The biggest problem with the company is that the sales information does not get passed along. The workers show up and ask you what is needed because no one has told them. If you have a problem with something that happened or how the finished project went your complaints will be ignored. In our case part of the sidewalk did not have a joint cut into it and has cracked, this is after only 1 month of being installed. We cannot get any answer just the sales person finally answers and says he does not deal with that call his brother. No name just a number and you hope it gets fixed.

Horrible customer service and horrible job! We had them come out late May to powerwash and restain our backyard patio concrete. We spent close to $2k and it did look good when they left but after a month it faded again and it showed streaks and it was blotchy. We have tried calling and emailing them 4 times to get them to honor their 1 year warranty and redo the job but no response back. Learn from our mistake and please do not use this company!

I hired Prater to replace 600 s/f of driveway and pour a pad for a 10x16 storage building. They screwed them both up. Pathetic, substandard concrete work. The pad was neither square, true, correct size or level. The Tuff Shed folks had a hard time making it work. Ryan Prater would not return a call or text. The driveway has deep grooves down the center. The imprint of whatever machine they were using before it was dry. I regret hiring these folks.

Took time to explain the project in detail during the estimate process. Being a family owned business you can see the pride in their work.

Installed new enlarged front porch. Crew was very good & detailed. Enjoyed watching them work. Sales support with Ron was easy and clarification of specs was easily done. Would hire them again for additional work.

This is a family-owned business and at least one of the brothers was there for every step. They were most definitely knowledgeable, and had the crew and equipment to get this job done. They showed up when they said they would, and stayed until the concrete had set up to where they wanted before they left, even though it was after dark. My new driveway looks great, but I'm still going to give it a couple more days to cure before I use it. I absolutely recommend them.

If I could I would give this company no stars. Company was hired to stain existing sidewalk and stamp concrete and stain our porch. The sidewalk which was supposed to be a multi color brown and copper is a mud color, and the porch which was to be stamped in a wood pattern has visible swirls underneath the pattern, the color which was to be walnut is a cross between baby poo-brown and yellow. As if that was not enough, the stain was applied in such a way that nothing is uniform. There are gouges in the concrete where it appears to have dried before the stamp was used, there is stain and sealer all over the bottom of our home where the porch meets the wall. Ryan Praetor came out to initially address our concerns and just managed to make it worse and now won't answer calls. Unfortunately I saw all the bad reviews about this company after I hired them. I had done my homework but confused the company I wanted with this one. Please if you want even a decent job, don't use this company.

My concern was due to an erosion problem, so I needed them to redirect the water. Part of what they did was good, but the other half was not good. When I try to reach out to this company, they will not answer or respond to me.

One minor glitch one employee gave us one price but when it came time to do the actual work, we were charged an additional $250 because the concrete was deeper than had been estimated.

New driveway for 1978 build at F&J home. Very prompt, polite and professional family run business with a family member involved at each step of the process (bid, removal, install and finish). Quality materials and professional service at a fair price. Not the highest and not lowest - perfect balance. Thanks Prater team.

Very ragged equipment, leaked oil all over the street and did not clean up. No cleanup after poorly washing concrete off to leave aggregate finish. VERY POOR JOB!!! Everything around the patio was covered with concrete from the concrete wash. Asked for and received remainder of money well before job was finished. Very slow to finish job, had to call for them to come back and finish. Very messy and aggregate finish not good all all. Dumped wheelbarrow load of concrete and water at gate to backyard and left a big mess. Do not know why!! The Praters were nice people but had no followup and didn't see that see that job was properly completed and cleaned up.

I went with these guys after my friend recommended them and I wish that I hadn't. I also wish that I would have looked them up on BBB.com 1st. Most of the complaints that have been filed against them are for the same complaints I have about them. - Poor quality of workmanship: The patio has rough edges and there is a low spot towards the back of the patio, where it meets the house. So when it rains, the water is able to pool against the house and won’t drain away. About four inches of water is able to pool and will cover about nine square feet of the patio. The sealant that they applied is turning white and is flaking off in most areas. - Showing up late or not at all: Was supposed to show up on the 20th. Took the day off and no one showed up or called. Got a hold of Ron, who 30 minutes later told me “There was a water pump out on their truck” He didn’t know about it, because his brother Ryan didn’t tell him about it. I wasted a day off waiting for them. I had to wait another 17 days until they could come out to do the job. I get a text from Ron, a day before they are supposed to start Dec 8th), asking if they could start that day, because his brother Ryan had to go on vacation the following Saturday. I left work to go meet the other brother Rick by 8AM, but he and his crew didn’t show up until 1PM. They barely got the framing and rebar done before it got dark. - They don’t offer a warranty. - Did not cleanup work site properly: They left bits of concrete around the patio and washed out their wheel barrels on the side of my house. - Doesn’t like to deal with permits: Told Ron that I wanted a permit and HOA approval. He said ok when I signed the contract, but them when I asked him if he got the permit, he said that there would be a $300 charge for it. I had to go to the City of Wylie to get the permit, which cost me $60 (note they were going to charge me $300), but the city told me that this company couldn’t do any work in the city, because they weren’t registered. I also schedule a pre-pour inspection with the city for the following day, but I was told that I have to call the permit office between 7 and 8 AM the next morning to get the exact time that they would come out. I relayed this information to Ron via text and he interpreted it as that the inspector was going to be out at my house between 7 and 8. He then tells his brother Ryan to pour the concrete at 8am. I told Ron that he got the information wrong and he tells me that the concrete truck is already on its way. Ryan calls me and angrily tells me that he and his crew is sitting outside my house and that he is paying his guys to sit around and do nothing. Run down equipment. - The concrete truck that they use barely functions. It leaks fluids everywhere and the jams up while it’s mixing.
