "service" and it would be an additional $350. No one called to inform me they weren't going to show up, no one informed me that there would be additional charges until after they didn't show up. Three times in the last two weeks I called to confirm the "service" and was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. Work done was totally acceptable. Worst customer service I have witnessed in a long time

Our A/C stopped blowing cold air at the beginning of September. After getting 2 quotes from 2 other companies, I was going to cancel my appt with jon wayne. Thank goodness I didn't! J.J. Johnson was incredibly professional and I felt was the first honest person I dealt with. He told me that what the other two companies told me wasn't nearly what we needed. Wilkes A/C was trying to tell me I needed a brand new unit. JJ pointed out that I really had a simple fix (cleaning the outside coils on my unit and replacing the refrigerant). JJ saved us over $3500.00 at a time when we didn't have the extra money to purchase a new unit. JJ told me there may be some permanent damage to our compressor and explained why, and pointed out that at some point in the future we probably will need to replace our unit. I'm just so thankful he was able to provide a solution which is allowing us to save for that emergency. We are now part of the JW Rescue club and will call only Jon Wayne in the future. Came out for scheduled appointment- arrived late. Proceeded to do a very thorough evaluation which was impressive. However, we were upfront when we told them we didn't NEED to replace the nit as it was working fine, just wanted to evaluate cost to replace as it was over 30 years old and cost a lot to keep the house cool. We told them we would not spend over $13,000 as this was a reasonable amount to regain in electric bill savings over the time we own the home. They had to come out a week later with the proposal- the only one of 4 companies we had come out that did not do a same day proposal. All other companies sent out the trained professional who could do the proper calculations on site. When the sales guy arrived. He went through the entire presentation and finally told us their lowest price would be 20,000..... 7,000 over what we told them would be our max. I scoffed and said, ok, what for just the unit and instal, not all the duct work (since ours was fine, but they were proposing to add 3 vents) he said they couldn't guarantee their work if all wasn't performed as recommended. So they would do it, but not warranty it. That cost was still 15,000. We ended up getting a better unit, with better filter and uv light from another company for well under our budget - WITH transferable warranty and free year of maintenance. Here's the real kicker- I called the sales guy to tell the, we wouldn't need their services, but thankful for his time, and he asked what unit we ended up getting. I told him the same size and better SEER that he had also recommended, but for a better price and warranty. He got angry. He said,"so you took my recommendation to another company and leveraged it against me!?". I informed him the other company had come out prior to him (since it took him a total of 1.5 weeks to even give me a quote) and I already knew we'd go with me when he was here. I had to hang up because he wouldn't let it go. VERY rude, and highly unprofessional. I've never been so appalled by the lack of customer service.

Called for service which was done in a timely manner. Yet their costs were way out of line with compeditors. Got an estimate for a complete system replacement which was way out of line as they try to force you to take a package system that can include things you don't really need. Also on both the service call and the system replacement they refused to give you a written estimate. You had to copy down what they told you or you would otherwise not be able to have a copy of the cost. They are more concerned with what is best financially for them rather than what is in the best interest of the customer.
Description of Work: There employees are very professional. Yet in my case they wanted to sell me a system that I did not need. Everything is a package and if you don't need everything in the package you are being forced to do business on their terms. Before you do business with them I would shop around. Also check their rating on Better Business Bureau they have had several complaints lodged in the last 12 months.

Punctual and polite. The system was still under warranty so there was no charge.
Description of Work: My A/C stopped working. Jon Wayne responded quickly and found that the drain pipe was clogged causing the safety switch to cut off the system. They cleared the line and reset the system.

Terrific!! If you are buying a unit from Jon Wayne, explore the Rescue Club membership.
Description of Work: Our outside air conditioning unit stopped yesterday on our 2 1/2 year old Jon Wayne a/c system. We called at about 6:00 p.m. yesterday and at 8:15 a.m. today, the service technician arrived, diagnosed and fixed the problem very quickly. Unit is back on and house very cool!! Because we are "Rescue Club" members, there was absolutely no charge. Terrific unit, terrific service, terrific people to work with! Thanks to Mario, great technician!

Jon Wayne was not able to come out in the morning, so they gave us a time of 12pm to 4pm. They got there at 3:50pm.Mario was our tech. He was very polite and professional and checked our system. It took him about 10 minutes to figure out what was wrong. Something about a dual voltage regulator. He put on the new part and waited for 15 minutes to make sure it was working properly. Everthing was working again. We belong to the rescue club so we did not have to pay anything ($0). The part that was replaced was valued at over $300. In my experinece with Jon Wayne (I have been using them for roughly 5 years) is that they are a bit pricey up front, but they do a good job and they stand behind their work. I am happy with their service especially with Mario. I recommend that if anyone is going to use Jon Wayne to sign up with the rescue club ( I have a silver membership) since this will save you money in the long run.
Description of Work: I had bought a new system from Jon Wayne in April 2011. The system was working perfectly. On Sunday evening JUne 10, 2012 around 9:45pm. my wife and I noticed that the house was very warm. We checked the temperature and it was 82. We set the temp at 78 and sometimes 77 but the temp never went this high before while the AC was on. We waited 15 minutes and checked the temp again at it was 83. We felt the air coming out of the register and it was warm. We called Jon Wayne the next morning.

Description of Work: My husband set an appointment with Jon Wayne yesterday. He was very specific on his needs. He asked that the repairman to bring a 10x14" damper with him on the truck. Our appt window was set for 10am - 2pm on Saturday. After hanging around the house most of the day and putting off errands, we called at 1:45 to ask where they were. We were told we were next, but they were not finished at the previous job. We called back again at 3:40 and were told they would be finished within 20 minutes and would head to our house. My husband asked if the damper was on the truck and the woman answered "No, because it's not standard". He argued for a minute about calling ahead, but gave up. The cell phone signal was bad and we got cut off. She didn't call back, and needless to say, neither did we. The repairman never arrived.

Based upon a CPS energy audit I needed to have my a/c duct work sealed. (Lots of leaking). I looked through many different websites and found that Jon Wayne specifically listed duct REPAIR as a service they offered and they listed great guarantees. I scheduled the service - for which there was NO CHARGE - AWESOME. They were prompt and professional. The tech they sent out sat down and wanted to discuss my needs (I was impressed). We specifically talked about duct repair and that I would NOT be replacing the systems. He got straight to work looking at and assessing my system. He used an airflow tester and took measurements - VERY GOOD. When we sat down to discuss what he found, he went straight into a sales pitch for new systems!!! We had already discussed NO NEW SYSTEMS. He knew exactly the discounts and the rebates and the options. He was sure to tell me about the specials only being available for 10 more days (horrible sales tactic) and when I asked about the duct work he gave a random quote of $4200 to $4500 to fix my problems (but did not leave anything in writing or give me a real break down - materials needed/labor etc). For that matter, he did not leave anything in writing for me to review at all. I had to take a picture of the estimate from a book for the new systems. Oh the cost of the new systems: $18,000.00 for the upstairs 16 seer system with new duct work and 5 year warranty and $11,000 for the downstairs unit (split mini system) so no duct work - WAIT... I just realized my duct work problem solved for only $29,000.00 (yes very sarcastic tone here). My house is tax valued at $106,000.00 I am NOT going to spend $30,000.00 for a new a/c to replace a system that is only 8 years old.... I was so disappointed. AND on the final note: I sent an email asking if I could give some feedback, Tito, replied back and sounded interested in my concerns, I sent him and email back and GUESS WHAT? I never did receive a reply back. So I still don't have a written estimate to fix the duct work... so I won't be hiring Jon Wayne any time soon.

I had Jon Wayne install a mini split system in my guest house and all I can say about them is that they are AMAZING! This is the second system I had them in stall at my home and I also had them work on my central air. They are AMAZING and I will never use anyone else to work on my systems.

Description of Work: As a gold service account, I get my entire heating and A/C system serviced twice a year. All services and parts related with the service are free of charge. Each service takes 2-3 hours and each service leaves the system in top condition. Any time that I have a problem, inbetween normal service visits or during service visits, I get instant customer coverage with a smile. Rudy Johnson, my John Wayne service rep #63, performs all services with excellence, he has a smile from start to finish, an attitude of confidence, and the mind of a scholar, yet he is humble, polite, and very friendly.

HVAC rep called me at about 7:45 to tell me he was on his way for my 8:00 AM appointment. From that point till he left, he went through both my attic unit as well as my ourdoor unit. Prior to leaving he went over everything with me, asked me if I had any questions and was on his way.
Description of Work: My semi annual check with Jon Wayne went as expected. The service rep showed up on time, inspected my system and then again as usual went above and beyond, clenaing my vents, taking the cover off of my outdoor unit and cleaning all the leaves and pollen. From teh day I called Jon Wayne on a saturdayfive years ago when my current system went dead on a 100 degree texas day, (from their yellow page add) when my current hvac service company told me they could not help me till monday, I have been impressed with the quality of their service.

Technician arrived on time. Checked system inside and out. Made recommendation on condensate system which I accepted. Came back the following day and installed equipment and activated gold service plan.

Melvin came on time did his work,told me how my units were performing and asked if there was anything else he could do. What more could you ask for?
Description of Work: Being on their check up plan is wonderful. Because there is no charge for an annual heating check in the winter. Also no charge for a annual check for the A/C in the summer. Alway a couteous tech comes and does a top notch job! Thanks for treating your customers like a person and not just another call for the day.
