This was a very well done job. He checked every station and every pop-up and rotor for function and proper spray pattern. He flagged all problem areas and gave me a complete run down on what needed fixing and what could wait. He explained everything in detail and allowed me to decide what needed to be done. No high pressure selling with this man...just honest assessment and a very strong work ethic. No question he is the absolutely the best! I would recommend him to anyone!

I was very pleased with the service. I'm reasonably handy, but if I had tried to track this down myself it may have taken me days -- if I ever found it. David was smart, polite, and worked quickly. He explained everything and answered all my questions. His charge of $80 for the service call was very reasonable and he accepted my 10% off Angie's List coupon.

He showed up on time, with all of the equipment that was needed to complete the repairs and worked closely with me to make sure that the system was tuned to my liking. He gave me an accurate quote before starting the job and finished quickly with no delays. Very nice gentleman and would hire him again in the future.

..Overall I was very pleased with the customer service. He was very friendly and seemed very knowledgable for what we needed to have done. Great communication on price and the type of repairs that were needed. We had quite a lot that needed to be repaired so it took about 3 hours for him to complete the job. I thought this was very efficient and resonable for the quality of the work received. All of our sprinklers are now in good working order and we are very satisfied. Would not hesitate to call him again for future maintenance.

I initially met David when a sprinkler valve was stuck on open and I called him in a panic. He was calm and told me exactly what to do.He then came out and fixed the problem. I was so impressed with him I called him after major landscape work in the backyard and we needed to have an assessment and re-direct of our entire system. He is prompt, courteous, offers his opinion as to what you need - not what will earn him the most money, and most of all honest - which to me is one of the most important qualities in a contractor. I highly recommend him.

Just after having our yard sodded, one of the sprinkler system stations would not operate. Per the troubleshooting section of the controller book, the symtoms and codes on the controller indicated it would either be a short circuit in the solenoid or valve wiring. I called him (we had used him before in 2010) and he was able to fit us in because of a cancellation (and probably the situation with the sod and maybe even the desperation in my voice). He was very prompt and very efficient and repaired the problem quickly with my only having to pay his minimum charge for labor and time (less the Angies List discount) plus the parts. We will definitely call him again should we need sprinkler system repair.

David was very professional from start to finish. Responds quickly after leaving a voice mail and worked with me on a time where we could both be there since I had to make a number of decisions in order for him to continue to the next problem/issue. His prices are fair and he works very hard to get the job done right so he will not have to come back. I highly recommend David. I'm a very satisfied customer.

I called David Nelson and left a voice mail message. David called me back in less than an hour (I think it was actually a half-hour) and we set up a day and time for him to perform the system inspection, etc. David's professionalism and courtesy was immediately apparent on the phone. On the day of the appointment, David showed-up on time and I proceeded to show him the problems with the irrigation system that I knew existed. David explained his process for inspecting the system and stated he would go through and develop a list of needed/suggested repairs. A short time later, David reviewed his findings in detail and specifically showed me some potential problems. He was very honest explaining what repairs were not essential. Based on David's assessment, and my own logic for replacing/repairing aging home infrastructure, I proceeded with having David make all the repairs described in the summary of services performed (above). When David was finished, he placed markers at all heads and valves since I was going to aerate the lawn the following day. In summary, David was extremely courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure dealing with a true professional and I will definitely have David back in the future.

as usual the work was done swiftly and correctly .... this is important when work is billed by the hour.....first hour is $80.00 and any hours after first hour is $65.00 ... the project took about 2 hours... he has done work for me before and if the need arises for additional sprinkler repairs ... i will call him again-

I contacted David because of his outstanding Angie's List ratings. He was able to promptly schedule an appointment for me. I originally thought I just needed him to replace a sprinkler head, but the entire system had not been maintained for at least 5 years so I anticipated the system would need more than just that. David was extremely thorough in his inspection and recommended options for the repairs (i.e., less expensive controller vs more expensive controller that had more functions and was more user friendly) so that I could decide how much I wanted to spend since it was a rental property. I appreciated having choices and felt 100% confident in his skills. I immediately felt like I could trust his judgement. David's sincerity is evident from the very first minute of a conversation. You don't find many people who have the customer's best interests in mind and are not out to just make a quick buck. David is truly interested in ensuring the work is performed correctly and the system is operating again as designed. He goes above and beyond to give you the absolute best service for a great value. David is "old school" -- and that is a high compliment. He's sincere, trustworthy, professional, respectful, and kind. I wouldn't hesitate calling David again and plan to do just that for my own sprinkler system after I xeriscape my yard.

Very professional, on time, friendly. Charges around $80 for the first hour and $60 subsequent hours. + cost of parts. Would use again. He was not intimidated by my very old sprinkler system with 2" copper pipe. The job took a little bit longer than expected but he does a thorough job.

There was a lot to be done. He did a total assessment of my system, and repaired everything that needed to be done. Well worth it!

Excellent service by a very nice person. I had some broken sprinkler heads that needed repair. David repaired those and then evaluated the whole system. Found some other heads that needed adjustment, including one that had been covered by a fence repair. The next day I realized one sprinkler head in the corner had been missed and was leaking. David came out and fixed it right away for just a small fee.

We called Abelia on a Saturday and he was able to schedule us for the following Monday. He showed up on time and was able to stay to make all the repairs necessary. It was so nice to have the job completed without having to wait for parts to come in or more time in the schedule to allow for repairs. And the cost was great! I was expecting it to be much more. But the rates were extremely fair.

His name is David Nelson. He had a cancellation and showed up the same day that I called. He worked very hard and put in several hours. I was very pleased. He was knowledgeable and very dedicated. He was somebody that I will have back. I haven't gotten the bill but what we discussed was very reasonable.

I was having issues with sprinkler zones not working and leaking heads and valves. I looked up irrigation specialists on Angie's List and called down the list until I got someone who answered the phone directly. I got in touch with David and went over my issues. He wasn't able to come out that day, but understanding my concern about leaks, walked me through finding my main irrigation shut-off valve so that I could turn off water to the system until he got there. When he came out the following day I told him the various issues and he tested out the system, explaining what he was doing the entire time. He walked me through everything he was doing so that I could do it myself in the future, if I felt so inclined. He answered every single dumb question I had about the sprinkler system and is quite possibly the nicest guy in the world. As part of the work, he used a special device to locate two zones that were covered by dirt & grass and were not labeled on the control panel. After the work was done he tested each zone and searched for any other obvious leaks. For the two hours he spent at my property and the knowledge I gained from the experience, his price was beyond reasonable. In fact, I even had an Angie's List coupon for 10% off and didn't bother using it.

David was very punctual and personable. Repaired items reported and then inspected entire system by zone, making recommendations for some head replacements or modifications. Will definitely use Abelia Sprinkler Repairs again and recommend to others looking for high quality service.
