This company did exactly what they promised on the phone. They said the tech was great and knowledgeable - he was. They said he would not sell me services I did not need - he did not. They were awesome! We are at a rental home now, but will ABSOLUTELY use them for the new house we are building. Austin people - Do NOT use anyone else, and do not be fooled by the details on Angie's List site - despite the Dallas address and phone number they ABSOLUTELY service the Austin AND San Antonio ares - Call them, you will not be disappointed.

This is a 50 year old house. The tech confirmed the chimney caps are tight and in good order. He came early but called before he came. He was very patient when I spent a fair amount of time contacting Angie's List office regarding a payment I made about when I scheduled this service but it turned out I had not paid up front for the service. I paid him out with no trouble. Good experience.

We contacted the company and scheduled an appointment for Dec. 18 between 3-5 pm. The representative, Jack, Called around 3 on that day to say there had been a problem at another appointment and he would be arriving later on that day. He then called around 6 to tell us that he would be there around 7 that night. We told him that since it was dark at that hour we felt it would be better to reschedule another time. We called him on Thurs to reshedule and he said he would be right out. He came about an hour later and was very sorry about the scheduling. He then proceded to evalate and clean our fireplace, being very careful not to get the area dirty. He explained every step and was very professional. After about an hour, we were told he had clened and checked the chimney and it should work. We had not used the fireplace in 8 years because of draft problems. after a test to see if the fireplace worked, he apologized for not making the original appointment and offered to refund our money, which we refused. We are now enjoying our fireplace and it is working again. I would definitely recommend this company.

The service was performed while I was at work (my boyfriend was home) and I would never have known they were here if he didn't tell me. They left the house extremely clean and completed the job in 30 minutes. We've been happily using the fireplace this winter, and I would absolutely recommend them.

I was not there but my husband said they did a great job almost didn't notice they were there. Left the place spotless.

Exceptionally good job! Jack called ahead, confirmed the scheduled visit, and arrived promptly to do the job. He had the correct equipment, and worked non-stop for around 2 hours. He left the living room clean and neat. I am comfortable with the safety of our fireplace now, and will light a fire in it tonight. We certainly will welcome him back in the future. I rate him at A +++.

Our old gas starter pipe had corroded so badly it broke off about halfway in the fireplace. We looked on Angie's list and saw the great offer for chimney and dryer vent cleaning from the Chimney and Wildlife Specialists, so we called them to see if they could also repair the pipe. They were able to work us into the schedule very quickly, which was especially impressive as it was the week before Christmas. The technician, Jack, called in advance and worked out coming a little early so he could be sure to get to us on the day we were scheduled, as he had conflicts across town later in the day. He very quickly cleaned the chimney, and even finished the dryer vent quickly though it took cleaning from both inside and outside due to its design. Jack was very professional and answered all my questions. He persevered through the old starter pipe being horribly stuck, spending more time to change the pipe than he had on all the cleaning he had already done. This put him over his scheduled time on the appointment, but he never attempted to take any shortcuts, and even handled a call from the next customer without stopping his work on the pipe. The customer was upset that Jack was late, but Jack was able to help them with their problem over the phone, giving them good advice and saving them the visit and money. Overall, I was very pleased with all the work.

1st, this was the San Antonio chimney specialist....not Dallas. Jack was very thorough & enthusiastic. We had a clean fireplace & a chimeny we didn't have to be concerned about. Altough he did mention additional services he could do for us & the price, he didn't ram it down our throats. He just laid it out there & didn't push. He cleaned up after himself & couldn't have been nicer. I'd definitely use Jack again.

I paid $89.99 for a chimney sweep and safety inspection. Jack was prompt and got to work right away. We had only been in our house a few months and we didn't know the condition of the fireplace. We knew we needed a new gas starter and a flu cap. Jack checked the fireplace and the interior of the chimney. We were happy to find out that the fireplace and interior chimney were in really good condition. He then went up on the roof to check the exterior portion of the chimney. There was no cleaning that needed to be done so Jack applied the $89.99 toward the labor for installing a new gas starter. He explained the cost to put a new flu cap on and replace the gas starter. He left my house to purchase a new gas starter and flu cap, then came back to install the items. He showed me how to turn on the gas starter in the fireplace. He was very pleasant and courteous. I highly recommend this company.

He did a good job on the sweep, as far as I know. I hadn’t had it cleaned in a long time. The office said that he would call me half an hour before he would arrive to do the work; he didn’t, but it didn’t create a problem this time. If I had not been home, it could have posed a problem.

The lady who booked the appointment was polite and efficient on the phone when I booked the appointment. The service man arrived at the appointed time, neatly dressed, with equipment in hand, and proceeded to work without much conversation. He covered the area around the fireplace and quickly started to vacuum the chimney and fireplace floor. After that was cleaned he went outside, climbed up a ladder to the top of the roof where he checked the chimney cap to be sure it was sealed against entry of animals and birds. He returned to the inside of the house, lit the gas logs to be sure they were working properly, cleaned up the area, gave us his report and departed.

Paul came out for a free estimate - I had to meet him at home from work, but he arrived early - he called me and said I didn't need to come out (which was very nice) and that he'd seen exactly where the squirrel was entering the overhang and he was able to give me a quote right over the phone. At first he thought there were two access points and that he'd have to install a one-way-out door and come back to seal it once the squirrel had left - that was going to cost $275. I scheduled him to come out 2 days later to do the install. He came right on time and I met him at home right after he'd finished. He said he only had to seal up one point and luckily the squirrel had exited while he was there so he would not need to come back. My new price was only $175. They were professional and knowledgable! I will highly recommend them!

I recently purchased an older home and have some safety/maintenance issues with various areas..the fireplace being one. My first contact was thru the internet, however the scheduling got mixed up. Their office was very kind in reaching a resolution and in no time I met Jack at my home for the scheduled work. In fact, I confused the appointment day and time and he graciously accommodated me and came when I thought it was (actually a day earlier) not when it actually was scheduled. As luck would have it someone had canceled and rather than kick back, Jack took care of business. When he arrived he was polite, curious, well groomed and even carried with him a tarp to protect my things. First he looked inside, ask very pertinent questions, then went out side and up on the roof. (None of this did he do without first asking permission and informing me as to his intention in each area.) He was cautions and respectful of my plants and furnishings. He sat down with me and gave me the good news "chimney did not need to be swept." No build up-nice and clean, however he showed me several loose bricks, explained to me what the pipe was that was sticking out, and then shared pictures with explanations of work that should be done. He kindly broke it all down from the most to least important and can wait categories, with options for each. I had a lot of questions, probably silly ones but he was patient and took time to go over things twice when I needed more information or did not understand. He was the kindest, most understanding, polite young man I have met in a long time. I scheduled all the repairs with him at this first meeting. Though I did not ask, he just gave me a 10% Angie's List Member discount on the work. And then another discount and his estimate even included taxes. How rare is that? Additionally, he said he would put in a lighter(the pipe I had no clue about) , showed it to me and explained how it worked and said..."no charge". Oh and he is going to give me a key-for the fireplace...it just goes on and on. I have already told all my friends and work buddies about my experience and recommended this company. I have an appointment set for the "rest of the work" and if it goes anything like this one---well there will not be enough accolades to proclaim the merits of this company and a young man named Jack. Blessings.

I was able to schedule an appointment with the company within a couple of days of purchasing the Big Deal. Hiram came to my home the first Saturday to conduct the evaluations and make recommendations. He was able to show me the scope of the work in the chimney after photographing what needed to be corrected. He showed me the problem areas in the fireplace and explained the scope of the repairs. He was an excellent communicator and made sure that I understood everything that needed to be accomplished. We agreed that he would return the following Saturday to complete the work. He returned the following Saturday and was able to get all of the work listed above completed in a few hours. He was professional and helpful. He was punctual. While the cost was considerable, I could not complain as I really enjoy the use of my fireplace and was happy to have it taken care of to avoid any safety issues for my home. I would absolutely use the services of Chimney and Wildlife Specialists again.

The company responded first with an email from purchasing Angie's "Big Deal" on who to contact & to call to make an appt. I called and wasn't able to get an appt for 3 weeks out. They were supposed to show up from 9-11 on a Friday- 11:00 rolled around and nothing. I called the company around noon and left a voice mail stating that I had an appt today and no one showed up or called. The office manager returned my call promptly and she couldn't even find me in the system. She was very apologetic and scheduled me an appt for the next week. This time, they called in the early am- then said they would call 15 minutes before arriving when they were on their way from 9-11. The technician called ~11:12 and arrived 11:46 at my house. Very professional and courteous. Inspected, cleaned and sealed my fireplace. More work needs to be done, but I can use it now until I can afford the repairs needed.

Paul called and said that he could come over early and wanted to know if it was okay. I said yes, to come ahead. When Paul got here he was very professional and did a great job of keeping everything clean. He was very careful and fast. Paul did a great job. I would have him come again anytime.

He was very professional, inspected, cleaned the chimney, installed a custom made cap that is beautiful, waterproofed the chimney and repaired some spots in the chimney walls. I have no complaints, work is very well done and I have already recommended him to one of my coworkers who is also very satisfied. Will continue to use.
