The technician was awesome

He was very warm, wasn't hard to talk to, he was very patient and showed concern when needed. He was very passionate about his work. He was very good and I would recommend him to my friends and associates.

I was quoted less, and then when the tech arrived, suddenly he had to do more work for more money.

I initially chose United Home Cleaning Services because the were able to come out the same day of our initial contact. I was unable to use our dryer due to the dryer vent being completely clogged with lint. The technician who came out said as it looked like it had never been cleaned by the previous owners and this house is 20+ years old. Our dryer worked great for a couple of days then started overheating again. We had them out a second time and the vent tubing was the problem. This could have been detected in the first visit but was overlooked. Overall, I was happy with their service and will use them again for annual maintenance to prevent this type of problem in the future.

They are a rip ! The prices are not set. I was quoted 119$ for chimney cleaning, and removing birds, and free chimney inspection to determine if I needed a chimney cap. Ori arrived and said that the initial chimney cleaning charge would be 125$ I told him the owner told me 119$. He said, "oh maybe he gave you a Groupon price" then he proceeded to say that I had a lot of birds in the chimney, and didn't know if he could remove them he needed to call his supervisor. Ori started to act afraid. That should have been my first red flag. He then agreed to remove birds, but then he said he would also need to spray sanitizer which would be 181$ and charge me bird removal fee of 125$, on top of the 119$. I was guilted into paying him because I didn't want to argue with a man alone in my home. After this was completed he proceeded to tell me that my roof was very high on my 2 story home, and he didn't have a ladder to reach it, but he could tell from where he was standing that I would need a new chimney cap, and that a standard would be 450$ or a fancy one is up to 1000$. He then said that he could reach my room but I would have to rent a lift from Home depot for 600-1000$! I said are you serious! There is no way! I felt as though Ori was very nervous and trying to con me out of all my money. When the owner was contacted for resolution, and explanation, he stated he couldn't be bothered because he is at home with 4 children, and he would have to wait until his wife comes home from work! I had to hire another company to come out the same day and fix chimney. I was told that my chimney only needed the screen repaired. The guy removed the bird's nest in there as well for only 129$. I had spent 460$ with United Home Cleaning Services for partial chimney cleaning, sanitizer, and the removal of 4 birds. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY!

The company that came out was Green & Clean. They charged my over $3000 dollars. Said the sealant was $250 per can and I needed 10 cans. They had it in 1 larger container so how do they charge ny the can. He was nice enough but I felt uneasy and should have said no - my mistake. I will not trust home advisor again!

I requested service for a blocked dryer vent, and was quoted a $99 'special' to clear the blockage on the phone, but was ultimately charged $480 (plus tax). Although the technician was late, I did not consider it a terrible failing. I understand that projects can run over the expected time, I wasn't at all inconvenienced, and the delay was communicated to me ahead of time. After the technician spent some time attending to the vent, he explained something was blocking it. This was not a surprise, as our new dryer had alerted us to this fact, and prompted the service call. He could not clear the blockage in the vent attacking it from the dryer side, nor could it be cleared from the outlet on the roof, where he also spent some time. He said that we had two options: replace the entire ventilation pipe, or allow him to use a special cleansing fluid. When I asked for details on what this fluid was, he couldn't explain it. I imagine it was some sort of lubricant or dissolvent, given the context of the application. But, he did know the cost of the solution, and that was $381 - which he would not charge us if it failed to work. Of course, it ended up working after some more time spent on the problem with the application of this fluid. The vent has been cleared of the blockage, as our dryer no longer reports a problem with the exhaust. Accordingly, I've rated the quality of the work 5/5. But as far as the value for the money goes, it seemed like a pretty obvious bait and switch. I would not use the company again, nor would I recommend them.

Very professional. Spent more than expected, but that's what happens when there's bird nests in your dryer vents.

Make sure they explain their prices to you and get the correct price

It was a big mistake. It looks so silly, cheap, unprofessional. We hate that we even trusted this to be done. We have a nice home & it will be detrimental when we try to sell. He used a black spray paint & it's already flaking off. We are so disappointed in this shoddy work. We shall not recommend this company to anyone. We paid $$$$ for this & are ashamed that we trusted another "untrustworthy" company to help us. We are retired & they took advantage of us. Tragic! What's wrong with companies today?
