David was prompt in calling me back for an appointment. He was already familiar with the model of my system and had a good idea what was wrong with the system before coming out. He arrived on time, took care of the problem in a timely manner, and checked to make sure the system was running properly in all zones. It has been a couple of weeks since he resolved our problems and everything has been working great. We would not hesitate to recommend him and will definitely call him again should we have any other problems.

I wanted a detailed estimate for drip irrigation installation and was requesting for more than a customary quote. I knew drip irrigation is fairly new to the San Antonio area and was willing to pay for the extra effort and advice. I received excellent drawings and recomendations from which to evaluate other contractors. Abelia's installation price was significantly higher than the 2nd highest contractor, but his estimates, input and drawings were well worth the $70 investment.

David customized a solution to properly care for 8 new trees planted this year that were struggling and needing more support. He devised a way to do it with minimium additional equipment needed, and with minimal disruption of existing grass. David is always punctual, thorough, careful and respectful of my yard and landscaping, and a complete and knowledgeable professional. It is a pleasure working with Mr. Nelson, and I can consistently count on and trust his ability and knowledge. His prices are very reasonable, and I always feel like I get more than I pay for.

David was a few minutes late arriving, but apologized immediately. He checked the leaks and repaired them, checked the controller and said it was pretty old and needed to be replaced. He gave me the option of purchasing one at a big box store and gave me the price or using a name brand he carried and purchase it from him. Because he was very knowledgeable in the process, I chose to purchase it from him. He located all of the sprinkler heads, checked their functionality, checked all valves for proper setting, installed the new controller and instructed me how to operate it. He told me the sprinkler heads needed cleaning and showed me how to do it. He said I could do it or pay him for doing it. I chose to do it myself after his services. He had to replace two sprinkler heads. He was low key and did not hesitate to give instructions on how to maintain the system myself. The reason I gave him a B on the price is because it is not inexpensive. However, he explained at initial telephone contact what his initial hourly charge and additional hourly charge plus parts would be, so I could have chosen not to hire him. I would rather pay for quality and insure the problem was repaired correctly and I think it was. Also, purchasing the new controller drove the cost up. David was very professional and personable. He went right to work and worked steadily for the 2 1/2 hours it took to complete the job.

I moved into a house with a non-working sprinkler system. I had zero history or documentation on it, and little experience working with sprinklers. I decided to call Abelia Sprinkler Repairs based on Angies List recommendations. I was not disappointed. David actually offered some free help over the phone checking a couple of basic things before determining he would need to come out. We then made an appointment on a Saturday after another job. It can be hard to say how long a job will take sometimes, but he kept in touch and let me know when he would arrive. He quickly found the problem (open circuit on main wire due to weed-eater damage) and proceeded to test the zones and adjust the heads. He explained each step of his troubleshooting process and I learned a lot about sprinklers that morning. He got 95% of the system working in about an hour, and then spent about half an hour checking and repairing some questionable connections that seemed to be pointing to the other 5%. I was happy at that point, however, so we left it there. David was friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable -- I would recommend him to my friends and family. I only gave a B on price because he's not the cheapest. But if you want a real expert and don't want to take chances or waste your time, he's worth every penny.

I've been using them for about a year and a half now. David is by far the most competent of all the sprinkler service providers I have every used. He is very fair and honest. I highly recommend him for his services.

Mr. Nelson was informative and stayed in touched regarding his schedule. He accommodated m y schedule and provided helpful information regarding how to best maximize irrigation, local rules, etc. I was impressed with his knowledge and excellent customer service; very courteous! will definitely utilize his services in the future,

David was the best sprinkler serviceman we've ever encountered. He showed up within 24 hours of our call. Friendly, down to earth service. His prices are very reasonable. He not only fixed our problem, but offered to inspect the whole system whereupon he made several observations of things that had been chronic problems, and then fixed them all. No other sprinkler guy had made these important observations including recommendations regarding optimal spacing and distribution of sprinkler heads which have led to a chronically underwatered and brown part of our lawn. He added an additional sprinkler head and I am very confident that our whole lawn will finally be green after over 10 years in the house. Lastly, he reset the timing settings and informed us of the different water timing requirements for stationary vs. rotating heads. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

Mr. Nelson and his helper worked on into the evening on the first day of the job, in order to get to a desired completion point in the job. Mr. Nelson subsequently came back twice - to finish the job, and then to make adjustments to the system and change out nozzles after I'd had a chance to observe system performance. He changed out some of the heads he originally installed with heads by a different manufacturer that performed better in places where improvement of coverage was needed. I appreciated Mr. Nelson's product knowledge and his very high work ethic that leads to a positive - and elegant - solution every time. I have used his services before, and will do so again, I'm sure. It is a pleasure to work with Mr. Nelson, and to not have to worry that the job will be done right, because it always is. He wouldn't have it any other way. Charges are always reasonable, I always get more than I pay for, and Mr. Nelson is always very punctual and dependable.

I needed maintenance work on a sprinkler system that is about 10 years old. It was leaky and just not getting the job done. David fixed the system without overselling.

Bottom line first -- David is an OUTSTANDING professional that I will use again. My small job turned out to require a surprise amount of detective work to locate the broken controller. Turns out, the outdoor deck that was put in a few years back was built right over two of the controllers. Therefore, it took a good bit of time to locate the damaged controller. In addition to repairing the controller, all of the zones were inspected and adjusted.

David was awesome! Recommend his company above others.

He is really good. He always does a fantastic job and if I call him a couple of times a year, I always get discounts from him. He is not expensive. He is just a good all around guy.

Have a sprinkler problem? Call Abelia Sprinkler Repair! I had a serious leak under my driveway. I had visions of concrete saws and sledge hammers breaking up the driveway just to get to the leak. But David saved the day by snaking a new pipe through the broken one. Brilliant! He also installed drip tubing in 3 locations, one of which was a 60 ft. run behind a 6 ft hedge with lots of sharp branches. He also repaired and adjusted 5 sprinkler zones. He is prompt, works fast, his prices are reasonable, and he's an all around pleasure to meet.

The lawn sprinklers had not had a thorough check since I had been living in this home. Several of the sprinklers had been noted to be malfunctioning. I wanted a thorough evaluation of the system as well as appropriate repairs. David had given me an estimate of work needed as well as a time estimate. He very professional and thorough, even spending some additional time completing all repairs and work while sticking to his price. I would highly recommend David and plan to use his services again.

David arrived promptly, did the necessary repairs and additions quickly, then reviewed my system station by station to see if there were any additional problems. He had done quite a bit of work on my system previously, and it was still generally in excellent shape. He is preparing a bid for the revisions I want to one of the stations, and has suggested a way to configure the heads to save water and qualify me for a rebate from SAWS. David is extremely knowledgeable in what he does. He is honest and helpful in his suggestions, and it is a pleasure doing business with him. His personal integrity and work ethic always bring me optimum results and value for my investment. I wouldn't ever want anyone else work on my sprinkler system.
